The whole country voted for Obasanjo 1999 (expect Yuroba) and 2003,likewise GEJ. North voted for Buhari 2003, 2007 and 2011. Even in 2011 he had 12,214,853 votes. Northerners will always support their own.
Go and check the results of 2003 and 2007 yo will see that even in the places that Buhari won th margin between him and the ruling party was between 45-55%. Any state that gives a candidate 25% votes has done well for him. Those years PDP just write results to play with voters intelligence. There is nothing to be happy with the votes margin PDP used to write before Election, they just made fool out of people. Go and check how GEJ got similar voting pattern. Buhari in 2011 won very few Northern states!

Muslims won a court case concerning wearing of hijab (by pupils in public schools)? Some Christian fanatics went berserk. Some even desecrated church garments by wearing choir apparels to school. Why couldn’t they simply adopt their own veil? After all, hijab is a veil and the Bible instructs women to cover their heads, according to the Corinthians 4-12. That is one plus for Catholics. Their women use the veil and there are Catholic nursery and primary schools where the girls use veils that match their school uniform.

PoliticsPeter Obi Is Our Son But South East Will Vote For Atiku – Ekweremadu by ArewaNorth(op): 9:03am On Jun 23, 2022
Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has said the South- East will not vote for the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, in the 2023 elections.

Obi, who was one of the PDP Presidential aspirants, had defected to Labour Party before the PDP Primaries won by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.

Despite being from the same region with Obi, Ekweremadu said the South East can not take the risk of voting for Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election.

Although Ekweremadu spoke shortly after Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State was announced as Atiku’s running mate, the video is currently trending on social media.

It is unclear the media outfit that Ekweremadu spoke with but a female voice was heard in the video posted on YouTube.

“I assure you that South East will vote for the People Democratic Party (PDP). I can guarantee that. No doubt Peter Obi is our son, but you need to be dynamic. You need to ask yourself, can peter win the presidential election? Can the East afford to throw away their votes? Can we afford to be sentimental in matters that concern our people, our children, and our future ? No”

“We do not intend to do a thing which we will regret in future. So, why we believe that Peter is ably qualified, we believe that the future of our people lies with PDP. So we need to make that decision as the leaders. I am going to sit with our people and explain to them.”

“Okowa, of course is one of us, so there is no difference between Okowa and Peter in terms of protecting the interest of the South. So we will go and give the people of the South East that opportunity.”

PoliticsPerm Secs’ Appointments: Some Govt Directors Can’t Operate Computers – HOS by ArewaNorth(op): 8:53am On Jun 23, 2022
Folasade Yemi-Esan, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has revealed that some directors don’t know how to use computers.

The HoS also disclosed that Permanent Secretaries face rigorous processes before appointment.

Yemi-Esan gave the assurance in a chat with reporters on Wednesday in Abuja.

She responded to the controversy surrounding the examination and appointment of the officials.

Yemi-Esan maintained that their selection and appointments were strictly based on merit.

She said there were no malpractices as alleged in some quarters, adding that “there are no preferred candidates”.

The HOS disclosed that some directors complained about computer-based tests because they were unable to operate computers.

Yemi-Esan said her office set questions one day to the examinations without the candidates or examiners’ knowledge.

“If the permanent secretaries who are supposed to lead the digitisation process don’t know how to operate computers, how can we not say that the public service is confused.

“How are they going to lead by example? That is the first thing”, she quipped.

On the non-application of civil service rules by some Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Yemi-Esan urged any one affected to send a petition to her office.

“We don’t know the details of what is happening in parastatals and agencies except our attention is called to it”, she said.

PoliticsOrtom: Why We Can’t Pay Benue Workers by ArewaNorth(op): 9:17pm On Jun 22, 2022
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Wednesday said it had become difficult to pay salaries of Benue workers.

Daily Trust reports that workers under the state employ have been complaining of being owed three months’ salaries.

Ortom while answering questions from journalists in Makurdi, the state capital, on Wednesday, gave three reasons for the development.

He blamed factors such as the rising cost of overheads, the inability of the NNPC to remit money to the federal accural and the state’s low internally generated revenue (IGR) as a result of insecurity.

The governor said it had been difficult to coordinate the IGR due to the increasing insecurity challenge which had landed nearly two million of the state’s population in the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps.

“Even the federal government has been borrowing to pay salaries but states do not have powers to do so except with permission from the Federal Ministry of Finance’s Debt Management Office (DMO). It’s a big challenge because we are facing the economic realities,” Ortom said.

PoliticsWe Will Decentralise National Grid, Invest $550m To Boost Power Supply – Buhari by ArewaNorth(op): 5:45am On Jun 22, 2022
We’ll decentralise national grid, invest $550m to boost power supply – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration is decentralising the nation’s national grid through renewable mini-grids to address the challenges of electricity supply across the country.

The president, who revealed this in an interview he granted Bloomberg News, said the Federal Government had earmarked 550 million dollars to provide 20,000 Standalone Solar Systems, SHS, as well as Solar Hybrid mini-grids in over 250 locations.

“We are also decentralising the national grid through renewable-driven mini-grids.

“The 550 million dollar Nigeria Electrification Project has deployed more than 20,000 Standalone Solar Systems (SHS), as well as Solar Hybrid mini-grids in over 250 locations,” he said.

On grid modernisation, the Nigerian leader said there were hundreds of ongoing projects and initiatives attracting funding from local and foreign investors.

He said: “Take my Presidential Power Initiative (PPI), a government-to-government initiative between the Governments of Nigeria and Germany, with Siemens AG, to upgrade the electricity grid with a 2 billion dollar investment.

“Once signed into law the constitutional amendment bill – recently voted through parliament – will allow state governments to generate and transmit their own electricity, further facilitating investor participation in our market and enabling states and local businesses to transmit excess supply to the grid.”

On the persistent calls on Nigeria by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank to remove fuel subsidy, the president remarked that subsidy removal was becoming increasingly untenable.

“Most western countries are today implementing fuel subsidies. Why would we remove ours now? What is good for the goose is good for the gander!

“What our western allies are learning the hard way is what looks good on paper and the human consequences are two different things.

“My government set in motion plans to remove the subsidy late last year. After further consultation with stakeholders, and as events unfolded this year, such a move became increasingly untenable,” said Buhari.

He added that boosting internal production for refined products would also help.

“Capacity is due to step up markedly later this year and next, as private players and modular refineries (Dangote Refinery, BUA Group Refinery, Waltersmith Refinery) come on board.

“The exchange rate is still susceptible to external shocks that can suddenly and severely affect Nigerian citizens.

“As we step up domestic production – both in fuel (enabled by PIA) and food (agricultural policies) – the inflationary threat shall diminish, and we can move toward unification,” he said.

PoliticsRe: 10 Reasons Why The Northern Elites, Governors Worked Against Osinbajo by ArewaNorth: 10:36pm On Jun 21, 2022
tracychelsea13:
Eugene Abraham

Students of history will agree that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is a best candidate for President, in fact, as a student of history, the best stint of the Buhari administration was when he was Acting President. Nigerians will largely agree that the best decision making in favour of citizens and against the elites where made at this point.

I will state 10 reasons why the northern elites (cabals), their governors and others colluded with corrupt politicians from the south to rig Osinbajo out of the APC presidential primaries.

Some of the reasons I will list will stun people and only when they read between the lines that they will find it to be true. President Muhammadu Buhari was also part of the plans to ensure that Osinbajo did not succeed him.

1. Nnamdi Kanu: This is an unpopular reason among Nigerians but it is true. When Osinbajo was Acting President, Kanu, who is the leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra was granted bail, weeks after he was maltreated by the Buhari administration. The decision to grant Kanu bail angered the northern elites so badly that they held it against Osinbajo. To prove this right, immediately Buhari returned from his sick leave they began tracking Kanu down. They eventually caught him in Kenya and he is back where they want him to be.

2. National Livestock Transformation Plan (NLTP): The NLTP was an idea of Osinbajo and although it was a very good idea, it angered the north. The plan was going to end grazing of cows and this is one thing they do not want. They cannot imagine Abuja without cows walking the road. NLTP would have brought modernization to Nigeria but the people behind the cows didn’t want it, they even tried to use RUGA to rubbish it but when it didn’t work they used all their political weight to stop Osinbajo at the primaries.

3. Executive Orders/Knowledge of the Law: The National Assembly had a hard time under Osinbajo as Acting President. He knew that there were other ways of getting things done without the National Assembly holding Nigeria to ransom. He signed about eight Executive Orders in one day and also hinted that the days of budget padding was over. I’m sure that is why Ahmad Lawan was thrown into the race, the National Assembly feared that someday all the unthinkable salaries and allowances they earned was soon going to disappear, so they joined forces with these people who do not want Nigeria to succeed.

4. EndSARS: This is one reason that many will not understand. At the height of the EndSARS protest, Osinbajo apologized to Nigerians for the role of SARS and the killings of innocent people. He recommended that they be banned after he took the Inspector General of Police to the President. For some reasons, Buhari agreed and they were suspended but SARS was the bulldog for some powerful Nigerians and they took an exception to his role.

5. CJN Onnoghen: As Acting President, Osinbajo sent the name of Onnoghen to the National Assembly and he was appointed CJN. This action like that of Nnamdi Kanu angered the north. Many students of history know that just as they went after Kanu, they went after Onnoghen.

6. Lawal Daura: The sacking of Daura who was a bulldog for the cabal hit home harder than many had thought. The northern elites saw it as effrontery of the highest order, not only on the region but on the President. Just because he blocked the National Assembly gate? They were going to pay the man back.

7. Anti-Corruption: They know that Osinbajo was going to really deal with corrupt Nigerians, a category most of them fall into. People like Babachir Lawal who was the Secretary to the Government of the Federation was suspended then sacked because Osinbajo recommended it. Lawal hated Osinbajo since then. Of course Ganduje feared for his future along with all of them that are corrupt. They will stop at nothing to ensure that Osinbajo’s presidency does not happen.

8. Technology: Social Investment Programmes and Economic Sustainability Plan are two programmes overseen by the Office of the Vice President. In fact, Aisha Buhari, the First Lady once accused the Vice President of not giving her a quota, so that she can share to her people. Unfortunately for her, the programmes were online and they were for all Nigerians. They didn’t like technology which they feared will end their grip on Nigeria’s neck and stop many corrupt practices.

9. Sackings: As Acting President, Osinbajo paid an unannounced visit to the Lagos International Airport. He even visited the toilets after Nigerians complained online about the state of the airport. Ten directors were sacked that day and the revamp of Nigeria airports began. These persons that were sacked where put there by elites and cabals as their own security. We all know that there are many incompetent people in government and Osinbajo would have weeded them all out to the loss of these people holding Nigeria to ransom.

10. Sheep among wolves: Most of these politicians knew that he wouldn’t do what they do, they know that he wouldn’t go where they went, he was simply going to do the right thing for the Nigerian people and the truth is that, if the people are empowred, the elites will continue to lose their grip and this is what they don’t want. They want Nigeria to be forever impoverished.
You must be very dumb and has your head preoccupied by aspersions and propaganda.
What political structure has PYO has?
Who are the cabals and why did they failed to install their candidate?
Is only PYO aspiring for APC Presidential Seat that made you speak this rubbish, why not other candidates?
Who are the true stakeholders or delegates that voted in the Primary election and who do you think can influence them?

No fucking Emir, so called elite or cabal could influence the outcome of General Elections or primary elections. Politics is bigger than that game. If it were influencing of appointments and contracts that could be possible but not National issues.

You people are very ignorant just like your boss. You just used nonsense analysis that has no basis or concern as a tool to propagate your aspersions.

I know had it been Amaechi won the Primary Election only God knows the kind of blackmails, mockery, propaganda and apsersions you would spread about North.
There is no way PYO could pick APC ticket with his poor structure, low political profile, and the possibility of Northern Governors to sell him in their region. Politics is all about winning election not satisfying the desires of some midget bigots and their concealed agenda!

Muslims have deep knowledge of Bible that even Pope will find it difficult to debate the likes of late Ahmad Deedat and Zakir Naik about the contents of Bible. We have more in Nigeria that can't be debated otherwise shame will follow like Muhammad Auwal and Hussain Mubaira. Millions of Muslims across the globe and many in Nigeria memorised both New Testament and Old Testament. People like Deedat and Zakir Naik memorised many different versions of Bible and the content of the books and this helped them in converting Millions of Christians into Islam especially in Europe and US.
