A mild drama recently occurred in Dakanbi community somewhere in the South West in Nigeria after residents filed out to praise God after they found a chicken in their community clucking what they could interpret as “Olohun Dakun” meaning “God have mercy”.

One of the elderly women said:

This is where the chikens come to eat when they leave their owners house. I sat down and heard the chicken say ''Olohun Dakun''. I said this is a miracle ooo...from the mouth of a chicken? The second day, it stood there again and clucked ''Olohun Dakun''.

I called Iya Kazeem and told her to come that a miracle is happening here, a chicken is clucking Olohun Dakun.''

Another resident, a female, while giving an account of how they found the ''wonder chicken'', said

''You see, on Thursday, a man who I know told me that in the middle of the night, he heard a chicken clucking Olohun Dakun but he didn't see the chicken. When he told us that were with him, I didn't take it serious.

However, when this old woman called me to come and see a chicken that was clucking Olohun Dakun, I went and saw the chicken and we started praising God. I asked who owns the chicken and they told me it is a christain woman living in this neighborhood.

When she came to my shop to buy something, she told me that this is what people were saying about her chicken. I told her it is true. She also witnessed as the chicken again clucked Olohun Dakun and said the chicken was giving a message''

The owner of the chicken, Mummy Blessing also confirmed that her chicken also clucked ''Olohun Dakun''

The residents gathered in front of the chicken as they prayed for God to have mercy.

Some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra have been shocked after they approached Cardinal Francis Arinze in Rome begging him to convince Pope Francis to support Biafra.

Cardinal Arinze is from Anambra state in Nigeria.

In a video shared online, the IPOB members are seen standing with the Nigerian Cardinal in a building in Rome while making their request.

However, Cardinal Arinze, 88, was not on the same page with them as regards secession and he made this known.

"It is those who did not see the civil war who are talking 'Biafra, Biafra'. They have no idea," Cardinal Arinze told the IPOB members.

The Cardinal added that citizens being separated is "not the mandate Christ gave to the Bishops."

He encouraged the IPOB members to join politics instead and bring about the change they want to see in Nigeria.

He said: "It is for people like you. You get into politics and work hard with others."

Cardinal Arinze was one of the principal advisors to Pope John Paul II. He was also considered a possible candidate to be elected Catholic Pope before the 2005 papal conclave, which elected Pope Benedict XVI.

The deaths were recorded in the early hours of today, May 27, in Shikaan Mbagena Kpav Katsina Ala area of Benue of state.

A young woman has declared missing after she was kidnapped by unknown Men in Lagos state.

It was gathered that she was Kidnapped yesterday, May 26 while she was on her way to National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, office.

According to a twitter user who said the victim is his sister in-law, she was kidnapped at Ikeja.

According to him, they have met the demands of the abductors and they are yet to release her and her phone line used in talking to them is switched off.

Taking to his twitter handle, he gave his contact ‘08181041689’ for anyone to reach if the woman is seen.

More than 100 people are missing and feared dead after a riverboat with more than 165 passengers, including women and children, broke up and sank.

It was gathered that 22 people were rescued and five bodies recovered, including a baby less than one year old.

The sad and regrettable incident was confirmed in a statement by the Kebbi State Emergency Management Agency chairman, Sani Dododo.

According to him, the boat capsized in the hours on Wednesday May 26, adding that the mother of the infant had not been identified.

Eleven rescue boats and divers were searching for about 138 missing passengers.

One passenger rescued from the boat, Shehu Bello, said five children were with him when the boat sank and all of them were still missing.

He said, “Two of the children are mine, while the other three are the children of my brother.”

Mr Bello said the boat broke apart suddenly and then started to sink.

It was unclear what caused the boat to break up as it was traveling on the Niger River from Nigeria’s Niger state to the town of Wara in Kebbi state.

Qasimu Umar Wara, a resident of Wara town, said many of the passengers were returning from a newly discovered gold vein in Niger.

He said, “They usually go there in the evenings and return to Wara in the morning,”.

“Most of them are petty traders, food vendors and the local miners.

A video making rounds online has captured moment three "Slay Queens" were placed in handcuffs after the man who brought them to a Ghanaian hotel, fled without settling the bill accrued.

Atinka News reported that while in handcuff, the women continued to argue among themselves as to who is to blame for their ordeal.

In spite of the argument, they reportedly could not come up with the amount needed and neither could they produce the man they came to the hotel with.
