Once you get to Seme border, there’re bikes there that will take you through alternative route. You can cross with 4K. I entered Cotonou on the 11th, I got into the UK yesterday.

Does this work the other way around? Coming into Nigeria?

Your date of application is the date you submit your application and pay your visa fee. Payment has to be made within some hours of submission otherwise, the application gets cancelled.

Thank you!

Guys,

For the purpose of UK application, what is the date of application, especially in respect to validity of bank statements. Is it the date of payment for the visa or the date of documentation at TLS?

Its risky sister, very risky. See what happened in South Africa, they are now number 5 in the world with over 500k cases. Their cases took a significant surge after they opened schools and now they are closing schools again. Its not like this thing is only happening in Nigeria, its allover the world. 60% of countries still have schools closed, even the ones that have re opened closed again, e.g China with all their resources to ensure social distancing in schools, yet some schools closed again in June and July doe to surge of new cases, mind u China is almost free of the virus. A lot of countries in Asia who have successfully beaten the virus have opened schools but with strict measures and social distancing. I don't think Nigeria is ready to re open schools fully.

This is a highly ignorant take. Correlation is not causation!

i think the only reason it's reducing is because just a total of 1k was tested. if 3-4k is tested, the figures would still be about what we usually have (between 600 and 700)

While this is true, I disagree.

Limited testing means mostly people displaying symptoms are tested. So in Nigeria's case %tested is just an artifact, not a valid data point.

Hospitalisations with Covid is a better metric.

Hi everyone.

I and my girlfriend are planning to get married in a few weeks. I am hoping to bring her over to the UK on a Tier 2 Dependant Visa. I understand there are requirements to show proof of a genuine relationship. However, we have been dating long distance and I have not been able to see her for a year now.

These are the proposed documents I am providing to prove the relationship is genuine:
1. WhatsApp Chat script from January - September 2019
2. WhatsApp Screenshots, especially on special occasions
3. WhatsApp call logs, showing duration (very long calls)
4. Video call screenshots spanning February to September 2019
5. Transferwise statemtents showing money transferred to her over 9 months
6. Pctures on my next trip to Nigeria with both of us and with family
7. Support letter from my pastor and her friend
8. Photos of the birthdays surprise I planned for her, plus screengrabs of the planning of the surprise with her friends
9. Wedding invite, wedding photos, receipts for wedding supplies, cake, hall payment, e.t.c
10. Letter to the rental agancy to add her to our agreement once she arrives
11. Flight ticket to attend the wedding
12. Flight ticket to visit her in December (I fell ill and missed the flight)
13. Marriage certificate (from magistrate court)
14. Cover letter

I am adding all this documentation because we do not have pictures of ourselves toghether (long story). It has been a long dostance relationship from the start, but we have kept in constant communication.

Do I have averything I need?

A certificate from any of the courts in Nigeria can be used; it doesn't have to be Ikoyi.

Thanks!

Hi everyone.

Quick question.

Can I use a wedding certificate at a magistrate court to process a Tier 2 UK visa? Or is it compulsory to go to Ikoyi registry?

Asaba is fast but you might not have the option of getting the enhanced passport there. I don't think the type of passport matters except you want new technology and 10yrs validity.

Thanks. This was helpful

Hi everyone,

My international passport will be expiring in October this year and I am due to apply for a UK tier 2 visa at the end of this month. This means that my passport would have less than six months validity by the time I apply. Am I likely to be refused a visa because of this.

I have already begun processing a new passport but there are no booklets for now. Please what would you advise?

The problem is that Nigeria is still a young democracy that does not understand the freedom of speech. Come to South Africa and listen to Julius Malema's speeches where he publicly critisises and insult the president and white people. Zuma was insulted many a times by pictorial writing and satiric artists but it understood along the lines of freedom of speech even when the ANC never liked it. In Nigeria such can never be the case despite calling itself democracy.

Although insulting the president of a country is wrong, it is nowhere as terrible as inciting violent secession, which is what Nnamdi Kanu has done. Kanu's misadventure is certainly not covered by free speech. He committed treason and sedition. He might even get the death penalty.

As a matter of fact after reading the submission by kayfra I fear for Kanu. He is dead meat and I'm sure that his lawyers realize this too. Their game plan was probably for him to skip bail and flee the country. Now with the fresh charges against him (which are not bailable, I think) he is unlikely to get respite from the court.

If I were him I would learn the 5 stanzas of the old and new national anthems to convince the DSS of my dedication to 1 Nigeria, in order to secure my release.

Agitating for self determination can never be tantamount to devide the unity of the state.

Of course it isn't.

However, Kanu not only threatened the unity of Nigeria, he also incited his listeners to attack northerners, pastors, politicians and public dignitaries who did not support his cause. He told them to attack security forces, to start a war if he was ever arrested by the Nigerian State. Nnamdi Kanu was foolish enough to be caught on video soliciting for arms to fight the country. There was even a youtube video that circulated early this year where he openly asked for money to buy arms.

Face the facts: Kayfra is spot on. Unless a political solution is sought by well-meaning Igbo Elders, Kanu will spend the rest of his life in jail.

I was recently employed in a farm as an assistant manager. I studied animal production and health. The manager studied political science. Since the resumption at the farm, I direct all activities ranging from feed formulation in the feedmill, animal treatments and handling, biosecurity measure, arable farming etc. The management hold meetings with me alone concerning farm reports, feed managements, sales and anything that concerns the farm's progress. They specifically hired me 'cause animal farming is my field. Note that I'm an expert in animal production and health, agronomy, and agricultural economics. So, I see myself as the manager, cause the only thing the manager does is withdrawing money in the banks to procure farm inputs as a result of decisions reached by me and the management. The manager is using official car, but I'm using nothing. I have no problem with him using the car, but I see it as an insult on my person. Should I protest?

This is exactly what brought down Satan. Pride goes before a fall.

A few questions:
1. How long had you been seeing each other?

2. How serious was the relationship? Was it well defined with marriage in mind?

3.Have you met her family? How close are you to them?
