What exactly caused you guys to split in the first place? I don't know what transpired between you two, but as someone said earlier, if it wasn't a bigdeal then maybe you should consider and give that ex another chance. I have learnt, from experience, that too many times we tend to make irrational decisions without thoroughly thinking. We may leave an ex thinking and praying that we find someone better,only to end with the "devil's advocate", So seriously, I think you need have a "sit-down" with your ex and outline your "dos" and "don'ts" and then work from there. They say it's better the second time around, Who knows?
