raumdeuter:What exactly are you on about? Where exactly were you expecting the destination of the local flight segment to be? Ibadan or Oshogbo? |
Yorubas again? What exactly is wrong with this people? What does this thread have to do with them that they are all over the thread? |
Proudlyngwa:Lol! Why so? |
Proudlyngwa:Far from it. They believed the oil belonged to them, and that Ojukwu and Ndiigbo were forcefully taking the Eastern minority tribes away to enjoy the oil alone. That mentality of theirs is yet to change. Everything is seen through the prism of oil for them. See the way that Yoruba poster I quoted was echoeing exactly the same thing his ancestors said in 1960's without even being aware of it. They are internally wired that way. Anyway, here are more historical pics from where that one came from. |
MadCow1:Your written Igbo has improved, Okija juju. It use to give you away when you started this your dance of shame, initially. Why must you claim Igbo when you obviously are not one? How does having links to Agukwu nri via marriage, equate to being an Igboman? Are you no longer from the Igbo speaking part of Rivers state that prefers going by the tag " rivers man"? Biko rapu umuIgbo aka, stop using us for your jokes, we are not joking. Go look for your people to joke with. |
Proudlyngwa:It was taken in front of French embassy in Lagos in 1968. ![]() |
Omokunlex:Take a look at the pic below, they are not IPOB, they are Yorubas, both old and young( look at that seemingly innocent Yoruba child in the background), male and female. And guess what they were all after? Yea, Niger Delta oil wealth. They were even shamelessly calling it their oil, ie "our oil", just read the placards, and this was as early as 1968. You should be ashamed of your people.
|
MadCow1:Like a snake, it's only befitting that spitting is part of your hobbies too. Rivers man, stay away from Igbo issues and Igbos will stay away from you. To even think you once wanted to contest for Eze Ndiigbo Nairaland, confusion ga dimakwa na your head. |
96xtr9r:Eziokwu kwu oto ka amu. ![]() |
Seriously, it's Igbos like Innoson that feel like they have lots to gain from United Nigeria that looks down on those of us that insist on independent Igboland. I pray he survives this Snare without losing the little he thought he had gained from Nigeria. Goodluck to him, though it's too bad that Goodluck is no longer there and he is now going to face the wrath of the envious Yoruba/Northern alliance. |
MadCow1:You need to get a life and stop dying on top Igbo matter, after failed attempts at claiming Igbo, Mr Okija juju. |
This could have been staged too. Not in anyway convinced. This govt is desperate, it can't be a co incidence that this news is coming in at a time NLC is resisting the FG fuel price increase. This might be a poor attempt at getting Nigerians to start talking about something else other than the fuel price ish. |
The desperation of these Yorubas and Northerners know no bound. What is the connection between IPOB and this militant group. Their asking for Kanu release is only a just demand that doesn't necessary mean they are being sponsored by IPOB. |
scully95:Seriously, you are all over the place. What exactly does Igbos going to America for refuge have to do with America providing real military support for Biafrans like the British and the Soviets did for Nigerians? |
scully95:If the US or France supported Biafra, the war would have been over in months, with Nigerians completely annihilated. Biafra got no military support from any world power. France was initially giving her skeletal insufficient ammunitions but stopped giving any at all, after the British forced her to stand down. Biafran got mainly moral support from countries like Ivory coast, Tanzania, Haiti and the rest. At no point at all, did US support Biafran military campaign during the war. And btw, if US had supported Biafra, it wouldn't have been supporting a wrong side, it would have been a morally just move. But US like all Caucasian powers of this world are never about morals, they are all about economic and strategic interest, supporting a blockaded break away African nation that was being attacked by her British ally, wasn't exactly a strategic move. |
Btw. DIckson is really a dic-k for spewing such rubbish against his people. The work of a leader is to inspire his people to greatness, to right all the wrongs in them. What exactly does Dickson expect to achieve with this public image assassination of his people? For other Nigerians to applaud him as a good leader who failed to inspire his people, and for them(!Nigerians) to join him in bashing his people. Dickson truly lack brain cells, he is part of the problem and not the solution, if he were wise, nothing stops him from organizing village gatherings in all part of his state, get the help of inspirational leaders, that will table the problems of his people before them, criticize them where needed, and help them see the way forward, Dickson didn't do this, but was quick to rush to the newspaper house to blow hot air. Failed leadership is the bane of Bayelsa, and not lazy people. The history of the world is full of ordinary and docile group of people, that were inspired into achieving great feats by great leaders whose visions were beyond their time, and who found a way to inspire their people into believing in their visions and bringing them into reality. Dickson of course can't inspire Bayelsa youths to engage in productive ventures, when he was exactly the one that was sharing guns to them to shoot him into power few months ago, he has no credibility and so can't offer sound leadership Onye ara! |
I can see that it's Niger Delta/ Ijaw bashing that is currently trending in Nairaland. Funny that Igbo people that are always at the receiving end of this senseless bashing from Nairalanders have developed short memory and have joined Nigerians to continue the bashing of Niger deltans. Ngwanu, make una continuu( in PEJ voice). Anya Nkiri kam no. |
The same way U.S supported Biafra against Nigeria. So U.S has History of backing the wrong to its advantage or geopolitcal goal of control via attacking it opponents. It's a fact. Some people are just good at peddling lies. When did the USA support Biafra? How exactly did that happen? When the US made it clear that a United Nigeria in 1967 served her interests better than a divided Nigeria ie Biafra. Desist from spreading lies to the public. |
From Nigeria LNGSix Project Environmental Study of the Sterile Zone, Nov 2003 "Also due to the negative influence of Ubani Igbo, on the use of Ibani language by Bonny people (Ubani Igbo is some form of Igbo dialect introduced partly as a result of trade relations in the hinterland with Igbos and also the influence of Igbo slaves in Bonny), NLNG has set out to save Ibani language from extinction. Key informants stated that with the influx of strangers on the Island, the Ubani Igbo and Pidgin English have relegated Ibani to the background. Therefore, NLNG in April 2002, started a pilot renaissance programme to teach a group of 100 children aged 4 – 12 years Ibani language. Incidentally, at the take off of the course, interested persons had more than doubled. However, at the time of this survey, information obtained from the NLNG community relations shows that attendance was gradually declining." Chief A. T. Allison, secretary Bonny Chiefs Council is also highly disappointed at the general response to the study of the Ibani Dialect in Bonny. He agreed that introduction of the dialect into schools as a compulsory subject would help but regretted that the children would not get any encouragement from their parents at home. (Reason: They are not Ibani but Igbo) He said, “The home of the children is where the crux of the problem lies, otherwise would have suggested that the adults be ignored a bit and greater emphasis laid on the children in the interest of future generations. Therefore, whatever advantage or encouragement is given to the children in the study of IBANI, should be redoubled and given to their parents if not, all efforts would prove fruitless”. The Ibo he said is now what he calls the Commercial Language of the Bonny man. |
The story of Igbo presence in Bonny and Opobo being solely from slave trade is a lie from the pit of hell that can never survive the scrutiny of good research. |
Excerpt from memoirs of Hugh Crow (1765 – 1829), an English sea captain. "The inhabitants of Bonny, when our author last visited that port, amounted to about 3,000. They are chiefly a mixture of the Eboe, or Heebo, and the Brass tribes; the latter deriving their name from the importation into their country, which lies to the northward and westward of Bonny, of a kind of European-made brass pans, . . . It is probable (and this opinion entertained by Captain Adams and others) that Bonny, and the towns on the low line of the coast on either side of it were originally peopled from the Eboe country, and that before the commencement of the slave trade, if it then existed, the habitants employed themselves in the making of salt, . . . The King of New Calabar (Kalabari) in the neighbourhood, and Pepple, king of Bonny, were both of Eboe descent, of which also are the mass of the native. |
. |
Coolscott at it again. Anyway, no one ever said that Igbani is Igbo language. We know Igbani as the minority language spoken in Bonny villages by Ijaw people there, and Ubani Igbo as the Igbo language spoken by Igbo descendants who inhabit mainly Bonny township. |
Dlee1:You mean, Anioma people, Egbema, Ekpeye,Asa and Ndoki people, who are also SS betrayed other Igbos during the war? |
A simple look at the identities of those in support and are rejoicing over the NA brutality against innocent Ijaw people will reveal they are 98% Yorubas, why? Look no farther, look below: "With the war ended, and as a Commissioner in Rivers State, I soon found that the Rivers State for which I had fought did not end my nightmare. In the first place, oil money from Ogoni country (as well as Ijaw country) was being carted away to Lagos, leaving the Ogoni illiterate and backward. This is anti-federalism"~ Saro Wiwa |
Who have the Yorubas not accused of wanting to run away with what they call "our oil"? They accused Ironsi They accused Ojukwu They accused France They accused de Gaul They accused French people They accused Biafrans They accused MASSOB They accused IPOB They accused Kanu They accused Ndiigbo They accused Niger deltans They accused Dokubo They are currently accusing Tompolo and the Avengers. Every one wants their oil, oil that is not in Odua land. Yet they are the ones with placards. |
Obijulius:See Yorubas in 1968. Look at their ewedu and amala mouths, as they screamed "Our Oil".
|
Well in theory, Ghana found oil too, but in practice, the oil was not in enough commercial quantity to effect any economic transformation in Ghana. |
Omenka! I hope say you don call home, kno whether malle and palle and siblings are still alive. Chai Buhari! |
Anyway, this is good news. Finally the Yorubas can share their newly discovered oil with their Muslim Arewa brothers in Northern Nigeria. They can now stop threatening death and fire on Ndiigbo when we speak of seccession. And they can now stop wishing ill on the Avengers, for standing and fighting for what rightly belongs to they and their people. God bless the future union between oodua and her northern Muslim Arewa brothers, Isee! May their union and bond of brotherhood become more strengthened by this oil discovery, Isee!! May their new nation be prosperous, Isee!!! |
papparatzzi2013:Yorubas have never been about oil? Eh kwa! A picture they say, say a thousand words. Here is a picture of Yoruba protesters in Lagos in 1968. Look at the writings in their placard. Note the key word "Our Oil". You deceive no one with your hypocrisy.
