Abagworo: Asha80 ask your elders. Buhari made Nigeria the most disciplined and least corrupt country in Africa in less than 2 years. Watch to the 2nd part of Mbaka's video. I repeat what you wrote is a joke..buhari can only stop corruption during his tenure but there is no guarantee it would not continue after that unless the structure and system of govt we operate becomes effective and then change in orientation of the average Nigerian who does not seem to realize that some little things he does everyday is a corrupt practice...ok after those two yrs what happened? Didn't Nigeria sink back to corruption?nb: I am talking about the line in your sentence 'end once and for all'. |
Politics › Re: Few Pics From Imo State by asha80(m): 5:43pm On Jan 04, 2015 |
Abagworo: Mbaka clearly stated that Igbos should vote for survival of Nigeria and Jonathan has failed. Our only option is Buhari. My support for Buhari is as old as my adulthood and is unhidden. God somehow brought some of my admired politicians like Amaechi, Oshiomole and Okorocha into the APC party. We should all support Buhari to end corruption once and for all. your last sentence is a joke..the only way corruption will end in Nigeria is effective structures and systems in place coupled with change of mentality of the average Nigerian and not a regime that would not last more than eight yrs |
Politics › Re: IKPEAZU GOVERNORSHIP MAY BE OFF- The Nation by asha80(m): 11:11am On Jan 03, 2015 |
onyfrank: IKPEAZU GOVERNORSHIP MAY BE OFF- The Nation Newspaper A huge haze seems to be hanging over the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Abia State, ahead of the general elections. It was learnt yesterday that there were issues surrounding Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu’s candidature. Ikpeazu’s form C0028, according to findings, was already with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This is contrary to information available to The Nation that the Form C002B, as it relates to Abia State, was withdrawn by the PDP national leadership, following questions about Ikpeazu, thereby casting doubt on the authenticity of the signature on the form Ikpeazu submitted to INEC. Form CF 002B is the INEC approved document with which chairmen and secretaries of parties can submit the names of their parties’ candidates for the governorship election. According to a copy of the Form C002B made available to The Nation yesterday in Abuja, only the signature of the PDP national chairman, alleged to have been forged, was appended. That of the PDP national secretary was not appended. It has raised questions in some quarters on how the document made it to INEC without the PDP national secretary’s endorsement. Our findings showed that the national leadership of the party had dropped Ikpeazu’s name. Although the party did not name any replacement, The Nation learnt that it rather asked that stakeholders should meet the governorship aspirants and Governor Theodore Orji to seek a credible replacement. The meeting is yet to hold. A source at the commission told The Nation that “it was possible the document did not pass through the right channel before finding its way to INEC.” Fingers are being pointed at a senior worker of the commission from Abia State in the alleged “smuggling in” of the Form C002B, as the PDP national chairman was said to be out of the country when the form was signed and submitted. well I gues the pdp is in a bit of a fix there. |

millionaireman: INEC Final Guber List: No PDP Candidate In Imo, Okorocha/Madumere For APC by 247UREPORTS January 2, 2015 Reports No Comments 2170 views The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] has released its list of gubernatorial candidates today January 2, 2015. The list was pasted on the walls of the INEC headquarters in Abuja on the evening of today. The list showed that the Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha and his current deputy, Prince Madumere would be flying the party banner for the All Progressive Congress [APC] while Captain Iheanacho will be flying the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA] banner. According to the INEC list, the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] does not have a gubernatorial candidate for the 2015 exercise in Imo state.
The deputy speaker of the house of representatives, Hon. Ihedioha had been embroiled in a tussle of the results of the PDP gubernatorial primaries with the other contestants – which included the former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim and another stakeholder in the party, Mazi Ararume. The primaries was tagged inconclusive following the pronouncement by the three major players – that they had won the primaries. Ohakim in an interview pointed to a possible external influence as responsible for the troubles with the party in Imo. He implied that the executive administrators in the state may be responsible for the inability of the PDP to present a guber candidate. http://247ureports.com/inec-final-guber-list-no-pdp-candidate-in-imo-okorochamadumere-for-apc/ hehe well like someone said the battle is btw okorocha and iheanacho. |

Abagworo: Ahiara is already urbanised as evidenced by the presence of most banks operating in Nigeria at the town. I must state that my journey into the villages in Imo State is an eye opener to a possible population crisis. We need to start family planning and also draw maps for city limits. At this rate of urbanisation we may end up with almost the entire State built up indiscriminately. not sure what city limits is going to do...halt building of structures or urbanination?moreover some the people you saw in those villages are probably returnees for xmas |

Abagworo: I agree with you 100%. Lest Owerri will be like Port Harcourt, the State government should intervene in property developments at the towns of Orji, Obazu Mbieri, Egbu, Awaka, Emii, Emekuku and Irete. My journey from back of Orji to Mbieri and Owerri via Egbu to Emekuku was a cause for concern. Slums and unplanned settlements have sprung up so much that everywhere seems urbanised in a rural way without streets, layouts and highways. That was how Aba got bad. I was shocked when I travelled from owerri to mbaise...mehn something needs to be done.. |

spyder880: Thank you for your points, I wonder how we could be thinking of killing snakes and replacing them with antelopes, the village neighbours will just eat them up. Please leave the villages as they are to develop on their speed. I tire for that kind thinking...improving agricultural techniques, comprehensive construction of access road to,within and fro these villages, presence of basic amenites like electricity and water are the things that would bounce some dormant villages to life..my village was quite notorious for no light until last yr when all the bad transformers were changed and new ones installed and almost automatically the economic activities in the village bounced back to life...access roads had never been a problem and it helped the situation....i laugh at the thought of levelling villages and relocating them to towns I mean like the way red Indians were done some centuries back?which villagers especially in the se would tolerate that?as for killing snakes and replacing them with antelopes smh. |

biafrandream: This might sound stupid but I think this guy is making a lot of sense. If our villages are so wonderful, why don't we live in them. I want our villages to be completely overhauled. Modern agriculture should be adopted to create jobs. Americans, Brits and every developed world live in their villages, but we abandon ours to abroad and return there seasonably. It is a clear evidence that our system is not working and should be changed. If I have my way, all our villages should be fumigated against deadly reptiles like snakes and scorpions and then I will introduce, harmless animals like antelopes to move freely in our grasslands. That was what the whiteman did to make their land look like paradise. I thank God, people are thinking. the guy makes no sense..people are nit living much in their villages due to mordern economic issues of trying to 'live better life' and at times the belief that the grass is greener on the other side..eliminate snakes?part of the ecological system?are you willing to also eliminate all the rats and frogs that these snakes help to reduce their population?replace them with antelopes? From where?when you say antelopes do you mean local variety like mgbada that prefers thick vegetation to open grasslands or do you mean the Sudan or sahel savanah types that probably would not survive out tropical rain forest region?why these type of thinking?have all the diamond back rattlesnakes being eliminated from rural Texas and surroundings before Americans settled there?would Americans even think of it ?where are there conservation efforts to maintain and increase numbers of endangered or decreasing numbers of animal species no matter how deadly and poisonous they are?I wonder where you get the idea that that is what oyibos did but I can tell you oyibos are regretting some past actions they did... |

Meanwhile, there's a train station in ogui, you'll see their sign post once you stop at subway bus stop, ogui road. They run every Monday and Thursday, 7am departure time. Rate is quite fair, I believe it will increase as people patronise the rail. Lot of people don't know about this new development. HappyJoe: Not totally correct. Many traders use "Ali Baba" and "VConnect" to get the best quotes (Ali Baba is a Chinese ecommerce site). There is heavy Internet usage among younger traders (especially those involved in import/export trade). You should spend some time talking with them. You cannot just go to a trader telling them "you want to design a website", you've got to demonstrate what value that website adds. I was bidding for a job with Alaba traders, the website was to be a clearing house for their goods - & they saw the benefit. Since I didn't have a brand name, I was to be paid a percentage of sales and that is logical; ecommerce is a risky channel - and in any case, Alaba traders sell their goods via Konga!! So they aren't as ignorant as you think. he is talking of Onitsha traders not alaba traders unless there isn't a difference between the two |

B2mario: Me TA Orji apologist? You don't know me before.
I'm here to defend my state not the govt that has failed my beloved city, Aba.
Before now some people who relied on internet has called Aba all sort of bad names based on what they got on internet.
I've criticise Abia and her govt but my defense of state started when some Anambra indigenes who i know too well that they are suffering the same problem of bad governance claimed that their state is better than our beautiful state and swear to deal with anybody who mention their state on the vanguard of bad governance.
While as someone who grew up in Osha knows that the city can not be compared with Aba in anyway. Get your fact!
I and Customied13 have not said that Abia is not bad, it is just like other Nigerian states and maybe placed among the 1st 10 finest state in Nigeria and 2nd in SE after imo state, why it will be placed before Enugu state is that outside the Enugu city no other place can be compared with Aba, Umuahia, Ohaofia, bende, Abiriba, Ukwa etc.
Those things you noticed about our govt I've noticed them before you, and we are here to correct the impression that Abia is the worst state in Nigeria while in the actual sense Abia is the 10th finest state in the federation.
We have almost everything except seaport and Airport but believe me by February next year our airport will start working. by February the new airport would start working?are you kidding me?has construction even started? |
