Itoroetti :hear yourself... so, as a graduate you need prayer to be able to feed yourself. he is not saying he wants to be the richest, he is saying he wants to be able to feed himself and his family or is that too much to ask as a graduate? i am not in support of his criminal act, am just saying when you think, endeavor to make it a balanced one because if he really wants to do crime, he doesn't have to read to the level of PhD in Engineering. and why can't you pray for the for ideas to rule the world or don't you want to? |
“In the 19th century, it was Eugene Pottier’s song ‘The Internationale’ that became the anthem of the Marxism. It urged the ‘servile masses’ to put aside their religious ‘superstitions’ and national allegiances, and make war on the ‘thieves’ and their accomplices, the tyrants, generals, princes and peers”. Can the sheep act the wolf? This is one question I’ll ask a million times even if the answers keep coming as “NO!” There is intense COMPETITION between the shepherds, and the sheep do not know this, instead they roam the arid struggling for every strand of DRY grass that sprouts to WITHER. The shepherds on the other side of the hill fabulously lay on the deep green pasture for everyone to see and only come around the haggard looking sheep whenever there is a need for MILK. He milks her until there is nothing left in her gland to feed her LAMB. Wild animals come at will to FEED on the sheep and surge of flood come at intervals and drown the thirsty ones drinking at the river banks. To all these, the shepherds say everyone lives his DESTINY and that’s the sheep’s. “There is nothing anyone can do about it” they say, “Except if we beg the scorching SUN to reduce its shine on the arid and plead with the raging FLOODS to calm at its bank”. The shepherds’ guiding sticks has turned MAGIC sticks; they fly the skies and float upon the seas with it. They also say it is made of GOLD so it is understandable when it can’t be used on the arid thus, they hang the sticks beautifully in the CORNERS of their tents and try to outnumber their neighbor’s ‘golden sticks’ instead. I look at this situation with great pity. If only the sheep can act the WOLF and make the shepherds FLEE their tents, then, the sheep can feed on the very appetizing pasture that the shepherds only STEPS on. |

Super1759: This man is a lazy hawk. With 27,000 you can start a simple biz and nurture it. Hallmark closed since 7yrs ago and he is still waiting for gov to feed him. *the violent taketh it by force* if he dies, nothing for himthis is why people like you will continue to suffer under bad leadership. fighting for a right is the greatest of all fights but because it is an act strange to ignorant people like you who are the majority in this country, this country will not see liberation from the truly lazy few |
Ujujoan: The guy just wants to die for nothing!you sure do not know the meaning of what you just said..... mumu! he mentioned people whom you never knew that have died as a result of this and because you didn't know them and did not know why they died, they are the ones that died for nothing. now, you like everyone know this man and the reason why he is fighting. if he dies as a result of this, everyone knows and that means he died not just for something but for a course. this is called fighting for a right (a statement strange to ignorant people like you) |
Johnwizzy: I guess Nigeria needs another independent;this time around from Americaentertainment is better because 'thieves' has found a way to enjoy and entertain themselves with the local entertainers. in Ilorin for example, Bukola Saraki had to import entertaiment in form of bringing big musicians from America. Nothing is working and nothing will work with these set of leaders. |
these kind of news just weakens me! i mean, where is the way? |
The very few times we heard the first lady speak in PUBLIC left very embarrassing and SHAMEFUL moments in our memories and the times we hear the President speak with or without his scripts are the most UNINSPIRING moments in the history of this nation. I am not one of those who think the president is gentle or PLACID rather, I believe Mr. President hasn’t found an accommodating ENVIRONMENT in his own country to express himself the way he would have loved to and this is the bitter situation with most of our LEADERS in every arm of government. Many representatives in the legislative arm keep MUTE throughout sittings every year while their more enlightened counterparts feel like KINGS, not because they (‘non-speakers’) wish to be ‘effigies’ but because like the PEOPLE they represent, it is certain they’ll flop on the very SLIPPERY floor of a strange language. For example, the leader of the house of representatives in Oyo state rarely speak a single sentence in English language without ‘heavy’ grammatical errors------ this is our shame and it STINKS to the highest heavens. If it stinks so badly, why can’t anyone smell it? If they can, why can’t the ‘Policy makers’ do anything about it? The language of the people is a great UNIFYING factor. It is like the grease harmonizing and ensuring SMOOTHNESS in the activities of a society and ultimately easing the development of such society. If language is this IMPORTANT, should Nigeria take hers for granted? If a language is given recognition and preference by law because of the number of people speaking it, should Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo languages that have several MILLIONS of people on their list be this NEGLECTED by any government? The population of the YORUBA people for example is far more than that of many countries in the world including that of South Africa that has her ELEVEN local languages legalized by law; to be used officially in every form and at any level of communication. A greater percentage of Nigerians can’t COMMUNICATE orally and otherwise in English language and this to an extent explains the GAP between the leaders and the followers, it also explains reason we have a ‘snail speed’ inter-cultural development rate. Even the so-called learned don’t have a tight grasp of ‘the master’s language’ neither do they really UNDERSTAND the local languages that has been tagged TABOO in our various secondary schools. We have seen the extent of DAMAGE a language misunderstanding can cause when Gen. Buhari recently used a Hausa PROVERB before the elections in 2003. There are also GRAVE damages to individual self esteem of both young and old because of the inability to EXPRESS selves in English language. Nigeria deserves CREATIVITY in her governance and Nigerians are demanding it; We DEMAND creative ways of infusing our culture especially our languages in the development of this nation and not just PROPAGANDA on these very important aspects of our society as we have seen in the PAST. Using just the NYSC as a tool in integrating a multicultural society like ours is like using a STRAND of broom in sweeping debris therefore there is an urgent need to make new policies and amend where necessary LAWS that will bring about the LEGAL usage of our languages at any level of communication. |
