2nd Niger bridge election promise in 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015. Am sure even in 1993 it was an election promise. I have said it before unless Anambra state comes up and build that bridge then its a long thing
it has to be a delta and anambra project if it comes to that and not anambra alone

Remarkable:
I am currently listening to Senator Enyinnaya Abariba being interviewed and I am getting so pomped up and happy for Aba, the great city that has been neglected even from the 90s when I recall see on NTA channel 6, how faulks road would be like a river and you see men with rolled up trousers trying to find their way... and now it seems that the city is about to re transformed... T.A. Orji whom everyone loves to hate for ignoring Aba as they say, could easily have zoned it elsewhere, but now he zoned it to Aba south and is supporting a man that knows the city, worked and labored the city and is already mapping out his strategy that so far as we've heard him say, will benefit the masses (instead of only the infrastructure) ... the sky will be the limit for the great city! PDP via Ikpeazu is our man!
funny comment...getting pumped up for nothing...mapping out strategy indeed when common refuse disposal and clean up of aba was rocket science...i wonder what influence and effect abaribe's tenure in the senate so far has had on aba self

Have you heard of Chief Festus Ebo, about the richest man in Nigeria in the 1960s. He established the Central Bank and Stock Exchange after he was appointed finance minister. Brought in Julius Berger, he financed the NCNC and eventually led to him being appointed finance minister.

What is the main reason behind the War? and massacre of Igbos in the North? Why did Awolowo decide to give every Igbo 20£, rather than their real worth?
so Festus okotie eboh was an Igbo man abi?

Bro,
I only respond out of respect for you.As i usually ignore people with the unfortunate mindset issues, who attempt in futility to potray one Igbo state as somehow better or more important than another.
I had erroneously thought that Stella Oduah was edged out by Chris Uba.
In any case, as a cornerstone Igbo state, i believe Anambra should have the best representatives at the Federal level, not men in the caliber of Chris Uba. SE zone, already has the disadvantage of having only 15 Senators while every other region of Nigeria has a minimum of 18 Senators or 21 Senators! I am concerned about the character, political astuteness and integrity of these few 15 Senators not just the one representing my village i come from. It's not merely about competently representing "Anambra" alone, but men who see the bigger picture beyond just filling their personal pocket with money. Igbo issues need men who can reason and easily rally together regardless of party affiliation to ensure the Igbo get their due share in Nigeria.

For instance, although you may not know this, for ages, the talk to build a Lagos- Calabar railway line via Onitsha and Enugu had been discussed at all levels of our national development rolling plan since the administration of Alhaji Shehu Shagari. The East-West railway plan had always been to include a railway line incorporated into the 2nd Niger bridge whenever it would be built. Recently, we have observed with dismay the so called "Coastal railway" from Lagos to Calabar which completely takes a completely different route avoiding Onitsha to Enugu route!
Arguing that the "old route" should be maintained will require all the SE senators working in "agreement " with themselves and other sympathetic zones. Now, that is why I'm concerned about who represent the SE states, not just my own little village.

If Enugu plays "quiet politics" and it brings development, then i'm all for it. Bottomline:"Anambra and Enugu bu ofu ! and Umu-nwanne!"
To act and behave otherwise is truly myopic and unbecoming of anyone who wishes Igboland well.
I think that coastal rail line is actually different from Lagos to east proposed rail line

Alcatraz001:
I am not coveting their properties,I am only trying to acquire through lawful means in the event of a crisis (God forbid though) which will witness a mass exodus of ibos from the South west.

You can't deny the fact that there is a very high level of consciousness amongst the yorubas of the hate the ibos harbour (am tired of repeating this) hence whatever means employed to expel the ibos will be sanctioned by a large number of yorubas since most are shocked by the level of hateful propaganda and denigration of our values and way of life being perpetuated and applauded by the highest organs of the ibo socio-political set up.

I really can't fathom what we have done to deserve these insults from our supposed guests and neighbours for eons after the Civil war.Hate only begets hate and the road being plied by our ibo brothers and sisters both online and offline only leads to destruction and loss of several billions of investments scattered accross Nigeria.

I have on several fora appealed to our ibo brothers to sheathe their sword and embrace love, peace, inclusion, tolerance and respect of other ethnic groups that make up Nigeria but all my/our pleas have fallen on deaf ears and we have taken a back seat to see the result of all the hate being disseminated and propagated by the ibos against the Yorubas especially.it saddens me to see such an hardworking and educated ethnic group towing the path to genocide and banishment from the SW.

I want to categorically state here that this war is one which the ibos can't win because of their nomadic and settlement nature which predisposes them to exposure and vulnerability.Lagos for example is a place you can't conquer in a conflict situation due to its location which is embedded dee inside the SW and close to the atlantic ocean, reinforcements will quickly be called in from Oyo State and Ogun State and the war will be over before it starts. How will other ibos come from the east to rescue the ibos in Lagos? Where will they pass? I am sure yorubas right frm edo will stop troop movements right frm Edo state.

Our ibo brothers will do well to distance themselves from the threat by ND war lords because they will lose more in terms of investments and properties.Let us all insist on a free and fair election next month so as to avoid Post Election Crisis that would likely erupt if the there is any sign of manipulations.

I don tire to talk for this matter.....God Bless Nigeria.
not sure which war you are talking about..the places where flashes of violence are occurring now and potentially likely to occur are the north and niger delta...i dont see igboland in that equation..moreover people issuing threats are northerners and militants

Ibos should be. Veerrry careful, there are millions of bright Yoruba. Youths reading and watching and I am happy am not the only yoruba who has pity for the ibos for what they are about to get themselves into.

I went to church today in southwest political capital and I saw so many nice and innocent ibos and I felt pity for them for they don't knw what is brewing.

Well,my own interest is to prepare myself for the Legal Battles in court and administrative offices of the southwest for the exproprition and acquisition of choice properties abandoned by the ibos. Its better to study and prepare myself so I will knw what arguments to advance in court.

There is nothing like quiet politics. Enugu politics is simply civil and matured.
See how people took bribes and simply used a pen to cancel Stella Oduah's name and wrote Chris Uba Eselu's name on the ballot. While eselu never contested for PDP nomination at all. That is simply barbarism and usually leads to selecting the highest bidder, who may be the worst types of characters to represent the people.Which is exactly what causes lack of development in a place.Although i am a PDP member, I hope APGA defeats PDP in Anambra.

Anyway, let me shut up and watch events unfold.
eselu and Stella oduah are from different senatorial zones

All what i am saying is this, let us all stop making enemies of each other. Its funny how Igbos say that they do not trust northerners, yet they depend on them for the daily food that they eat. We are all one and we need each other to grow.

if we set up land and agric in igboland, would we just sell to ourselves? wouldn't you want an hausa or yoruba man to be consumers of our product? Now tell me, would that be possible if we are making enemies we them as you are doing now?
your point here makes no sense...what difference does it make if the farm is set up in the east and sold to both igbos and non igbos who would come outside igboland to buy?if the farm is set up in igboland which people are you empowering as per workers?is it not your fellow igbos?...or you prefer setting up your farm outside igboland and in the process likely employ the natives there that are likely not igbos just to answer 'detribalized Nigerian '?..how am I making hausas and yorubas my enemies?what are you even saying?..so I if I have my farm in either north or sw it means they would patronize me because I invested in their land not mine?..would it mean if I set up that farm in their land I would no longer be Igbo that should make them not patronize me?what sort of mentality is that?factories that are producing in nnewi, aba and likes is it only Igbo people or se that are the consumers?

Integrating into Nigeria means that we should form a political allegiance with other parts of Nigeria. With that would come economic partnerships and concessions. Who says an igbo man cannot be a major land owner and agric exporter in the North? We might now upturn the oil well distribution, but we can give them a run for their money by manning the development of other sectors of our economy. We can champion the trade on Palm oil and even cassava.
and who says that their are no igbos that are land owners in the north that are not into agric?why even bother much about land outside igboland?why not champion about setting up biz and agric in igboland?

What is our major export commodity? Who owns most of the blocs? Who are our Agricultural stakeholders? Who own the major import channels in Nigeria? Who is the richest man in Nigeria?
so how does Igbo 'intergrating into Nigeria 'make them upturn the oil wells distribution to favour igbos?as for agricultural stakeholders the sw has a say however the se would never be able to compete with north on agric because if availability of land in both zones..i have told you being the richest man from a tribe does nit mean shit to the well being if that tribe if people surrounding you are poor
