The wedding ceremony between Hon Rotimi
Makinde and his lover, Oyebanke Oyelami,
took place on today (Saturday) in Osun State
amid pomp and pageantry. Makinde, a
Yoruba actor-turned politician and also a
divorcee, walked down the aisle with his new
bride, a beauty queen in Osun State.

Friends and family members of the new

as those from his former constituency,
Nollywood, stormed the venue of the
ceremony to honour the lawmaker, who is
taking another shot in the institution of

PoliticsBoko Haram Will Die If OBJ, IBB, Others Can Advise Jonathan--anenih by aproko247(op): 9:43pm On Aug 11, 2013
The chairman, Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP, Tony Anenih, has called on some former Nigerian leaders to genuinely advise President Goodluck Jonathan on issues bordering on Boko Haram insurgents in the north.

The 80-year-old politician made this plea in Abuja during a reception held at the International Conference Centre, ICC, Abuja, on Sunday.

According to the retired police officer, the likes of Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, Abdusalami Abubakar, Theophilous Danjuma, amongst others can bring peace to the country.

"I will like to appeal to Obasanjo, IBB, Abdusalami, Danjuma to advise Jonathan genuinely to move the country forward. Nigeria needs peace," Anenih begged, adding that, "if these men can come together to advise Jonathan, Boko Haram will die."

There have been speculations that President Jonathan and Obasanjo are not in good terms.
The issue of Boko Haram in Nigeria has become a menace to the country. The group intensified its attacks shortly after Jonathan assumed office as Nigeria's leader.

The north had reportedly threatened to make the country ungovernable for President Jonathan if the region does not complete its eight years term it should have spent in power, which was cut short with the death of late President Yar'Adua's in 2010.

The incessant attacks by the group forced President Jonathan to declare state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States in May 2013. The three states are still under emergency rule.

PoliticsAngry Lagos Youths Beat House Of Reps Member by aproko247(op): 7:35pm On Aug 08, 2013
Naijahottestgist has reported that some angry youths in Lagos gave a member of the House of Representatives, Yomi Ogunusi, the beating of his life on Wednesday after the lawmaker only returned to his constituency for the first time since he won at the election in 2011.

Ogunusi would have died from the assault if not for God and the prompt intervention of some policemen who came to his rescue.

It was reported that the legislator representing Ifako Ijaiye Constituency in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, NASS, was at the ward meeting of the All Progressive Congress, APC, held at the party's secretariat in the area when the angry party faithfuls pounced on him.

The youths were angry at the lawmaker because he allegedly abandoned them and refused to pick their repeated calls to his four mobile phone numbers since he moved to Abuja to represent them at the NASS.

When he stormed the ward meeting on Wednesday, he was reportedly asked to go back since he has allegedly not done anything to better their lives. It was when he refused to obey their order that the youth dealt with him, tearing his T-shirt in the process. He was later whisked away in his black Lexus jeep.

Meanwhile, when contacted by Naijahottestgist, he neither picked nor replied calls and text message sent to him.

CelebritiesGlo In 2011 'win A Trip To Dubai' Promo Scam As Winners Yet To Step Airport by aproko247(op): 2:19pm On Aug 05, 2013
When you listen to radio or watch television these days, you are sure to see the new Globacom Telecommunications advert which moved from using “Rule Your World” as their pay off line to using “Glo Unlimited”. But the one million dollar question here is: Is Glo Truly Unlimited? If it is, how unlimited it is?

By the time you are through with this story, you would form your own opinion.

But as far as this magazine is concerned, in the context of this story and its findings, it is a clear case of “Fraud Unlimited”.

Lasisi Alliu Olasunkanmi is a hard-working bricklayer in his late 20s and a Glo mobile subscriber. He is based in Ayobo-Ipaja, a Lagos suburb. Sometime in September 2011, he was on site working when his phone rang and on looking at the display the caller’s number was 121.

Impulsively, he picked the call and he could not believe what the caller said. He was told his number had emerged as one of the lucky winners in the on-going Glo promotion at that time for an all expenses paid 'Trip To Dubai' for three days and that he should come to Glo office. At first, as a Nigerian, he wanted to dismiss the call as one of the usual tricks by fraudsters looking for unsuspecting victims to exploit.

So, he intelligently asked that how much should he bring along and he was told that he didn’t need to bring any money.

He was asked whether he has international passport and driver’s license. And he responded that he has only the international passport. He was told to come all the same to their Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island Headquarters.

So, when he got home from work he went straight to his pastor, Rev. T.A. Babatunde who also as Nigerian told him that the caller must be a fraudster but promised go with him all the same to Glo office on the appointed date to confirm.
Mean while, he had been given this number: 08055570212 when he was called with 121, said to belong to one Mr Bankole in the Glo Marketing Communication Department for him to call when he get to their office. And when he and his pastor got to Glo office, they called and met with the said Mr Bankole who cross-checked his number on their data base.

His number was the first on the 'Trip To Dubai' list and he was congratulated by Mr Bankole. He didn’t know that the congratulations was all he was going to get as the dream of travelling to Dubai for three days began to 'glow' on the screen of his mind.

He was later told to bring his international passport few days after which he did on a Monday. And afterwards, he was given an appointment, like they must have told other winners to come on a particular day for the formalities.

On the appointed date, all the Glo ambassadors were reportedly on ground with other winners and they were all given either dummy checks or dummy tickets as applicable. There were three different categories of winners in the promotion.

First category won one million naira, second category won Trip to Dubai and third category won Watch Man. United Live in the UK. And that was when the part of the fraud called promotion was committed against the whole Nigerians.

The pictures of the winners were all taken and the next day it hit the centre spread of some national dailies to convince everyone that it was real. But Alliu’s case as you read this and three other established cases; Adediran Folashade in Osun state, Adebola Olasimbo in Yaba Lagos and Taiwo Ariyo Nurudeen in Osun state, has proven otherwise.

If anything, it has been 'Fraud Unlimited' since 2011.

After their images had been fraudulently used to project the image of Glo as socially responsible organisation in the national dailies and making other Nigerians to believe the national lie, they were told to keep calling Mr Bankole who told them they would be travelling by January, 2012. But when they called him in January, he said there was a fuel subsidy removal crisis and that flight could not operate. So, he urged to tarry a little till after the crisis would be resolved.

But alas, when the 'Occupy Nigeria' was over, it became 'Occupy Mr Bankole’s Phone' as he constantly refused to pick their calls any more. Each time they tried his line with another phone, the line would go off once he realised it was any of them calling.

In the course of investigating this story, our reporter also tried Mr Bankole’s line and the response was constantly that the line had been diverted to another line which did not have enough credit to receive calls.

A Glo official in the marketing 'communications' department not having enough credit on his line to receive calls? That smacks of another fraud on its own.

But not satisfied yet, the reporter paid a visit to Glo office on Victoria Island to get the other side of the story. On getting to the gilded Mike Adenuga Tower, on Mike Adenuga Close, Off Adeola Odeku street, this reporter was redirected by one of the security guys to 3, Ologun Agbeje street, just adjacent to the Mike Adenuga Close where the Marketing Communication arm of the company was said to be located.

And the drama began. First, the ill-trained security guys said they could not direct our reporter to anyone who could speak for Glo. But not satisfied, this reporter insisted he had to see someone due to the magnitude of the story. And when the security guys realised that this reporter was not ready to give up, they told him to approach a particular averagely tall Ibo man with a little heavy moustache said to be in the PR section who was about to make his way in from the gate. And that’s what this reporter did.

"Who told you to ask for me," he fired. "Nobody. I only need someone I can speak with over a story of fraud involving Glo that I’m working on," this reporter replied. But he kept moving away towards the entrance into their office without saying a word and this reporter needed to ask him whether he should follow him before he reluctantly gestured yes.

On entering the reception and the facts of the case were presented to him by way of printed copies of Alliu carrying their dummy ticket and his picture appearing as number one winner in the Sun newspaper. The PR man, who said he was not with Glo when the promo was staged in 2011, asked a dumb question.

"Are you sure this in not photoshop?" And this reporter almost responded that: "no, it’s photosupermarket!"

And as if that folly of his was not enough, when he requested to go and make photocopies of the exhibits, he later came out with one of the security guys at the gate who had gone in to ask this reporter: "what did you tell him at the gate (gesturing to the security guy)?" And looking very embarrassed, this reporter responded: "what did he tell you I told him?" "I’m asking you a question," he said authoritatively. And being well prepared for a situation like that, "I’m asking you a question too," this reporter responded. And when he realised this dude is a hard nut to crack, "he said you told him you are a student carrying out a research on Glo," he challenged.

Isn’t that funny? Would a student brandish a press ID card to enter a place where he has not come to seek a favour but assist them in telling their own side of a reputation damaging story?
Besides, what is that compared to the issue on ground? And here is a PR man for that matter who also said it was a crime for a journalist to possess the ID card of a media house he freelances for. Glo is truly a Nigerian company.

However, he made the photocopies he requested and returned the original copies. He asked for full name of this reporter, email address and phone number which were all written on the back of his photocopies including this blog’s address. Few minutes later, this reporter took his leave after the rain that was falling had subsided. And that was on Thursday, 18th July, 2013.

By the morning of Friday, 19th July around 10 am, the PR man called this reporter with this number: 08055578671 asking for the phone number with which Alliu won his Trip to Dubai. And he was told it was not only Alliu that is in that situation. He responded that others number should be sent as a text message too. He was sent two of the four numbers on Saturday, 20th July, 2013.

Later in the evening, he replied with a text message that he had forwarded the numbers to the person who would verify them. But it’s been a week after; no response has come from Glo. A call was put to the PR man on Thursday, 25th July, and he said the person carrying out the cross-checking had not got back to him. And he even promised to text the number of the 'slow' verifier to this reporter which he has refused to do as you read this.

The question here is: doesn’t Glo have a data base from which the verification could be done in few minutes, if they really want to do it. That smacks of a conspiracy of silence within the Marketing Communication arm of Glo because the PR man during his rude encounter with our reporter hinted that the said Mr Bankole "is still in the system."

Perhaps, he must have substituted Alliu and others with members of his own family thinking they would remain voiceless forever. But now that our reporter is on it, there is no resting for the bad egg until these four winners get their deliverables as deserved.

PS: Probably due to printer’s devil, Alliu’s name is mistakenly written as Olasunkanmi Taofeek (Lagos) in the Sun publication. But his face is unmistakably on it. The story continues and it’s ready to 'go unlimited' not 'Glo unlimited'.

CelebritiesNobody Is Suing Stella For Bigamy—publicist by aproko247(op): 11:44am On Aug 05, 2013
The publicist of sultry actress, Stella Damasus, Square Image Associates, SIA, has rubbished online reports that the screen goddess might be sued by her estranged husband, Emeka Nzeribe, for bigamy.

Some days ago, news went viral that the Delta State-born role interpreter might face the law for allegedly marrying two different men at the same time, an offence punishable by the law with a jail term.

The report had based its fact on a purported discussion Nzeribe had with some of his friends claiming he has not fully divorced the actress, who is allegedly married to Nollywood producer and director, Daniel Ademinokan.

Speaking exclusively to Aproko247 on the matter, SIA debunked the media reports, and said that, “I don’t know where this is coming from. It is obvious that some idle people are fabricating this.”

“Does any of those spreading the rumour have an evidence?,” SIA asked, warning that, “they (bloggers) should stop feeding the public with baseless stuff, particularly about Stella.”

Stella has been in the news lately for allegedly snatching Daniel Ademinokan from fellow actress, Doris Simeon. Both Stella and Daniel have severally stated that they are just business friends and not lovers as speculated.

Nairaland GeneralEXPOSED! Where UNILAG Babes Sell Their Ovaries For N120k by aproko247(op): 8:37pm On Jul 30, 2013
A reputable news website has exposed an office where female students of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, Akoka, sell their ovaries for a paltry sum of N120,000. Incredible? Read the full gist here.

It is now a known fact that some failed Yahoo boys and even non Yahoo boys now fly to Malaysia just to do one business: sell their kidneys.

We are here to tell you that some ladies, mostly students from the business oriented University of Lagos, do not to need to travel. They sell their ovaries here in Nigeria for N120,000!

This implies that some of the pregnant women rejoicing and boasting with their pregnancy are actually bearing eggs via other women’s ovaries.

Just recently when yours truly visited the head office of the company responsible for this weird business, Nordica Ltd, at Norman Williams Street off Keffi bus stop, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, a man and his pregnant wife were leaving the building. Did I hear you say, satisfied customers? I bet you are damn right.

Our investigation reveals that many students from Unilag and some ladies who are in dire need of cash troop to this office on a daily basis to sell this key reproduction organ.

We also gathered they have another office at No 6,Turton Street Sabo Yaba, behind Zone E-Centre. We discovered that the girls are told to come during their Menstrual period for a perfect hatch.

BusinessHow Crisis-ridden Diamond Bank Was Shut By Labour Union, Bank Turns Slave Den by aproko247(op): 8:42am On Jul 19, 2013
The popular saying that thunder doesn’t strike twice in the same place does not seem to apply to the crisis which is rocking Diamond Bank presently. Because in the case of this bank, thunder can struck more than three times.

Weeks back, when Mi5 reported a fraud in the bank, which took place in Osogbo, Osun State, some people felt that it was a normal thing that happens in every financial institution. Then, we emphasized the need for customers to beware of the bank and some wise people called to confirm if the development was indeed true.

That story was again followed by another which called the attention of customers to a N.8 million internet fraud which took place in the bank with no reasonable explanation coming from them. For the victim, it was so bad that his children and wife basically suffered, as they had to beg for food to survive, all because of Diamond Bank.

The bad wind which has being blowing towards the bank continued only recently when the former head office of Diamond Bank located on Plot 1264, Adeola Hopewell Street, Victoria Island, Lagos was shut down by the Labour Union, due to the poor and inhumane treatment which the bank has being meting out to its employees, especially the contract staffs.

Interestingly, this is not the first time the bank’s office will be shut down by the Labour Union, an evidence of a consistent lackadaisical approach to affairs and welfare of their staffers.

Mi5 was informed that the working condition of the staffers in the bank which prides itself as the bank to do business with is very poor, as most of its contract personnel are not well treated. The source, who is a staff of the bank told our reporter that there is no good pay for these contract staffers and they are not entitled to goodies being given to staff of the bank.

It will be recalled that only last month, associate staffs such as drivers, office assistants and other low cadre of staffers were sacked without pay and this led to a protest of sort which threw the shameless management of the bank into a frenzy, as they were bent on making sure no media house got wind of the situation, many thanks to Channels Television whom broadcast it.

The scene of the recent lock down by the Labour Union was an eye sore, as passers-by wondered what was happening, with some after hearing the whole details wondering what sort of bank will refuse to pay its workers despite making huge profit.

It is indeed a shame that the heartless management of Diamond Bank will turn their backs at people who have dedicated their lives to the bank for over 16 and instead of paying them their deserved gratuity they are sent off their premises for not just reason despite the fact that the salary margin between these contract staffs who do the more tedious work in the organization is just chicken feed.

As it stands, most customers of Diamond Bank are warned to beware of a bank which would use people for several years and suddenly dump them, as these treated which is now synonymous with this bank is gradually finding its way to their customers too.

You will recall that we told you recently of how the bank and its staffs now tamper with customers accounts. The popular saying to be fore warned is to be fore armed seems the best advice presently.

Below is a cross section of reaction from a set of people who have been monitoring the whole situation and it exposes the true nature of the financial institution Diamond Bank.

***Diamond Bank una wahala dey increase every day….make una close shop if market no dey again. This is barbaric!

*****News really fly! I work on same street and the traffic on Adeola Hopewell is bad. Yes it’s true, Diamond Bank occupying NBA building close to law sch shut out. I saw people with uniform, guess they are the union and aggrieved staff, police and people with cameras. Diamond Bank stop this.

****IRENE BERNARDS said: This bank uses contract staff and at the slightest opportunity, they sack them.

****The bank is obviously folding and redundancy is the case. Good to know that the Labour Union is working. I pray the outcome is good.

*****Going to withdraw my last 5000 naira.

****Larry Johnson said: I was about sending u a tweet about this. This is very true, my sister is still outside. NLC has shut down the generator and locked their gates. They are presently in their car park gisting. How can you be a contract staff for 15 years! Who are you guys fooling some one puts in 15 years of their life in a company and you call them contract staff?

****Samadina, all,the branches are having Operational issues today, in Abj, Ph, owerri, Awka..guess its same in lag. Look seriously, i am beginning to be afraid me. Once this is resolved, I am withdrawing every dime I have with Diamond. GTB doesn’t inconvenience me like this. If Diamond Bank is your bank, the next line of action should not be hard to imagine.

Christianity EtcLagos Church Where Beer, Whisky Are Served; Animal Slaughtered As Sacrifice by aproko247(op): 8:02am On Jul 19, 2013
Welcome to a weird church where animals are freely slaughtered for sacrifice. As you step into this place of worship, you are confronted with the sight of a spot on the right that will make you conclude that you may have strayed into a slaughterhouse.

Even though insinuations of a slaughterhouse stick out starkly and grisly, this is by no means an abattoir. There is neither buying and selling of meat in this worship centre called As God Said, It Must Done, The Temple of The Most High God.

An evangelist at the church explained that the spot is called the ‘Earth Altar’ and that it’s where different types of sacrifices are offered unto God.

Located on a street named after it, Off Fakunle Street, Oke-Aro in Ogun State, a suburb near Lagos, the church is neither Pentecostal nor orthodox. All the same, both the shepherd and the sheep are strongly convinced that they are serving the living God the right way.

This reporter gathered that the blood splattered all over the ‘Earth Altar’ is that of animals. Similarly, in sharp dissonance, the mode of worship verges on the oddity, just as members cling on to what many people will consider unusual beliefs and teachings of the church.

As your curiosity wanders untrammeled at the multihued sight of the church and the strangeness of its name, you meet Prophet Blessed Dike, the general overseer and self-styled seer. He tells you with celestial audacity that God revealed the name of the church to him while in a trance. “While I was praying God gave me the name of this church from the Book of Isaiah 46 verse 11”, he said.

A probing by this reporter further revealed that besides the ‘Earth Altar’, the church also has a place called the ‘Holy of Holies.’ A worker in the church, Isaiah Anyaehie explains that the ‘Holy of Holies’ was put up as a replica of the ark of God built by Moses in the Old Testament.

Like the pool of Bethesda in the Bible, members believe that anytime you are sick and you climb into the ‘Holy of Holies’, you would instantly receive your healing.

Here, members show forth when they also want to receive forgiveness of sins and other requests from God. “We have access to the ‘Holy of Holies’ anytime there is a special programme in the church. When you ascend into the ‘Holy of Holies’, you would be healed of whatever ailment you have and whatever you ask God for, He would do it for you,” another member said.

While you are still wondering why the entire premises is painted in red and white, the self-styled seer tells you that white symbolizes peace while red is totemic as it blots out sins.

“God used the blood to wipe out the sins of Adam and Eve. We offer sacrifices because that is what God commands. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and other great men in the Bible offered sacrifices,” he said.

A female member of the church revealed to this reporter that members of this church are expected to wear red or white attires every first and last Sunday of the month. On the floor of the auditorium, there are straight red lines drawn across the floor.

She explained that the red lines are Angels’ pathways. “God revealed to Daddy to make those pathways because angels usually visit the church,” she said.

There are two types of sacrifices that are offered in As God Said It Must Be Done, the Temple of The Most High God, this reporter gathers. There is the sacrifice of atonement, which is offered when seeking forgiveness of sins from God.

In carrying out the sacrifice, the prophet slaughters whatever animal the member provides at the ‘Earth Altar’ and ‘forgiveness’ is obtained from God after the prophet has prayed and blessed the person.

There is also the sacrifice of thanksgiving offered when a member wants to thank God for a favour granted him by God. The type of animal used for this type of sacrifice may vary based on individual needs. “You can bring a cow, a ram, a goat, a chicken or even a dove,” another female member of the church said.

Creepy and funny caveats are never in short supply at As God Said It Must Be Done, the Temple of The Most High God. For instance, a woman who is in her monthly cycle is not allowed to enter into the temple; else, she may be visited by God’s wrath.

Prophet Dike said “It’s a sin for a woman to come into the church while she is observing her menstrual flow. It is a very terrible thing. No woman has the right to come into the presence of God while she is menstruating.”

Despite his weird doctrines, Prophet Dike is very hospitable albeit in a way that one may describe as shocking. As soon as visitors to the church among whom was this reporter stepped into the auditorium, he instruct his workers to bring them refreshments.

This consists of two cartons of canned Guinness, popularly known as small stout. While you are yet to overcome the shock of seeing a prophet of God serve alcoholic drinks in the church, he further instructs that some bottles of whisky be brought to entertain his guests.

Seeing the surprise on the faces of his visitors, he immediately explained the reasons for his actions. “There is nothing like alcohol or strong drink in the bible, so where did you get that from? In Deuteronomy 14 verse 26, God says, “You shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires, for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires, you shall eat there before the Lord your God and you shall rejoice, you and your household.”

God told us to spend our income on what we want. If a man calls himself a man of God and he doesn’t have money, the anointing would turn to annoyance. It is better that you drink in the House of God than to go to a public place and misbehave” he said. Before the prophet was through with attending to his visitors, he had gulped two bottles of small stout.

“Are you not afraid of going to hell” this reporter queries the prophet? Then he laughs hysterically and said “It is unfortunate that you have been taught the wrong doctrine from the time you were little.

“Who told you that hell exists? Heaven and hell do not exist. Can a spirit judge a spirit? There is nothing like heaven or hell. They don’t exist. All the punishment is here on earth. If a man cannot feed himself and his family, he is living in hell. If he cannot pay his house rent and cannot afford to buy a car for himself, he is living in hell. When your mates are enjoying life and you cannot enjoy it, you are living in hell.

“If you are suffering, it means that God is punishing you for something you have done, so there is no hell anywhere. When a man dies, that is the end. He does not go anywhere and God does not judge him. In Mark 12, verses 18 to 27, it is written there that “God is not the God of the dead but of the living.

“So what death are we talking about? If you are living well and you are enjoying your life, you are living in heaven. People like Aliko Dangote, Adenuga, Otedola, Obasanjo and other rich men are living in heaven already. In the Bible, it is written that it’s God’s wish that we live in health and prosper even as our soul prospers.”

PoliticsWe Signed With The Real Boko Haram Outlawed Terrorist Group—fg Boasts by aproko247(op): 11:13am On Jul 10, 2013
The Federal Government of Nigeria has boasted that it signed the Monday’s ceasefire agreement with the authentic outlawed terrorist group, Boko Haram. This was made known by the Chairman, Presidential Amnesty Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of the Security Challenges in the North, Kabiru Turaki, on Tuesday, in Abuja.

Turaki, while responding to enquiries made to him by ThisDay, informed that the FG interacted with authentic members of the dreaded sect.

“The agreement is with the mainstream,” Turaki, who also doubles as the Minister of Special Duties, reportedly said in his response, when asked if the FG involved the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, in the ceasefire deal.

He added that, “we have reached an understanding with them (Boko Haram) and they have already directed their men on the ceasefire, which we have accepted. But a formal agreement will follow in due course.”

On Momday, Turaki announced the government’s ceasefire agreement with the FG’s outlawed terrorists group, which has killed many innocent Nigerians in the northern part of the country and has held the country ransom.

The agreement also came barely three days after over 30 secondary school students were killed in Yobe State, which forced President Jonathan to curse the perpetrators of the act, saying ‘they will burn in hell.’

Nigerians have criticised the government for signing a pact with the group after the havoc the group has done to the country.

CelebritiesMy Hubby Gets Jealous When A Cute Guy Kisses Me–omotola Confesses by aproko247(op): 9:45am On Jul 10, 2013
It is no doubt that not many men would allow their wives to take up acting as profession and the reason is not far-fetched. With the jealous nature of men, it is very rare to see a man accepting another man cuddling or touching his wife all in the name of acting or practising a profession she likes.

That is why it is very common in this part of the world to see actresses dumping acting shortly after getting married. Most of the men they marry tend to kick against the profession after they must have said ‘I do’.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, who is married to a pilot, Capt Mathew Ekeinde is one of the sexiest screen divas in the movie industry in Nigeria, and most men would like to do anything to have for keeps.

When in front of the camera, the mother of four delivers and interprets her role to the letter. When it comes to romantic scenes, she gives her all in making her character looks real, which surprises most of her fans, who wonder how her husband takes such scenes when he stumbles on them.

When asked by one of her fans on twitter, a popular micro-blogging platform, if her hubby gets jealous when a guy kisses her on set, the actress answered in the affirmative.

“Does your husband get jealous when you kiss a guy in a movie?” a fan asked the Ondo State-born actress, and she replied, “Yes, if the guy is cute.”

Now you know how Omosexy’s husband reacts to her romantic scenes in movies when he sees them.

CelebritiesDephine Is Not My Lover–pastor Chris Okotie Reacts by aproko247(op): 4:52pm On Jul 08, 2013
Following reports in the media suggesting that flamboyant man of God, Chris Okotie, may have found a new love in one light-skinned Delphine, which Aproko247 also reported, a representative of Okotie has debunked the news story and has described it as untrue.

In a press release sent to Aproko247 on Monday evening, Okotie claimed that he "has no love relationship with Delphine" but said that "the lady in question...only attended the recent event of the Copyright Society of Nigeria, COSON, hosted by Rev Okotie’s Household of God Church" Lagos.

The statement added that the rumour may have spread probably because Delphine is "close to the flamboyant pastor, whereas Delphine only attends events there (Household of God Church) on the invitation of her friends."

Okotie has had to deal with two broken marriages. His last marriage with Stephanie packed up in 2012 after four years.

CelebritiesHow OJB Jezreel Fundraising C’ttee Ripped Him Off From Donations by aproko247(op): 1:29pm On Jul 08, 2013
The news of Nigeria's music producer, OJB Jezreel's kidney predicament drew public sympathy and attention to the extent that few hours after the news broke that he needed a matching kidney donor, phone buzzed and enquiries were made to some media people who reported the news that some people were willing to donate kidney to OJB Jezreel to help him out of the predicament.

“OJB Jezreel must not die, we can't afford to lose another legend in the entertainment industry just like that,” one of the concerned volunteers had told First Weekly.

It was not surprising however, when members of the public, through some social media platforms, lambasted some Nigerian celebrities for ignoring the music producer-cum-singer by not donating to save him while they keep lavishing money on some material things.

Don Jazzy and P-Square reacted to the outburst on twitter. While Don Jazzy told his fans not to wait for any celeb to save OJB Jezreel, Peter Okoye of P-Square stated that they were solidly behind the ailing star.

Soon after, different figures were quoted in the media as the cash donated for the Save OJB Jezreel campaign headed by popular singer, Nomoreloss. The donations were enmeshed in controversies as there were conflicting reports of real and fake donors.

The controversies also reportedly caused the Lagos State Government, which had earlier donated the sum of N4.5 million to Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu, to withdraw its support towards the Save OJB Jezreel campaign.

However, last week Tuesday the media reported that the Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, who doubles as the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors' Forum, NGF, donated a sum of N16Million, which covers the cost of the kidney transplant needed to save the life of OJB Jezreel.

What surprised us is that those who claimed to be in charge of OJB Jezreel's Fundraising Campaign were not giving out authentic information to the media on what have been realized as donations.

This is because Nomoreloss, who claimed to be the head of the committee, once broadcast on BlackBerry that the N5M reportedly donated by P-Square was a fallacy, but a video released by CrunchTV rubbished his message.

When the supposed donation by Governor Amaechi became public knowledge, Nomoreloss initially claimed that it was false with a claim that the Governor had not contacted the committee, while in the actual sense; the people working behind the scene had almost finished plans on how the money would be passed across to the family.

Also, contrary to the rumoured issuance of the operation money last week Friday, the money was actually transferred into the appropriate account on Thursday by one of those who facilitated the donation on behalf of the government of Rivers State.

It is noteworthy to state that Governor Amaechi wanted a very quiet and discreet donation as he had been doing in the past.

Sources even confirmed to us that the governor is not happy that the secret donation was leaked to the press, which was apparently perpetrated by some greedy members of the OJB Jezreel Fundraising Committee, who wanted a share of the money.

Our findings showed that some of the fundraising committee members were actually keen on getting commissions from the donations made to OJB Jezreel by kind hearted Nigerians.

CelebritiesAlleged Sexual Advances: I Won’t Argue With Ajanaku– Tope Alabi Tells Aproko247 by aproko247(op): 11:51am On Jul 04, 2013
Talented and successful Nigerian female gospel exponent, Tope Alabi, has exclusively told Aproko247 that she won't join issues with her estranged spiritual father, Prophet Ireti Ajanaku, over his recent allegation that she begged him for sex. The story, which has been going viral on the internet, forced Aproko247 to contact the singer to get her reaction on the allegation made by the funky man of God.

The daughter and father relationship formerly enjoyed by the duo died some months ago, which resulted into the present 'roforofo' between them.

Tope had earlier told a Lagos-based soft-sell, First Weekly Magazine, that she stopped going to the church due to fight between them, until the recent sexual advancement allegation made by Prophet Ajanaku.

However, speaking with Aproko247 on Thursday morning while reacting to the allegation, Tope Alabi, who spoke through her husband, Soji, informed Aproko247 that his wife will not argue with Prophet Ajanaku on the matter.

"We won't say anything on the matter (sex allegation by Prophet Ajanaku). All we can say is that God is in control," Soji told Aproko247.

Before now, Tope had always attributed her success to God and Prophet Ajanaku. There relationship totally ended when the man of God anointed an up and coming female singer to take the place of the well known artiste in his heart.

PoliticsPatience Jonathan Dares Tinubu, Declares Interest In ‘iyaloja’ Post by aproko247(op): 11:51am On Jul 02, 2013
Nigeria’s First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has dared the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over who becomes the true Iyaloja. You may say she has shifted her alleged fight with Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State to Tinubu.

Speaking at a rally at the Aso Rock market, Abuja, Patience challenged the newly installed Iyaloja of Lagos, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, and her father, for the contest in electing the true Iyaloja. She frowned at the imposition of the Lagos godfather’s daughter on market women in Lagos State.

Patience declared her intention to run as the overall market leader claiming she has discovered that she can’t run for the gubernatorial race in Rivers State, her homestate. The President’s wife said if Tinubu doesn’t adhere to her advice, she would have no other option than to declare herself as the authentic Iyaloja.

In her three-point reason, Mrs Jonathan said, “my fellow market women, after spending 10 days in Rivers State since week before last, I have seen that becoming Rivers governor is not my portion.

“Just like Tinubu’s wife said, becoming governor is not for a soft-hearted woman like me. And me I don’t want to be vice president like Tinubu’s wife because me and Jonah on one ticket would pain Sambo well-well. So that’s why I want to come and be your leader.

“I deserve to be Iyaloja because I am the greatest patroniser of market women. Ask Tinubu’s daughter whether her husband has ever budgeted N1 billion for food. But that’s what my husband spends. So, since I am the one that buys food more than everyone else in this country, I deserve to be Iyaloja.”

Concluding, the First Lady stated that, “all these newspaper people say I talk too much abi?” she got a chorused “yes” from the market women.

She then proceeded by saying, “okay, when I was a children, we used to sing a song in school ‘You talk too much, you talk too much, is here a market place?’ So if market place is the place where they talk too much and me I talk too much then I must become the leader of the market people, not so?” and she got a well sounding “na so” as response.

PoliticsINEC Would Have Prosecuted 1 Million Nigerians, But…—jega by aproko247(op): 7:35pm On Jul 01, 2013
Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega, has stated that the commission would have prosecuted close to one million Nigerians for multiple registrations, but it lacks the resources to do so.

Jega disclosed this on Monday while speaking on a Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, which was monitored by Aproko247. The INEC boss lamented that because of lack of personnel and resources, most offenders of multiple registrations go scot free.

“On registration alone, we have evidences to prosecute close to one million people for cases of multiple registrations, but we lack resources and personnel to do that,” Jega said.

He, however, noted that the commission would transfer the power to prosecute offenders to another agency. Jega revealed that INEC is presently talking to the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, on the matter and expressed hope that conclusion would be reached soon.

“We are discussing with the NBA on a possible partnership with them” the INEC boss said, adding that, “we will do it though it is very challenging. The best thing is to have another agency that can actually prosecute electoral offenders.”

CelebritiesNDLEA Hasn’t Contacted Tonto On Marijuana’s Pix—publicist Tells Aproko247 by aproko247(op): 3:56pm On Jun 29, 2013
The publicist of Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh, has told Aproko247 that the actress is yet to be contacted by officials of the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, over the marijuana picture posted by Tonto on Thursday.

The piece of photograph caused controversies, which attracted the reaction of the agency. It was reported by a newspaper that the actress would be investigated and possibly prosecuted for allegedly using the banned narcotic.

Spokesman of Tonto informed Aproko247 on Saturday that they are yet to get any correspondence from the NDLEA over the reported investigation of an alleged marijuana intake and picture posted online by the actress on Thursday.

The agency had said through its spokesman, Mitchell Ofoyeju, that the matter had been referred to the appropriate department of the NDLEA to look into the matter. Tonto, on Thursday, posted, “mi smoke ganja, mi smoke weed, while my hatez smoke ma gossip.”

On Friday, the NDLEA was quoted to have told Punch that, “our attention has been drawn to the post quite frankly and I can tell you that action will be taken on it. The law is clear and NDLEA has been very clear on the issue. No one is permitted to sell, use, cultivate or encourage the use of Indian hemp in Nigeria. The weed is one of the banned narcotics in the country.

“NDLEA Act Section 14 (b) states that any person who conspires with, aids, abets, counsels, attempts to commit or is an accessory to any act or offence referred to in this act shall be guilty of an offence under this act and liable on conviction to be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not less than 15 years and not exceeding 25 years.

“Investigation has not started as of now, but definitely, a step has to be taken on the matter. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse; so, it is obvious that the actress stands the risk of 15 years jail term. The appropriate Department is meeting on the issue for necessary action.”

CelebritiesMC-Loph Was Killed By Emeka Morgan— Mum Cries Out by aproko247(op): 4:23pm On Jun 26, 2013
It appears the CEO of Morgan Entertainment is not telling us all the truth he knows about the death Igbo rapper, Obiajulu Nwozo, famously addressed as MC Loph and his only sister, Chinwe.

Recall that in one of our previous posts, we served you a story of how former Morgan Entertainment MD, Obi Madubogwu, accused the label CEO, Emeka Morgan Nwanne Oguejiofor of allegedly using the late MC Loph and only sister for rituals.

Further investigations by myemag.net has proven that there are other people joining voices with Madubogwu to label Morgan a ritualist and being responsible for the death of the rapper. They are no other persons than the late rapper’s mum and his fiancée, Ngozi, who was the only survivor of the accident that claimed both the life of the rapper and his only sister.

In an exclusive chat with our correspondent, who reached out to MC Loph’s mum via a phone conversation, the aged woman, we also learnt suffers hypertension, lamented almost endlessly of how Emeka Morgan abandoned her and the late rapper’s son, after making a pledge of placing her on a meager salary of 30 thousand naira monthly.

According Mrs Obiozor, “Emeka Morgan killed my only son and daughter, left me childless and handicapped. Since Obiajulu died, the only time I set my eyes on the so-called Morgan was in May 2012, when he came with Obi Madubogu, gave me a bag of rice, a gallon of groundnut oil and 60 thousand naira and asked me never to allow Nkiru (MC Loph’s wife) to have a share of the money.

But I couldn’t, I gave the money over to Nkiru after he left and it was used to fix the Camry with which she does most of her run arounds in Lagos. Since then, he had neither called nor checked on me again.”

Contrary to the rumour which went agog in a section of the media a few months ago that Emeka Oguejiofor, the owner of Morgan Entertainment adopted late MC Loph’s son, Mrs Obiozor stated categorically that Morgan is a liar and will not go unpunished.

According to her, “is it possible to adopt a child you have not set your eyes on since he was born? Probably he adopted Obiajulu Jnr in his dreams or imagination. I heard the rumour too, but all I can say is that God will judge him both in life and in death; he will never know any peace in his lifetime, for shedding the blood of my children whom I know did not wrong him in any way.”

Meanwhile, myemag.net further checks revealed that late MC Loph’s family, which consists of his uncles and other extended family, avoids Emeka Morgan with every sense of consciousness. An insider insisted that the family have not stopped accusing him of being responsible for the death of the rapper and his only sister.

According to him, ‘Emeka Morgan is not clean and we the entire MC Loph’s family strongly believes he is responsible for the death of our children. For instance, shortly after the accident and doctor’s confirmation that Obiajulu’s wife was pregnant, we decided that she should stay behind in Lagos and not travel with the family to the village for her husband’s burial, but Morgan insisted that she must travel by air to Awka, which the entire family frowned at and resulted into a face-off with him until he eventually succumbed pressure.

“The question is why must he insist on Nkiru’s presence at her Obiajulu’s burial, if he had no ulterior motive? In one occasion when he, Morgan visited MC Loph’s mum last year, he was bent on knowing where Nkiru was seated when the accident happened and how come she managed to survive an accident that claimed the lives of every other occupants of the car? Does it not tell you that this man probably wanted everybody in that vehicle dead and buried, but for God’s intervention?

“In reference to recent events that happened following the death of Obiajulu, we now know that his death his not natural, we may not have a voice, or the money to fight Emeka Morgan, but one thing is certain, God will continue to judge him’ our source concluded.

With the current situation of things, obviously, Emeka Nwanne Oguejiofor (Morgan), might have some questions to answer, but the big question is who will ask the question? When and how?

For the records, MC Loph and sister both died in a ghastly motor accident on September 14, 2011 along Ore road, on his way to the village for his traditional wedding, which eventually didn’t hold.

CelebritiesHelen Ukpabio’s N1m ‘disorganises’ Chidi Mokeme, Julius Agwu by aproko247(op): 11:31am On Jun 26, 2013
When they say ‘never under estimate the power of money’, there must be a reason for that because money can make that big celebrity to be very humble to the person in possession of that huge amount of money who is willing to throw it out at will.

In Nigeria, some celebs do things as if they are gods, but they go on their knees at the mention of money, and their tongues confess that ‘money is lord’.

Recently, at a public lecture held at a popular nightlife spot in Lagos, controversial woman pastor, Helen Ukpabio donated a sum of one million. No sooner had she made the donation than entertainers at the event were disorganised. It became a normal thing for them to remind the woman that they (entertainers) ‘love’ her ministry.

Our tatafo eyes spotted Julius Agwu, who first went to Ukpabio, shortly after the event ended, ‘toasting’ the woman on what we don’t know about. All we saw next was Julius looking for a piece of paper to write something on as directed by the one million naira cheerful giver.

Julius first picked a complimentary card he saw on the table, but decided to tear a piece from a paper he later laid his hand on. He wrote something on it and passed it on to Pastor Ukpabio.

No sooner had Julius sorted himself out than Chidi Mokeme blocked the woman, where she was still seated and about to leave the event. Trust sharp guy, Chidi, he squatted while he muttered some words to the woman.

If you think your celebs are not ‘humble,’ pray you have cash to dole out like Pastor Ukpabio, you will have a good control of them. They really need money, forget about the glamorous lifestyle they portray.

CelebritiesAlleged N.5m Scam: Emeka Ike Battles To Save Career, FG Ambassadorial Deal by aproko247(op): 6:09pm On Jun 24, 2013
Popular actor, Emeka Ike, is presently battling hard to save his name from an alleged fraud mess he is presently swimming in. Just few weeks ago, the Federal Government, through the Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, appointed the prolific actor as the ambassador of ‘Rhythm and Play’ initiative of the sports ministry.

Barely a month into his reign as the ambassador of ‘Rhythm n Play’, a case of an issuance of a dud cheque to a football team that won at his organised competition in December 2012 by the actor has reared its ugly head. The incident is now threatening to ruin the actor’s career and his deal with the FG.

Information gathered by Aproko247 shows that the actor organised a local tournament called ‘Emeka Ike Desert Cup’, which took place at the Sandfill field at Ogudu Ori-Oke, Lagos State on December 24, 2012.

The winning team, Golden Star, got N500,000 and was issued a UBA cheque in that amount. As we further gathered, the team has been unable to cash the money from the bank because it has continuously bounced when presented.

A source informed Aproko247 that several efforts to make Emeka Ike rectify the problem has yielded no meaningful results as the actor has allegedly refused to pick his calls or reply to text messages sent to him by the team’s representative concerning the matter.

Aproko247 also learnt that 16 teams participated in the competition and were asked to pay N3000 each. The first and second runners-up; Lakeside and All Stars teams, have reportedly collected their respective cash prizes of N100,000 and N75,000 in January.

When contacted by Aproko247 on the matter, Emeka Ike declined to speak with us on the allegations raised in the story. “I don’t want to talk about any scandal. My lawyers are working on some things,” the actor told us on phone.

CelebritiesStella Damasus Laughs Off Pregnancy Rumour by aproko247(op): 5:53pm On Jun 24, 2013
Sultry Nigerian actress, Stella Obiageli Damasus, has laughed off some online media reports claiming she is pregnant for Daniel Ademinokan, the estranged husband of another actress, Doris Simone. The actress took to her Facebook page to debunk the rumour, which she claimed to be untrue, according to her.

“[I] laughed so hard at the news that I am pregnant. How come I don’t know [about it] neither do my doctors?” Stella asked, adding that, “wonderful gossip! Please read 1 Peter 3:10 (which reads, ‘if you want to enjoy true life and have only good days, then avoid saying anything hurtful, and never let a lie come out of your mouth.’)”

The actress has been in the news lately for the wrong reasons over her alleged romantic relationship with Daniel. Both parties have denied being lovers, but only business partners. Few months ago, new went viral on the internet that they have married in the USA, which they also denied.

PoliticsTinubu Installs Daughter As New Iyaloja Of Lagos by aproko247(op): 3:28pm On Jun 24, 2013
Former governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Sunday, publicly displayed why he is the ‘owner’ of the Centre of Excellence, as Lagos is also called. The National Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, also further made known that as far as Lagos is concerned, he is the alpha and the omega.

At the Fidau prayer session held for his self-acclaimed late mother, Abibatu Mogaji, who died some days ago, at her residence in Ikeja, Tinubu announced his daughter, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, as the new President General of the Market Men and Women Associations in Lagos, taking over from late Mogaji.

A belated Folashade, whose husband is a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, danced and showed her appreciation for being pronounced as the leader of market leaders in Lagos.
This did not, however, go down well with the various market associations present at the occasion, who left with mixed feelings. Aproko247 has learnt that they will have a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the latest development. A market leader in Isolo area of Lagos, who spoke under anonymity, told Aproko247 that, “there is nothing anybody can do about it since Tinubu is involved.”

CelebritiesLaide Bakare May Go To Jail by aproko247(op): 2:38pm On Jun 24, 2013
The last may not have been heard in the ongoing war between Nollywood popular actress, Laide Bakare and her estranged husband, Olumide Okunfulire. This is because US-based businessman has vowed to slug it out with the delectable actress over the paternity of the child she claimed to have bore for her new hubby, Tunde Oriowo.

The Ondo State-born dude has reportedly told his lawyers to institute a lawsuit against Laide. Olumighty, as Okunfulire is fondly called by friends, allegedly said that Laide will have to answer if truly she got court judgement, which dissolved their marriage before she got married to Oriowo, her new husband.

Olumide maintained that Laide’s new baby boy belongs to him, adding that she became pregnant in his house. He also claimed that the actress registered at the US hospital, where she eventually gave birth, with his name and Green Card.

With the way things are going, Laide might be charged for bigamy and if found guilty by the court, she risks jail term.

Industry sources told us that Okunfulire may drop charges against Laide if the actress realises her mistakes and beg for forgiveness.

“I can tell you that Olumide (Okunfulire) is only trying to shake Laide. He just wants to make life unbearable for her, Laide is aware of this, which is why she has not responded to the ‘noise’ Olumide has been making since the news of her child birth hit town,” a source informed us.

Meanwhile, those in the camp of Laide have disclosed that Tunde is the real father of the baby. They claimed that Laide and Tunde had been an item for sometime before they decided to solemnise the relationship with a secret wedding and that she was actually pregnant for him before then. Pictures were sent to us to back up the claim. The actress is still in the USA with her baby and new husband as at press time.

CelebritiesChrist Embassy Choir Director To Face N.7m Charges by aproko247(op): 12:01pm On Jun 22, 2013
A choir director of Christ Embassy Church in Lagos, Sunday Eboh, will face charges in court for allegedly defrauding another member, David Egaifa, in the sum of N710,000 meant for the purchase of a Toyota bus.

At the Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Friday, Eboh’s hope of settling the matter out of court suffered a setback when the complainant withdrew his earlier application for the withdrawal of the matter. He claimed he was not properly enlightened on the implications of withdrawing the case from court.

After getting to know that he would not be able to bring back the case when withdrawn, he cancelled the application. This forced Chief Magistrate Omolade Awope to struck out the application. The prosecutor, Adekemi Adeniran, explained to the court that, “the accused told the complainant that his relatives are living in United Kingdom and that they frequently sent cars home for sale.

“The complainant was not totally convinced, so he asked the accused to deposit his B.Sc certificate and his NYSC discharge certificate, to be turned to him when he brings the bus. After collecting the money, the accused ran away until last week when he turned up to demand for the certificates.”

Eboh was first arraigned on May 15, but was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. He allegedly committed the offence in February 2012 at about 12:30pm, at the Christ Embassy Church, Ketu, Lagos.

CelebritiesLate MC Loph’s Label Boss, Emeka Morgan, In Human Rituals Mess by aproko247(op): 9:33pm On Jun 18, 2013
Forget all the bravados and show offs, the authentic information at our disposal is that there is a serious crisis rocking Morgan Entertainment right about now. So serious is it that the MD and African rep of the label, former actor and Producer, Obi Madubogu was seriously beaten up by the company workers on the order of the company’s CEO, Emeka Nwanne Oguejiofor, popularly known as Emeka Morgan, who is based in America.

For the purpose of understanding, let me quickly give you an excerpt into Morgan Entertainment.

Recall the record label owned by acclaimed American based businessman, Emeka Nwanne Oguejiofor, popular referred to as Emeka Morgan, it was the same label that signed rapper, MC Loph and gave him the car gift with which he got an accident and died, alongside his only sister, thus leaving their mother, childless.

Now that you know, fast forward to what happened on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Morgan Entertainment office, 12, Nuru Oniwo Street, Aguda Surulere. As narrated by an eye witness, who was there present.

We were told that, the label boss, Emeka Morgan had earlier promised to give out a car to any TV/Radio presenter who promotes his artistes (Ned, Konga, Onyenze, Dnerio, Morroco Maduka and Ozoemena Nsugbe) in their various forums. According what we later heard, few months after, he discovered that OPJ, a Wazobia Fm presenter did the job to his satisfaction and decided to give him the car gift.

However, a messy fight was said to have broke out, when Obi Madubogu, the labels’ MD and African representative, who was supposed to hand over the car to OPJ, refused giving out the car keys, claiming that the company owed him and other staffers over four months’ salary arrears.

According to what we reliably gathered, Obi insisted that the car won’t be given out until the company offsets staffer’s salary arrears, which onlookers, according to our source, thought right.

The CEO, who probably must have see his action as an affront, then called a group of his loyalists, among whom was one Austin, the company’s accountant and some other staffers of the company, and asked them to forcefully take the car keys from Obi and beat him up mercilessly, which they eventually did, stated our source.

Afterwards, Obi who managed to escape with bruises all over his head and face, was said to have lost his phones and car key to the attack, ran to the nearest police station and on arrival, the police arrested everyone who was in sight, including the studio Sound Engineer, Bolaji, Dnerio and others.

BusinessGtbank’s Customers In Panic Withdrawals Over Bank’s Multiple Fraud Scams by aproko247(op): 2:40pm On Jun 14, 2013
Guaranty Trust Bank, GTBank`s customers now wonder how safe their money is with the financial institution over the managing director, Segun Agbaje’s inability to curb the high increase of fraud in the bank.

In same vein, customers of the Bank are beginning to close thier accounts with the Bank.

Benco News reliably gathered that another mind bogging fraud scandal recently hit the bank following fresh revelation of how two officials of the bank in Ibadan were arraigned recently before an Ibadan Chief Magistrates Court for allegedly stealing N4.9 million.

The two officials-Quadri Azeez and Oluwatayo Tosin-were arraigned for forgery and stealing the said sum from a customer`s account.

A third accused, Awotunde Oluwafemi, who was said to be the recipient of the stolen sum, was also arraigned for forgery and stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Ogunremi, claimed that Azeez and Tosin forged the bank local currency fund transfer instrument with different serial numbers to collect the total sum between July 21, 2011 and Dec. 2, 2011.

Ogunremi said the offences contravened Section 516,467,427and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. II Laws of Oyo State 2000.

It will also be recalled that in December 2012, whilst other banks were closing their end of the year books in peace and fanfare, Segun Agbaje, the managing director of Guarantee Trust Bank had sleepless nights over a huge sum of money that developed wings and flew out of the bank`s vault through some of its crooked staff at the information technology department.

According to inside sources, we reliably gathered that, a whopping sum of N850m (eight hundred and fifty million Naira only) belonging to the multinational oil firm, Total Nigeria Unlimited has been moved out of the oil company`s account from the vault of Guarantee Trust Bank.

The scam which was tagged fraud of the year by detectives in Area F Police Command where the case was reported has seen some staff of GTB been detained at the Police Command while the bank`s management has started running from pillar to post to cover the embarrassing situation

We were informed that, some crooked staff at the IT department of GTB hacked into one of the tellers` systems in Central Business District, Alausa branch and moved out the N850m out twice, the money, we gathered further was transferred via bank drafts into an account belonging to a Mallam trading under a bureau de change name, BDC Bureau De Change in Abuja.

Similarly, a 27- year old banker has been arrested and arraigned at an Itire Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for allegedly defrauding customers to the tune of N3.1million.

The defendant, Ogunji Adediran, an employee with the Guarantee Trust Bank, (GTB), was said to have stolen the money at different occasions in July this year.

Prosecuting Inspector, Ezekiel Ayorinde, told the court that Ogunji fraudulently deducted money from the accounts of customers without their consent.

Ayorinde alleged that the defendant opened a pseudo account where he deposited the loot, adding that he also suppressed deposit tellers of some customers.

The practice, according to Ayorinde, continued until some of the customers started complaining about their missing monies.

He alleged that the defendant used the money to secure admission abroad as well as gave some yet to be identified persons part of it.

He told the court that his alleged offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2011.

Efforts to speak with Mrs. Lola Odedina, Group Head, Corporate Communication of GTBank, to react on the report proved abortive as her mobile number was not reachable as at press time.
