In his statement to the EFCC, the former governor admitted knowing Abubakar but said he did not know details about his company and promised to contact government officials that allegedly gave him the kick back and stated that “whatever is my share, I will refund it.”
How disgraceful

PoliticsRe: Your Experiences With The Nigerian Police by angel101(f): 10:53am On Jul 17, 2007
Definitely disgraceful. I actually saw a television programe where an AIG was being interviewed and a lady rang in to say that she was disappointed at the way some police men ran away from the environs of a robbery when they ought to have helped out. The AIG then said that it was expected afterall their uniform is not bullet proof!

you have still not answered the question. look for the evidence against baba and post it here for me.
Look around u. no one else cares. If the man drops dead today, it is good riddance. the evidence of his evil deeds is all around. If u can not see it, well too bad. I dont care enough to go about looking for 'evidence'!

@honeric

the matter of Lucky Igbinedion is simple. There is no need setting trap for the bush meat that is securely in the cage.

Lucky is so dull and stole so blatantly that in the next 100 there will be excessive evidence of what he stole.

Please I suggest right now, they go after governors like Orji Kalu who can within 2 years, completely launder all the money they stole and make it look legal.
Very true. I hear he has returned a lot though

its true the guy excaped to Italy, did he excape through airport? NO, more over he was wearing hijab and after much they still see him in CCTV at Digbeth station in BHAM, have they shown anybody any of such as regards to Alams? NO. what happened to all cameras in heathrow and the other airports.
Italy is europe you can even excape by road as far as you can show a look alike kpali.
Who has asked for photographic evidence concerning Alams' escape? Alams just might have been wearing hijab as well afterall what other kind of female clothing will fit him.
Point of correction though, the one who escaped to Italy did not wear a hijab. It was the one who fled to Birmingham by coach from Golders green coach stationwho wore a hijab.

And no he did not leave thru Heathrow but neither did he go by road. He went by Eurostar which is not much different from using an airport.

It seems likely they did. It is called British justice. By telling you that he dressed like a woman and flee britain through heathrow makes their airport and borders very vulnerable. It can never be true. The news is from them, do you expect their news media to contradict the govt? that can only happen when both parties involved are british otherwise do not expect such in international affairs of this country.
Of course it can be true. They are not too bothered when u are leaving the country. Infact prior to 21/7 they was no form of checks(passport) when u are leaving the country. Dont forget that 1 of the guys who has now been convicted for the 21/7 bombings escaped to Italy.
From what I have gathered, OGD was a successful businessman before getting into politics.
Its very possible he is worth that much but its also possible that the assets were padded in
2003 - padding is one thing and LOOTING is another smiley

Now, we are all crying for transparency and accountability from government officals, isn't
this a welcome development, at least a start? Consider this first before blasting back. . .

Assuming that OGD padded his asssets in 2003, here is another way to view it albeit in
a light hearted manner: at least we now know publicly roughly how much OGD plans to
"collect" from Ogun state by the time his term ends, and that is roughly another 25%
of the current value of his assets - mission accomplished(I wonder who said that?) smiley

If most of the governors follow this path, from get go, we can now use a mathematical
model to predict how much of the state budget that will go towards servicing "asset
declaration business"
otherwise known as "contained looting" and how much
will be left for the state itself. Hopefully with their intent declared upfront and with our
consent, they can now honestly go back to the business of real governance!

The key is whether we will be to get the agencies to vet their final asset declarations
when they leave office. What do you guys think? No?
It just might make more sense to verify their declarations

I mean it only equates to about 20 million pounds.

PoliticsRe: The List Of Arrested Corrupt Governors (after May 29th) by angel101(f): 9:07pm On Jul 16, 2007
debosky:
BigB that is not the question AT ALL,

according to your reasoning as long as all are not arrested simultaneously, then no one should be arrested. that is extremely flawed

if you said no innocent person should be prosecuted, that is another thing entirely, but to base your defence of a crime you committed on the excuse that someone else benefited, or that you were not alone cannot stand anywhere. Even if it is a case of political witch-hunting, AS LONG AS THE PERSON IS GUILTY, He should face the full weight of the law.

We cannot wait till we are ready to arrest everyone, or when there are no political motives involved, that luxury of 'perfection' as you call it, is one we cannot afford as a nation. Every individual, no matter how highly placed that gets prosecuted stands as an example to others : even if you steal with 'them', these same people may turn around and stab you in the back, another dissuading factor from corruption.

it is not a matter of who deserves to be arrested, if you stole 10million and another stole 100billion, you are both culpable under the law, the lack of prosecution of the seemingly larger crime takes absolutely nothing from the guilt of the smaller one. Ideally we want ALL to be caught, but we'll take what we can get on the road to that destination.
Precisely! Preach it my brother.
