Aproko247 can authoritatively and exclusively report Nigeria’s fast-rising singer, Tito Da Fire, had a rough time with some men of the Nigerian police in Lagos recently.

The former Raypower FM presenter, whose latest singles ‘Pour Me Water’ and ‘Bring Ur Lovin Back’ are presently gaining massive reviews, is embroiled in yet another controversy, this time with the law.

Sources informed Aproko247 that Tito Da Fire and his crew comprising about 15 people were apprehended by security personnels attached to Alausa police station, Ikeja and the Lagos State House of Assembly at around 11pm on Sunday, February 10, 2013.

Our sources maintained that Tito and his crew were seen around a garden opposite the House of Assembly premises that day, which drew the attention of the law enforcement agents.

You will recall that activities around the Lagos State secretariat in Alausa has been under close watch of security operatives since late 2012.

Tito was said to have been shooting a music video of his song, ‘Land Of Promise’ when the incident occurred.

A team of policemen led by an Inspector attached to the Alausa station reportedly seized the crew’s equipment ranging from HD video cameras, HMI lights, a jib crane.

Tito then reportedly put a call through to the Chief Security Officer, CSO, at the State House Of Assembly before he was let go by the policemen who nabbed him.

When contacted on this story, Tito confirmed the story to Aproko247. In an SMS to Aproko247, Tito disclosed, “it happened, my lawyer is on top of it. Thanks.”

The federal government has hinted that it would establish mega universities in Nigeria to solve admission problems being faced by students.

The FG said when built, the mega universities will absorb 200,000 students each, which will thereby tackle the menace of admission shortages being experienced by many qualified university students in Nigeria.

President Jonathan, represented by Vice President, Namadi Sambo, made this known on Saturday in Zaria, Kaduna State at the special convocation and launching of N50billion Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Phase II Development Fund at the school’s main campus in Samaru, Zaria.

He, however, didn’t disclose the number of such mega universities to be set up by the government.

President Jonathan expressed concern over the limited number of admission slots available for university admission seekers in the country.

A proposed bill to pay monthly stipends to unemployed graduates in Nigeria suffered setback on the floor of the House of Representatives.

The bill, sponsored by Hon Arua Arunsi, was rejected through a voice vote by majority of the House members.

The bill seeks for an Act to amend the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) laws, 2004, by creating some specific functions to cater for unemployed graduates of tertiary institutions.

Some opposing members of the bill argued that paying a monthly stipend to unemployed graduates in Nigeria would compound to the economic woes of the country.

They said that the programme would further make its beneficiaries lazy as they will feel relaxed to get a job since a regular amount of money gets to them on a monthly basis.

The lawmakers also explained that the programme might be hijacked as the list of beneficiaries will swell with various names. They said the programme might be another source of corruption.

However, the supporters of the bill maintained that Nigeria is rich enough to pay her unemployed graduates monthly stipends.

They said the programme with take many unemployed graduates off social vices. Hassan El-Badawy, Peace Nnaji and Fort Dike supported the bill while James Faleke, Essien Ayi and Peter Onyemaechi, House Committee Chairman on Labour and Productivity, opposed the bill.

The candlelight procession to honour murdered Nigerian singer, Damilola Ibrahim Olaniyan, better known as Damino Damoche, was held on Saturday night in Lagos.

Damoche was murdered by suspected cultists on Thursday evening at the Lagos State University, LASU, main gate in Ojo.

Though Aproko247 couldn’t get images from his burial reportedly held in Badagry on Saturday morning, we were able to obtain images from the candlelight procession held in his honour.

Aproko247 reliably gathered from witnesses that colleagues of late Damoche in the music industry shunned the event as most of them didn’t show up.

One of the participants said, “I hate Nigeria music industry. We expected some of his friends in the industry to come around but no one showed up. I am an entertainer and not an artiste, but we need to show love and last respect for the dead.”

Aproko247 further gathered that only Zeeworld, a fast-rising up and coming artiste, was present at the event, along with few relatively known artistes.

Zeeworld was reportedly angry at the treatment late Damoche got from his colleagues in the entertainment industry.

The candlelight procession took place at late Damoche’s parents’ house located at Ile-Pako area of Agege, Lagos, Aproko247 learnt.

Aproko247 has confirmed that ailing Nigerian actress, Ngozi Nwosu, has touched down the Queen’s land for treatment of her kidney and heart related diseases.

She left the shores of Nigeria on Tuesday night via British Airways flight at 11:45pm, Aproko247 reliably gathered.

Bononline has reported on its website that
Nigerian actor, Kelvin Ikeduba, escaped
death by whiskers on Saturday afternoon
when he was involved in an auto accident.

The lanky actor was reportedly on his way
to Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, from
Ibadan, Oyo State, when his vehicle was
involved in the road accident.

The car, as reported, somersaulted three
times but no fatality was recorded in the

Nigerian singer, Lanre Teriba, popularly
known as Atorise, was shot in the leg in
South Africa last week Friday.

MetroNews reported that the gospel
singer was in South Africa with Dele Taiwo
some days back for a Valentine show
tagged ‘Praise Night concert in South
Africa’.

Aproko247 learnt that the concert was
held at West End Theater, G2 Entrance,
Pretoria Show Ground, Pretoria West, on
Friday, February 15.

Trouble started, as Aproko247 gathered,
when some assailants attacked Atorise
shortly after the show ended.

Valuable items like his Blackberry Porch,
Ipad, gold wrist watch and some money
were stolen from him while he got shot in
the leg by the unknown gunmen.

He has since recovered from the wound
sustained from the gunshot after he was
treated at a nearby hospital in Pretoria.

to Atorise who confirmed the story to us.

The singer is said to be prepared to
perform on Saturday (today) night at an
event tagged ‘Praise Night 2′ which will

A Lagos-based soft-sell magazine, E247 has reported that Funke Akindele's husband's mistress, Modinat Dada, has been delivered of a baby boy. The boy was given birth to in January 2013 as reported.

This is the seventh child the 'Oshodi big boy', Kehinde Almaroof, is having. The politician and estate developer reportedly met Modinat some years ago when the latter visited her sister, who rented a property belonging Almaroof in Oshodi.

It was gathered that Almaroof was conspicuously missing at the private and low key naming ceremony held for the boy at his mother’s Agege, Lagos home.

Modinat's friends and family members were said to have graced the christening of the child.

The Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV, as sources informed Aproko247, is a brand new ‘toy’ recently taken delivery of by the singer.

A moment ago, blackberry broadcast messages went viral informing many that the MTN Project Fame show presenter had lost his green Toyota Camry 2007 car to men of the underworld.

numbers given in the said Blackberry broadcast, a close friend of Joseph who spoke to Aproko247, informed us that the car has been found.

He said that the car was tracked to Iyana Ipaja, a suburb of Lagos, through the help of a car track device installed in the car.

According to what was confirmed to us by the Lagos State chairman of AGN, Emeka Rising, while contacted on phone over the news, Lugard Onoyemu, a former Lagos State AGN Secretary under Emeka Rising, died yesterday at the National Stadium.

It was reliably gathered that Lugard slumped at about 5:30pm while he was at the Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. Before his death, we learnt that late Lugard was hale and hearty.

His death has left some of his members
devastated especially Emeka Rising under
whose administration the late actor served as secretary.

The death of Nigeria’s ‘Lady Gaga’, Goldie
Harvey has left people devastated. What has left more puzzles than solutions is the
mysterious way she passed on.

Information gathered by Aproko247 indicated that Goldie was declared dead by the doctors on arrival at Reddington hospital, Lagos, around 7:30pm, according to Kennis Music official press release.

A source at the hospital told our
correspondent that Goldie was brought to the hospital dead at around 7:55pm.

Going by information gathered by Aproko247, Goldie reportedly slumped some moments after she arrived from the United States of America, USA, where she went for the Grammy Awards held last week.

But before she slumped, a source told our
correspondent that she had complained of
severe headache. She was reportedly rushed to the hospital by Denrele where the doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

“Even Denrele thought it was something not
too serious until the doctors told him that
Goldie is gone,” our source said.

Her body has now been deposited at the
mortuary of the Lagos University Teaching
Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos. Burial arrangements
will be made known by the family.

Goldie was aged 30 before her death. She
would have been 31 in October. She hails from Ekiti State. Goldie represented Nigeria at the 2012 edition of Big Brother Africa Stargame show held in South Africa.

A novelty match was played in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, last week Wednesday in honour of late veteran theatre arts practitioner, Pa Akin Ogungbe.

The fun-filled and interesting match was
played between Association of Theatre Arts Practitioners of Nigeria, ANTP, and Radio and Television Theatre Arts Workers Union, RATTAWU, at the MKO International Stadium, Abeokuta.

A mobile police sergeant simply identified
through his uniform to be Pius Stephen, with
force number 196824, was on Thursday
evening, killed by a hit and truck driver in
Lagos.

Eyewitnesses told Aproko247 that Stephen
was allegedly riding his motorcycle on the
popular Lagos/Apapa Expressway when the
truck driver hit him around at Sadiku bus stop on the expressway. The truck driver,
thereafter, reportedly fled with his truck.

Stephen was badly injured as an eyewitness
told Aproko247 that his head was smashed on the culvert that divided the expressway.

It took efforts by some military men to pull him to the other side of the expressway as passers-by watched him as he struggled to survive until he finally gave up the ghost.

Police Division, as at press time, took his
remains to their station.

A police officer at the scene of the incident, who begged for anonymity, told Aproko247 that late Stephen is a mobile police officer from Mopol 20 in Lagos. He (the police source) said that his body would be deposited at the mortuary while the family of the deceased will contacted.

Report just reaching Aproko247 from one of our i-reporters has it that a Prado Jeep with Lagos registration number DS 156 GGE went up in flames along the popular Lagos/Ibadan
Expressway on Sunday afternoon.

The i-reporter, who claimed to be close to the
scene of the incident, and sent some exclusive pictures to us, said that the accident occurred around Demola Petrol Station just before Blackstone Asphalt Plant and Quarry site on the expressway.

However, no life was lost to the inferno. Efforts
made by one of our correspondents to confirm
this incident from men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, proved abortive as several calls put through to their numbers were not answered as at press time.
