I will advice you to go for cassava and especially the TME 419 variety, then along the line after some years you can intercrop with maize

Yes, better then to grow ur cucumbers in the greenhouse to reduce pest infestation or u'd better be ready to increase ur spraying regime if it is on the field as u also fertilize ur crop. Either way, u can still make it to work either in the field with consitent spraying or in the green house with reduce spraying. Yes the gain from cassava is nearly twice as much when processe than sold originally. Happy farming !

if you can get or start a greenhouse that is fully irrigated you can grow all year round making your cool money like crops like bell pepper, determinate tomato, water melon, cucumber, and other vegetables with minimal input in disease and pest control since it would be in a greenhouse. the larger the greenhouse the more the produce.
cassava is another good one if you have the land mass for it i learnt recently that a ton of cassava sells for 28-32 k. now, what kind of vegetables do you think you Will like to get going in your greenhouse ?

Oh great! Thanks for the reply. Cassava it is then. I will start working on it. Though I think the real gain from cassava is after processing (so I heard). So I will look into that too.

My concern about cucumber is the pest infestation ( I planted a while ago though it's on the field) I have thought of trying it out in the greenhouse but the courage is still low due to the past experience.

First and foremost you will have to be specific in what you actually want to do. Agriculture is so diverse we cannot be experts in every aspects. So you will have to state exactly what you have in mind then the expert in that aspect will come in for you.

Sure I know Agriculture is diverse and one can't be expert in every aspect. More reason why I said crop farming. Initially I had wanted to go for vegetables (greenhouse) among other options like cassava and plantain (open field) but now I can't decide yet. That is why I need advice from practising farmers.

Some dey scratch jajaina, some dey scratch bwress grin

Some dey vomit, some na excess saliva undecided

some get stretch marks, some get pimples sad

Some complain bloating makes them show too early, some complain they don't have any bump to show for all the stress they are going through tongue

Some become glutton during pregnancy, some become picky eaters sad

Some complain of insomnia, some sleep like someone bitten by tsetse - fly shocked

Some glow in beauty, some burnt and ugly cry

Some with MS, some without MS
Everybody with her own wahala

Yet it's all part of the package, they say shocked

Mama Pele you hear? Not to scare you but Actually I doubt if there is anything you can do about excess saliva sad

it was the issue of excess saliva that made me discover this thread from Google. I tried everything suggested but none worked. It was annoying because I never experienced it in my last pregnancy. However, the excess saliva stopped at about 14 wks all by itself. Meanwhile, I know someone who was spitting even till 2 weeks after delivery. So I pray yours will leave you soon. It's annoying really. It is well with you.

PS: This is another world. God bless all the Mamas that has contributed in this thread right from page 1- this present page. I never knew a thread like this existed till Jan/Feb this year ~~After over 10 years on Nairaland~~ sad

Yes I had it early stage of pregnancy. Very serious and scary. Comes anytime of the day and can last for about 5 mins or more at stretch. I will just lie down in pain while it last. I think it stopped around 10wks or so. Sorry dear, hang on cos you will soon forget you ever had it.

How did u manage without eating till 12pm sef.
I ate breakfast past 10am today and it was as if I wanted to faint. Even after drinking one glass of milk past 7.. I eat breakfast latest 8am else my baby will use kicks to remind me.

I wanted to mention this to her too. If I don't eat on time, I can't explain how my baby will be protesting with severe kicks So I was wondering how she even manage till 12. Cappo @pweetiebabe breakfast is very important o.... Don't forget your dinner is always before 10pm (or at most 11pm) so time interval between then and 12am is not a small something oo.

Leave fasting alone biko and concentrate on the prayers. Anytime it's RCCG fast, pregnant women, sick people even newly married couples are exempted. God understands my dear

it also has good reviews on this thread. One advice don't dismantle all the parts to wash. I always did that cuz I wanted everything part to be clean clean clean but the dismantling spoilt it. Now it pumps nothing at all
