VOR: Angel,
What you appear to forget is that if you miss your connecting flight, regardless of who is to blame, and you don't have a visa for the transit country where one is required. You ain't coming out of the airport and that has nothing to do with the airline but everything to do with the immigration authorities of the country through which you are passing. The airline can stand as guarantor to the immigration to allow u entry. (ur passport may be held by the immigration authorities) That is what was done when i had a similar experience in Ethiopia. |

Mamajama: you can have a football field full of kids if you so please and choose too. Then u should have to take care of them and not make noise about it! Mamajama: to assist the Nigeria Police in combating the high rate of crime in the country, the Police Equipment Fund Committee has said it will purchase additional helicopters for aerial surveillance across the country.
The Chairman of the committee, Chief Kenny Martins, who disclosed this to our correspondent in a telephone interview on Thursday, also said a total of 800 vehicles had been handed over to the management of the Nigeria Police to enable it combat crime.
The helicopters, according to Martins, will soon be brought into the country. Though he declined to mention the number, he said the jets would strengthen the ability of the police in patrols and crime-fighting.
Currently, there are only two functional helicopters in the Nigeria Police Air Wing, out of the eight in the fleet.
Martins said, “We will buy helicopters for the police to enable them fight crime in the country. The helicopters are to be used for aerial surveillance of the country. This, I believe will help in the reduction of crime rate drastically in the country. Already, we have so far given the police 800 vehicles and we still have plans of buying more, though I cannot say when.”
According to him, the committee members are satisfied with the way the police high command is distributing the vehicles.
Martins said, “We are monitoring the way the cars are being distributed to make sure that they are being used. Though we have no reported cases of mishandling of the vehicles, I must tell you that we are monitoring it.”
WHy is a private entity making provision for the police? why can't the government do it? When we know its the oga's that will sit on these things. I beg the men on the street (police) should be given proper clothing and equipment e.g proper boots, uniforms (God knows i have seen enough faded and torn ones), rain coats, torch and batteries. These cars and helicopters na gist. |

P.diddy is not the first american artiste to come to nigeria I wonder why he felt the need to diss the country. was he forced to come to this poor country? Isnt he from the ghetto himself? I hope he never gets the opportunity to come back. we dont need or want the likes of him. he played, he got paid and was treated according to the terms of his contract with the organisers so whats the drama about?
And for all u supposed Nigerians dissing the country, u have a choice. U can get out and stay the hell out! |

thabo: I don't even think that you're South African. I've never seen or heard such an apologetic South African. You are probably a Nigerian or just sucking up. You are a disgrace to this country. in fact you are one the people who are trying to make our country a third world poor country by screaming Africa Uhuru shit. Your same African brothers did not even bother to vote for us durng the world cup bid. We had to relly on our actual brothers, the Brazillians, Caribeeans and most of the European countries. Where were your African brothers. Wake up and smell the coffie. South Africa used to be such a wonderful country, untill they allowed Africans to come here with deseases like AIDS,MALARIA etc. Now look at the mess that we have here. Oh GOD hear our prayers. u have just shown urself. I never thot i could say this but the likes of u make me wish that all foreigners were banned from SA after the fall of aparthied. Who are the 'we' u keep referring to? Maybe u do not realise that SA is originally a black country. Live with it or get the hell out!!! u make me sick! |

I disagree with most posts here. Were are treated shabily abroad because we allow it. Deamnd ur just rights and u will be treated differently.
@poster u should have demanded to be treated properly. Like u said they were just trying to save money and as such would not offer what ought to be standard. U missed the connecting flight for no fault of yours. It was their fault and theyought to take responsibility. It doesnt matter what airline it was. My sister got a less than satisfactory treatment from virgin Nigeria and she complained. She was offered an upgrade for her next flight. I have missed a connecting flight on Ethiopian to Dubai and i was put in a hotel and properly catered for but some people on the same flight spent the night in the airport! |
