Newly remodelled Airports Newly rehabilitated railway lines from Lagos-Kano Newly established federal universities and Almajiri schools, libraries in unity schools and several TETFUND projects New power sector, new PIB. new Agric ......fresh air and still counting. I love GEJ. |
I like what GEJ is doing in power sector. Fresh Air |
The Agricultural sector and power sector are areas that one cannot afford not to score GEJ high. He has really impressed me with activities in those sectors. He has put in place solid infrastructure in those areas and handing over them to the private sector which is a good strategy in a country with a bad public sector attitude. |
Brimmie: NOBODY!! But these NANS are thieves fighting for their Pocket. Why bashing on ASUU?? What of FG that failed to implement what they agreed on!? And they shld stop bull5hitting us that Yaradua govt is different, as-if GEJ wasnt involved.I'm afraid, the students are right. There is no other administration that has responded proactively to ASUU strike than GEJ's. If it were Obj, he would have employed force and intimidation to end this strike and nothing will eventually happen. I remember how OBJ sacked 44 UNILORIN lecturers and shunned all entreaties to have them recalled. Jonathan is very democratic and ASUU should not take that for weakness. |
Jonathan is a reformer in the making. Our own version of Margret Thatcher. He has been intiating serious reforms that are bound to cause disaffection amongst a people conversant with spoon feeding and socialist spices like Subsidies. Thatcher broke the conservative UK Policies in 1986 by privatizing the power sector and today the country is better off with it. That is exactly what jonathan is doing in Nigeria's power sector. |
fagbalex: you must be pro Jonathan, don't you know its the information minister behind all this killing of alago people. now he's takin charge of defence ministry, he will use that opportunity to lure arms for ombatse militia group. god will surely save us from this wicked man.You must be Pro Lie. What evidence have you that Maku is behind the killing of the people or you just sit down in front of your laptop and make useless assumptions? If you read my post well, I was advocating for a declaration of state of emergency by FG to curtail this rising insecurity. It is only a party who is interested in sustaining this feud that will have problems with my position. |
FG needs to move into Nassarawa and possibly declare a state of emergency because its obvious that the crisis has gone beyond the control of the security apparatus in the state. Fortunately, president Jonathan has appointed Maku(a son of the soil) as acting Defence Minister. He is very competent and capable to handle the situation if only the state governor will agree to liase with him. |
Maku is certain to win Nassarawa elections if he contests. The incumbent CPC Governor, Tanko Al Makura, is not performing and so Maku is seen by the people as the only credible alternative to Al Makura. |
Countryman93: "This Programme was tabled before the Federal Executive Council and it was debated there and the President directed that the programme should be presented to the National Economic Council", Mr. Maku stated. We stressed the need to leave partisanship. The Governors' Forum set up a special committee of Governors chaired by the Governor of Akwa Ibom State to further debate the programme and they all agreed on a common template for the tour".Don't mind these ACN dudes, they are afraid. It's an escapist strategy. We know their antics. F.oolish people |
stpat1: I want to believe you actually a sincere Nigerian as you name states, but you are only not well informed. Whats the arrogance here? Have you really asked yourself why the federal govt is going about the states to highlight what the govs have been doing? If the feds really want to ensure the govs are working with the money given to them, they should do that from their purse. simple. From your post, I also want to assume that you are a reasonable Nigerian. The mistake some of you make is to reduce the tour to a projects display or achievement showcasing strategy. It is far far beyond that. It involves more. Take time to watch it and you will understand that the emphasis is more on federal projects. Maku makes it a point of duty to ask relevant questions about ongoing projects. He also makes the cost of the projects public and extracts firm commitments from the contractors on the completion date. That is what the tour is all about. |
take dat: Shut the fuq up, Numpty! Is the GGT jamboree the best way to promote independent assessment of how the process of governance takes place in Nigeria? The constitution empowers the mass media to uphold the responsibility and accountability of the government to the people, but it does not state that members of the media shall be ferried and catered for by the government for a "guided" assessment or governance tour. If the saying that he who pays the piper dictates the tune holds true, then nothing objective can be derived from the jamborees! You see how foolish you sound? The bolded contradicts you and highlights your I.mbecility. The same mass media forms a huge chunk of the 120 members that you are tearing your pants about. Every newspaper has a correspondent in the tour including NTA and other TV stations. You have a phobia for learning so you may not notice the daily coverage of the tour on our national dailies. simply put, Oshiomhole is saying that he cannot accommodate pressmen who came to evaluate his performance in office. I will not even join issues with you on your allegations of my imaginary involvement in the tour. I seriously desire to be part of the tour so that i would not have time to Be gossiping with fools like you on this forum. |
take dat: GGF- teleguided inspection of selected and predetermined projects! Meaningless jamboree and media stunt! Thank you Comrade Governor, we know it is all a charade!Listen to yourself. What is a charade? If FG says they have built a power plant at Ihouvbour, Edo state you will be one of those who will rush to this forum and deny it. you will ask them to show you proof and claim its all govt propaganda. Today, we have a Minister that has resolved to go beyond mere talking to visit projects sites and ascertain the level of work done. And yet you call it a charade? You are an embarrassment to this our generation and a shameless paid hireling of undignified ancestry. If you had little common sense left in that your empty skull, you would have availed yourself of this opportunity (like me)to know exactly the true state of these projects that FG keeps disturbing our ear drums about. We know what is a charade. Obviously not the projects that Maku has been showing us live and direct nor the citizens forum that is aired on National television in each state visited. |
I'm particularly happy about the steps so far taken in power and Agric. The transformation agenda is in progress with reforms and privatisation drive in both sectors. It's only a matter of time and Nigerians will begin to enjoy the dividends. |
For me, FEMI FANI KAYODE and EL RUFAI should top that list. The duo are not to be taken seriously any longer. Especially El Rufai, he keeps lying, lying and lying. The controversy over his recent publication has really portrayed him as the number one liar in the country followed distantly by Fani Kayode. Fani kayode could not renovate one single airport in Nigetia but keeps blabbing on twitter against the present administration. The corrupt dude is facing money laundering charges for the money he stole as Aviation minister. Very lousy fellow. |
Mr. Globe:True talk. When it comes to presidential elections, Jonathan will win Nassarawa, Plateau, Kogi, kwara, Benue. It's not in doubt. I know what I'm talking. The resentment against Hausa northern Islam presidency is strong in these areas. APC will fail in presidential elections in those states if they field Buhari or any other Northerner. |
Demdem: Dont let us distort facts. if not for the protest that led to the House constituting a committee to probe this fraud the retardeen had no intention to investigate. His Ribadu (which is currently dead) and AIG committee were afterthoughts after severe criticisms from all quarters.OGA, stop thinking like an I.mbecile that is high on weed. Who set up those committees? GEJ did and not labour or NASS. Jonathan singlehandedly began those probes thus becoming the first president to do so in the oil industry. It might interest you to know that the AIG Committee indicted more subsidy suspects than the Farouk led house, so desist from spreading falsehood. It may also interest you to know that many people are facing criminal trial in court on account of that AIG Committee report. You see the likes of TUKUR, Ali, Alao. Ifeanyi Uba in court steady but you turn a blind eye and pretend you don't see their trial. The truth is always constant and will efflux your deceit. Go to court tomorrow, you will still See their trial in progress. Finally, you Betrayed your ignorance of court processes when you said you hve not seen anybody in jail. These guys were indicted by AIG in August. EFCC charged them to court in September. It is only a slowpoke that will expect convictions, where the accused have pleaded not guilty and full trial is ongoing, in Febuary. Trials are not that fast anywhere in the world. |
Jonathan is the best president ever. His achievements speak for itself. It's just that haters will never want to see them. In every sector, he has outperformed all his predecessors put together. Check power for instance, he is the first president to complete Thermal power plants under NIPP and beefed up generation to above 4,477MW. To address the age long challenge of distribution and transmission, he has begun Privatising PHCN distribution companies. No other govt has come this far. Moribund railways abandoned for long are being rehabilitated. Lagos-Kano railway is back on track. Ogun-Minna cargo too etc. Airports are being remodelled. New GAT in Lagos commissioned. Benin, Kano, owerri, Abuja airports etc Enugu airport is undergoing massive overhaul. He has good Agric minister that is really bringing on board some good initiatives including elimination of the fertilizer cartel that has hinderd access to fertilizers for farmers. Many road projects like Benin-Ore and Enugu-PH hitherto abandoned by successive govts are receiving attention. In Education, he has succesfully established new federal universities, launched the Almajiri school project, increased funding to TETFUNDS, settled all outstanding issues with ASUU leading to a relatively stable calendar without strikes in the past 2 years. Refineries are undergoing repairs. Abandoned depots in Aba, Benin, etc are back. While a new PIB has been formulated to reform the industry, These reforms will surely succeed before 2015 |
Countryman93: Theres urgent need for a common sense vaccination for we nigerians to begin to fish out the conspiracy theories in our politics . Theres a saying that to whom a brain is given sense is expected. I know that after reading the things i will drop here, thousands of folks will kill me with different labels. No wahala that is the cross of good conscience and right judgement away from general public feelings and ill conceived perception. you hit them hard |
sunkoye: minister of misinformation...hehehehehehWhat makes him a minister of misinformation? Because he burst Oby Ezekwesili's bubble? The minister is a very intelligent man who is very daring and courageous to engage in any intellectual debate about Good Governance. All he said was right and Madam Ezekwesili knows. |
There appears to be a lot of controversy over this issue. But what is the bottom line? The bottom line is that OBY said 67 billion dollars was handed over to the successor govt which was led by president Yaradua. She alleged that the monies had been frittered away and labelled it "tragic choices" On the other hand, i read in the newspapers earlier before now that there is still 9 Billions dollars left in the Excess crude account. The Soverign wealth fund was also created with 1 billion dollars. The external reserve has 44 Billinndollars according to the Minister of Finance. So I wonder why OBY did not highlight this fact in her speech? |
It's so unfortunate that some Nigerians are so parochial and hateful. How can any sane mind have problem with the remodelling of airports? This is development at work. The remodelling is not only for the building alone. It involves the runways and the control tower. And who told you that Sam Mbakwe airports are not safe? Have you heard of any mishap or incident in Owerri airport owing to poor facilities. Why must we be this critical of this government? If you see somebody who is working, appreciate it. These airports were not like this before. But the present minister is really upgrading them and giving them a facelift. She deserves our kudos |
The minister of Information, Labaran Maku, is now live on NTA/FRCN addressing the media on the key achievements of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012. He said that Ministry of Information under his watch is committed to creating adequate platforms for exchange of views between the public and the government. The briefing covers achievements in Power, Agriculture, Transport, Oil/Gas, Education, Works etc. |
Sincere 9gerian: SEE-NO-GOOD and HEAR-NO-GOOD propagandist can say whatever they like. What did the southeast get from 8yrs of OBJ and 3yrs of Yar Adua (11 solid years in all)? The very few roads that we saw their construction began were uncompleted in 11yrs:Pls tell them. It's just unfortunate that some sworn haters have vowed to beef Jonathan unnecessarily inspite of his outstanding performance so far. |
Bentv Channel An exclusive interview with Nigeria’s Minister of Information Hon. Labaran Maku took place today with BEN Television, (Europe’s first Ethnic Satellite channel). The Minister was reacting to erroneous claims that he was present at the take-off of the ill-fated helicopter from Bayelsa State that crashed killing 6 people including the Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Yakowa and the former National Security Adviser General Andrew Azazi. We asked the Minister to give us a detailed account of the events. According to the Minister, after the burial of Oronto Douglas father’s, the Minister along with Kanu and Ogbonnayo Nwankwo, Timi Alaibe, Ben Bruce’ Jnr brother, Sani Umar, the Special Adviser on Media to Vice President and the late NSA, were invited back to Douglas’ house for a meal. The Governor, NSA, the Minister and Sani Umar discussed getting a helicopter together at 3pm but Umar later declined. The Minister decided to stay in the compound whilst all the others decided to go into the house. Whilst waiting outside, an earlier helicopter arrived to pick up guests at 2pm. The Minister decided to take the earlier ride with another group including Kanu Nwankwo and Timi Alaibe. The Minister had already arrived in Port Harcourt when he heard news of the crash. Indeed, without the arrival of the 2PM chopper, he also would have been on the ill-fated helicopter. In essence he was not in Bayelsa State when it happened. The Minister expressed surprise that few media houses were deciding to focus on him when many families were mourning the loss of loved ones and further added “the media should be an instrument to carry news fairly, accurately and without biased.” He prayed that Nigeria as a nation will witness more progress, developments and have respect for each other in 2013 and onward. |

honeric01: Stories like?Sahara has a rich dossier of fake stories. They gave out fake reports of Yaradua's death so many times far before his eventual death. They said Patience Jonathan was caught in Dubai airport with loads of billions, it turned out to be totally false and unfounded. They said Abuja night club-Xyrstal lounge has been bombed. It turned out to be a car explosion away from the club. They said Diezani was sick and rushed to UK for treatment. Diezani was found the next morning at FEC meeting looking very hale and hearty. The list is just endless. |
koruji: SR has a great track record getting at the skeletons in our govts closet. So stop the false righteousness.Mr Sahara agent, my problem with Sahara is that they keep manufacturing news stories from unknown and unverifiable sources. Examples abound in the past where I have been misled by their stories. Anybody intent on reading their stories must try to do so with a pinch of salt. |
This level of hatred against Maku by saharareporters really calls for concern. What business has SAHARA REPORTERS with whether Maku boarded before or after the crash. The fundamental truth is that there was a crash and Maku, either before or after, was supposed to be in the helicopter but he did not. What problems does Sahara have with that? I think this Sahara guys are getting too disparate. |
Yeah, YOUWIN works. So true. Hve heard a lot of testimonies about it. Jonathan is really trying shaa |
Elueme: The information ministry is one portfolio that can mar more than it can make and the dilemma of managing this important ministry to suit governance and the citizens expectations is the agony of an information minister. Maku no doubt is a man of impeccable character who had at a time and still riding in the muky water of politics to have the opportunity to live his dream of a great and pragmatic leadership in a country where most citizens are in dispair. He had demonstrated this by taking a different approach to delivering on his ministry by not following the usual approach of gingoism and propaganda, a trend which has not yielded results. The OP couldn't have said it less and I am not surprised at the recent attacks directed him. From my humble assessement he remains the best minister of information so far1000 likes. Let us face issues, not sentiments. |
I like d guy shaa. I enjoy watching him address issues with so much passion. |
ballabriggs: Rest In Peace to all you dolts in Maku's office. Here is the video go to 57:27 and listen. All you shameless liars will go with Maku one by one. This is an ipod age and not an NTA age.Lol. You just shot yourself in the foot. I'm sure you didn't even play the YouTube video you posted. Look at how you have come to embarrass yourself publicly. Shebi you said Maku did not address the public? But that video clearly shows that he indeed address the public and left the stage to a thunderous applause by the joyous crowd. Shame on you. This job of blackmail will not get you anywhere. It will only lead you to the path of more ridicule. |
