I like the way you dished out those statistics. True Jigawa has been immune to all the banditry and terrorism ravaging the north. ArewaNorth: I'm working in SS I used to see half of the rice people eat there in the name of foreign rice mostly from Jigawa but I hardly see anything from south in Jigawa except processed products from Lagos and Ogun. More than 80% of Jigawa State people are farmers and Agriculture constitute major stake of our GDP. Nigeria has $400b GDP; look at the GDP of different sectors and commodities in Nigeria and assess who control the major stake of Nigeria's economy: Accommodation, food, transportation and real estate: 12.2%, Education, health, science and technology: 6.3%, Farming, forestry and fishing : 30.5%, Manufacturing, mining and quarrying: 11.3% Retail, maintenance, repair, and operations: 24.9% Managerial, finance and insurance: 4.2% Telecommunication, arts and entertainment: 1.8% Other services: 8.8%. Going by the given statistics above it can be seen that Education, health, science and technology, Entertainment, manufacturing, Telecommunication, arts and entertainment that u may claim to have more input are not up to 30.5% of GDP contributed by farming and fishing mainly done by a reasonable proportion of Jigawa people while all other businesses ur people do, Jigawa people are either into them too. There has never been any case of Boko Haram or banditry in Jigawa, infact it is the most peaceful state today in Nigeria. Ranting out of bigotry and fanaticism isn't a choice but concrete reasons and points! |

Rubbiish: Because u can lose your job after marriage is not enough reason to enter marriage unprepared. We humans can die at any given time, that is not enough reason not to prepare for life, we struggle for education, skills etc some of us may end up not using. Planning our retirements of which many won't even get to old age. So losing your job after marriage is unforseen & it is totally different from entering marriage unprepared financially! It is just like saying kids should start impregnating their girlfriend since it is possible they may be unable to give birth after marriage which is very possible, such unplanned mentality can only bring about untold hardship. I never advocated for entering into marriage unprepared without a plan. I merely said entering into marriage is not all about the amount of money you have or level of success. You must have a plan. That's the secret and be disciplined enough to stick to the plan or improve on it when necessary. |
Family › Re: Why Getting Married When You Are Struggling Financially Is A Bad Decision! by aod1(m): 2:31pm On Aug 16, 2021 |
MrBrownJay1: all you people are looking at marriage with a failed vision.... you dont need money to get married, marriage is just an extention of a r/ship sealed by a useless piece of paper....if you guys were broke and could date happily, then there is no reason why you couldnt get married and still be happy. the problem here is that all you people are thinking that a broke couple should do exactly the same thing as one with money, while the couple with little money needs to ADAPT TO THEIR SITUATION until they have enough money to care for a family (aka children etc)
a lot of people are quick to call a man/woman broke because they only have money to take care of their own needs, but the reality is that there are many people who are broke because they paid their rent, put food in the fridge and paid their bills etc. if 2 broke people join hands, then they can EASILY live happily ever after (so long as they dont try to add to their family). so a broke married couple needs to take contraception, need to cut their coat according to their situation and they need to work towards getting a better life situation in order to have kids etc
it takes money for a single person to take care of their basic need... its called LIFE and everyone should be able to take care of their basic needs before thinking of marriage, same for married ones. you dont need "more" money to get married than the money you each had to take care of your basic needs, if your spouse cant/couldnt take care of their basic needs then you shouldnt get married and that person should sort that part of their lives 1st before thinking of getting married, as they are a LIABILITY
as for your hustle statement, no wonder so many men fail in marriage when they think that having money to take care of a liability is the solution to their problem....a liability is a LIABILITY whether you bring more money to the table or not. Let me buttress your point, No matter the amount of money you think you need to save or success you need to have before you marry, what if after the marriage, life happens, I mean you may lose some money, job or the success. So there isn't any guarantee whether you have made money before you marry or not that all will be rosy. The most important thing like you've said is for the couple to make proper plan accordingly. And on the issue of God not blessing/manner, your unbelief has made you not to experience it. I'm a living testimony. Before I asked my wife to marry me, I get 2-3 gigs a year. From the day I sought permission from her parent to marry her, I've not had a full 1 month rest. It's been from one gig to another. You'll be blessed as much as you believe. |

If he checks all other boxes, it means you should be able to help him grow his spiritual life also. Remember you can't change a man except God does. What kind of Christian would you be if you give up on a soul just because you think he's comfortable in sin (in this case he's still a child of God who hasn't found his way home). You didn't save yourself of your own volition, God did. So marry him (except you have other reasons not to) and commit him to God while using your own godly virtues to draw him closer to God |

Fantachapman: The girl I am engaged to and want to marry told me today that i love her more than she loves me. What does this mean?
There was something we were discussing and I told her there are several things that she does that makes me doubt if she truly loves me. She then replied saying, she loved her ex more than he loved her, and so she decided to not love anyone more than she loves them. That as for me, I love her more than she loves me, that’s why I sometimes thinks she doesn’t love me.
I told her this is not something you tell someone you want to marry and she said I am taking it too far.
Please am I making a mistake to want to marry her? Does she love me? Or am I taking her statement too far like she said? In 2011, after reading "so long a letter" our GNS 201 novel, my lecturer then concluded that's it's always better for the man to love the woman more in a marriage. I agree with her wholly. To the OP, she simply told you the truth. The patriarchy society in which we are gives the man leverage over the woman so in most cases the woman is at a loss. So in other for the woman to feel safe, it's usually better for their spouse to love them more. |

chozzy: You're just ignorant of how the rail projects work. It's not about PDP or APC.
Remember, these projects are not funded by Buhari's FG. The Chinese govt finances them directly from Beijing so, what will make them delay? China is not known to abandon projects.
The Ajaokuta - Itakpe - Warri line was over 75% completed when GEJ left office. Chinese CCEC were still working when Buhari/Amaechi took over in 2015.
The Abuja - Kaduna line was nearly 100% completed when GEJ left office. The only remaining thing Amaechi did was the completion of the Idu terminal which the Catholic Church filed a law suit against FG for forcefully taking over their land.
GEJ started the Kaduna - Abuja line in 2011 and by December 2015 it was fully completed. The Chinese govt did not delay that project. The project did not last 10yrs, you lied. GEJ also started the Ajaokuta - Itakpe - Warri line in 2013. It's been completed since 2018. China does not unnecessarily delay projects.
