A police Sergeant, Stephen James who shot himself after killing three men at the weekend in Lagos would be dismissed posthumously.

This disclosure was made by the state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, while condemning the actions of the cop.

It was gathered that James at about 4pm on Saturday in the Ketu area of the state, ambushed and killed three men, including two siblings for admonishing him to behave appropriately at a drinking spot.

The deceased twin (only children of their bereft mother),Taiwo and Kehinde Oyesunle, as well as their their friend identified as Jeje, were said to have admonished the drunken officer, who entered the premises of Paulson Hotel on Anibaba Street, and harassed customers to buy drinks for him.

James, a Sergeant with force number 217884, attached to MOPOL 22, Oduduwa, GRA, Ikeja, was said to have threatened to shoot anyone who refuses to buy alcohol for him at the hotel bar.



Aside being drunk, the cop was also said to have been a chronic Indian hemp smoker and was probably high on narcotics that fateful evening.

An eyewitnesses said the policeman ambushed and killed the three young men, who were in their early 30s, as they stepped outside the hotel premises where they had gone to celebrate Jeje’s birthday.

It was gathered that when he realized the implications of his action, the policeman allegedly shot himself on the chest.

The incident threw the entire neighborhood and its environs into confusion with passers-by and residents running for safety, it was learnt.

An angry mob, The Nation gathered, attempted to raze the hotel as well as burn the corpse of the cop but for the swift intervention of police officers attached to Ketu division.

The mob was said to have thrown bottles and stones at the hotel, prompting lodgers to flee their rooms with their luggage.

Reacting to the misfortune, Owoseni said the cop will be tried and dismissed in death, adding that the Sergeant can no longer be a member of the force following his callous behaviour.

“ We would try him even in death and dismiss him for his actions. We want to use this medium to sympathize with the families of the deceased and we apologize for the irrational actions of the policeman who also took his life,” said Owoseni.

Christmas festivities turned sour for the people of Imilike Agu, Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State as a son murdered his own father in cold on Friday.

The deceased, sixty year old Paulinus Ugwuoke, according to a release from police public relations unit, was sent to the great beyond by his own son

It was gathered that at about 10pm, on the fateful Christmas day, the son  had engaged his father  with his friends in an altercation over a yet to be established issue which later resulted in the alleged hitting of the father with an object.

When hit, late Ugwuoke fell  unconscious on the ground and was later confirmed dead thereby throwing the community into mourning mood.

It was further gathered when the son  and his friends saw the mess they were enmeshed in took to their heels.

Tears run down my cheek as I type this. I went into d medical profession to Save lives, but today I watched a patient die and I could do nothing.
It was around 11am today, 26th Dec 2015, I wz in the emergency room as the only Dr & House officer on call in a state Specialist hospital wen a peugeot wagon followed by a police van drove in. They opened d doors & trunk and started bringing out Accident victims. I did a quick triage & saw dat d 2 in d trunk were in a more critical condition, So d immediate plan was to refer d 2 to FMC wia dey hav better hands and equipment to handle it. So I asked d policeman who d driver is so dat d 2 will be rushed to FMC & he said he died at d Accident scene. I ran outside to buy airtime to start calling other HOs, b4 I could return, dey had dropped d 2 & drove off.
I called other HOs, only 2 showed up, others had travelled. To my greatest suprise, I called a medical officer who is a snr colleague in d proffession, she said I shud nt touch anyone till dey paid. That I shud Infact refer all of dem. I was incapacitated, d patients were in pains, crying, calling on us to help, some already unconscious, but we couldnt help cos we have an order frm above.
Within 5mins, 1 young lady in her early 20s died. Abt 10mins later, another police van came and carried d remaining 7 to FMC.
This evening, some road safety corps came to inquire if any Accident victims were brought to our center. They had retrieved d manifest frm d vehicle and contacted d families of d passengers. Dey came wit d relations of one of d patients, and wen I told dem 1 of dem died, dey asked for d Description of d 1 dat died and I showed dem d pix of d gal dat died, behold she was d 1 dey were looking for and right there was the gal's fiancee. Their traditional wedding was to be in 3days tym
I want to use this medium to call on the govt to make policies dat"ll enable Drs treat patients in such condition. Let's Save the human race

I am considering getting a ride next year. I have seen some nice ones. A BMW 3serries manual drive and a benz E320 auto.

Please kindly advice which is better; the auto or manue, considering I am based in Lagos and with the mad traffic situation. This is also my first car.
I've heard varied opinions on why one shouldn't go for heavy rides like Beema and Benz for a first car. Apart from the "high" maintenance, are there other issues I should be wary off on the two Brands.

details of what really happened to her and
where she was for those 10 days.

to be a Law student of OAU, was declared
missing a week ago, her pictures circulated on
the internet as her classmates and friends
pleaded for information that might help in
locating her.
Meanwhile, the Law students’ association of
OAU said it has no evidence that she is a
member of the department.
According to the President of the Law Student
Society, OAU, said in a post on Facebook, “The
news about this lost lady has been a subject of

“Our concern was only that a Nigerian was lost

1. They hang out at clubs/joints expecting someone to buy free drinks for them

Broke guys use the festive season to form unnecessary cliques with people at club house just to look for someone who will buy beer and other drinks for them. I am sure that "Awon werey" crew do this a lot.

2. Give unnecessary excuses to their girlfriend and family

When christmas comes, a broke guy gives tales by moonlight story for his girlfriend and family claiming he was attacked by armed robbers during his journey home hence he can't buy anything for them.

3. They lock their door when eating packaged food offered from their neighbour

Broke guys don't have calender for festive period and as a result of this, when they have visitors on christmas day, they will offer pure water or nothing. Meanwhile when the visitors leave, they quickly lock their door to eat the food offered from their neighbours.

4. They hide at solitary place

It's quite funny when I see some broke guys enjoying their christmas at solitary places such as public secondary school, under a tree and others. They do this in order to avoid spending for their friends at Christmas day.

The moment a broke guy steps his foot at shoprite, he will take several selfies telling his friends on BBM, facebook and whatsapp that "this is the best christmas I have ever celebrated".

6. Visit several friends house to eat

Owing to the fact that they can't afford to buy chicken, rice and other commodities, they will visit their friends house at Christmas to eat several collection of food. They do this because they know the next few months will be difficult for them to afford quality meal.

7. They enjoy free BRT ticket in lagos from dawn to dusk

When ambode declared that today there will be free BRT ticket for lagosians, the broke niggers in my street were so happy to the extent that they said they will board BRT buses from 7.am to 10.pm. "Shey na fun be this one too"?

8. They attend carnival shows

Broke guys storm carnival shows to watch the life performance of pasuma, obesere and other celebrities because it's free. That is why such shows are unusually crowded.

This young man landed himself in an unfortunate situation after trying to kill himself because his girlfriend told him she was leaving him.
