You don't want to tow this path again today, remember your apology when l asked DSS to detain you and you begged that you don't want to lose your job with Aljazeera, and you have started again, your file is still with the DSS and it can be reopened again shocked

what is your drift that you claim that I got and how does it negate what I said?

where did I ask you expatiate anything?
You only alluded according to your post that some people on nairaland are saying subsidy is the problem facing the country and l helped you to see further than what you didn't see by pointing out corruption as part of the Rock of Gilbratar killing the economy of Nigeria, QED cool

but nairalanda1 wants everyone to believe that the reason why the country is not functioning is because of subsidy
Subsidy is a piece of the puzzle, subsidy itself is clone with corruption, Nigeria is faced with multiple venoms and layers of corruption in different department of both the federal, state and local government( both from the led and the followers), hope you get my drift shocked

it's not the goals that matter. His presence can make two or three players useless in the opposition team as they will be busy holding him down and others will be able to score.

TravelRe: I Envy People Who Left Nigeria Already. by AngelicBeing: 8:17am On Feb 06, 2024
IbeOkehie:
Like it or not, the truth is that over a period of 1 year starting today, even ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS starting at below minimum wage in the USA will live a better life than the a Nigerian graduate earning ₦300K per month.

More important, they will likely achieve a much higher standard of living than their home based Nigerian counterparts in the next 5, 10, 15 or 20 years. Most people know this, that's why migration is a hot topic.

Let's be clear about what I'm saying. Every Nigerian living in the USA is not doing better than every Nigerian living in Nigeria. I'm not living better than my two friends in Nigeria who earn $1K per day working on oil rigs. One of them drives a Burgatti or something in that country, I'm not at that level so I don't even know the proper name of the car.

What we can be sure of is that if you gather 1,000 random ILLEGAL Nigerian immigrants in the USA and take pick 1,000 random Nigerians living in Nigeria and follow them for 10 years, 20 and 30 years, the ones based in the USA will have better HDI than the ones in Nigeria.

Everyone starts their life at sone level. There's nothing shameful about starting at the bottom. I've seen Nigerians and Africans generally come to this country illegally and start from ZERO and achieve a lot over 30 years, I've seen children born and grow up in this USA, get married and buy houses, things very few Nigerians their age can achieve. Me myself I started at $4/hr and if I can get to the USA middle class most people can do even better.

Maybe this is the nadir for Nigeria. Maybe. Very possible, but let's stop making false claims. You're even late to the argument. Very strident opponents of migration like @Sukkot and @Treadway have been on this for at least 2 years and as Nigeria has gotten worse they're gradually and sneakily changing their stance. You should look through their comment record or mine, you can read us going at it. You're not giving us any new lies, we've heard it all before.

Good Luck to Nigerians.
Hian, lol at sukkot changing his stand, l don't think so because sukkot has been appointed by a family member who is close to the governor of Lagos State as a SPECIAL ADVISER in the office of the Lagos State governor , sukkot was appointed few days ago and l got the information from Alausa via a friend, sukkot will be monitoring land acquisition / tourist development in LEKKI and you know from that Job, sukkot is gonna be a billionaire in the next few months, damn, sukkot is a lucky chap shocked

We are not like our parents generation. No silly fake story moves us anymore ! People back home lie so much.

Notice how their sob stories always sound the same and it's always an incessant emergency that only your money can solve. No matter the amount you send, their problems never end.

Extended family back home don't care about you, they care about what they can get.

Focus your money and attention on those that truly care about you. People back home lie to rob you dry
Well said smiley

FG Update on FX/Naira:

*On FX Backlogs*

- We met $7 Billion in unpaid obligations
- We had reason to believe we needed to take a harder look at those obligations.
- Deloitte was contracted to do a forensic audit of what is valid or not. The results were startling
-- $2.4 Billion had issues
-- Not having valid import documents
-- Entities did not exist got allocations
-- Entities who asked for FX got more than they asked.
-- Entities that did not ask got allocations
- We wrote to the authorized dealer to explain. Sadly much has not been disputed.
- $2.3 Billion of the validly executed ones including Airlines have been cleared.
- What remains is $2.2 billion. We are confident we will address those. We have come to the end of the road.
- The Naira remains undervalued
- The Naira will stabilise.

*On Interventions*

- We have no illusions that interventions are necessary in our country. They help to channel resources to people however small.
- However, it is important to ensure that the framework is there to ensure it gets to those who really need it.
- The CBN will focus on it's core strength.
- We will be working closely with those whose core strength is in the intervention space.
- We cannot think and implement at the same time.
- We do not have the luxury of failed interventions.

*On the MPC*

- We were concerned that the transition was questionable. We took our time to ensure as much as possible that the MPC is impactful and complements the fiscal side.
- It signals we are moving the MPC in the right direction.
- The new CBN is fully focused on Stabilization of prices and lowering inflation.
- The MPC will reflect the new direction of the CBN focus and core mandate.

*On Communication*

- We are revamping the whole communication strategy of the CBN.
- We are engaging various stakeholders to get feedback on the various things we are implementing.

Rape is a no-no. Who else reckons a tougher penalty should be dished out to rapists.

It goes without saying that, your outfit doesn't give anyone the right to rape you. It's all about the rapist's mentality, no matter what you're wearing.

So as a lady when someone gives you guff like, wear a " decent" clothe or cover your face with religious gear so as not to lure men or let them rape you, all you have to do is say, how about you teach people to control any impulse that might lead to rape!
Rapist are sexual terrorist and should be treated as such, flogged 70,000 lashes cane laced with chilly pepper , also be castrated and jailed angry
