Until you learn how political influence is used to decide who gets the licence, you will not understand my comment.
You're using the word monopolize wrongly.

As we speak, Nigeria doesn't have 5% of its needed energy generation. Any capable investor would make a kill. That's why geregu is on fire on the NGX. So to speak of 'monopolize' suggests we aren't talking about the same sector.

Four power plants for charity or for business?

Simply say that your family is among those monopolizing the resources of Nigeria. Otherwise, why should one family have up to 4 power plants for business in one country?
You can have a powerplant too yourself.

Just need a license from NERC & a plan for 1MW at least.

AndroidAI:
You don't assume that everyone is reading your mind to know that you are referring to a specific set of people.

'Most Nigerians' and 'Nigerians' aren't the same. The meaning has changed immediately, just as 'its' and 'it's' are two different words.

When you are referring to people, you have to be specific or you end up misinforming your audience.

Something as simple as an apostrophe can alter the meaning of a sentence, not to talk of missing a word such as 'many' 'few' 'most' 'a lot of'.

I easily get irritated when someone is obviously wrong and yet keep dragging. Swallow your ego. Being wrong is not bad, it is an opportunity to learn.

I'm not dragging with you again. Peace!!
Lol.

Pedantry is your bane here.

Don't worry, you'll learn soon.
RomanceRe: My Message To Men by Asour: 7:47pm On Jul 08, 2023
AndroidAI:
When you say Nigerians, you are referring to ALL. To avoid the fallacy of generalisation, you must include "most' 'majority' 'some' 'many' or 'few', or it becomes a generalisation. Please go and read about fallacies and stop arguing blindly.
Of course you're right. I never said you're wrong.
But you're being unduly pedantic.

In most literally conversations, using many, all or most every time can be unnecessary .

That's why (assuming an enlightened audience) all doesn't always have to be stated if it's not meant.

Do you mean that the OP or anyone on this thread doesn't know that there's rich/privileged Nigerians ?
RomanceRe: My Message To Men by Asour: 7:36pm On Jul 08, 2023
AndroidAI:
Lol. He didn't say 'most men' or 'majority of men', he said 'men'. Which includes ALL men in a box. That's what makes that statement a generalisation. I don't need to teach you the fallacy of generalisation, or do I?
When people say Nigerians lack integrity.

They don't mean all. They mean most.
It's implicit!

People who ALWAYS see ALL or NOTHING categories in statements when it wasn't categorically stated lack nuance.
RomanceRe: My Message To Men by Asour: 7:09pm On Jul 08, 2023
AndroidAI:
The title said: Message to men. This is a generalization.
No.

There was no ALL in it.

A message to all men is a generalization.
RomanceRe: My Message To Men by Asour: 6:23pm On Jul 08, 2023
AndroidAI:
Chai.

Go and blame your parents for bringing you into poverty by failing to provide basic needs, not to talk of a legacy.

So all you have known is suffering, and you think more suffering is what makes you a man.

Stop generalising. There are a lot of men who will never suffer, because they were privileged to be born in a great home.

Secondly, being a woman doesn't eliminate suffering. A lot of women are suffering too. It's not a gender thing. It's the sad reality of life.

For those who still suffer because their parents are nobodies, my sympathy is with you all.
The OP didn't generalize!

Not ALL men was said. Meaning not ALL men was meant!

Again, the vast Majority of families in Nigeria are barely comfortable. Consequently, the vast majority of men can be thought to be from unprivileged backgrounds.

The privileged class you speak of are FAR from the norm!

Consequently, his appeal is relevant for many a man out there in Nigeria!

Cheers.

You'll start from somewhere. Brilliant people who don't know how to sell or market don't even know their worth. It's all about visibility and management. When you lack the aforementioned skills you need to hire and manage people who can do that for you else you'll be fvccked.
Visibility to do what?
Visibility to sell what? A human?

I'm sure visibility to sell a PRODUCT or SERVICE that is deemed reliable!

And reliable products/service come from brilliant & creative people not necessarily brand/marketers.

You sound like one can't be good at both.

A fake news merchant that got locked up for framing and defaming his fellow Igbo man; released after apologizing, went shopping for the prisoners he left behind, only to get re-arrested & returned to join his fellow detainees after being misled by the headless mob to delete the apology and continue his fake news peddling.

Sir Emeka is showing Chude the difference between Ogogoro and Limca on his way to final conviction, while mob dey house.
I agree that chude and other political commentators peddle unconfirmed information at times.

But what I don't like is the biased & malicious punishment metted out by the government on all who do this.

Recall that FFK in early Feb 2023 claimed that a Presidential candidate was in cahoots with military officers to take over power.

Little was done to him. He's since made many other unfounded claims.

Chude (who can also be flimsy) made a claim which hasn't even been verified — something has to be verified before it can be deemed false — and they've wielded the hammer on him.

MGHU.

Same here.

I have travelled out of this country for official purposes but the thought of remaining outside Nigeria never occurred to me. And don't think I'm talking about African countries o, I mean Europe and Asia.

I'm used to Nigeria o, things outside Nigeria aren't just okay for me. Religion, food, traditions and the "Everyone for himself" things in Europe don't just appeal to me.

Money? I swear I can't abandon my relations in Nigeria just to go search for money. What exactly will the money be used for at the end of the day? Besides, death can come anytime, even while searching for the money.

Good living? What does that even mean? Ogbeni, you have to pay for all those good facilities directly or indirectly, nothing is free. So I take life easy, infact, very easy.

I'm just okay with my little earning here in Nigeria. At least, I pay my bills comfortably. Life is too short.
Everyone are not for themselves in Naija?

Lol.

We have a communal lifestyle which is good. But so do the Europeans. You don't know because you weren't close to many.

What expands the scope of our communality is LACK!

When more Nigerians become well off, the communality would really reduce. Our communality is often an economic safety net. And I don't mean that in a bad way. I'm a beneficiary of this.

Commendable result. It took commitment and dedication to achieve this feat. I myself was also a good student during my study years. But I must tell you the truth, the men you mentioned did not become successful because of their talents or grades but because of how they branded themselves.

Visibility and promotion is key. Learn how to sell and market something of value to start taking money from the society , else your education might just be summarised only in that piece of certification and the oath and vow of poverty might be your consolation anthem.

School programs you to become an employee as it certifies your intelligence in the area of performance but doesn't prepare you for reality. only intelligent people are employed to work. The average smart individual learns how to market his brand, sell his idea and employ intelligent people to work in the rat race.

I'm not negating the place value of education in the society but there's a high chance extrapolating from your written piece that you are very much a good candidate for an employer to exploit, if you believe the delusion that school will give you the required success you desire.

Even your average university lecturer is fake as he is not a true professional In his field, not talk more of being successful in life without financial literacy, good business acumen and marketing prowess. The men you listed have the aforementioned skills and they weren't taught in school.

Anyone can become anything, just go to school and become. But if your lecturer is fake, then you will be fake.
If you must become, truly, you must learn from someone who is currently thriving in that field.

But If I would commend anyone to go to school, it's to learn how to be financially literate, a good sales man or marketer. Money rules the world and you need to learn how to win . That is how you win, also not negating the importance of spiritual, emotional and physical balance and enlightenment.
A sales & Marketer?

To market what? What others who are brilliant have produced?

Lol.
