garfield1:Honestly, most people making analysis about North are extremely ignorant about the North. Among all the people u listed only Danfodiyo is devout Muslim all the rest are not in any way Islamic fundamentalist. It is the fault of North for allowing ignorant people like you to write their history. Go back to history of all the people u mentioned, Northerners like honest, kind, reputable, and gentle people who likes committing themselves to toward the development of masses. If u want to deceive ordinary Northerner just pretend to have the affirmentioned characteristics and see how u will gather mamoth followers. Tell me one of those people u mentioned who wasn't very good servant to the Northern masses. Mind you, Ahmadu Bello's being son of Sultan didn't make him very religious. Many of those you mentioned have some attitudes that are very unacceptable in Islam but their attitudes and commitment toward their people helped them won the minds of their people. I recently l sent that some Christians think if you just pray, go to Mecca makes one devout Muslim but is much more than that and almost all those u mentioned don't do more than that. Going by my assertion, I hope I can convince you to know that most people don't like Atiku because he wasn't good to his village not even Adamawa or North and he has never been. Ordinary road to his village, Ganye was death trap for more than 16yrs until Buhari recently rehabilitated it. Atiku don't like masses at all and has no aorta of concern for ordinary people, therefore, no way he can be loved in the North! Go to Kano and hear what people say about Dangote, most people don't like him because his wealth wasn't felt much in the life of Kano people in terms of wealth creation and employment. Mind you Dangote and Abdussamad BUA are more religious than all those u mentioned except Danfodiyo. In BUA's family u can't own a car or drive until you memorised Qur'an, very religious family. Dangote's family are product of Almajiri system with deep root of religious fundamentalism! |

Fairmedia:Ignorance is a big disease worse than cancer. Come to North and see Obas and Igwes in almost all Emirates of the North. In some Emirates like Gumel they even ride horses on Sallah day. Honestly, the ethno-religious problem of Nigeria are mostly from people who never set their foot outside their states. I think it was reported last year how some Igbos are having misunderstanding on which of the Igwe in Kano is recognised by different Igbo groups until court intervened. Most problem of Igwe kingship title given to Igbos in the North lead to problem of diverse recognition; some are loyal to someone from Enugu or Anambra, that is their common problem in the North! |
lawrenzooo:Read again. One week holiday for civil servants to go and register their PVCs in their localities. No where businy or other activities is said to be stopped! |
EmilolaOla:I always wonder how and when I tested PYO to prove to us that he is better than Tinubu. Bei g professor can't make him a great leader because there are Professors who can't even manage ordinary Departments in the universiti effectively. Ganduje, Ayade, Fayemi, Al have PhDs which miracl did they performed? Stop being mentally inferior by assessing PYO because of his eloquence. Under Buhari administration Amaechi, Fashola and Pantani have proven more competence than PYO going by how they brought tremendous succe in their portfolios! |
Because they don't even understand the God. The same people who worship God and ask for everything prefer and have more confidence in juju than the fake God they worship. The same people will pray for better Nation and steal in their work places. They hate looters not because of their looting but because they're not the ones looting. They feign devotional to their faith but have relatively zero reflection of their religious teachings in their actions. I have never seen unfortunate, deceptive, complex and unbelievable creature like Nigerians. Very dangerous set of human beings ![]() |
WatchYourSix:Why are u feigning ignorance when it is clear the debate is all abt Govt and private schools not allowing students to wear hijab and to some extent putting Christians in strategic positions in ministry of education just to frustrate the Muslims and perpetuate their intolerance attitude. No school has the right to advertise for admission into her school and contravene the law of land which uphold freedom of religion. Stopping dodging the reality. Many centuries before the coming of whites Muslims were using Ajami (Arabic text) to read and write and have Islamic schools across the Nation but Christian invaders, colonisers stripped us off all these long years investment and imposed English on us, did we complain or accuse anyone of forcing religion or Christian version of lifestyle on us despite clear imposition? |

Massiveglory:What concern religion in this post? |
pharmagba:So how did u reach conclusions to most of the allegations u drop in Nigeria if what u mentioned are put into cognisance of investigation? |
WatchYourSix:Are those who gave us the uniform not Christians who did it in Christian way? From the constitution to National Anthem, to songs sing as an anthem of some FG institutions, the official dressing use in banks, the gowns we wear in schools and the gown we wear as judges and barristers, the weekends and many more are Christians lifestyle but we never agitated while u are here crying for just Muslims asking to excercise their religious injunction. The issue of Hijab saga is equivalent to stopping Christians from wearing skimpy clothes which I know u can't drop because of ur obsession to Western culture and indoctrines. |

pharmagba:Why are u in hurry? Life isn't as U see in Hollywood movies. Wait patiently as the culprits are close to being captured but all I know is when they are captured you will still refute everything related to the arrest and blackmail the securities for parading innocent people or accuse them of lies. |
WatchYourSix:You ppl are extremely intolerance. Who stop u from the nude and half naked system u borrowed from the whites? Muslims are decent and Hijab is an Islamic injunction which should be protected under Nigerian constitution. Almost all system we follow/practice in Nigeria is handed over to us by those who enslaved u and made u prey and mentally inferior people who prefer to walk naked than upholding decency! |
The Supreme Court has affirmed the rights of Muslims Female Students in Lagos state to wear Hijab to school without harassment or discrimination. In a majority decision, Nigeria’s apex court gave the ruling on Friday in Abuja. Among those on the panel were Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, Justice John Inyang Okoro, Justice Uwani Aji, Justice Mohammed Garba, Justice Tijjani Abubakar, and Justice Emmanuel Agim. While six ruled in favour of the use of hijab, one dissented. The Lagos State Government had in February 2017 approached the Supreme Court to challenge the July 21, 2016 judgment of the Court of Appeal which reinstated the use of hijab by Muslim pupils in Lagos public primary and secondary schools. This was after the state government sought to stay the execution of the judgment at the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal but failed. The case, CA/L/135/15, is between the Lagos State Government, Miss Asiyat AbdulKareem (through her father), Miss Moriam Oyeniyi and the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria. A five-man special appellate court panel, presided by Justice A.B. Gumel, had on July 21, 2016, overruled the October 17, 2014 judgment of Justice Modupe Onyeabo of the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja, which banned the use of hijab in public primary and secondary schools in Lagos State. While striking down Justice’s Onyeabo’s verdict, the Justice Gumel panel had held that the ban on hijab was discriminatory against Muslim pupils in the state. The panel upheld the Muslim students’ contention that the ban violated their rights to freedom of thought, conscience, religion, dignity of human persons and freedom from discrimination guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution. Justice Gumel also held that wearing the hijab was an Islamic injunction and an act of worship required of Muslims. He said the use of hijab by Muslim pupils could not cause disunity, distraction and discrimination against students of other faiths as declared by the lower court judge. Reacting to the judgement, the Amir (President) of MSSN in Lagos State, Miftahudeen Thanni, said that with the judgement, students in public primary and secondary schools in Lagos State can now wear hijab to school without harassment. He warned teachers and government officials against harassment of female Muslim students, urging that the Supreme Court judgement should put a stop to the “undue” punishment of students willing to wear the hijab. Thanni, however, assured the state government and residents of peaceful co-existence, noting that Muslim students won’t abuse the judgement. According to him, the judgement has deepened the students’ and Nigerians’ confidence in the judiciary. He said, ” The judgement simply means that though hijab is not mandatory in Lagos schools, Muslim students who wish to wear it are free to do so and legally allowed. “We are a law-abiding organisation and we will continue to uphold the law of the land. We applaud the judgement. The position of the law is very clear on the subject matter. This matter once more assures us that all hope is not lost on having a modest society. “The government should not be waging war against youths who chose to cover their unclothedness while encouraging those who walk naked and engage in illicit acts in public. “It gladdens to see that the injunction which the LASG is using as a basis to deny the rights of Muslim students has been decided by the apex court. “We hereby urge all stakeholders to be law-abiding for a peaceful implementation of the judgement. There should be no violation of human rights against our students while we expect an immediate implementation of the judgement in all schools across the state. We urge the government not to delay implementation.” While congratulating and thanking Muslims and the legal team on the recent victory, Thanni said, “We congratulate the entire Muslim Ummah (community) and urge our Muslim students to uphold decency and cleanliness which are the hallmark of Islam while exercising their rights. We also pray to Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late Alhaji Adetola Kassim (SAN) who started this case without collecting a dime from us.” https://dailytrust.com/breaking-supreme-court-approves-use-of-hijab-in-lagos-schools |

AntiBMC:Read this and see who brought us out of true Federal system of Govt and imposed unitary system on us. We can't be killed in a coup, went to civil war all because of some gr edy people and expect us to go back to the system that U l robbed a from easily. Do you know that when Tafawa Balewa was Prime Minister of Nigeria; Chief of Army Staff was from SE Chief of Naval Staff was from SE IG of Police was from SE Chief of Defence Staff was from SE Internal Affairs Minister SE External Affairs Minister SE Education Minister South SE Many other key ministries to SE Parliament President SE Unilag VC from SE The University of Ibadan VC from SE North resisted same at ABU! Still, there was dissatisfaction by SE, the officers from the region killed this same Balewa!!!! Out of all the most senior officers in Nigeria, SE has 37, none was killed. 8 from the north, all of them were killed. 10 from the west, 2 were killed. Then Ironsi imposed a unitary system of government on the country so that everything can belong to a region who snatched it! We must know our history so that when we want to make corrections, we will not end up concealing the truth. This has nothing to do with tribalism but everything to do with the truth.....at times when lies litter the streets. There is a tendency to think those are truths and facts. *What follows are facts that can be cross-checked for authenticity!"* Prof. Ben Nwabueze was the man who drafted the constitution that took away powers from regions and handed it to the central government because his brother Aguiyi Ironsi was the head of state then but some ignorant or selfish people limit their accusations to only Abdussalam Abubakar constitution that give birth to current democratic govt. Today, they're shouting restructuring that they helped to destroy. We won’t forget.”*. The Igbo man is known to enjoy blaming the Hausa fulanis, Yorubas and indeed every other Nigerian tribe and Lord Luggard/Britain for their seeming claim of being in third class citizen status in Nigeria or refuse to let them go. In their perpetual attempts to play the victim card, they recount the political events of Nigeria from 1914 to the present in a half-baked and highly selective manner which cleverly avoids the mention of the roles played by their elite who by all natural laws of judgement were actually responsible for the woes that befell not only the Igbo race but the entire Nigeria nation. However, the national archives have the complete and unedited history of Nigeria regarding the political events beginning way back from even before 1914. Shortly after the 1914 Amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorates, it started getting clear that the country was bound to fail as the amalgamation in question was done with colonial fiat without the consent and consensus of the different tribes which were over 300. This prompted the political leaders to start asking for de-amalgamation so as to forestall the future danger which the forced amalgamation portended. To that end, Ahmadu Bello, speaking on behalf of the Northern protectorate in 1944 described the amalgamation as "The mistake of 1914 which if allowed to remain will ultimately lead to unstoppable bloodshed and a failed country". Awolowo, speaking on behalf of the Yorubas and Western minorities, described Nigeria as a mere geographical expression not qualified to be called a country let alone a nation. Awolowo added that if the amalgamation could not be reversed, then Nigeria should be structured as a strictly federal state so as to enable each tribe enjoy autonomy this freedom from being dominated by any one single tribe. But Nnamdi Azikiwe, speaking for the Igbos, denounced Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello, terming them ethnic champions. He accused them of nursing a sectional agenda against the unity of Nigeria, and he declared further that the Unity of Nigeria was non-negotiable. After moving the motion for independece in 1953, Anthony Enahoro proposed that a secession clause should be incorporated into the future constitution of Nigeria so as to give legal backing for any tribe to peacefully exit the forced union if it feels marginalized in future. According to Enahoro, such provision in our constitution would instill in all Nigeria's future leaders the fear of the consequences of misgovernance. However, Azikiwe, speaking on behalf of Igbos, rose against him in the parliament and labelled him an agent of disunity, and enemy of Nigeria. At a later date, Awolowo too made a case for secession clause, but Azikiwe again resisted him and instigated the colonial authorities to threaten him and Enahoro with charges of treasonable felony if they didn't stop proposing secession clause for the future constitution. While Azikiwe did all these, Igbos cheered and urged him on because they felt the future Nigeria was theirs to dominate and lord it over every other tribe. Before independece, Tafawa Balewa too had in a public speech described Nigeria as a British experiment and Nigeria's unity as a British intention which Nigerians themselves don't believe in. But Azikiwe kicked and demonized him too. Had Azikiwe co-operated with Enahoro, Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa about the secession clause, Nigeria perhaps would not have been this misgoverned. It should be noted that there were many Igbo members of the parliament in which Azikiwe fought against Awolowo's secession clause proposal in the link above, but not a single one of them rose against Azikiwe or condemned him. Igbos initially never wanted to hear anything like secession in Nigeria because they so much believed, though falsely, that they were the most educated tribe. As an evidence of Igbo domination agenda hence their initial resistance to the idea of secession; here is a quote: "From all indications, the god of us Igbos have destined us to rule the whole of Africa" Northerners have clearly known this & will never succumb to cheap political trick, how can u call us backward and at the same time asking us to go back to 1963 constitution talkless of even amending the current constitution? |
limeta:But Malami is pure Hausa. I will see how you will reason beyond 2023. Since our return to democracy only Buhari is Fulani and u started spreading propaganda of fulanization and Islamization because u are excessively dogmatic. You either side with Fulani again or u we the real reasons beyond 2023! |
