Kingpunter: We all got played – Lydia Forson reacts to Cardi B ‘meet and greet' saga
Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has reacted to claims that she and her colleagues in the entertainment industry were ‘snubbed’ by American rapper Cardi B.
Narrations by some of the personalities indicated that they were invited to a private meet up with Cardi B by the organisers of the show but upon reaching the venue for the event, none of the organisers would offer any explanation as to when and how the ‘Meet and Greet’ would be coordinated. After waiting for more than five hours, neither Cardi B nor the organisers showed up.
The apparent embarrassment did not only ignite anger in one but all the personalities who were present as they took to their various social media pages to vent their displeasure.
In a reaction to all that went down, Lydia Forson, who has become a target for social media trolls over what they say was a ‘lab coat’ she wore to meet Cardi B, has proffered her side of the story.
In a twitter post, the actress noted that she knew Cardi B had no idea about the supposed ‘meet and greet’ the moment she realized it wasn’t “as ‘private’ as the organisers had indicated.”
Meanwhile, Cardi B upon realising the communication gap created took to her Instagram to explain and apologise over what really prevented her from meeting with Ghanaian ‘celebrities’.
She added that some of the celebrities came down to the poolside but filed past her and refused to prompt her about the supposed ‘Meet and Greet’.
what we are experiencing now is "withdrawal symptoms" due to addiction to illegal trade practises It is usually the norms when changing a way of life that has been entrenched and engender, it's gonna feel uncomfortable at first cos the new lifestyle is strange but it gets better and better Support border closure till 2030
Arizonaguy: Juice Wrld died suddenly at the age of just 21 today, and it seems he predicted that he would die young in his lyrics. In his 2018 track Legends, the rapper - whose real name was Jarad Anthony Higgins - spoke about not making it past 21.
He rapped: "What's the 27 club? We ain't making it past 21." The song was a tribute to late rappers XXXTentacion and Lil Peep, who died in 2018 and 2017, respectively. In another line he talks about not wanting to be called a "legend", because legends seem to die young as his friends did.He continued: "They tell me I'ma be a legend, I don't want that title now because all the legends seem to die out. "What the f*** is that about?"
The rising rapper died in hospital after suffering a seizure at Chicago's Midway airport today. He died just days after turning 21 and had planned to be celebrating his milestone birthday all week.Juice Wrld reportedly became sick at the airport today and was rushed to hospital, where he later passed away.
He is said to have been still conscious when he was transported to the medical centre, but died a short time later No cause of death has been given. The tragedy comes just as his career was starting to take off.

titiloyeblog: Illiteracy in the north has a direct negative impact in other parts of the country - Senator Rochas Okorocha (video)
Rochas Okorocha, the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District in the red chamber has raised an alarm over the high level of illiteracy in the northern part of the country.
The former Imo State Governor who expressed fear of having lawmakers from the North who cannot address the senate chamber in English, asked for an intervention in the educational sector in the region.
Okorocha also stated that the illiteracy in the northern region has a direct impact in other parts of the country.
Mrshocker: I’m glad they were arrested but The only exhibit should be there laptops and phones or if human parts are found with them.
Black soaps and traditional cowry is not an exhibit!! It’s our traditional religion and some people use it just for protection and healing without hurting anyone in the process.
If traditional medicine are exhibit in criminal charges, they should also parade suspects with there Quran or Bible!! “I’m waiting for some Hypocrites comments”
This is the dumbest comment i've read here in a while if black soaps and traditional cowry ain't exhibit in this case then there is no point in laptops and phones being one either cos people use them too Dude they are criminals and these items are what they operate with Just like how phones and laptops can be use for good but they are being deployed wrongly by these cronies which is why it formed an exhibit
And aside for the degree, another thing that gives me joy is how the educational system in many parts of the world will be after the coming of Imes.
in Shaa Allaah, the greatest and most advanced the world has ever seen.
The Kuffar think education is peculiar to them. they even go to the extent of calling it "Western Education".
They think Islam is a religion of which it's components and doctrines are limited to religious rituals and practises only. rather, Islam covers spiritual and worldly life
This is due to the weakness of the Muslims of today and because they have the upper hand and that has gotten to their heads and made them arrogant and they say Islam doesn't encourage civilization.
just because many Muslims today lack deep knowledge of the Deen and are acting in ways contrary to the Deen and has caused us to become wrak. They judge from the actions of these people and say Islam doesn't encourage civilization and they feel proud because of what they have achieved.
By the time Imes will come to establish the civilization influenced by the doctrines of Islam, the likes of which has most likely never been seen, it will shock them to the bone marrow in Shaa Allaah
Indeed Islam has its civilization, the best! The Muslims of the earliest generations who stuck and stayed true to the Deen advanced in civilization and development. It's something clear from history that even non Muslim historians and philosophers attested to it.

The French philosopher Gustave le Bon stated in his book The Civilization of the Arabs: We must bear in mind that the Arabs – and the Arabs alone – are the ones who guided us to the ancient world of the Greeks and Romans. European universities, including the University of Paris, based their curricula on translations of their books for six hundred years and used their methods of research. The Islamic civilization was one of the most amazing that history has ever known. End quote.
1 – The French thinker Gustave le Bon says in his famous book The Civilization of the Arabs (translated into Arabic by ‘Aadil Zu’aytar): If the Arabs had taken over France, then Paris would have become like Cordova in Spain, a centre of civilization and knowledge, where the man in the street was able to read and write, and even compose poetry, at a time when the kings of Europe did not even know how to write their names!
2 – The German Orientalist Sigrid Hoeneker said, in her famous book The Sun of Allaah is Rising in the West, concerning the spread of libraries in the Arab and Muslim world: The libraries grew in every place like plants in good soil. In 891 CE a traveller put the number of public libraries in Baghdad as more than one hundred. Every city had a library where any ordinary man could borrow whatever he wanted, or sit in its halls to study and read whatever he wanted. Translators and writers also gathered in halls that were set aside especially for them, discussing and debating as happens nowadays at academic conferences of the highest level. The title of this book, which was originally written in German, means, “The light of Islam illuminates western civilization. This book is filled with the names of Muslim inventors, both Arabs and non-Arabs.
3 – Read these words by a Russian intellectual who explains that this religion served humanity and led to advancement and civilization. Tolstoy said: There can be no doubt that the Prophet Muhammad was one of the greatest reformers who have rendered great services to human society. It is sufficient to say that he guided an entire nation to the light of truth, and made it incline towards tranquility and peace, and preferred a life of asceticism, and prevented bloodshed and human sacrifice; he showed them the way to advancement and civilization. This is a great achievement that can only be made by one who is given strength; such a man is deserving of respect and honour.
4 – The Austrian doctor Shabrak said: Mankind should be proud to have a man such as Muhammad as a member, for despite being illiterate he was able, ten-plus centuries ago, to bring laws that we and other Europeans would be very happy if we could reach the same level.
5 – In the field of medicine and surgery, the Muslims played an undeniable role. The British writer H. G. Wells says in his book Milestones in Human History: They advanced in medicine far beyond the Greeks, they studied science and the functions of various parts of the body, and preventative medicine. Many of the treatment methods that they used are still used by us until today. They used anaesthetics for their operations and they used to perform some of the most difficult surgeries that are known. At a time when the church used to forbid the practice of medicine in the expectation that a full recovery could be achieved through religious rituals performed by the bishops, the Arabs had a true knowledge of medicine. End quote.
He also said:
Every religion that is not suited to civilization should be rejected. I have not found any religion that is suited to civilization except Islam. End quote.
It was when Muslims drifted away from true conservation Islam and they started getting influenced by the cunning Westerners that we lost our glory.
But hey! Imes is coming and when Imes comes, in Shaa Allaah, we shall regain our glory and Muslims will rise and advance in civilization again.
At that time, I will like to see any Kaafir who would say that Islam doesn't encourage civilization
Imes, we wait your coming
Hope you wake up from your delusion You've been seriously brainwashed
seguntijan: Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has posed some tough questions to the Federal Government, asking why some federal agencies such as the Federal Inland Revenue Services, Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation are not captured on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System(IPPIS). ASUU Chairman, University of Abuja branch, Dr. Kassim Umaru, raised the query while puncturing the insistence of the Federal Government that its members must enrol on the platform. In a statement on Saturday, Umaru dismissed the payment system as a scam and said ASUU members will not join it. The Office of Accountant-General of the Federation said that data of university workers and colleges of education be captured on the system between Monday November 25 and December 7. Umaru said the National Executive Council of ASUU had a meeting and directed its members not to enrol, adding that the chapter will comply with the order from the national body. Umaru argued that the payroll system is totally in violation of university autonomy and does not have any legal backing. He faulted the government for resorting to threats whenever there was disagreement between the union and government. Umaru urged the government to come to the table and discuss with the union instead of threatening to stop their salaries. “As far as we are concerned in the union, we have worked and we must be paid. Eventually, if the government decides to stop our salary then the NEC will reconsider the decision of the government then appropriate action will be taken,” “There is massive corruption in IPPIS. Did government care to investigate IPPIS itself? We are saying why is CBN not in IPPIS? Why is NDIC not in IPPIS? Why is Federal Inland Revenue not in IPPIS? But the lecturers who are just collecting stipends to be pulled into IPPIS so that our legal entitlement will not be paid. “We are not going to allow it. We are not going to be part of the staff that are going to be enrolled in IPPIS. We took a resolution and we are reaffirming the direction of the national, that is NEC. NEC took a decision that we are not going to get enrolled into IPPIS and you know what our union is actually against is that the university has an autonomy and if you look at it clearly, this autonomy we are saying is enshrined in Section 2AA of the University Miscellaneous Provision Amendment Act of 2003 which clearly explained the role of the Governing Council. “Even the Miscellaneous Act we are saying clearly stated that the power of the council shall be exercised as in the law and that status of each university. So it is clear we have an autonomy. Again, university is the peculiar nature of the appointment of university as academics. Our 2009 agreement which was negotiated by the federal government and our union is also there. So many issues are there and that is why our union is saying we should be allowed to produce a template which will have all these series of issues but not to have a center point of payment.” Aspects not captured by the IPPIS:
As submitted by Abubakar Sabo, ASUU Chair UDUS: 1. Provision for external examination for PhD and MSC students. 2. Provision for the payment of External assessment to which many would not have benefitted from and become professors. 3. Provision for casual staff such as those cleaners and gardeners that keep the university environment clean. 4. Provision for adjunct and part time lecturers who are professionals in their field but could not take full time appointment because they are already working elsewhere. 5. Provision for international experts who would want to come from world recognised universities to come and establish new programs in our universities and share their wealth of experience with us. 6. Provision for post graduate supervision which was completely removed from the platform The fact of the matter is that the government is saying universities should use their IGR to cater for all these and should this become a reality, universities will be left with no option but to re introduce tuition fees and charge higher fees from the students. Then we will now know that an average Nigerian cannot afford higher education again. That is world bank policy for you. The general idea is to localise our universities and make them unaccessible globally all in the name of a policy for payments of salary.
which autonomy are they ranting about The autonomy to work part time when you are being paid as a full time The autonomy to be enrol on different and multiple payroll A lecturer is a civil servant and whoever include an autonomy in their enabling act is senseless and evil ASUU is freaking corrupt and needs to shut up then enrol in that IPPIS They are humming cos it won't be business no more
Dino is a dumbass fool to have thought that just because he started politics before Adeyemi that makes him his political wife what an idiotic assertion btw in today's world, some wives reign supreme over their husband

You fought cancer so hard to conquer but it was so sad to hear that you finally lost the battle to the beast known as cancer, though it was a total submission to your maker because it wasn't an easy battle you encountered throughout.
Many thanks to everyone that has contributed one way or the other to support the struggling to save you, we love you but Lord Jesus loves you most, sleep on in perfect peace. Adieu.
Parablesonmarble: I respect your argument. You write like a reasonable person from a sane clime but please, check these countries you talking about. They have structures and strong institutions in place. Nigeria might be big with high GDP and stronger economy but its obvious to all and sundry that these things are not built on rock solid foundations. If we can find a way of building strong institutions rather than strong individuals and allow these institutions dictate according to the laws of Economics and peculiarity of our nation, then we are 'riper' but if we are still about personal aggrandizement in almost all we do, then we are way off tangent. Even, Buhari that is trying his best possible to raise strong institutions by implementing TSA, Integrated Pay Structure and other innovative stuff is still far off because as long as we still have prisoners of conscience in this country that are granted bail and not released, then he is trying to undermine the Judiciary as an institution. Show me a strong country in this world that is not built on strict adherence to rules and regulations as stipulated by the constitution and interpreted by the Judiciary. Finally, I'm not an Economist, Public Administrator or a Financial Manager but as a commoner, I know bills and taxes are meant to be paid but these excessive taxes, duties, levies and charges introduced all at once with little social benefit to the effect is bearing heavily on me. It is not until I attempt suicide that you should understand that these things are really depressing.
i understand and agree with your sentiment and i'm not in support of more taxes on the already very vulnerable populace. What i do disagree with is the "we are not yet ripe" cliche i sincerely appreciate your thought bro
Parablesonmarble: Nigeria is simply not ripe for the cashless policy forced on the populace. Inflation rate is high and making legit money in Nigeria doesn't come easy. Now having the hard earned money being taken from our hands again in the name of different taxes, duties, dues and miscellaneous charges will eventually lead to wahala. This is a straight fight between Telcos and banks. They've tried shifting the said fees on to final consumers, it didn't work but you can be sure they'll try again in another form. Let it be known to greedy telcos and banks that Nigerians are tired of this nonsense. Let them discontinue the service once and for all, we'll find a way of adapting. Don't kill us with burdens just to enrich your own pockets.
You folks are so quick to adjudge that Nigeria is not yet ripe for this and that which is either wrong to say or insecurities and fear playing out if i may go by your cliche, a lot of countries that doesn't have the size of our GDP implemented this successfully which begs the question. Are they more riper than we
she has the celebrity's life now The same reason celebs OD on drugs The physical and mental stress gets so much that you'll have no choice but to turn to psychoactive substances That shit get them high enough to cope with dah stress and later get them down and low Depression and suicidal thoughts sets in and the road becomes more and more narrow
bigfish3k: most countries dont have the kind of bad leaders that we have u have explained how its supposed to be but in practice that is not how it is going to be hope u see what they are doing with EFCC -witch hunting opposition- thats what people are afraid of we have bad minds and wicked leaders in this geographical space called nigeria . we dont need such a law bc it will be misused
i'm familiar with that plight bro and people's fear is justified due to the kind of politics we have but if we always focus on the not so pleasant area which is workable, we'll lose the benefit that can be accruable from the good side
Victoria Beckham's fashion business has posted another annual loss as demand for the former Spice Girl's high end clothes "plateaued". Victoria Beckham Limited, which has not made a profit since it launched in 2008, reported a loss of £12.3m for 2018. Sales slipped 16% to £35m, amid weaker wholesale demand.
Chairman Ralph Toledano said sales of clothing and accessories had levelled off after years of growth. "The performance was in line with expectations, so we were not surprised. Our goal is to reach profitability as soon as possible," he told trade journal Business of Fashion.Mrs Beckham launched her label in 2008 with a collection of luxury dresses, and now sells fashion and accessories in more than 400 stores around the world. But while she has received critical praise, the label has struggled financially, leading Mrs Beckham to say earlier this year that it was "not a vanity project".
"If I want this brand to still be here in 10, 20, 30, 40 years' time, I need to break even, and then I need to be profitable," she told the Financial Times in March. "We're on the right track to do that, but it's not going to happen tomorrow."The company has been trying to improve its performance, launching its own cosmetics range, striking a partnership with Reebok, and making price cuts. But it said weaker demand from wholesale customers had hit performance in 2018.Mr Toledano said: "I firmly believe that our destiny is in our hands. We have a great talent in Victoria and, if you take that asset with a dream team, we can do it."
Mrs Beckham controls the business with her husband and former Manchester United star David Beckham, via their company Beckham Brands Holdings. The group, which manages Mr Beckham's endorsement deals and stake in football club Inter Miami FC, also saw a sharp fall in sales in 2018.
Losses at Mrs Beckham's label were partly to blame, as well as weaker income from Seven Global, a joint venture that manages some of his corporate partnerships. It helped push Beckham Brand Holdings to its first ever net loss of £1.6m in 2018, which followed a net profit of £12.3m in the previous year.

Nollyzonenews: Following a bill seeking to regulate social media which has passed second reading at the Senate, Nigerians stormed the National Assembly in Abuja today to protest.
There is serious misunderstanding about how this bill once passed will function It isn't to stem dissent but to remove harmful and fake contents from our internet space. lots of clarification has been made to this effect but you guys choose to believe the falsehood from the opposition that it's a ploy to silence those critical of the government Most countries have one...Y'all will agree that there is need to regulate posting and perusal of contents on the internet
Twitter will begin deleting accounts that have been inactive for more than six months, unless they log in before an 11 December deadline. The cull will include users who stopped posting to the site because they died - unless someone with that person's account details is able to log-in.
It is the first time Twitter has removed inactive accounts on such a large scale. The site said it was because users who do not log-in were unable to agree to its updated privacy policies. A spokeswoman also said it would improve credibility by removing dormant accounts from people's follower counts, something which may give a user an undue sense of importance. The first batch of deleted accounts will involve those registered outside of the US.The firm bases inactivity on whether or not a person has logged in at least once in the past six months. Twitter said the effort is not, as had been suggested by some users on the network, an attempt to free up usernames.
That said, previously unavailable usernames will start coming up for grabs after the 11 December cut-off - though Twitter said it would be a gradual process, beginning with users outside of the US. In future, the firm said it would also look at accounts where people have logged in but don't "do anything" on the platform. A spokeswoman would not elaborate, other to say that the firm uses many signals to determine genuine human users - not just whether they interact with, or post, tweets.
The site has sent out emails to users of accounts that will be affected by the deletions. The firm would not say how many current accounts fit the criteria, although it is expected to be in the many millions. It will send out more notice closures closer to the deadline. The cull will not affect Twitter's reported user numbers, as the firm bases its usage level only on users who log-in at least once a day. According to its latest earnings report, from September, Twitter has 145m "monetisable" daily active users (users who come into contact with Twitter's advertising on a daily basis).
"As part of our commitment to serve the public conversation, we’re working to clean up inactive accounts to present more accurate, credible information people can trust across Twitter," the firm said about the upcoming account removals. "Part of this effort is encouraging people to actively log-in and use Twitter when they register an account, as stated in our inactive accounts policy.”
It means users who have died will have their accounts removed unless a loved one or other person is already in possession of their log-in details, and is able to sign in and accept Twitter's latest privacy policy. Twitter's current policy offers only deactivation of a dead person's account once a trusted third-party - a parent, for example - has proven their identity. However, the policy states that in no circumstances would Twitter grant access to the account, which would prevent deletion.
The firm does not, unlike Facebook, offer a "memorialisation" option that freezes the account in place and disallows new interactions - a measure to prevent abuse. Since inactivity is based on logging in, not posting, bot accounts - such as those which automatically tweet news or alerts - would also come under the cull if the account owners do not log-in before the December deadline. So too would accounts set up specifically as an archive, such as @POTUS44 , a collection of all the tweets made by President Barack Obama while in office.
GistWorld: The Senate has taken the second reading of a bill seeking to remove gender restrictions in the offence of rape and related matters.
If passed, the bill will formally recognise men as victims of rape as applicable.
The bill also seeks to remove the statute of limitation on defilement, while it also seeks increased punishment for kidnapping.
Introduced by Senator Oluremi Tinubu (APC-Lagos Central) at the Senate plenary on Tuesday, the SB2 is “A Bill for an Act to amend the Criminal Code Act CAP C38 LFN 2004 to delete the Statute of Limitation on defilement, increase in punishment for the offences of kidnapping, remove gender restrictions in the offence of rape and for related matters, 2019 (SB. 2).”
In response, Senator Bala Na’allah (APC-Kebbi South) expressed support for the bill, but noted that the amendments to criminal code being sought are limited in application to southern states.
Na’allah said, “The criminal code that sought to be amended is only applicable to the southern states. “The intent of this Bill is to make it on general application in Nigeria, and that is why we must commend Senator Tinubu for this.
“The issue of rape has been a very difficult provision in our statue and dates back to the English Law.”
Also speaking in support, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha (PDP-Taraba South) said, “I think this is a bold step in the right direction. I think this is quite commendable.”
is there such nonsense like a law being limited to only the southern states Aside that this bill is long overdue...Just this last week, four ladies raped to death a guy in my street. He was drugged and bleeped They were arrested and later released cos the law doesn't recognize the offense they committed
BluntBoy: Girls fight. That is understandable. Many of these cases happen everywhere. It can even be enjoyable
But what is hard to understand is why a guy would join in. As in, refuse to be just a spectator, but an actual participant in girls' fights, many of which are senseless, and driven by overblown issues such as rumors and unverified and unverifiable hearsays. You will be hearing stuffs like: "Esther said this about me/Maryam said that about me. I am going to beat her up. I will disgrace her. I will tell everyone how she slept with Tinu's sister's boyfriend." They never fight over politics, or women victimization or child abuse. And yet, a full-grown man allowed himself to be drawn into that sort of a drama. It is hard to understand why he would do that.
Even back in boarding school, we (senior pangolos) had the good sense never to beat girls or even punish them. We would rather call a female senior prefect to do that.
Even without a guy collaborating, that ain't fighting When two or more people ganged up to beat a single person usually of the same age group, it's bullying It happens everywhere and hopefully this serves as a deterrent
