Health › Re: Nigeria Has Second Largest HIV Epidemic Worldwide:unaids by Asebaba1(m): 6:53am On Dec 05, 2017 |
I disagree with this, why is it that anything negative is always pointed to Nigeria? I know over a thousand person but none of the have been tested, so how do they get their statistics? They just mentioned it to get money from overseas to support NGO's. edunwablog: The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) has reported that Nigeria purportedly has the second largest HIV epidemic in the world and has one of the highest new infection rates in sub-Saharan Africa.
This is just as it said 720,000 Nigerians are on United States PEPFAR-supported HIV treatment with approximately four million Nigerians having received HIV counseling and testing services in 2017 alone. The acting Public Affairs Officer of the United States Consulate, Kevin Krapf, made this disclosure during the commemoration of the 2017 World AIDS day held in Lagos.
The commemoration was organised by the consulate in collaboration with the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) led by the Provost, Professor Babatunde Solagberu. With the programmed theme: ‘Increasing Impact through Transparency, Accountability and Partnerships’, Krapf said it reflects the US government longstanding leadership in addressing global HIV/AIDS, increasing our impact to move epidemics from crisis toward control.
He said: “It also highlights the historic opportunity to accelerate progress toward controlling, and ultimately ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic as a public health threat in countries around the world. “Finally, it emphasises the critical role of transparency, accountability, and partnerships in reaching these goals.
“According to the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), Nigeria has the second largest HIV epidemic in the world and has one of the highest new infection rates in sub-Saharan Africa. “Many people living with HIV in Nigeria are unaware of their status due to insufficient recommended number of HIV testing and counselling centres.
“Low access of antiretroviral treatment remains an issue for people living with HIV in Nigeria, and I welcome the new commitment of the Federal Government of Nigeria to use domestic funds to provide antiretroviral drugs to an additional 50,000 people living with HIV each year. “The US government, through PEPFAR, has helped not only to save and improve millions of lives, but also transformed the global HIV/AIDS response.
“Currently, more than 720,000 Nigerians are on PEPFAR-supported HIV treatment and approximately four million Nigerians have received HIV counselling and testing services in 2017. “Also, approximately 50,000 pregnant women have received antiretroviral drugs to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.” Krapf added: “We are at an unprecedented moment in the global HIV/AIDS response. For the first time in modern history, we have the opportunity to change the very course of a pandemic by controlling it without a vaccine or a cure.
“Controlling the pandemic will lay the groundwork for eliminating or eradicating HIV which we hope will be possible through the future scientific breakthroughs which will lead to an effective HIV vaccine and cure. “The US government continues to lead the way in the global HIV/AIDS response. But no one country or entity alone can end the AIDS pandemic. “We are proud to partner governments, the private sector, philanthropic organisations, multilateral institutions, academic institutions, civil society and faith-based organisations, people living with HIV and many others in this project.
“Through this collective effort, we also expect to reduce the future costs required to sustain the HIV/AIDS response.” It further said: “To accelerate progress toward HIV/AIDS epidemic control, PEPFAR continues to leverage the capabilities, assets, and technological know-how of the private sector, creating innovative solutions to complex problems.”
While thanking the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency for conducting a state-wide aggressive campaign, counselling and HIV/AIDS testing through its mobile clinic initiative, Krapf said theirdetermination to ensure a zero prevalence of HIV in the state aligns with the strategic plan of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. He also commended the Society for Family Health for providing quality health services to Nigerians, particularly the poor and vulnerable.

Why can't you spread something positive, negative minded mind EricIyke: Anambra: An unconfirmed report has raised alarm that there is face to face gun duel between the police and unknown gun men this morning in Nnewi Anambra state. The reason for the bullet exchange could not be ascertained as the source refused to give details. The Biafra Post could hear sound of gunshots over the phone when contacted but the aim of the gun duel remains unclear. When further investigation was carried out; eye witnesses that spoke said that the gun men could be party thugs who wanted to clear the area to enable rigging because people did not participate. There was no news of casualty as the people already boycotted the election; an eye witness who watched from the window of his home said that had people came out for the election, casualties would have been recorded. Further inquiries disclosed that the gun men that stormed Nnewi are Niger Delta militants who had sworn that election would not hold in Anambra state. Eye witness report said that they dressed quite like Niger Delta Militants and were not afraid of the security personnel that saturated Anambra state. “It was a face to face live firing and the police ran away in the guise of taking cover” an eye witness said. Health › Re: Why You Should Stop Eating In Restaurants In Nigeria by Asebaba1(m): 12:10pm On Oct 31, 2017 |
Please if you can still tell us how bottled drinks are make and biscuit we will be grateful. Something must kill a man bro. chatinent: Chatdom rights reserved (c) . Everyone loves a fast-food joint, because it is quicker and easier to get the stomach happy once again. .
Well, it kills the stress to cooking too, and in a scenario where you have to buy oil for your cooker, buy ingredient to cook, buy time, it seem a bit cheaper, however, is your stomach really worth the compromise? Here are few demerit reasons: . 1. What was the soup prepared with.
. A large number of people who run fast-food as business are guilty of going extra-ordinary miles to get customers inversely, doing the undo. We have had where women use the adulterated water used in cleaning a corpse to cook (as charm). I have actually seen on two occasions, where a woman is arrested for allegedly using human's poo to cook soup. Is this not inhuman? Most times, when cooking Egusi soup, they buy a cup of Egusi and another whitish stuff then grind it and mix it with the soup which really look like it's a thick egusi soup, actually we know the fake always look like the original. . 2. Dirty environment. . So far it's business, they major aim is making money, at times, their environment where they cook might be no different from a public toilet. Who cares better, then? At times, when you enter their kitchen (which is usually prohibited), what you see would clear your doubts that maybe, this is where maggots are created. . 3. Insults. Insults flow like like electric current here waiting for the vulnerable to devour. . 4. Responsibility. In Nigeria, when a child is seen eating in a restaurant, it is irresponsibility. When an elderly man is seen too, people wonder: 'what about his wife.' Taking responsibility is the best thing that can ever happen to a parenthood, where the husband doesn't look outside for anything and the children alike.. . 5. Health. There was this day I ate in a fast--food joint. The food was super delicious . I requested for another plate and ate it greedily, wow, my stomach was no longer like a punctured tube, in fact, the basketball got jealous. As I was heading home, my arse began to gossip (oh fada of the heavens! ). It gossiped, then erosion took place in my stomach.
I ran to a nearby bush to observe nature's call and before I bent down, there was already a downpour. (Judas should have sold people like the cook ) It didn't stop there, my stomach would be interpreting Arabic to Swahili that at times I turn back checking if people are behind. Is this not the sign of the last days? This is not good. At times, the food they good are detrimental to health, and may send you keeping the doctor coming always. . . Tips: Cook whatever you eat so you'll know where your problem comes from. . Origin: http://www.chatdom.com.ng/index.php?topic=61.msg82#msg82 |

jennyluv090: Can somebody tell me where I have gone wrong. We have been married for 3 years and have a lovely son. We both want another child but my husband hardly touches me. He asked me to move to my room because the cry of the baby disturbs him at night. Now when I need sex badly i have to go to his room start initiate sex. No pre-intimacy. Most times, he tells me he s tired. On the other times he would penetrate me and even before i become wet in 3o seconds, he has released. I really dont know how to handle this. I love my husband. Im sure he s battling on how to solve his problem but he keeps blaming me infront of his family that i am the reason we dont have a second child. I have been tempted on one or 2 occasions to tell them about his bedroom problems, but i choose to save his ego.
Please help out!! It might be stress and your timing for sex, if he is tired after work make it early in the morning, secondly encourage him as if that 30seconds satisfies you, he will perform better, thirdly try and be on top or learn different styled that you can do it better and somehow make sure you take you bath before going to bed, use better perfume, constant sex improves man's performance. |

Education › Re: 10 Things Every Man Should Achieve By Age 30 by Asebaba1(m): 2:06pm On Aug 28, 2017 |
saydfact: It’s true that success is not a day's work and Rome of-course was not built in a day but everyone is expected to have attained a level of success by 10 years, 20 years and even by 40 years.
We take a look at 10 things every Nigerian guy should have achieved by age 30.
1. Be Matured - Maturity is not an age thing, but if by 30 years, a guy isn't matured; then he's on his way to multiple failures on all front.
2. Be in a serious relationship - If not married, then he should be in a serious relationship and getting ready to settle down soon.
3. Be Educated (formal or informal) - He should have attained his first degree or should have graduated as a qualified artisan in his chosen field.
4.Have a Home of his own (rented, brought or built) - We don't expect that by 30, any guy should be living with his parents and feeding on their pot, he can, however, live in a property built by his father/mother if he has a flat owned by himself alone.
5.Have a paying job or business - He should either have a good paying job, even when it's below what he thinks he deserves or he should be in business, doing good for himself and family.
6. Be responsible - He should be responsible and live a responsible lifestyle
7. Be Independent - He should take his decisions (with or without advice) - He should be his own oga in that department
8.Have a set goal - He should by this age, have a set and defined goal, a picture of where he wants to be in the nearest future
9.Learn to Drive a car - Even if he doesn't own a car, every 30 years old should have attained training in driving to a large extent - an opportunity could open up or an emergency that would require him driving a car
10.Have a saving - He should have a saving plan, for the future, his family and a retirement plan.
Thanks for reading; remember to start planning today, every day counts - and if already you're above 30 years and yet to achieve some of the things highlighted above, start now to aim and work towards achieving them. True talk there
