It is smooth now.
It was shabbily reconstructed by Rochas but now much better than before and no longer a threat to one's car.
No complaints really, unless you are a perfectionist.
hehe at perfectionist...it is just that I know that axis well and any shoddy construction job would not last because of the terrain...it is like doing a shooddy job on ihube axis of anara to okigwe federal road.

The single lane Ihiagwa - Nekede road is still good enough as a by-pass. I passed through it just last week. The road is in an ok condition.
Only that many people still think it is as bad as before so they don't other taking the risk.
how is the stretch from futo back gate to poly nekede junction?that axis used to be the worst area of that road.

kreamidiva:
Most people in Abia state clearly don't want anything or anyone that has anything to do with this clueless governor of ours but this is Nigeria the Great, where shit happens and people go scot free with the rubbish they dole out to innocent people.

My mum's pension wasn't paid for January and September. The reason? The money provided wasn't enough to cater for all the pensioners and some names were dropped from the list of the pensioners to be paid!

My mum felt very bad. I was pained too because there was nothing we could do about it.

I dislike T.A Orji and everything he stands for. The worst part is his stewpid son who feels he owns Abia.

God will liberate us Abians because I know Abia is operating under a curse from T.A and his cohorts!
God will not do for ndi abia what they should and can do for themselves

If he eva wins,Aba is gon receive worse treatment than TA did to them

Abia Leather Workers Want Industrial Site To Boost Output

Agency Report
— Dec 23, 2014 | 0 Comments

The Leather Product Manufacturers Association of Abia (LEPMAS) on Tuesday called on the state government to provide an industrial site and other facilities needed to boost their productivity.

The President of LEPMAS, Mr Chigozie Uzoma, made the call during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Aba, Abia.

He said that the association needed an industrial site with expanded work floor to help them utilise some big machinery which they received from donor agencies and partners.

“We are asking for an industrial site because some of the machinery we were given by Growth and Employment in the States (GEMS) project cannot be put to use in these small shops we are in now.

“So, we need an expanded work floor with all-day-round electricity supply to power such machines.

“With such machines, our leather products will be made according to international standards and our productivity will increase because machines work faster than men,” he said.

Uzoma said that with government’s assistance in these areas, the leather works sector in Abia state would grow and contribute substantially to Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings.

The president said that LEPMAS should be provided with long term loans to enable them to boost their productivity.

He requested for reduction in interest rate on loans, adding that with the products coming off the production line at a cheaper rate, they would compete favourably with their foreign counterparts.

He said that the sector, which could boast of about 15,600 registered members, would double its job output if given the necessary support. (NAN)

well anyone that become the governor of abia in February should look into this.

Abagworo:
It is under construction then. When completed it will have streetlights like every other roads. I mean the "streetpoles" because my stay in Owerri is mostly around Concorde area at night. However other towns dont have "streetpoles" not to talk of being functional.
good you said streetpoles which was installed in the seventies and eighties and not that they are functional..when you are talk about owerri know that owerri urban is beyond Concorde area..in fact in the eighties Concorde area was actually a 'minority' area is part of the emerging new owerri.i am more interested in solid asphalt of that road so that the eyesore I am seeing on other constructed road around owerri is not repeated.
PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by asha80(m): 8:03am On Dec 27, 2014
Abagworo:
Mbari is completely lighted. I dont really know this Chukwuma Nwoha. I have not been to a road without streetlight in Owerri.
then you obviously do not know owerri well...i hope you are not confusing old street poles you see to mean that that the street lights are functional...i repeat mbari street lights are not functional and I am in owerri at the moment..chukwuma nwoha is the road that connects egbu road to imsu that is under construction for dualization...i hope they do not do shoddy job there and since rochas has already inspected it in one of the pics you posted here let the excuse you are giving that rochad is not aware of such poor construction not surface.
PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by asha80(m): 7:52am On Dec 27, 2014
Abagworo:
Whatever I write is what I know and devoid of sentiments. Uyo neither has roads nor streetlights except along few major roads. Enugu is even better than Uyo but none of them has as much as Owerri which every street has streetlights.

Solar powered streetlights are not as bright as generator ones just like your inverters dont carry heavy loads. It is wiser and functions more regularly.
abagworo pls stop with talk that every street in owerri has streetlight...you are beginning to sound like a sycophant..come to aladinma, ikenegbu ,fed housing, prefab or is it chukwuma nwoha, mbari road?

Abagworo:
Owerri is fine and Rochas to me is the best but he needs to focus more on road inspection. Many roads were not properly executed and I believe he might not be aware. Its better to leave some of the roads undone and share the money. Let him try and visit Okigwe area to ascertain things himself.
maybe this issue of pegging road construction to 60m per km needs to be looked into...it makes no sense to build haphazard road only for the road to nerd reconstruction two yrs later

There's a mistake they keep making about roads in owerri. Owerri has a very different soil from other places in Nigeria but they keep using same method other states use to make road. Owerri soil is too prone to erosion, imo state government need to understand that it will cost them more to make road. I saw new roads made my Rochas Administration, they give way damn too fast! Even the thickness of the asphalt is too small.
Those hospitals he's erecting in every LG gives me joy, I see steady progress each time I pass imo state. They are massive,i must confess, I fear for ability to maintain them later on. That's usually the issue. I hope maintenance system is part of their plan...
the road constructions I have seen are quite poor

vote your candidate let your friends vote theirs

Abagworo:
Otti is the best but he cannot win. His strong zone is barely 3 or 4 LGA. He cannot win Obingwa. Ikpeazu on the other hand has the entire Abia North and central with exception of Osisioma.
by rigging or by clear votes.

The contest is between Okorocha and Ihenacho. Okorocha is winning any way as APGA is disorganized just like PDP. Everybody wants to be Governor at the same time or I work against you.
if you notice I am not giving any pdp candidate a chance...i simply wanted to correct an impression on that guy I quoted...you are actually wrong when you say rochas is gonna win it as if it is a done deal because of what ezeah is doing why?because iheanachos name has already being submitted and quite a number of people I have talked with know him as apga candidate and it seems he is quite popular for whatever reason..ezeah is just trying to make noise for whatever reason..rochas is popular but not a done deal as you are insinuating..also a lot of other factors would also come into play that may swing votes.
PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by asha80(m): 2:00pm On Dec 23, 2014
Abagworo:
You should differentiate figures of speech from direct insinuations. I believe you understood what I wrote. Owerri is not like a typical Igbo city.

As for your score of 50% execution, I fault it as low with regards to my own assessement. The only fault I find in Okorocha is that some of the roads lack precinct finishing. Example some of the curves on the roads or drainages look rickety in finishing.
those faulty curves on the rroads and rickety finishing on drainages are the exact places potholes start on roads and later destroy the roads eventually...the imsg should be up and doing in monitoring projects it has giving out as contracts.
