Fhemmmy: Where did you see the beauty pageant?
Of course not. Nothing says Nigerian culture like painting your face in mud while dressed in jeans.

Eko Ile: Please stop the with the weak talk abeg. This is the internet age, not the stone age. Projects are brick and mortar siting on earth soil, not some invisible or below the ground objects.

Whatever projects Ondo state commissioned or is embarking on is on the state's website and it's the same Micky Mouse, substandard and pretentious projects, they are basically lousy reflections of the huge budget in terms of the little population and demand.
SO this is not just a Yoruba/Ibo thing for you. It is a we vs them thingy, as long as the them dont belong in your imperialist party. You are disgusting and honestly God help you the day I meet you in real life. B/a/s/t/a/r/d.

ogugua88: It's not a joke at all. I saw the flyers for it. If I recall, Patience Ozokwor was in attendance.

As for these pageants, they're vain lol. They have similar in California and I refuse to be a part of such. I've also warned my sister against it. The money they spend preparing is more than the top prize lol. Top quality lace/ankara to parade in and a hot bathing suit aren't cheap.

If you win, you can't put it on your resume. I don't know who cares. As for what the winners do, I'm not even sure. These girls won't go home to compete in MBGN anyway. It's just another title thing.
I agree with you. You fine pass them all. You are the finest. The only beauty pageant you shall be doing will be in my bedroom.

dayokanu: President George H W Bush was president of the US, His first son George W Bush was President of the US, His second son Jeb Bush was Governor of a State.

That must mean the Bush are not democrats.

Too many illiterates on this forum
Gbam! + 1 million

This only problem with this comparison is the skin color. I mean Bush is Black, Tinubu is WHite; other than that, The Bush dynasty = Emperor Tinubu's company in all ramifications. grin grin grin

Gbawe: Guys, let us see the big picture. Mimiko has done well and he will probably get a second term to continue his efforts despite Akeredolu being a genuinely progressive candidate and the sort anyone would ordinarily want involved in SW politics at the highest level. Overall, events bode well for the political future of the SW. We need to look beyond the spat of politicians, itself an inevitable by-product of the "dirty game", and focus on why we all involved ourselves in political discussions in the first place i.e the desire to see the development of our States, regions and Nation. If Ondo is witnessing progress under Mimiko, then let that continue.

It is testimony to the positive changes becoming entrenched in the SW that we now see a performing Governor (Mimiko) challenged by a formidable opposition candidate in Akeredolu. The exchange of insults is partisan politics at work and ultimately not relevant enough, IMO, to obstruct from the positives going on here. Of utmost relevance to me is how this is not a battle between light and day , or Jesus and Satan, as was the case in the past. When you have great candidates facing each other, development and progress is the likely reward for the State - whoever wins. This is a situation we should all pray becomes the norm in Nigeria because Partisan politics is essentially a means to an end.
This is deep, mehn. I am impressed. Nothing to criticize. Keep it up.

alj harem: haba, it is not all of us that dislike Tinubu are Omo Ale. Some of us are Omo Oko

I dislike Tinubu and love what Mimiko is doing cuz tinubu want to monopolise power. He is more or less a dictator now.

The certainty of ACN winning Lagos next election is slim.

We support Iroko of the Yoruba race aka Mimiko Omo Ako
I just hope DK is somehow getting paid for his support for everything ACN/Tinubu. I'd be terribly disappointed if he is doing all this for free because no one besides paid posters like Gbawe and Eko-ile can possibly believe in the authenticity of ACN.

At some point, we have to realize that the Nigeria project is way more important than the whims of a select few.

Katsumoto: If those questions were asked by a sane person, I might be inclined to respond but I am not about to engage an old fool.

It's like guests at a king's party responding to a court jester; the only response you will draw from me is laughter (at your tomfoolery in your old age). grin grin grin grin
I am glad you were smart enough to see the stupidity in your statement. Thats why I am here, to put your old a.s.s on the right path.

Hey, call me because I want us to eventually collaborate on a new politial party I plan to float very soon. We will call it KTP, Kanshumoto Tomfoolery Party.

Katsumoto: I get all that; my point is that Yoruba peeps will be the losers for this
And thats because Yoruba people are not already divided? Didnt realize Yorubas are a monolithic, characterless group. Thanks Professor.

just as Americans will pay for the divisiveness in US politics.
Ode oshi. Political parties in America campaign on ideas, and to some extent ideals. "Yes, we can," is an ideal. Anyway, they are not calling each other names so how is that divisive?

Katsumoto: Come on DK, this report is not the first exchange between both parties. They have exchange words a few times.

Like I said, a win at all costs mentality will be divisive for all.
If you dont plan to win at all cost, why get in the race in the first place? Too much intellect is not enough IQ

According to this report, It was the LP who attacked the ACN calling Asiwaju Tinubu an Emperor and not the other way round.
Thats the attack? grin grin grin grin

I thought that was Tinubu's alias? Okay!

Where is Mimiko's freedom of speech right?

Jokes EtcNairaland Wants Your Real Name by antitpiah(op): 9:41am On Jul 25, 2012
It wasn’t always this way. Back before the internet (if you are old enough to remember such a time) there was little opportunity to post anonymous dirty comments, apart for rest room stalls. However, since the advent of Nairaland, it seems like everyone is a critic. Many times it seems as if everyone is a foul-mouthed, brain-dead, ignorant critic in the mould of Sagamite. You know…a comment troll.

Comment sections on Nairaland can be an especially icky part of the internet, but Nairaland owner Seun Osewa is looking to clean up its image by linking your anonymous profile with your Facebook account.

That’s correct, your real name and face may now be associated with all your pointless commentary. Including commentaries about the guy you are cheating on. Yes, Seun wants everything.

A supermod for Nairaland declined to comment today on whether more changes are in store, but it’s easy to imagine that offering accounts with real names is just a first step toward hiding, and eventually eliminating, comments from anonymous forumites. Such steps would do much to improve the perceived quality of Nairaland content.

Seun continues describing the advantages of such a system by saying, “This is your identity, so you’re in the driver’s seat. First off, your name. If you are currently Nairaland user Sagamite, you can now appear as Ponle Sagamu of University of Bristol School of Fucktards, the full name from your Facebook profile (with an actual space in the middle!), along with any photo you uploaded.”

“Next step, your past activity. Maybe you posted a few things way back (all those “I love you Naijababes!!” comments?) that you’d rather not associate with publicly. By clicking “Review my content,” you can see every video, comment or playlist you’ve ever posted, and decide whether you want it associated with your full name before making the change.”

If you don’t want to use your Facebook account, you can refuse, but you are prompted with a second attempt such as, “Are you sure?” Then, like some kind of internet degenerate and fucktardeen, you must explain why you don’t want to use your full name.

Civility and free speech are difficult to balance even among people who agree on things. Add in thousands of anonymous know-it-alls, dimwits arrogating intellectual superiority to themselves and we have, well, the internet as we know it. This is definitely a step in the right direction for Nairaland; whether or not its users will actually start using their real names is another question.
