dre11:In this case, Akeredolu is dwarfed by Malami for having stronger reasons. We only assume opposition position on FG issues and give state Govts freedom to abuse power with impunity. State Govts are the worst in Nigeria. Governors are commanding everything in states, they charge the affairs of theirs states like emperors. Devolution of power is necessary but nothing will change. Nobody questions states who can't pay salaries and pensions, nobody ask about their allocations. I know states who skip months or reduce University lecturers' salaries but strike can't be announced in those states but if it is FG w all start making noise. |
This same scammer who use his Pulpit position to lobby contracts was scornfully rejected by Presidency and many people defended him out of hatred for PMB. Now his true picture is manifesting! |
News coming from APC National Secretariat has confirmed that the Governors forum and the party's National Working Committee reached decision and picked Former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima as Tinubu's running mate. The source of the news doesn't rule out possible last minute changes but Senator Shettima is right now the choice of the party. Details later......... |
kenedy175:I always wonder how excessively dogmatic u people are. How do u assess irregularities and rigging of election in the North when all the major political parties take part in elections and refused to complain? It is unfortunate, how u just believe or refuse to analyse some situations. The child voters captured in Kano happened during LGs election, LG is the most useless election that opposition parties don't even participate in. In most part of the North, people don't vote in LG elections and it is a big embarrassment for ruling party to show empty results of the election that is why small children are asked to join queue and vote in the election that doesn't require accreditation and card reader. They pay the children to do it and no one complain. Do u think opposition would allow this to happen if it were General Elections? |
TAJBank Limited, a non-interest bank, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), a member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, to attract funding for major infrastructure projects in Nigeria. In a statement on Monday, TAJBank said the MOU signing at the IsDB’s private sector forum in El Sheikh, Egypt, recently was to express a convergence of will to explore avenues of financing key capital projects in the country. The bank recently said it was unveiling a N100bn Sukuk (bond) under its Mudaraba structure, which the board noted would be offered in tranches of N10bn once the regulatory approvals were secured. Speaking on the pact after the signing, TAJBank’s Managing Director/CEO, Mr Hamid Joda, said, “We are deeply delighted to have crossed another milestone with the signing of this MOU, and especially with the ICD. It only further buttresses our intention of stimulating investments in critical sectors of the economy, leading to national development. “As we all know, Nigeria has a huge infrastructure gap that requires funding through long-term funds like that of the ICD.” Also speaking, the bank’s Executive Director, Mr Sherif Idi, said, “TAJBank is sustaining its giant strides, and this is seen in this partnership as we hope to do more in securing investments that will further bring about creation of jobs and production for better national advancement.” TAJBank, in its last two years, has opened 22 branches and plans a N100bn Sukuk, while the ICD of the IsDB supports the development of member-countries by providing funding for private sector projects. https://dailytrust.com/tajbank-islamic-corporation-to-fund-capital-projects-in-nigeria |
Jondelng:I don't know how great and civilised u see the south u delusionally live in? Do u really mean the south I live most of my recent life in? Go and check fact, about 80% of the FG jobs in the last 6yrs went to North, no NASS member can be reelected easily if he failed to send job offers fo his constituents. Ahmad Lawan secured more than 300 job offers for his people since the time he became senate President and you are here talking rubbish. Prove me wrong if the whole Senators from your entire zone secured job offers for their constituents as much as the jobs secured by Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita alone from Katsina state? Also look at the planned standard rail line, CAMA Act, PIB, FG institutions like Military bases, Military schools and Air force reference hospitals, Polytechnics, Colleges of education and Universities, AKK-PIPELINE that is going to be completed in the first quarter of next year, Abuaj-Kano road rehabilitation being built in the North and compare them to what South got in the last 7yrs. In the last 4yrs, the number of people that got jobs in Dangote and Abdussamad BUA's companies in the North is infinite. In 2019, we had a meeting with Dangote, BUA, current President of World Federation of Engineering, Engr. Mustapha Balarabe Shehu Kano NSE Chairmen Branches and Jigawa (Dutse) Branch, current NSE President, Engr. Gidari Wudil among other distinguished Engineering professionals under Jigawa-Kano professional forum and appeal to Dangote and BUA to recruit among mostly Young Engineers from Jigawa and Kano and in few weeks time the number skyrocketed and they're continuously being employed, hardly for a week or two to pass without number of more Northerners heading to one of their companies especially Refinery, cement and Fertiliser. Did u check the complete 3 sets (2018-2021) of Engineering graduates of Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi that are recently prepared to directly go to Dangote Refinery in Lagos? Northern Nigerian Higher education institutions are the cheapest in Nigeria, almost all Northern states (NW) send students annually to go abroad and study medicine and Engineering in numbers, students from the same zone receive scholarships annually. Health care in Jigawa state for instance, is free for pregnant women and children, education is free. This ignorant statement from U that is always coming out about Northern elites doesn't make sense at all. Ask yourself are the parents of Buhari, Yakubu Gowon, TY Danjuma, Abdussalamu, IBB, Northern Governors rich or elites? Ponder well about this word, except Yar'Adua who was born in a rich and big family almost all current and past Governors and other prominent personalities in the North are from poor homes. They worked hard to become who they're today, and everyone can become one of the greats with hardwork and commitment, so pls shun this ideology! Which kind of help, love do u want to see Northern elites give to Northerners again? You need to categorically get it right that, there are Shari'a courts in the North and people get quick justice dispensation with Shari'a courts much more than the magistrate courts. Islam is a way of life for Muslims and choosing to be tried under Islamic jurisdiction doesn't matter irrespective of ones socalial class. You need to sit back, eschew ur bigotry, take neutral position and reject the lies they've been feeding u on pulpits and see pure truth with ur naked eyes and respond to me if Northern leaders don't mean well for their people than yours. Pls don't get back to me until u do some research about my verdicts ![]() |

jmoore:Kperogi criticised GEJ because he was schemed out of Govt and criticising Atiku for deleting post on Debora is a mere criticism done by people like him who are suffering from mouth diarrhoea. Kperogi attacks personality of other politicians unlike what he did to Atiku on deleting social media post which is very acceptable. |
Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has described the claims linking the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) or Boko Haram to the recent church attack in Owo, Ondo State, as mere speculation. Fayemi stressed that no evidence has confirmed that the terrorists were responsible for the attack, which claimed several lives and left many others injured. Amid controversy over who was responsible for the sad incident, the Federal Government linked the killings to the ISWAP. However, Fayemi, who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), believes the position of the Federal Government is only speculative. “I’m not going to go into any speculation,” Fayemi said on Monday in response to a question regarding the position of the Federal Government during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily. “As far as I am concerned, the statement that ISWAP or Boko Haram or whatever other institutions are responsible for this (attack) is purely speculative at this stage. I have not seen any evidence that concretely puts this in the corner of any of these rogue elements that we have. “And really, it does not – at this stage – matter, they have committed this crime, they have demonstrated the capacity to cause maximum damage to our people.” “I don’t want us to jump the gun as far as this is concerned and that is why I am not going to go into any detail as to what intelligence we had and at what point we had it,” he added. “Our duty as security officers is to ensure that this does not occur again and we go after elements of this nature, whichever organisation they may represent within our domains.” DAILY POST reports that on June 5, terrorists attacked St. Francis Catholic Church, Owaluwa Street, Owo, during church service. Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has extended the mourning period in the State to Wednesday. https://dailypost.ng/2022/06/13/owo-church-massacre-no-evidence-links-attack-to-iswap-boko-haram-fayemi/ Honestly, Nigerians need to put pressure on FG to identify and find the attackers because Nigerians can't always be deceived by clueless security heads assumptions thereby burying their incompetence. |
I wonder why Christians allow themselves to be deceived with the issue of Muslim-Muslim ticket instead of negotiating other more important seats prior to the election, though short of justice. VP seat has little impact or power to protect Christians in Nigeria. Remember, Buhari became President with all FG structure under Muslims; President-Muslim Senate President-Muslim Speaker-Muslim Chief Judge-Muslim Attorney General-Muslim Service Chiefs- Military (except CDS), NIA, DSS are all Muslims but there is very little uproar and this shows there is aorta of politicking in the game. I'm very much upbeat that Senate President and Speaker can give Christians more protection than VP with no constitutional power to give the protection. So Christians especially the Southern politicians should work with Tinubu to secure Senate President seat and Attorney General's position and leave North with VP and Speaker because no amount of agitation will stop a Muslim-Muslim ticket and the potential of APC winning election is high ![]() |
Farouq Kperogi is a bonafide PDP member that is why he could go any length to defame APC members and other reputable politicians to pave way for his Atiku. If Farouq is truly sincere about his writings, Atiku deserve more bashing from him than others but the fact that he worked with Obasanjo in a team saddle with the responsibilities of media and press made him very sentimental. Southerners are left with difficult choice between two Muslims Presidential aspirants, one from their region and the other is from the tribe most of them so much despise and a Muslim Northerner. You guys need to know that religion favours only elites in Nigeria but not masses in steering the affairs of this Nation. Buhari is a Muslim Northerner who under his watch banditry cost about half of lives that Boko Haram killed. The number of Muslims killed in Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Niger and Kaduna State is very terrible and extremely alarming and he has done nothing as a Muslim. Osinbajo is a Christian but only condemn killing of Christians not from the deep side of his heart but because he wants to remain relevant in the eyes of Nigerian Christians, his being VP couldn't save lives of Christians killed across the Nation. VP can't play any role to change President's decisions or inactions, and in Nigeria the VP will prefer to be part of the sharing team than depend the atrocities committed on members of his faith! Therefore, it is left for Nigerians especially the Southerners among Atiku and Tinubu to choose someone who can protect not only Christians but Nigerians and Nigeria. This religious game won't solve our problems but keep pushing us into state of confusion! |

FACT CHECK: Did Peter Obi Build 10 Hospitals, Win Bill And Belinda Gates’ Best Gov Award In 2013? A viral post made on Twitter by one Prince Ujay has been shared on other platforms including Facebook, claiming that former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, won Bill and Melinda Gates’ award for best governor in 2013 and built 10 hospitals. The post read: “Are you aware that on July 6, 2013, Peter Obi won the Bill Gates and Melinda Award as the best Governor in Nigeria? And used the money to build 10 hospitals! Go and verify!” #PeterObi2023″. According to the tweet, Obi disclosed at a flag-off of the National Obstetric Fistula Repair Programme at the Anambra State University Teaching Hospital, Akwa that he had matched the $1 million grant with N120m to execute the project. Verification Checks by Daily Trust revealed that Obi was not named the best Governor in Nigeria by Bill and Melinda Gates in 2013. However, he won the award for best performing governor on the eradication of polio in the South East and got $1m grant. Obi in several interviews pointed out that the state would add N120m to the $1m grant to build 10 maternities in the rural parts of the state, build a hostel block at the teaching hospital for medical students and use it for fumigation exercise to fight malaria. A comment under the tweet read, “A million dollars to build ten hospitals? Haba! Stop trying to sabotage our combined effort by exaggerating stuffs. He is good and commendable for all his hard work. Please, you don’t need to falsify the achievements of an achiever.” Conclusion While Obi did promise to build 10 hospitals with the funds, Daily Trust could not independently verify whether he actually built them before he left office. The post is also misleading by claiming that Obi was recognised as the best governor in 2013 by Bill and Melinda Gates. This fact check was done in partnership with the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) https://dailytrust.com/fact-check-did-peter-obi-build-10-hospitals-win-bill-and-belinda-gates-best-gov-award-in-2013 |
ebenice:Do u want to tell me that he will just go and demolish a church situated in places planned by Govt as part of her urban planning structures? Why should the religious people accept to build their places of worship in wrong places just because they know they'll get the sympathy of gullibile followers on the demolition day. There is nothing like moderate in religion, you just have to be and nothing more. Is this extremism u are portraying a moderate being? |

Muslim faithful in Iwo, Osun State protested incessant ritual killings in the town and the tagging of perpetrators as Islamic clerics. The Muslims led by some religious leaders from different organisations, staged the protest on Sunday in Iwo, Ola Oluwa Local Government of Osun State. The clerics were carrying placards that read, “Islam against rituals,” “Ritualists are not among Alfas,” and “No more ritualists in Iwoland,” among others. One of the religious leaders, who spoke with journalists during the protest, Missioner of NASFAT in Iwo, Sheikh Tajudeen Bilal, ritual killing is rampant “among the wolves in dog’s skin, who people are calling alfas”. The perpetrators, according to him are not Muslims but are bad people who have covenant with the devil. “Because Al-Qur’an has made us to know that every form of killing is a sin. It also made us to know that whoever kills a soul, it is as if he kills the whole world. “This is a gathering of Muslims groups, we are a coalition of NASFAT, Salaf, Taqomunu, Quwwatulahi Haq and a host of other in Iwoland. “Islam means peace and peace must manifest in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria we are all in. Ritual killing is unlawful and negates peace.” He, however, urged governments at all levels to intervene before it goes out of hands. https://dailypost.ng/2022/06/12/osun-muslims-protest-incessant-ritual-killings-in-iwo/ |

ANTIlSLAM:I didn't even open the link he shared. I'm talking abt what happened at Abuja when he was Minister. Nobody hates u, you just go on pulpits and conspire all kinds of lies and propaganda that u are hated. The choice is left for u. Though I prefer Tinubu to Atiku but u need to know that there is no room for sympathetic voting pattern this coming election, it is either Ahmad or Abubakar ![]() You either vote for another Fulani or a Southern Muslim that can guarantee u more protection than the fake Vice from ur faith! |
AntiChristian:Those Bogots don't know that El Rufai doesn't give a Bleep about religion. He has been demolishing illegal mosques structures since his time as FCT Minister in Abuja, therefore Church can't escape his master plan. They should wait and see how APC will reply to the Wike's mosques demolition in PHC. If we aren't carefully, we will always be played by religious game in politics.... |
AntiMahdi:How do U define literacy? Is commonly defined as the ability to read/read. When Nigeria got he independence in 1960 average Northerners were literate. You people are so myopic, mentally inferior to think those who speak or write English are literate. Can't U remember that Northerners and Yoruba Muslims used to read and write and exchange correspondences using Ajami (Arabic letters) for more than 400yrs. |
Ojuntana:May be U know Buhari on the lies they feed to u on pulpit but me I know him personally. Like I quoted, pilgrimage is part of ordinary religious injunctions of Islam. To many pilgrimage doesn't make one a good believer in contemporary Islam. |
UstazAhmed:I think beside Lagos no state can match Kaduna, Jigawa, or Ebonyi who are among the least indebted states in terms of infrastructure. You guys need to see or confirm the situations on ground rather than sticking with those states who only work in state capitals to deceive their visitors and strangers! |
MyVILLAGEpeople:Nonsense, have u ever seen him in any religious activity? The same El Rufai that is known for demolition mosques and having liberal thinking. Why did u choose to tag religious accusations on people who have no any business with the religion? I always wonder how can Buhari and El Rufai be religious? They've nothing to do with religion beside identity and ordinary religious injunctions, they're neither devoted nor have any concern abt religion! |
Samunique:No Governor in the history of Kaduna has achieved more than him in all the aspects of the equations u mentioned. El Rufai killed the deceptive alliance of Christians and Muslims used to rape the economy of the state in the name of religion. Security is obviously not the responsibility of state Govts to contain at optimum level. Why do Nigerians exonerate their Governors when it comes to insecurity and blame El Rufai alone for the insecurity in Kaduna State? If El Rufai has the total control of army and other security personels in Kaduna no bandit could dare roam freely in that state. Religion is the biggest scam in Nigeria's polity where by a group of two religious bodies make alliance to dupe and dump their followers in the name of fake equity and justice. We need leaders who can deliver dividends of democracy not worshippers who expect their rewards after death! |

There was a mild drama when the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) rejected Berekete Family radio’s intervention to end the ongoing strike. ASUU has been on strike since February and all efforts to make lecturers return to the classrooms have not yielded results. On Saturday morning, host of the radio programme, Ahmad Isah, popularly known as Ordinary President, invited ASUU president, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, and his team, to explain to Nigerians the perennial problems and state why the union is still on strike. Isah also said he had set up a special intervention bank account domiciled in TAJ Bank to raise funds for the union, with a view to ending the strike. Apparently to convince ASUU to buy into the idea of the intervention, Isah publicly showed the N50 million cash donated by Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State. Immediately the money was displayed, ASUU President frowned at the development, saying they should not be associated with such. At that point, Isah threatened to discontinue the intervention and many Nigerians who phoned in during the programme described ASUU as ”insensitive”. The striking lecturers’ demands include, funding of the revitalisation of public universities, Earned Academic Allowances, University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS) and promotion arrears. Others are the renegotiation of 2009 ASUU-FG Agreement and the inconsistency in Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System. In an interview last month, Osedeke told NAN that none of these demands had been met by the Federal Government. “All the issues that made us to go on strike are still there; that is the revitalisation fund, that is putting more money into universities and revitalising the infrastructure in the universities. There is also the issue of our mode of payments in the universities. There is no university in the world where lecturers are paid salaries from the Accountant General’s Office. “We have challenged them to provide one, if universities are a universal body, why are they doing things differently. We talk of negotiation of the agreement, the proliferation of universities, among others, so there are lots of issues that they have not resolved,” he said. The ASUU president also said that the government had also refused to accept UTAS that he said had been tested and passed with a scored 99.3 per cent. Osedeke urged the Federal Government to do the needful in order for students to return to school. https://dailytrust.com/breaking-drama-as-ASUU-president-rejects-n50m-intervention-to-end-strike |
