Hello House. Please I applied for a Canadian visit Visa for the 21st January to 31st January 2024. I made a hotel reservation via booking.com and they deducted deposit. I just received a mail from booking.com yesterday that my hotel reservation is cancelled. The hotel just cancelled the reservation without notice. I am worried that the embassy might contact the hotel, and they are told I don't have any reservation. Please Advice me, should i make another reservation with another hotel, or what? Is there a way to update details of application to make them know i have changed location? I did biometric on the 13th of november, and i just read that it takes about 3 months to get response. and by then my travel date might have passed. If my travel date passes and i have not gotten response, will the visa be denied ? Please advice. Please do not quote me, as there is bug here that hides responses to my comment. Please respond without quoting... 1 Like |

Can someone respond to this my post without quoting me? i noticed the site blocks replies which quote me. I want to know if i should proceed to apply for 5 years or go for 2 years from 6 months. |

Good day people, I have been to UK only once last year on 6 months visa, and i plan to apply for 5 years under same circumstance. A friend of mine who also visited once last year, applied for 10 years straight and was granted. I read somewhere here that someone applied for 10 years and was given 6 months. I am afraid that i could apply for 5 years with this current exchange rate and be given less than that. Any ideas ? |

Hello Guys, i Have a question. Please dont quote me, else the site will ban you. You can just type my moniker in your reply. I visited the UK for 20 days and i am back to Nigeria. I still have about 3 months valid visa left. I want to apply for a visit around august, but i want to do it early enough. Can i apply now against august with the valid 3 months visa i have, or should i wait till it expires? Also, Some people are saying i have to apply for another 6 months, before i can apply for 2 years. Can i apply for 2 years Visa straight after the first 6 months, or must i apply for another 6 months? Waiting for response. Thanks |

Pekela: NOTE: DO NOT QUOTE ME, THE SITE WILL BAN YOU. One of the mistakes we self employed applicants make, is to quote high earnings. This is a big trap, because you will have to defend it. This is why its easier for those working for companies to get visa than self employed. The moment you present yourself as a self employed person, the attention of the ECO moves from your personal account to your business account. Their aim is to find out if that your business makes enough money to pay the salary you claim to earn. So for someone that earns N5,000,000 annually, it will be expected that your company account will show a turnover of over at least N30,000,000. Now that you have said your earn N5,000,000, These are the 2 things you must do to get the visa. 1) Audit your business account to show expenses and profit. Present both audit report and bank statement of your company. 2) You will have to pay a progressive tax for 3 years to match your annual income. When you have done this, you will now be issued tax clearance certificate. When your present the 2 and they are convinced that your business generates enough money, you will have your visa. Failure to do this, will result in another refusal. But if you do as i have said, you are sure of getting it the next time. Talking from experience. 4 Likes |

Adebayo347: It is more difficult to get UK visa as a self employed person than someone employed. The truth is that there is nothing to challenge here. You made your case worse by reapplying and increasing that figure. Before you will be given UK visa, you will have to spend nothing less than 4,000,000 based on the profile you have created for yourself. This what you must do if you still want the visa. An auditor will audit your business account for 3 years and deduct expenses until the amount u stated as yearly income is arrived at as profit. Assuming 50 million came into your account in 1 year, 41,000,000 will be expenses and 9,000,000 your profit for the year. you will pay tax of about 800,000 on that 9,000,000 x 3 years =2,400,000. Then you are given tax clearance. Note you will have to provide your bank statements for those years to the auditor, depending on how long your business have been. You will submit the audit report for 3 years, and tax clearance showing you paid tax on the said amount for 3 years. Thats the only grounds your visa will be given. You can try to apply with only the audit report without tax. Then if they refuse and request for tax, Then you go and pay that tax and apply again. As a self employed person, you have to provide more evidence and documentation than any other applicant. ensure that you do not provide any fake audit report as this should appear in your bank statement. Anything fake will result in automatic ban. For self employed people, be careful of how much u claim you earn, as you might have to back it up with tax and audit report. FINALLY, DONT QUOTE ME, AS THE SYSTEM WILL BAN YOU. 2 Likes |

Zarahmum: I am not an expert, neither am i in a position to advice you, But I will share my experience with you. I had a similar experience as you, the only difference is that in my own case, the only reason that was given is that my business was not found on the CAC website. In visit VISA applications most times, you don't have the right to appeal, the only option is to go for judicial review, which involves the court. But before then, you can write a preaction protocol letter to the home office. I wrote a pre-action protocol letter to the home office, narrating the decision and pointing out the error of the clearance officer with screenshot evidence that my business is active on CAC. By default, they will have to respond in 14 days. 13 days after i wrote, they responded and requested for another 14 days for a substantial response . The second 14 days came and they responded, stating that " The secretary of State has reviewed the decision and will now proceed to reconsider the decision based on the information i have provided. They said the believe the solution they have provided is good enough, but if i still want to proceed with judicial review, i am free to do so. They stated that i will be contacted within 3 months of receiving the letter, it is almost 2 months now and I am still waiting. So you might want to reapply and point all these out through a cover letter, provide more evidence of business transactions, audit, tax etc. Or you follow the preaction protocol method. Note: if your husband is funding the trip, he should state exactly how much he is making available, present his own bank statement, tax etc. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hello house, i posted some weeks ago about how my visit Visa was refused, because the ECO said they searched for my business on CAC but no record was found. The ECO made a mistake in the name and category of business. I wrote several complaint mails without response. Then I began the process of going for judicial review, by sending a PAP. The responded and asked to be given another 2 weeks to respond. After the 2 weeks they responded that the secretary of state has reviewed the decision and will proceed to reconsider it, based on the information i provided . Also that i will be contacted within 3 months of receiving the letter. But i can still proceed with the judicial review if i want, but they believe that the solution they have provided is good enough. Now the time frame for Judicial review is 3 months from refusal date, which will elapse at the end of march. Should i go ahead with the judicial review process or wait to be contacted within the 3 months as they requested ? Has anyone gone through this route before ? |

Please house, has anyone ever gotten the British Embassy to reverse reverse a decision by writing letters? I don't know if I should write a pre action protocol letter for my case, and threaten legal action or reapply. They cant make such a mistake and have Nigerians pay for their own mistakes. |

Hi all. This is an automated email i got after sending the mail to complaint at ukgov email. There is a part that says, the outcome of a visa decision, will not be treated as a complaint. Does it mean the complaint email does not deal with visa decisions? Should i get a lawyer to write to them? If a lawyer should write to them, where should it be addressed to ? Thanks Thank you for your email. This is an automatically generated response which contains important information; please read it carefully. COMPLAINTS This email inbox is for complaints only. Good Morning all Please is it advisable to get a lawyer to write to the embassy here and request for a review. In my case, there is a clear error, but i have been denied right to appeal. I have applied twice and don't want to go through that process again. Will getting a lawyer to write them help? Has anyone done it before? Whats the process ? |

luiginho2xl: I am sorry to hear that u were banned. I guess it was because of that email about comp-laint. Sent email to public enquiry, filled complaint form, also sent mail to complaint. Got one emails saying they don't assess application and if the letter says i have no right to appeal, i should consider reapplying. Please what suggestion do you have ? The process of applying is too stressful. Not only the time but money involved. This matter is a simple one and if there was a way to get them to review, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

That I should refer to the letter given to know if i have right to appeal, else I should reapply. Why will I apply 3 times for a mistake on their part? Still thinking of what next to do. |

Hellooooo. Am i invisible on this platform ? Can anyone read my message ? My Visa application was refused, because the decision maker claims that there was no result for my business when CAC website was searched. But they searched for EXAMPLE ABC instead of ABC enterprise. This business registration documents has the name clearly written on it. So why will my application be refused for a mistake made by the officer? Denying me right of appeal and when the officer makes a mistake is very humiliating . I am not asking for them to give me visa, but let the decision maker do the right thing. If the officer is convinced that the business does not exist, then he or she should have declared all the information i provided as fake. And then ban me for 10 years. There is no way i will provide bank statements, business registration, tax, invoices for a non-existing business. Can the knowledgeable people on this forum intervene ? I hope my posts are visible.

Hello house. I came across this site in search of information. I got a refusal letter from the UK embassy in Nigeria. The reason they gave was that the search they did on my business name returned no result. They made a mistake in the name. The searched for EG ABC instead of ABC enterprise. I wrote a cover letter with a letter headed paper, bearing company name. I even included business registration documents. Yet they made a mistake in the name. The name shows active on the CAC website. I applied before and was refused, stating that i did not include a document in my application. I reapplied again and included it and they made a mistake. I dont want to spend money or go through the application process again. And it says i have no right to appeal. Please can someone tell me what steps to take. Please its urgent.
