This mentality is mostly common among Nigerian guys and honesty it's disgusting mentality to me...

I was watching a prank video on YouTube where a guy pretended to be an ice cream selling and tried to asked some girls out to see if anyone would give him a chance. Only about 2 girls out if like 12 he approached gave him their number. What I noticed in the comments section were comments of guys saying the two girls who gave him their number were real women and that the others were fake. I've seen a lot of guys even on nairaland here with such stuupidd mentality. Ask yourself this question, if you were an ice cream seller or a broke or poor man, Shey you go date yourself if you be woman ni?

If I find myself in such situations as a guy man, going into a relationship would not even cross my mind, not to talk of being the last thing on my mind. My biggest priority would be to hussle. Hussle and more hussle till I make enough to get myself a better life...

Abeg make una stop dey castigate women for wanting the best, it's human to want the best things and it's logical.

I suppose this Op-ed isn't just about the single skit you watched of an ice-cream man. That's comedy. So exaggeration was infused for comedic effect.

However, the title of your thread is a different story altogether.

(Not all but a lot of) Many women have a distorted sense of what the average income is around their environment — and this affects their idea of what earning is reasonably acceptable for their would-be partners.

Many typically (not always) quote very high figures .
Now this isn't bad at all. Wishes/expectations are valid, right?
The challenge is, in most societies, only a 2%—5% of men earn that high and so effectively it appears as though all women are 'gunning' for the few 'rich' men who, because they know they are the prized ones, often know that their money was a big factor in 'fetching' their spouse.

Of course this could be minimized if these women become more clued on real world earning statistics.

This is going to be an honest review for those who are coming or intend coming to the Uk.

I have watched with keen interest how most People on this platform as resorted to abuse/insult on the few people who are trying to enlighten us about the challenges that are faced in the Uk.

There are two major things that takes away your money here in the UK

Number 1: Tax

The Uk economy cannot be compared with that of Nigeria and over here everything is tax compared to Nigeria where you can do away with that.

This country is built on tax and the social amenities everyone is enjoying from good road, electricity are as a result of the revenue from tax

Every employer deducts tax from your wages and there is no way you can avoid it.

Number 2: Accommodation

Accommodation as become a major challenge which as made a lot of people homeless due to lack of funds to secure accommodation or unavailability of accommodation within your budget.

How many employers don't deduct tax from employees in Nigeria? I'm talking registered entities.

UK accomodation is expectedly high.
But does the Minimum wage ratio to Accomodation cost for a self-contained apartment compare to an average Lagos location?

I'm yet to see strong points here.

Traditional Monarchy [done right] is a veritable authority for Arbitration in times of disagreement/Conflicts due to expected apolitical stance.

It is you who should find out what Inductive reasoning means.

There's no time enough in the would to measure all humans in a specific society — even 10%— before reaching reasonable conclusions.about the tendencies of such societies.

We don't live in a prehistoric isolated world.
While we obviously can't change their minds, speaking out let's them know that their actions are observed.
Indians have a reputation for a caste system against their own people so what I said has merits.
