Such needless superstition! I only took mine off during my third trimester of each pregnancy. My husband couldn't wait to get me back in them after I had my babies. He finds them really sexy. But to each his own. Personal preference I can understand. Not because "the bible said" or "it is 'sharm' ." Most of these tight - arsed judgemental people are nasty freaks behind closed doors. Lilimax: What may be about to unfold on the Korean Peninsula could be far, far more serious and destructive than the continuing charnel house that is Syria’s brutal conflict.
Indeed, it is no exaggeration to say that the world may stand on the very precipice of a Third World War.
The US has deployed an immensely powerful naval strike group to the seas around the Korean Peninsula. China has reportedly rushed 150,000 troops to the North Korean border.
But what makes all this truly terrifying is the unpredictable and compulsive nature of the two main players involved – President Donald Trump and the North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.
I believe that the only way of averting full blown crisis is for the United Nations Security Council to initiate urgent talks aimed at defusing the rush to war.
This is something with the former UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon – who is himself from South Korea and for whom I worked in recent years as a speech writer and advisor – would agree.
The frightening truth is that unless someone brokers a peace in this escalating war of words, that promised ‘sea of flames’ really could flare up – and engulf the world.
Copied Very true. Trump and Kim could very well be twins in character. Vain, egotistical, reactive and compulsive. And in the event of a UN intervention they could both very well thumb their noses at Ban Ki-Moon. It's very frightening the amount of damage these 2 immature leaders can do with the immense power they wield. In a show of power reminiscent of a playground piSsing contest, the rest of the world could suffer, Nigeria included. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Are Many Born In Christian Homes Turning Their Back Against The Gospel? by Arielle: 7:40pm On Apr 10, 2017 |
dangotesmummy: Because their parents are extremist.
They don't make their kids understand God gradually at their own pace, they use force.every of their decision is final. They don't have a communication line with their kids to reason together
E.g they use abara or insults to wake their kids up to pray when they force them to read Bible, they don't let them read, understand, comprehend and think and ask questions if they miss a line or verse they start yelling, hitting, insulting and spanking
They don't make their children see reasons why church is important. They just force them to tie scarf, put Bible and biscuits in their bag then fling them inside the car.they continue this cycle till the kids get to their teenage years.they're just in church because daddy said we must be in church. They don't even understand the reason they're there.half of the time they're pinging and leaving church to stroll around and then come back when it's about time to share the grace
When it's time to close they follow their parents back to the car carrying their Bibles like a sheep that has no choice
As soon as they're independent they don't even bother to go to church because they don't see any reason being there since they know the monotonous routine involved in church.
Even as kids sef Sunday school teacher will flog them for not singing a verse or a line in church
Do you think that kind of individual who has gone through such experience will like church?
In Africa children don't learn about God at their own pace and level.it's imposed on them with threats, insults and child bullying
When they fail morally the Sunday school teachers ridicule them publicly in teen church
I can't even remember when last I've been in church because when I see some pastors I begin to say within me that is it this one that wants to preach to me and tell me how to live my life when I know what they do Spot on! |

otswag: The problem with Nigeria is Nigerians. Delusion is when you hope for a better future yet do not hesitate to celebrate those that openly robbed you. Dis one Don pass ignorance. Walahi, Nigerians are just dumb. Like they say, a people deserve the leaders they get. Bayelsa state alone has more wealth than most African countries. But look at how it is. See how the people live. How about Delta state? Sad. There is no hope, there will never be any hope for this country. And it is so sad because we could have been really great. When I look at Nigeria's situation I wonder even more if there is really a God that people are all so busy praying to. He either does not exist otherwise why would he allow these thieving evil leaders continue, administration after administration, to rape this country and get away scot free, living luxurious lives with their families while their people suffer and die. Or He has washed His hands off these monumentally self-centered and greedy Nigerian people, leaders and followers alike, that He gave so much but decided to fritter it away. I have 2 boys, 10 and 11, and they are starting to ask me hard questions about Nigeria that I have no answers for. Answers that make sense, anyway. How do I teach them to love this country when the little they see and hear is totally at variance with the values they are being taught? |

hopefulLandlord: Hell seems better
I don't wanna be in the company of a god that saw slavery as right and rewards rapists by giving them their victims in marriage to enjoy forever in bed
You seem pretty smart. Maybe you can answer a few questions for me. The Bible says that there is ONLY ONE way to get into Heaven: by accepting salvation through Jesus.
So it follows that the christians who ran the Nazi death camps can get into heaven. But their 6 million Jewish victims must burn for all eternity in the pits of Hell. I've talked to many christians about this and they just pretty much accept it.
My questions are:
1. How f***ed up do you have to be to believe Nazis can go to Heaven but their 6 million Jewish victims must burn? That's just sick. But christians believe it. What the f*** is wrong with you people?
2. Why would ANYONE willingly worship a god that would act like that? Is it just a fear thing (better known as cowardice)? And
3. Even if you get into Heaven what makes you think you'll be safe with a psycho god like that running the place? What's to stop your god getting a wild hair up his ass one day and sending christians to a place so bad it makes Hell look like an ice cream parlor? He used to like the Jews too. Or so the story claims. What makes you : think you're safe?
I'll await your reply |

What an hopeless man. I don't think he's hopeless. He's overwhelmed. And totally out of his element. Democracy is whole other kettle of fish from military dictatorship. Throw in his age and ill health, and that's the mess nigeria is in. I feel sorry for Buhari. The shadowy 'cabal' is also something we could speculate on till we're blue in the face. We will never know who they really are. Abba Kyari and co are just foot soldiers. There is a group of insanely evil selfish people running this country. Who have been running this country administration after administration. It is their intent to keep this country the way it is. And they have the means to do it and keep doing it. I am really sorry for Nigeria. Seeing such incredible potential destroyed on the alter of greed, avarice, megalomania and sheer evil is tragic. And we Nigerians do not have the guts, the sincerity, the strength of character and the love for our country to fight for her and wrest it back. |

temitope06: Don't judge that book from the movie, movies adapted from books rarely capture the essence of the book. That book is detailed and rich, bar Harry Potter, lord of the rings and game of thrones most books are not properly adapted in films. You are so right. Half of a yellow sun held me in thrall. But I never dared to watch the movie so I don't get let down. I didn't think Hollywood would be able to capture the essence of that book. They should have had a lot more local content. I love Americanah. When I read a book, I usually 'see' the characters in my mind's eye. For some reason I kept seeing Chimamanda ' s face as Ifemelu. I love the nickname she called her boyfriend. I think it was "Ceiling". So naughty and cute. |

ekems2017: It is always better to put water leaf before palmoil. And affang leaf as the last to make it half done. That's the real efik way Thank you. Water leave should be put when the meat is cooked. Drain most of the stock and set aside. The water from the vegetables will suffice and you only add a little of the stock at a time, as needed. Otherwise the soup will be too watery. Afang leaves is the last to go into the pot. Don't cook for long after that or it will 'die'. Basically similar to the process for edikangikong. This picture doesn't look much like afang soup. |

I think it is a bit unfair. If one chooses paid employment instead of serving on the bench, then allow those who made that sacrifice reap the ultimate benefits expected. We all know there is some element of political hand pressing and connections in the selection of SANS. Even though I believe most lawyers of that age and experience in Nigeria today, whether on the bench or in paid employment, have some affiliations, once one starts networking with influential decision makers for business (clients, retainership and the like), then political identification is almost a given. SANS have chosen their path. Let the lawyers on the bench have these high offices they aspire to and not have to fight over it with people who chose big money. |
