Heard episode 5 has been leaked..not sure how true
If 5 had leaked someone would have sent me a raven by now. I also dispatched scouts to search far and wide but so far they have brought no news. We are now back at the mercy of regular TV scheduling.

Let us all pray to the mother that she may be merciful and send a pirate our way. smiley

One of the positives to take from the defeat of the incumbent is that power has finally returned to the people contrary to what we were hitherto made to believe by PDP.
Discourse as this is an offshoot of a ds democratic process and my believe is that in no distant future as we consistently focus on developmental issues such as this rather than sentimental and emotional ranting about religion and tribe no politician will have the nerve to ever take us for a ride as it has been in the past.
Well said, well said!

All those people who come here and dismiss discussions like this don't have the best interest of the country at heart, they are only driven by their party affiliations and political interests.

Nigeria has successfully transitioned from one party to another (well by May 29 it will be official). That's a good thing. We have changed leaders, now the followers should change their approach. That means that we should be critical of whatever our leaders propose promise or do. The era of blindly accepting whatever these politicians throw at us has passed. Keep them on their toes from day 1 so they don't sleep.

When Buhari says X, people should ask how? We shouldn't start clapping and heaping praises as though we stand before a deity that cannot be mistaken.

Threads of this nature should be encouraged!

I do not support paying any money to unemployed graduates or vulnerable families. But I wholeheartedly support school feeding. Several models have shown that it increases the enrolment in primary schools astronomically. We need our kids educated. The other day in Abuja, I saw a young boy hawking groundnut close to a garden where I was having lunch with a friend. Almost everyone there was asking the boy why he was not in school. Turned out the boy's mother is a widow who is finding it hard to cater to the family's needs, hence all her kids are being mobilized to hawk to augment what she makes in one of the outskirt markets in the FCT.

Now sending those kids to school where they are sure of a full stomach for the afternoon will make a big difference. This should be the first social program Buhari should face.
Beautiful, but the question before us now is this proposal possible and if so why will it accomplished?

Despite the fact that I know buhari and apc will and cannot deliver anything tangible or meaningful ,I think it is uncalled for and not wise to criticize a govt that hasn't even been sworn in. We are not even sure the govt will come into effect. It is like condemning a building or car which is still at its designing stage.
Surely you must be aware that many projects are cancelled or restructured during the design stage. There is nothing wrong with discussing the viability of the proposals Buhari has made, even before he assumes office.

The great thing this election is going to produce is an ideological debate in Nigeria. We have to now discuss government and its responsible. Also, who bears the cost of government nanny state programs and why. Money will become a central topic in the country in a way its has never been. I have to thank the Nigerian people for giving us this chance.

APC come and perform your miracles.
This is how it should be! Unfortunately some people see threads like this as bad and borne out of bitterness. Let those who are convinced that Buhari's proposals are feasible and what the country needs share their conviction. They should demonstrate how these plans will work. We all stand to learn something.

PoliticsRe: Buhari's Social Program: Very Possible. by ApexTitan(m): 2:55pm On Apr 20, 2015
Funny seeing people say that in their opinion they think Buhari's welfare plan is doable - this is not a matter of opinions, it all boils down to figures and apparently many people here think that it's all as easy as 1+1

By this time next year people will know for a fact what they felt their opinions told them.

I find it bemusing that out of sheer idleness and blind hate some persons deem it fit to unecessarily nit pic GMB/APC manifestos.

A trait they refuse to subject GEJ/PDP manifestos to.

Isnt it Hypocrisy?
It is actually a good thing that people are scrutinising what their leaders say. The era where people just followed blindly did a lot of damage.

She is the true heir to the throne. Well, armon (that old blind nights watch guy) is. But since he has taken the night watch vow, she is the only true heir left. Seeing as she is the daughter of rhaegher and armon was his brother.
Let's thread carefully with our discussions lest the we attract the wrath of the Nairaland highlords and their banning hammers. No spoilers or events from the books. But I think we can base the discussions on what has been shown so far in the series.

Didn't Deanery's ancestors, her father or was it her grandfather, actually claim the iron throne by defeating the lords of the seven kingdoms of Westeros? Was it not king Robert who eventually ousted the last Targaryan, the mad king who was Deanery's father? Her claim to that throne, in fact all Targaryans claim, ended with her father's death. Right now every lord of the seven kingdoms has a fighting chance to snatch total power. There was no special arrangement that stated that the Targaryans were to rule for all eternity.

That's why I say that Deanerys is only fighting because she feels the throne is her entitlement. It is that sense of entitlement that annoys me. She is alreadying seeing how difficult it is to rule in Mereen, how much more will it be at Kings Landing?

The stress is too much for her, let her take her dragons and go settle down somewhere quiet that is if the dragons don't eat her first. cheesy

Just borrow some gold from the Iron Bank, buy an army of assassins, visit Mereen and kill her.
I will need some gold, true, but I won't borrow from the Iron Bank, that may force me into a situation where I will be financially indebted to them for life. I will need to source my gold from somewhere else, perhaps from a wealthy merchant or lord who has designs on wielding some political power but who I can easily eliminate maybe a distant relative of the Lannisters or a merchant like Illyrio. And no I won't hire an army of assassins, just one or two from the House of Black and White where Jaqen H'gar came from. That should suffice. They won't kill Daenerys, they'll kidnap her and take her to my underground lair in the caves just south of the Iron Islands in the sunset sea where she will be held until a time of my choosing. What she will be doing in my captivity I refuse to discuss but she will be dealth with for daring to assume the iron throne.
TV/MoviesRe: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by ApexTitan(m): 9:22pm On Apr 19, 2015
Deanerys is having trouble in Mereen. Avoidable and unnecessary trouble. I hope she gets dealth with there eventually since she does not know that she should be marching west to Westeros where all the action is. Anyway other than the fact that she comes from a famous family line I think she has no business vying for the iron throne. Let the sons of Harpi deal with her and her unsullied.

And this is where I disagree, let me explain further, I was Born a Christian, and In my Nigerian Passport, I have Christianity as My religion, I have been baptized and I have a baptisimal certificate to prove so, I believe I should be able, to an extent, explain some of the intricacies of Christian Theology/dogma, you see, in the real sense of Christianity, The Religion does not support a body like CAN, it is not written in The bible, That followers of Jesus The christ, should have an Apex body that unites various christian bodies with contradicting Religious Ideologies together, Rather the Bible calls people who engage in such activities Hypocrites, so in Retrospect, Jesus The Christ would be happy (if he were on earth today) to see that a fraudulent christian Body, Like CAN is Investigated. Not to talk of The President Elect. Or God Willing The President of Nigeria come may 29, haba, Sai Baba does not condone any form of corruption. Be it church or Mosque corruption.
Let us not drag the Lord Christ into this.

By all means also let CAN be investigated if they so desire but suggesting that it should be Buhari, the president of Nigeria who is himself a muslim, that should do the investigating is unwise.
