Vulturereloaded:Nigerian Govts only performed well between 1960-1966, the rest are grand corruption and misplaced priorities. With what is on ground and the antecedents of Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, Tinubu and Atiku I don't think there is much choice left for us. Party isn't the problem, we need to go for individuals with vision and mission, tested and trusted no matter how little they performed, let the citize choose the best among them... |
Karemarealty288:You people think religion is the business of politicians but it isn't. Religion is just a tool use to divide masses in favour of their interest. Is this the first time we have a Christian President? Intact Christians ruled for 14yrs since our return to democracy in 23yrs. Those categories of people u mentioned will only reject a candidate when he isn't satisfying their interest. All those Emirs are well educated, well exposed and civilised people who retired to the permanent throne in their kingdoms. Go and check the lifestyle of Fmr Kano Emir, Sunusi and Sultan among others before they retired to the throne. Pharoah, Hitler can be accepted in all religious groups in Nigeria if they know how to play the game..... |
Vulturereloaded:GEJ won in 2011 and he got the requisite percentage in almost all Northern states that made him won. However, the scenario is different in this case. North and SW formed APC because GEJ broke the promise he made not to contest in 2015 and gave North the chance as part of the party's zoning agreement. Many Northerners today are tired of their kinsmen in a position that is not in anyway beneficial to them, after all Not the ruled for almost 8yrs. Competence and issue based campaign will be the major ground in the North come 2023... |
Vulturereloaded:You people are extremely ignorant of politics. How can a politician sacrifice his party in which he has power, capacity, position and privileges for another party because of ethnic or regional bias? It is good for u to know that grassroot politicians belong to social class that binds them with common interest (power and money) while religion, ethnicity and region play no significant role in pursuance of their interest. You need to wait and see how the dust of this primary election will calm down and how Tinubu will flourish in he North. What I can't guarantee u is, Buhari underperformed below the huge expectations of people and this has consequently affected the support APC used to have. Go and see how Northerners are castigating Buhari in every news publish on social media, however Atiku will definitely receive a huge set back to the advantage of APC; Kwankwaso was in PDP in 2019 election and his large crowd of supporters who are mostly PDP members will give Atiku a big blow coupled with Peter Obi's Labour Party which will definitely hurt the chances of PDP. Tinubu may not get the support Buhari used to have but you'll be disappointed! |
After all the conspiracy theories, bitterness and effort to portray us as potential betrayers finally we are vindicated and the votes and support of our Governors, delegates and the neutral position taken by the President, Tinubu emerged flagbearer of APC. Next conspiracy theories awaits the haters. BAT all the way ![]() |
Stonecold8796:Are U not yet tired of this guessing game? Let's see what u will say when Tinubu becomes President! |
They call others religious fanatics with no any evidence to back their claims but it is shameful and a big disgrace how they've been using religion against not only other Nigerians but on their kinsmen since the beginning of this hot contest in APC. No way PYO or any other religious politician in Nigeria will be trusted with power ![]() |
Munamoqel:It is very unfortunate how we rate foreign language's eloquence above competence. All economic programmes of Buhari administration are under PYO; Economic Sustainability Programme which has a special budget of more than N2trillion for post COVID-19 economic stimulus, the plan to uplift 100m Nigerians out of poverty, trader money and other economic programmes are all under him and he performed poorly in executing them and u expect us to give him another years to waste?. PYO was the Chairman of Economic advisory council of Buhari administration for the first 4yrs of this Govt's first tenure. No member of Buhari cabinet deserve to be our next President. It is mental inferiority to put fluency in English speaking above competence ![]() |
lugzii:He will to avoid disgrace..... |
Truthisunique2:Wait and see the game..... |
hisexcellency34:I always wonder the deep ignorance of Northern identity among Southerners. How on earth is it possible for Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan to be called Fulani? Where can u see a Fulani man in Yobe that can even win election? SP is Kanuri! This ignorance and propaganda is out of this world! |
Osinbajo would've accepted to step down for Tinubu but RCCG won't forgive him that is why he remained adamant from the call..... |
Arrewa:Honestly, some people expose their ignorance at the comfort of their homes instead of embracing reality. Despite our diversity in the North, North isn't united just by Islam but by first the extremely religious tolerance Sardaunan handled the North. Why Christianity failed to unite the South despite deceiving Yoruba Muslims with all sort of sinister and deliberate pressure on them to ewchew their religious principles amidst controversies of Hijab saga and alleged marginalisation? Average Northern Christian see himself as Northerner first before considering the deception slogan of the so called middlebelt mantra. During our NYSC days, some Northern Christians who tried to relate to South were never well embrace and we live in harmony as brothers and sisters with our Northern Christian brethren than with Southerners. The return of democracy and the effort of politicians to divide some Northern states along religious line to help them win election even with poor performance is responsible for creating the current religious division in the North, take Taraba for instance. Despite having the numbers, all states with reasonable number of Christians or Muslims have a Christian Deputy Governor and vice versa inorder to show sense of belonging. Look at the current political witch-hunt, betrayal, greed, bitterness and backstabbing among Southern politicians in both APC and PDP, it is very disappointing. Southern Nigeria can't in anyway manage the ethno-religious diversity of he North with averagely more than 30 ethnic groups in more than 5 states and more than 200 ethnic groups in the region. Can't u imagine the bitterness, betrayal, backstabbing among SW and SE people despite more than 98% of them belonging to one ethnic group? States of Nigeria which are generally referred to as belonging to the Middle Belt are: old Plateau (now Plateau and Nasarawa), old Gongola (now Adamawa and Taraba), Niger, Kwara, Kogi, Benue, the Federal Capital Territory, alongside Southern Kaduna, Southern Bauchi, Southern Kebbi, Southern Gombe, Southern Yobe State. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_Belt |

The Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, on Monday expressed shock and grief over the death of Dr Abdulhameed Shuaib Agaka. Alhaji Gambari recalled benefitting immensely from the late cleric’s preaching about Islam and Holy Quran. The traditional ruler also disclosed that his mother, at a tender age, learnt about the Holy Qur’an from Agaka. The deceased, 77 years old, was the father of PRNigeria publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Yushau Shuaib. At his palace on Monday, Gambari told a delegation of the family led by Daudu Agaka, Alhaji Hanafi Kawu, to take solace in the departed soul’s unblemished and righteous life. “Kwara and Nigeria have lost an iconic Islamic preacher of unrivalled acclaim. The family is synonymous with Islamic evangelism and crusade.” “The late Abdulhameed remains one of the greatest Arabic Islamic scholars produced by the Emirate”, the monarch said. The Chief Imam of Agaka in Ilorin died at a hospital in the state capital. He was born into the family of Imam Shuaib Saeed, a renowned Qur’anic teacher and Islamic leader. Agaka attended School for Arabic Studies (SAS) in Kano, and Bayero University Kano (BUK), where he obtained a Ph.D in Qur’anic Morphology and Arabic Grammar. The late Sheikh taught Arabic and Islamic Studies at Kano Educational Development Centre (KEDC) between 1971 and 1974. He was the Head of Arabic Studies Departments at School for Arabic Studies; Women Arabic Teachers College; Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, among others. Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Muhammadu Bashir Solihu described Sheikh Agaka as an exemplary preacher who promoted tolerance, humility and peaceful coexistence. Speaking on behalf of Forum of Arabic Scholars of Darul Markaz, Prof. Badmus Yusuf called the deceased a unique religious leader, who nurtured many young scholars on the true teachings of Islam. “Dr. Shuaib Agaka was not only an author of exceptional Islamic literatures, he was a community leader and philanthropist. “For decades, he provided scholarships and accommodation for indigent students especially in Kano”, said Yusuf, ex-Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, UNILORIN.” https://dailytrust.com/sheikh-shuaib-agaka-imparted-islamic-knowledge-on-my-family-emir-of-ilorin |

It made the disclosure during a security summit the group organized in collaboration with the Northern Consensus Movement (NCM) in Abuja. The summit titled, “Exploring the contemporary challenges facing pastoralism and Fulbe, with a view to proffering workable solutions in curbing insecurity across the nation”, opined that from 2015 till date, many pastoralists were also displaced and impoverished, alleging that over four million livestock were either rustled or arbitrarily killed. The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, had on January 31, 2019 kicked against the open grazing prohibition and ranches establishment law enacted in some States across the country. Atiku, who was answering questions on a talkshow “The Candidates” a month before the 2019 general elections, said the law was unconstitutional and infringed on the rights of Fulani herdsmen to freedom of movement and residence across the country. The presidential candidate of the main opposition party declared that the law cannot be upheld. He said, “We have to look at the constitutionality of those laws. I’m not sure whether they come with the provisions of our constitution which guarantees freedom of movement, the right to reside wherever you want in the country and so on, and so forth. So we have to look at that. “The constitution does not restrict the movement of people in Nigeria, so any law that restricts people from moving freely and doing their legitimate business can’t be upheld”. DAILY POST reports that some of the governors who signed the prohibition bill into law in their various States are currently supporting Atiku to emerge as next Nigerian President. Apart from Benue State in the North Central, about seven States in the Southern part of the country, including Lagos have enacted the law. Ekiti State signed the anti-open grazing bill into law in 2016, it allows for at least six months imprisonment for defaulters. Abia State also signed its own in 2018, while Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri signed the bill into law in March 2021, stating that the target is to stop incessant clashes between herdsmen and farmers in the State. Recall also that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike signed the bill into law in August 2021. Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel while signing the anti-open grazing law in September 2021, said open grazing had affected the development of the State. Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi also signed the bill on September 15, 2021. Meanwhile, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State and his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike have vowed to support Atiku’s presidential ambition and ensure he succeeds President Muhammadu Buhari. https://dailypost.ng/2022/06/02/flashback-how-atiku-kicked-against-anti-open-grazing-laws/ |
