Super1Star:Lagos is not the capital of Yorubaland, it is the commercial capital of Nigeria, built with the nation's commonwealth. Unless Yorubaland is now an independent country, your analogy is flawed. You lack basic understanding. Notice that UK, Australia, China you used in your analogy are all independent nations. The appropriate analogy is Nigeria minus Lagos. ![]() Nigeria made Lagos what it is today, not Yorubas, if not, the Yorubas in other SW states and in Benin republic would have atleast achieved half of what Lagos is today. |
Well, only two of those schools have up to 200 candidate sitting for the exam, their sample size is small and affected the entire stat. Schools with bigger sample size( higher number of candidates) are likely going to suffer when the average scores are collated like WAEC did. |
Lol! Only naive Igbos still don't think of Igbo existence outside this colonial contraption but are rather embroiled with the atavistic politics of this entity. 2027? Really? Why not 2050? Ndi ara. |
Trash The same Ozuzu where the sacred shrine of Amadioha had resided since antiquity? The blench need a critical neurological examination. |
It just had to be Igbos, that glorious ethnic group, that draws the envy of haters. Igbo Amaka! OP, change the topic to Igbo footballers, not Nigerian. |

"If it means that it levels any region economically, politically or socially vulnerable, not happening". Got the above from enlightenedmind ramblings "if-I'm-not-sure-I'll-make-it-alone-then-Let-us-all-stick-together-and-see-if-we-could-make-it-together-in-a-jealous-tribalistic-wicked-painful-way mentality. " Lol, I no talk am? " The above was my summation of the mentality of the average Western and Northern Nigerians. Ofcourse, Eastern secession is going to leave whatever that is left in Nigeria, politically, academically, socially, economically, " sportically" , etc vulnerable. But Hey, no one want to be glued with liabilities. |

" The above sums up the disposition of western and Northern Nigerians to the East quest for independence. You don't blame the UK, no sane person want to be glued in whatever form to people who are only but liabilities to you. |
Men na agba mbo. But seriously, the level of hatred for Ndiigbo in this Nigerian entity is astronomical, if those culprits were non Igbos, the thread won't reach 2 pages, if those Igbos broke good records and set New ones, Ndiigbo will have self righteous and pretentious Nigerians telling us that those Igbos are Nigerians and that we are tribalists for singling them out as Igbos and demanding their achievements be recorded as an Igbo achievements. In threads like this, I look out for those pretentious non Igbo Nigerians to come out and tell their fellow hateful Igbophobic Nigerians that the crimes of these Igbos be not attributed to Ndiigbo but to the whole Nigeria, but as usual, they all disappear into the abyss they all crawled out from. It's really a crazy world, and threads like this reminds me why my belief in an independent Igbo nation, free from envious Nigerian groups, remain resolute. |
Well, Obiano seem to be borrowing fast and furiously, the debt profile of Anambra is rising fast and furiously too. It's good to want beautiful infrastructures, but it's wise for one to live within one's means, Cross River is a case study. Obi was frugal and lived within the limits of the state resources, he was a realist and an administrator.Obi better management is the only reason Obiano seem to be doing wonders now. He didn't inherit crumbling debt from Obi. Obiano seem to be too extravagant, it's all good if Anambra gets infrastructural uplift, but debt repayment is a painful thing to leave for a successor. |
From a strategic and economic point of view, investing in Onitsha sea port is not a wise thing to do by Ndigbo, because: 1. River Niger upflow in the future will be controlled by an Arewa sovereign state, they will decide the volume of water from River Niger, that eventually gets to Onitsha, and nothing stops them from compromising it by building another dam within its course. Ndigbo can't control the availability of right levels of water at Onitsha port at any point in time. 2. The downward flow of River Niger will flow through the core Ijaw areas, an amphoteric area whose relationship with Ndiigbo can change for good or bad at any point in time, Onitsha port can easily be compromised by a hostile/volatile Ijaw nation. 3. Onitsha port will be so many kilometers away from the Atlantic ocean, the cost of dredging the entire course will be enormous, add this to the amount that will be needed to compensate and resettle Ijaw communities at the banks of the river, then the cost would even rise more. In my opinion, Obuaku sea port is a better option for Ndiigbo. The supplying upflow rivers of Obuaku are all within Igboland and can never be compromised by hateful and envious Nigerian groups, which means that the port will have steady supply of water. The downflow is through Opobo, an Igbo hybrid town and Akwa Ibom, a neighboring friendly group, Ndigbo will have a reliable port in Obuaku, we can't say the same of Onitsha. Secondly, the distance from Obuaku to the Atlantic coast is atleast, two times less than that of Onitsha, and so will cost less to dredge and maintain. A railway line can be constructed to connect Obuaku to Onitsha, Nnewi, Aba, Enugu, Abakaliki, Owerri, Umuahia, Orlu, Okigwe, Nsukka, Asaba, Agbor, Afikpo, Arochukwu, and all other Igbo towns. |

This is what I hate. This topic had nothing to do with Yorubas, it could be explored and dissected without mentioning Yorubas, yet my fellow Igbos here couldn't resist the urge to not only bring Yorubas into the discussion, but to also denigrate them. When they invade this thread now and destroy the thread, you lots will start whining. |

I hope the OP have taken his anti malaria drugs by now, early intake of Lonart or Coartem would have saved us the pains of having to deal with his malaria induced hallucinations. |

post=44780544:It's really appalling how tribal these folks are even when they fail miserably the hide their tribal bias with a camouflage of nationalism. We all know that that Scholes0 thread got to front page faster than speed of light because the stats there seem not to be in favour of SE. |
That rail is of no use to Ndiigbo, all it will do is to increase the dependency on Lagos. It will reinforce Lagos monopoly over port activities in Nigeria by eliminating need for Opening of the much needed Eastern ports and possible expansion of the East towards our natural trade routes of central Africa via Cameroun. Yorubas are the ones that need that rail to maintain Lagos monopolistic grip on the nation. Money to be spent on the useless railway line should be invested in opening up one or more Eastern ports to the standard necessary for any ship cargo, no matter what size can easily anchor. This is my take on this matter. |
Btw, why has this thread not gotten to the front page yet? The thread on IGR opened by Scholes0 got to the FP before I could type. Something fishy is going on here, or are the Yoruba( Mynd and OAMJ) mods here saying that the info on the debt profile of Nigeria is not very important ![]() |
fulanimafia:https://www.nairaland.com/2711759/how-ondo-became-oil-producing Well, we know how Ondo came to become oil producing by robbing Delta state, while Imo was stripped of her Oil producing lands in Egbema which was added to Rivers and Abia stripped of rich oil lands in Obigbo, which was renamed Oyigbo and added to Rivers state. But in the fullness of time, not one square meter of Igbo speaking clans lands will be left out in the New Igbo country |
From the analysis of the figures, SE is the least indebted zone, despite the fact that the region receives the least Federal government allocation. It shows better management of resources and living within one's means on the part of SE governments, even T.A Orji the kleptomaniac didn't leave Abia in so much debt. Anambra external debt is rising though, and they must watch it, this Obiano doesn't seem to be as financially prudent as Obi. Enugu external debt is also quite substantial, I am not impressed with Sullivan, what is on ground at Enugu doesn't justify that huge debt. South South is hugely indebted despite huge FG allocations, their government have been wasteful, but they have crude oil reserves to offset the debt in a matter of a year, if left to manage their resources, on their own. Edo debt profile is not healthy, considering she has but meagre crude oil reserves, how does she intend to offset those debt in the future? The less said about Cross Rivers, the better. Delta has huge crude oil reserves to fall on, yet that doesn't exonerate the bad leadership and embezzlement of public funds going on there. Their huge debt profile doesn't correspond to the infrastructures that are on ground. In the future, no one should post silly IGR figures without first of all giving us the debt profile, because it would appear that some of these states in serious debt are indebt because of overbloated civil service, whose tax on salary return give a false impression of impressive IGR figures, while hiding the rot( debt profile), I suspect SW states are guilty of this. ![]() |
The news source though. Can anyone get us a better news source. |

Abagworo:Applaud Buhari, Maka gini? Is he Onyema? |
Awo, only celebrated in Yorubaland and by Yorubas. That sums it all up. |
That's the thinking of yorubas you have been supporting covertly. PDP gave the SW ingrates 8years of Presidency. Like greedy oliver twist they want another 8 years from APC, the rest of the south can burn for all they care. It must be them! Tommorow when fulanis kick their arsezz around in mile12 they'll start looking for 'Southern solidarity'. That zoo is an evil enclave filled with devilish political hyenas without conscious. Whenever I meet a 'one nigeria Easterner" preaching me out one unity I feel like stranguling the empty headed idioot to death. I kicked out one from my apartment one. Let him sleep outside on the streets or beg children of fulanis driving rolls royce here abroad with eastern resources to help him. The conscience of men is dead in that zoo but they'll tell you it's about being politically sagacious or sophisticated(whatever that means). Evil! Behold a wise man from the East. |
Sunnynwa:Doesn't change my argument, which is that Anambra and Abia IGR appreciated and nothing stops Ebonyi's IGR from appreciating. |
scholes0:Imo currently is not a typical Igbo state, it's ruled by a Northern party and by a Northerner masquerading as Igbo, under Rochas imo has been out of touch with the rest of SE in terms of IGR, but more in touch with Northern states. I'd rather believe that Ebonyi will follow Anambra template than Enugu's own, after all, 2( Anambra and Abia) are more than one( Enugu). If you speak out of statistics and not out of hate, then you should know that there are more chances of Ebonyi following the footsteps if Anambra and Abia, statistically speaking, than Enugu. NB: No one is deceived by your attempts to appear "detribalized", your antecedents as an Igbo hating Yoruba man on this forum is known. |
kayfra:Lol, not really Willie fan, but atleast he is not bringing shame to us( Ndiigbo) like the Northerner parading as Imo governor is doing. |
scholes0:Lol, why are you sure that Ebonyi generated less this year? Let me guess, because you are a typical Yoruba man, an enemy of Igbo progress and only wish us retrogression? Abia generated 12billion in 2014, but generated 14billion this year, Anambra generated 10billion in 2014 but generated 13billion this time around. With decrease in federal government allocation, states are becoming more aggressive in generating IGR, I don't expect Ebonyi to be any different, I expect them to follow the Anambra and Abia template, why? Because I am not a Yoruba man, I am an Igbo man, and always wish and hope for the best for Igbo states, which is why Imo current condition pains me alot. ![]() |
YonkijiSappo:Trash. Ebonyi has a very lucrative quarry industries that yield huge IGR, added to her agricultural industries. You need your head examined. |
