Saturnalia:First of all, if I owned a loan shark, I would understand the type of business I am into. The reasons why loan sharks resort to criminal blackmail is because they are a criminal entity themselves. You offer a 7-day loan with over 50% interest, and you make it so accessible because you want to bait the poor, desperate Nigerians. Ask yourself why it had to be during the pandemic that these loan sharks all came out? They came to cash in on the economic hardship. Because credit facilities are so hard to access, the loan sharks cover the gap, but with greedy interest rates. They didn't come to do business. They came to exploit. Because of their criminality and devilish greed, I never encourage their debtors to repay the loan. Take their money and never repay it. Drive them out of the market. |
Dittodat:I was confused too. Because I listened to a US economist who was asked about the consequence of the United States owing China so much money. The economist said it can be seen as China owning the United States economy. |
backbone503:Do you know the United States is the biggest debtor in the world. Moreover, it is the United States owing China that amount, not China owing the United States. |
San2ski:It doesn't matter. It can't be kissing. The law is not dumb. |
Kukutenla:I am telling you. They are frivolous most of the time. If I were on Twitter, they could even arrest us for describing them as frivolous. They have too much time on their hands, honestly. |
melodyogonna:Yes, she did. Her original post was in order. She wrote about buying a new tomato paste brand and found it too sugary. Then, she threw a question to her followers, wondering whether any of them had used the brand and whether they found it sugary too. In fact, she even wrote that perhaps she had brought a fake of the product or an expired one. It was great at this point. But then, as the comments came in, she began to lose herself, and to take it personal. She began to lose her neutral position. Then, someone claiming to be a sister of the owner of the tomato brand asked Chioma to stop spoiling her brother's business. Chioma's foolish reply to this person was: "Tell your brother to stop killing Nigerians." Perhaps, she didn't mean it that way. But that wasn't made with wisdom. A weighty accusation that many people will not take with arms folded. |
melodyogonna:It is not illegal. But truthfully, she didn't make a product review, she made an unfair review, especially when she told a relative of the brand to tell her brother to stop killing Nigerians. For me, this is a case of libel. In Nigeria, libel can be a crime. The only other charge I feel they truly have against her is cyberbullying. Demarketing (or counter marketing) are ordinarily not crimes except fraud is roped into it. I also don't see the reason for a charge of criminal conspiracy against her. Criminal conspiracy to do what? Demarket Erisco? Demarketing can be unsettling, but not a crime. Organizations demarket their competitors every now and then, and it is considered a marketing strategy. |
UselessBuharist:Being on a police watchlist does not necessarily mean you have committed a crime against the state. It can also mean that you are under investigation. In the case of Mrs Egodi, she had been jumping bail, so they put her on a watchlist. If she manages to escape out of the country, law enforcement agencies elsewhere can see that she is under investigation. |
cyberstarr:Tribalism has finished you people. There is no tribe that can lay claim to be being the best at real cooking (whatever that is). It is not until you overcook your meals that you can say you have cooked a real meal. Overcooking meals removes vital nutrients. Undercooking can be a problem, but at least, the nutrients are well conserved. |
DrAkpamudehe:Mega Chicken is owned by Chief Ayenuyo. |
salem1996:He doesn't have any social media handles. |
kenny160:She was 37, not 40. In fact, she clocked 37 a few weeks back. |
salem1996:Carrying casket is a practice well known in the South West. In the university, caskets are carried by workers to symbolize rejection of their boss. It doesn't mean they are wishing him dead. Soyinka is almost 90. He would be 90 this year. His public appearances have greatly reduced. When Soyinka was still Soyinka, he was Obasanjo's loudest critic for 8 years. Despite the fact that he and Obasanjo are from the same Egba tribe, he was still Obasanjo's loudest critic, right from when Obasanjo was military head of state. That is why I laugh when people say Soyinka is quiet because Tinubu is his kinsmen. When Shonekan was made interim president in 1993, who was his loudest critic if not Soyinka? |
salem1996:Was evil was done to Jonathan? Jonathan was not performing well, and Soyinka joined many other Nigerians to denounce him. When Buhari was not performing well, did Soyinka not criticize him? So, it is now an evil thing to criticize a president that is performing below par? |
Jewessgratitud3:But you generalized by advising women not to marry ugly men. This particular man was probably insecure, it doesn't mean everyone who looks like him will be. You can have a handsome man who will lock you up due to his insecurity. |
techub:Nigeria is second in paternity fraud in the world. Are you saying this record is due to beautiful cheating married women alone? A woman that wants to cheat will cheat, whether she is beautiful or average or below average. Just like a man will cheat if he wants to. Cheating is a matter of choice. What makes you think a beautiful woman can't say no to 1 million men in 6 months. The only information I think I am confident about is that women might have many wooers, but they hardly ever have more than two to three men that they are willing to surrender to. Usually, there is the husband, and then the ex. and her boss). The average woman (once she has a husband and an ex.) is unlikely to have a need for another man, except her boss. So, when a woman is pregnant, and it is not for her husband, it would likely be for her ex. or her boss. |
Jewessgratitud3:Based on observations, I doubt physical appearance has that much to do with insecurity I have seen very confident people who are not so attractive. Sometimes, they can be so confident that you will wonder whether they are not aware that they are not so good looking. (I don't like using the word "ugly" to describe a human being). And then you will see very beautiful people with insecurity issues. |
Allthelight:You want to blame cars even when we don't obey simple traffic rules? Overloading people into buses or cars, no use of seat belts, and poor rescue attempts. It is not easy to come out alive when you are packed into a bus with no seatbelts and the bus rolls over multiple times. And rescue attempts are usually done by people who know nothing about first responder education. Sometimes, people are left for dead because they look dead. |
What difference would it have made if it were authorized? Would NYSC have driven him to his destination with a driver that won't doze off? Matters of unauthorized travelling should only come up if he was travelling on a road that the NYSC has deemed unsafe, travelling to a place the NYSC has deemed unsafe...or the corps member has been declared missing. |
salem1996:Please, what did Wole Soyinka do other than speak against bullying? Did you know how toxic the political landscape became because of Obidients? They were bullying even those who merely refused to have a preferred candidate. They wanted everyone to vote for Obi, forgetting that everyone has a right to vote for whomever they want, and that we cannot build a great country on human rights violation. Soyinka will be 90 years old in July. No matter how hard you try to demonize him, the man has made his mark. Was imprisoned for visiting Ojukwu to broker peace, was sentenced to death for identifying with Saro Wiwa and the Ogoni cause, used his huge Nobel Prize money to battle Sank Abacha, did a long walk in solidarity for Goodluck Jonathan when the cabal refused to let him act as president when Yar'Adua was bedridden... Before you judge this man who has given so much for Nigeria in terms of personal glory (the first black man to win the Nobel Prize in Literature) and through activism, ask yourself what your father or grandfather did when dictators ruled the country in wickedness. You all expect a 90 years old man to continue to speak at every opportunity? |
This man is a dullard. He said he supports the hike because Nigerians are suffering, and they need power to produce something. Please, what is the connection between hike and efficient power generation? The government did not say it was hiking the price to generate more electricity. In fact, only Ikeja Electric made a bogus link between the hike and increased power supply, but we all know they are playing us for a fool. |
Zeezenho:But you can call Buhari a dullard abi? You can call a man who reached the pinnacle of his career in his 40s, who headed PTF and became head of state and president a dullard. Your hypocrisy is one of a kind. If we go by your logic, no one should be advising presidents except they are presidents themselves. No one should be advising Davido except he is a billionaire musician like Davido. No one should even be advising Naira Marley except they are wealthy themselves. Obi might have headed a bank, but the fact remains that he has made bad political choices. Heading a bank is not the same as making a good political gamer or decision maker. Tinubu never headed a bank, but he is known as a political strategist for good reasons. |
Zeezenho:But you all claimed that Obi is different. Why is Tinubu and Buhari now a benchmark for Obi? The problem with you Obi slaves is that you don't want to accept that Obi is just a Nigerian politician striving for power, and not a saint. He is a thief like the rest of them, just that he is a cunning one. Rather than steal in the usual stealing way, he misappropriates funds. He is a desperado like the rest of them. Suddenly, he is following Tinubu's footsteps by offering humanitarian services. What Obi does not know is that it is rather too late for him to use philanthropy to bamboozle people. Tinubu had been doing it for many years. MKO Abiola did for many years. Obi wants to do it against the next election. |
EreluRoz:My sister, going to church is a duty. It is not important for our salvation. The ultimate question is do you believe in God; do you believe in the sacrifices of Jesus Christ? The active Christian is expected to be so grounded in the Word of God that he or she should be able to stay sufficient in it as long as he or she believes. Jesus Christ promised to send His Holy Spirit to us who will teach us everything we need to know. You don't need a pastor to teach you anything as long as you let the Holy Spirit do the teaching through constant reading of the Word. You should not feel guilty missing church. Churchgoing is a duty. Going to church, tithing, and so on are duties. They don't take you to Heaven. In fact, they don't build you spiritually. Only the Word builds you. You should only be guilty if you have forsaken Jesus Christ. Now, churchgoing means going to church. You can find a gathering of bible believing Christians, even if it is just two people, and you have a church. In fact, the smaller, the better. Remember what Christ said: "Where two or three are gathered in my name..." You don't need a multitude. Narrow is the way, only a few would find it. In fact, devotions with your family is a church on its own. |
Emday:This is the problem with you Christians. Who told you that you don't go to church because of people? Is the Church not the people with Christ as the head? This is the reason why I say the Church needs a revival. You go to Church to build one another, not to ignore one another. Some people even mind their business all through the church service. They don't even care to know the person sitting beside them in Church. As far as they are concerned, they have come to worship God and not to fraternize. |
Jackanda1:Hell is the same as the land of the dead. Souls are destroyed in hell, not burned forever. According to the Bible, this is the Second Death. The significance of the Second Death is that it alienates the sinners from the love of God just as sin alienated Adam from the love of God which he enjoyed in the Garden of Eden. As for those who died before Christ, I am sure they would be judged by the works of their hands. |
chimuanya24:You don't know whether you will end up marrying a young girl yourself. Perhaps, your future wife is still in the womb sef. No one knows tomorrow. |
Pastors and their scare tactics. If they are not using hell fire to scare people, they will be using the wrath of God. Thank God that he accepts that he is just a man. But when he was busy telling folktales about how he drank Milo with God and drove many miles on reserve and commanded winter to take a break, what was he trying to achieve, if not to make himself look like God to his listeners? Now that he has realized that he is powerless against the enlightened, he is resorting to using God as a scare tactic. He should better get used to being held accountable for every of his prophesies that fail. You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time. |
DMerciful:It doesn't work that way, that is what I am telling you. The South East voters are predictable. They would give Obi block votes as usual. But the North (without Buhari on the ballot) are not that predictable, same as the South West. But with the fallout of the election where Obidients attacked Yorubas without caring that there are Yoruba Obidients, there is more to believe by that some Obidient Yoruba will not vote for Peter Obi in 2027, and would rather align with their tribesman. Yorubas in Lagos did not come out in full force for the presidential election, believing that Tinubu would have easy sailing. But the result jolted them to come out en masse for Sanwoolu, especially when Igbos in Lagos started feeling like they owned Lagos because of that victory. Don't expect Obi to win Lagos in 2027. The same thing obtains in the North. The fallout of the 2023 election exposed the tribalism in the Igbos. It became very evident that they didn't care for a better Nigeria, but an Igbo president. After losing at the polls, they resorted to bullying attacks, including rejoicing at any misfortunes in the North just to say, "Didn't I tell you not to vote for Tinubu?". Obi had a shocking performance in the election. I didn't expect him to perform that well. Instead of accepting the result and building on the gains, he resorted to desperate antics. His yes-daddy audio will be one of the tools that APC would use against him in 2027. |
CSTRR:You don't know Nigerian politics. The North will never vote for a Southerner who would have a chance at 8 years. They would rather vote for Tinubu to complete his 8 years so that power can return to the North. |
oyatz:Exactly. The 2007 election which brought in Yar'Adua was the most shameful. It was obviously so rigged that even Yar'Adua (the beneficiary) admitted it as part of his victory speech. |
Inspirer1:I don't think it would matter whether the current situation persists. The Igbo perpetual block votes might influence the Yorubas to embark on block votes too. By 2027, the South would have 4 more years. The North might simply give APC block votes too. Don't be surprised if Obi performs woefully in 2027. He is beginning to do a lot to win the trust of the North, but his Igbo brothers will undo everything again when campaign starts fully. In their usual nzogbu nzogbu, they will betray their tribalism in their blind love for Peter Obi. |
