makewetalk2:The only ignorant person here is you. If you have a problem with buhari, say that and address it separately. Not sure how u came to the conclusion He is sick . Maybe you need to read more to understand what level of sickness is needed to declare a president unfit instead of exhibiting bias and ignorance all over. I advocated points addressing IMN and its founder's issues and no time did i instigate any demonizing . Knowledge is key ..seek it and not just regurgitate what biased so called social critics go around saying |
makewetalk2:I just dont understand why Nigerians fail to read in detail. What evil are you exposing here? You cannot be more Catholic than the Pope. Who is the democratic governing authority in Kaduna where this organization is based? The governor. He has decided, in law, to prosecute this man for crimes. Fair enough. Let the government prove their case. What's this Ganduje comparison? Because Ganduje committed a crime and went unpunished for now means no other crime should be punished? Is this coherent logic? Again what was proscribed? IMN not the Shiite sect. You do realize that not all Shiites belong to IMN since you claim to know so much? The government has done the right thing for once which is obey a valid court order and complied with this. It does not end his case and yes he would need to be under supervision and surveillance to ensure the purpose for his trip is being adhered to. He certainly isnt the first to be granted such during trial. Why is this so complicated. Been caught in the middle of their procession before? Experienced the treatment ordinary citizens receive when this man and his followers go out? Listened to his sermons and his non recognition of democratic government, the same ideals that allowed you your fundamental right to air your view as you have done? You prefer living in a theocracy sponsored by Iran? |
I would say take that offer sir. If its paid for , it would be fantastic. I have been to Germany and you would like the life. However, learn German you and madam. It woild make integration easier if your ultimate goal.is to explore the job opportunities in Germany once done with the doctorate. Do your math with respect to living expenses ( since its just you and your wife should be manageable but project for kids too) but overall i think its something definitely worth exploring. |
I thought the internet judges had already sentenced this man to capital punishment for the "sin" of divorcing someone and marrying another woman .this infantile rush to judgment shows everything wrong with social media and young people's basic comprehension and critical thinking I am confident more will still be revealed as the days go by |
Why the rush to judgment on a crime that is still quite fresh? Has anyone thought that maybe the lady's background may need to be investigated? Unresolved issues with her ex maybe? She is 44 and this may not be her first marriage. I expect the current husband to be investigated, if not anything else but to eliminate him as a suspect. I just abhor the rush to judgment. This is America and it is a crime that occurred with multiple witnesses . People just blabbering about what they don't know |
Hmmm can never forget the Fisherman's Invocation. RIP sir |
Hello Madam, As your learned brethren who once worked in civil service, I had to just say this little piece to you. Just to clarify, Canada does have a Temporary Work Permit program which is for those who plan to work for a finite period i.e those who are non-immigrants . If I am to believe this scheme you are about to get into, I would say if genuine , you are being set up to be a temporary or guest worker. This would present a problem down the line if your actual intention is to relocate with your family (albeit with some exceptions ) Now I have reservations with this whole agency thing as it seems you may be setting up yourself for a major scam down the line. The process of skilled migration is pretty open and straightforward and you can research this easy and cross -check to verify whatever you learn. There is a skilled workers' program everyone knows about and its best you follow that legal immigration route if this is your intention. there are lawyers who I know have migrated from Nigeria to Canada and have actually started their practice. All legal and verifiable. Please begin your research on available options for legal immigration and verify all details before proceeding. Cheers |
The so called mythical " Yoruba moslem " conspiracy often peddled here is just an absolute disgrace. I can tell majority of those who peddle this falsehood are not even from the region but have allowed their hate for Buhari to pontificate over dynamics they do not understand. They choose to look at a region and people they do not understand fully through their jaundiced ethno-religious lenses and ignore the actual facts that make the people of Southwest Nigeria carry out their political decisions. If you opine on something you dont even understand, how wont you keep making mistakes in your so called analysis. Could any of the current governors and governors-elect have been voted in by members of their own religious affiliation? Is that not enough indication that the SW is immune to such idiotic influences? Groups like MURIC exist on the fringes. They do not have any political influence whatsoever . Political decisions are made based on individual societal dynamics experienced in each state and not through some primitive religious balancing as some keep insinuating here. Anyone who is baffled why the SW makes its political decision the way it does needs to seek to know the people and understand what is important to them |
Even the PDP lawyers know the dissenting judgment was a well-articulated opinion. I think the whole judgment is really on thin ice. The major issue I see for the PDP is their inability to prove the extent to which the irregularities was able to significantly impact the election . If the numbers of the cancelled election are restored or a rerun ordered as I think should have been the case here , I guess its back to square 1 |
Coming to America |
What do you mean by "international school?" Wasn't it built with task payers' money? Mind you, it was not paid by the tithe or offerings from the church. Therefore it should respects our Allah-given and also fundamental human rights. The church cannot dictate to us which school is best suited for us to enrol our children.
Wrong . Not taxpayers money . It is an international school and a PRIVATE school. You do not have to take your wards there . Its a free country |
Man oh man! These Atiku proponents are so ingenious. It takes you to have a very imaginative mind to think this sort of gimmick can ever be pulled off . For those who think this is gonna hurt Buhari, you are only making it harder to sell your Atiku candidacy and driving public sympathy towards Buhari. Campaign on what you plan to do ( assuming there is any) and stop this disgraceful and shameful behavior. |
Man, we need education in this country. Folks claiming a president is prejudiced while refusing to see the same in themselves. Reommendation of NJC which by the way is headed by the CJN. Well, to educate people, appointment to the Supreme Court is by QUOTA... |
This man called Jonathan is such a sore loser. Oga you lost an election. Can we stop with the buck passing and the lamentation already. Instead of this victim mentality and blaming everyone else, why not be more objective to see what areas you did not live up to expectations? Its old news sir... maybe some people may forget but how about the utterances of your wife, your adninistration's slow response to boko haram( remember abuja was bombed severally during your tenure sir), and the inexplicable borrowing for recurrent expenditure during your time. I still have the pics of u dancing at a rally in Kano while Abuja was being bombed . Oga blaming America, INEC, governors wont change history. You were a disappointment and you lost. End of story! |
I have read about this man but never knew he had such a colorful lifestyle. Real wanderlust |
NICE.... great memories |
Congratulations to all |
who is the crazy person justifying illegality? |
The amount of confident ignorance that gets put out on this forum is mind-boggling to say the least. the simplest research would have given context to this post but no... a government comes to enact policy that is sensible and people reply from a point of all emotion and no factual basis and with no empirical research done. Yet when the country is not developed the same people are wondering why and cursing out the leadership. Nigerians really deserve the leadership they have. |
Rooting for the best person to win. Osun a dara o |
baum1:I agree with the points made above to a large extent and yes I do know that the US has an overbearing influence on these organizations. Here is my point. I for instance , can go sue an organization which discriminates against me or before the Employment Commission and get a judgment (yes I have represented people here in court for that so I know ) because that is the law of the land In the US. Even my firm got sued for this . I know the prevailing practice to bring in young ones as opposed to being older but no one will ever advertise blatantly as these firms do in Nigeria and say you must be a certain age before even applying. It is always an advantage in doing something young BUT if I go by your logic , people like me who changed track (lawyer to economist ) can stand no chance in a place like Nigeria with the current labor practices. I do not think that is ideal at all. As you have mentioned , there are special programs for entry level interns etc which focus primarily on university seniors (no mention of age here )to have internship experience in banks, big 4 firms etc. As I interned here at EY US , no one asked me my age and I was a masters student with four years work experience from naija so I was not one of 'em youngins. The fact that there is subtle discrimination in the Wets on account of age does not preclude firms in Nigeria from respecting Nigerian labor laws as they would not dare to do same openly in the other jurisdictions they work out of |
baum1:Point noted but for the organizations you pointed out , are these not specific programs dedicated to recruiting young professionals and not general employment criteria ? Just so you know the World Bank and IMF is not owned by the US so they are deemed as independent organizations with ability to fashion their own laws. The organizations you mention have immunity and do not have to follow any law of any country. The US specifically for instance does not allow for discrimination based on any ground such as race , religion etc. Why for instance would KPMG US hire a 30 year old intern and KPMG Nigeria will refuse same ? Is this based on Nigerian law or ILO conventions? Its discrimination and my issue is the lack of will to enforce what is in the books in Nigeria. They have been getting away with this for too long |
This is a matter that I find baffling to say the least. how these companies are able to get away with the age discrimination they practice says a lot about the Nigeria's labor laws. I see no reason why anyone at any age cannot decide to choose what they want to do and where they want to apply. Its just blatant discrimination. These companies would never do this in other so -called developed societies where they are located. reminds me of my experience with KPMG Nigeria after I concluded my Masters in the US. asking me to produce my WAEC and birth certificate all because I wanted to work in the Big 4 after the program. I then decided to take my chances here then and got a job here with their competition. When I was applying and being interviewed , no one cared how old I was. they just wanted to know if I was a fit and if I could get the job done. I think its high time this ageism thing is addressed. its ridiculous! |
pocohantas:CbCR is a compliance obligation placed on multinational enterprises (“MNE”) whereby they annually report the key elements of their financial statements. The figures are broken down by the jurisdictions in which they do business. CbC reports provide tax authorities with information to help them assess transfer pricing risk. In turn, they should be able to allocate their tax audit resources more efficiently. It is hoped that the above will help the OECD move towards a tax landscape where business activity is geographically aligned with profits generated from such activities.CbC reports are filed primarily with the tax authorities in the jurisdiction where the MNE ‘parent’ entity is located. However, in some instances the parent is located in a jurisdiction where CbCR has not yet been implemented. In such an instance, the MNE must appoint a ‘surrogate parent’, located in a jurisdiction where CbCR has been implemented to file the report on behalf of the MNE. There is a financial threshold applicable depending on the country |
I work in transfer pricing in the US and it is heartening to see Nigeria adopt country by country reporting requirements. I can imagine how this changes the dynamics for Nigeria in terms of maintaining a tax base. Kudos to FIRS |
tourphland:Going abroad is like a slate being wiped clean. You can put anything on it. You can do anything and be anything. In my own instance, i did the NY bar and also did a masters in economics. So it's up to you and the resources available and your ability |
Mindfulness:Which was why I differentiated. Now Racism even goes beyond all that. In the instance mentioned , I won't call those parents hateful. It's their preference. They have their points and it does not mean they regard other tribes as inferior. Just what they want or are inclined to support. We all have unconscious biases and preferences. |
Mindfulness:The spade is being called a spade. I don't see any racism in expressing a preference one way or another. This is not a perfect example but as a nigerian you are aware some nigerian parents do express preferences as to who their kids should marry or relate with. For some, it's a question of being in a safe and familiar zone, for some , they may express some dislike for other tribes or races etc. You would consider the first example tribalistic even where the parents do not have an issue with the tribe but just believe there are advantages in homogeneity? It's a preference. Racism is an entirely different kettle of fish to these examples. I have lived in the US long enough to understand subtle racism and no I am not one of those who cry wolf where there is none . In this instance, I don't see any and yes blacks can be racist too |
Mindfulness:I totally disagree with you and I think the issue is you need to understand what racism is all about. There are a lot of people in this world who would agree or disagree with such sentiments but would not think another race is inferior to theirs. You should understand the difference between racism and personal preferences |
[/queote] I am not sure you understand what racism is as opposed to an individual stating their dating preferences. If she has stated she does not like interracial dating, in what way does that demean whites ? |
Mindfulness:Apologies but I do not see where a dislike of interracial dating has been expressed here . Where has this been stated? |
