This is the nation you guys claim Investors are rushing into with Billions of Dollars...! |
Tranquility2345:Okay... Did I claim to have propounded a 'rock science' solution?!! Does the truth always have to be far-fetched and complicated? I really don't understand the thrust of your rant or response. Okay, bring forth your own 'something' wey only Ph.D. holders know... We are all here to learn. ![]() |
So?!! Do you know how many Nigerians speak English, French, Russian, Spanish, German, and Swahili fluently?! Why has that never made the news?!! What makes this more newsworthy than that?! Abeg abeg...! |
Sigh... It's just like cancer. It spreads if unchecked at the source. Those of you hiding and bragging that Lagos will never be touched should keep deluding yourselves. That was what many thought about Abuja. Katsina was one of the safest and most peaceful in Nigeria as at 10 years ago when I visited there. A finger soiled by oil that is left unwashed will make the entire hand oily after a while. If you can't safeguard FCT and a few states in the North, how can you simultaneously safeguard the entire nation when this spirals out of control?!! You people are playing with fire in this country Sha. |
ppogba:Love?! Lol! An average Nigerian will burn the nation to the ground without a second thought if it will make him wealthier. We have become a group of people more concerned about personal wealth growth than the collective and corporate growth of the nation. We don't even go to election grounds with Patriotism and love for the country in mind. Look at sports... Our Super Eagles are not after their nation's honor. Compare that to Senegal, Morocco, Cape Verde, etc. That's why some of those nations are faring better economically too. Imagine the amount of Dollars being hoarded by Politicians alone, including Mr. President and his Vice. These people are not interested in the collective progress of this nation except it benefits them alone. Nigeria and Nigerians have exalted Money to ridiculous heights... It is shocking. |
BreconHills:Nigerians are a special breed of insensitive, selfish, and greedy people. That's why it will take very honest, morally standing, and no-nonsense leadership from federal to state to set them right. If the right decisions and difficult moves are made from the top, the citizens won't have a choice but fall in line. |
onyekabe:Local production! Simple. They don't operate a highly "Dollarized" economy like Nigeria. Most Nigerians in Nigeria literally depend on the Dollars like it is oxygen. In addition, a lot of these nations invest themselves in trans-Africa trades which doesn't require devaluing their currencies while meeting their needs. |
This is precisely what I have been talking about on the other thread. This was my comment/response to @Datedoboy in that thread below: Angelfrost: |
"The Joint Action Committee of Northern Youth Associations" Una go just collect peanuts come dey form idiotic groups, come dey make silly demands. ![]() If all of you morons were this committed and passionate about eliminating terrorism and insecurity, your region would have become the safest in the world by now. |
seguno2:The guy actually made me laugh... Like, he legit sat down and came up with such an 'over-simplistic' approach to years of poor economic policies. Lol! It's always easy to go after the same masses for trying to improve their lives in the midst of failed leadership rather than addressing the failure at root of it all. |
Datedoboy:This is impressive, lengthy, yet shockingly lacking. You ended up being thrifty with the real truth (or maybe you don't know it). Check the 70s and 80s... Why was the Naira stronger then??! Answer: Low importation compared to high levels of exported commodities. Today, you literally import everything, and you pay in Dollars! Your demand for the Dollars is astronomical! This has nothing to do with Dom accounts or people saving in Dollars... That's a secondary symptom of the main ailment. Create a strong demand for the Naira by drastically cutting down on importation, starting with the main culprit "Fuel", and watch the Naira massively appreciate. With the appreciation of the Naira, people will save more in Naira and no longer see the need to hold on to foreign currencies. So please, quit going after symptoms or easy targets instead of curing the disease! Lead and the masses will follow!... Dom accounts didn't crash the Naira... The crashing of the Naira gave rise to an increasing need to save in Dollars. |
cucumbar:Well, I have gaslit no one, Sir. I have merely pointed out a clearly observable fact. I didn't even criticize anyone. Additionally, I never placed a single premium on wishes or desires, especially where they have no direct impact on governance. |
seguno2:Egbon, you wan carry us go where we no wan go! ![]() |
Zeebuy:You shouldn't be in a haste to label me a Tinubu supporter or a critic of the masses. I merely stated an observable fact: some Nigerians earnestly desire to see Tinubu fail! This was also Tinubu and Buhari's desire all the while Jonathan was in Aso Rock till they claimed power, and totally destroyed what was left of the nation. |
HeadNigga:Sigh... That doesn't even make sense. Meaning, they can sacrifice more people's health within 3 weeks just to protect other people's profit margins. |
ObalendeCMS:Nothing and no one sabotages an economy like clueless and dumb leaders. It is ridiculous to shift blame to mere critics (especially dumb ones like some Obidients) for this poor economic direction of duly elected leaders. Have the courage, decency, and common sense intelligence to compel your elected leaders to save this nation's economy from imminent catastrophe... Don't cover up their glaring failure by spotlighting irrelevant people. "A man whose house is engulfed in flames doesn't have the luxury to chase rats" |
That ban should have started years earlier. In this day and age of easily available information on health and safety, I find it hard to grasp why most Nigerians continue to indulge in the consumption of things that will wreak havoc on their system. As uncivilized as our old lifestyle practices look, they have kept us healthier than most parts of the world in recent years... Some of you are too educated (yet dull) to realize that eating rice and other foods served on clean leaves is a mile healthier than eating it served in plastic and styrofoam (takeaway) plates. |
Oga Supreme Court has spoken! ![]() |
Kennyswag:Yeah... That would have been great if your nation was not so import-driven. If we all exported valuable commodities and produced all we needed in Nigeria, the demand for the Dollar would have been very low, ergo a massive bridging of both Currency values. This was how things were in the 70s and even the 80s. So, your purchasing power is declining rapidly with the value of your currency because inflation is galloping along with everything... The value of your Naira savings practically declines per hour, right now. |
Righthussle:Well... Technically, the Naira is RISING... Just in the wrong direction. ![]() |
Mandem2:Nah... Certain Nigerians earnestly desire to see Tinubu's administration fail woefully. For such people, it validates their conviction and belief that he is unworthy of that position, and they are ready to lose everything of value to them just to be proved right. Then again, if you look at it, it feels like Karma! Tinubu, at one point in the past, never wanted his President to succeed in anything. |
oliverwrites:In simple and basic Grammar, punctuation makes a whole world of difference! "It is senseless to be honest" and "It is senseless, to be honest" mean two totally different things. I believe you were aiming for the latter, in your response. ![]() |
Sigh... This Currency is 'dying' faster than most of us predicted. |
Eventually, this kidnapping business go cast...! It would have happened sooner if Nigeria had fully gone cashless, and serious cap and surveillance placed on bulk transfers. I just wonder the next proclivity most criminal minded Naija youths will turn to en masse. ![]() |
Dpharisee:That's the only explanation for why security issues have worsened since PDP handed over. The Military is badly infiltrated and compromised. |
phr0nesis:Send home?!! They are already home. They are the host. ![]() |
If or when Senegal sends you people packing, will the celebration continue?!! ...And una don rush go sack Coach. ![]() |
thesolutions:Not necessarily fake for most of them... Just drastic reduction in quality and standard by some of the manufacturers. There is a clear distinction between drop in quality and outright Imitation. Some companies are now cutting cost by reducing production standards. |
BlueRayDick:Don't mind the idiotic organization. All they do is raise alarm. No proactive steps to curb proliferation of fake and substandard products... No unique structure to separate fake from original. Nothing but raising alarms. |
Na now day break?!! Always reactive rather than proactive. If something no spoil, we won't do the right thing. Why wait till insecurity gets out of hand before beefing up security?!! Africans sha!!! |
