A very dead brand from the onset.
Femi, has some old accumulations from Nigeria's crude reserves but he is not so much a wise investor.
He was a FBN, and he left. . Where is his outlay in Forte/AP?
He got his significant wealth from the oil block that FG allocated to him. . Not that he was so inventive or creative. When did a governor of a state (Lagos state) start awarding oil licenses — especially not even in Lagos. Sef! Na wao! |

15thAccount: Small thing una don recommend coding, 😂, you even drop video join. With the way the industry is looking with layoffs and startups shutting down, it’s not looking so enticing to beginners as it did in 2015-2019.
It’s still very profitable, but it’s difficult and the hype has dropped lately.
Coding is blood money, but na your blood you go use lol.
When I started I wanted to build an app that’ll change the world and become zuckerberg, right now, I just want to find $10m on the road and retire. Setup a huge farm and rear goats and cows and travel the world with an average-beautiful looking huge booty small waist babe.
Amin Wrong motivation is hard to sustain long-term. Secondly 'coding' is a broad umbrella. Data Engineering, MLOps, Applied Statisticians, BI analysts,Data scientists, Geoinformaticians & Bioinformaticiams all code in various domains! Even recently, Information systems architect, Robot Processing Automation architects & Database Administrators are huge. And I've said nothing about APPLICATION development or Web3 (which I know little about). So it's a big world. |

Shokoloko: Marriages survived by putting into practice the principles of his book. No one can claim to have invented the love languages. It was never his idea - he only put ancient knowledge into writing. People have practiced this since marriage was invented. So why limit/codify them to just 5 things. Why not we just call it what it is: sacrifice, Respect, compromise etc. Why creating a buzz word for it ? |

But that wasn't what you quoted? And even this says nothing about the 'appropriate' age for marriage in. The bible? So I ask ; what's the biblical appropriate age for marriage since it not in the bible? Oh! We may have to rely on our understanding here. |
Family › Re: Frustrated With My Wife by Asour: 9:12pm On Apr 10, 2023 |
Shokoloko: My dear, I have had experience for many, many years. I counsel couples. It does not matter who invented it ow whether it is a gimmick. The question is "when put into practice, does it work?" If it does, case closed. I have seen more marriages restored with understanding and applying love languages than I have seen with people trying to force their partners into a mould that they want. Nairaland people just want to destroy this marriage - these issues can be taken care of, yet they are all over this thread suggesting bad things You're seeing survivorship bias. If a spouse requires a particular thing done a particular way that's fine. Adjustments/compromise is the SOLUTION there NOT some phantom love language codified by Gary chapman in 1992 to sell a self help book. How did marriages succeed before his book in 1992? Respect, Compromise & sacrifice has been what holds relationships of all types: Work, family, Business, spiritual etc. Not some touchy-feely feel good |
Family › Re: Frustrated With My Wife by Asour: 8:34pm On Apr 10, 2023 |
Shokoloko: I sense resentment from your spouse. I don't think you are right to equate remote work with zero work. Remote work is mentally tasking. Just so you know, when women are overwhelmed their libido DIES. I am not at all excusing her - she needs to communicate. Both of you need professional marriage counseling (not church marriage counseling). Whichever one of you is not ready for counseling has checked out already and maybe should be left alone. I see some people asking you to pretend to have someone else or actually have a side piece. Before you do that, make sure your spouse is not waiting for you to do that so they can use that as a legit reason for divorce. Gift giving will not help matters - your wife's love language is not gifting. It's acts of service and affirmations. Who invented this love language gimmick? This false dichotomy that one's love language is one thing to the exclusion of other things is a 21st century marketing strategy to sell books & Seminar. Love is sacrifice. Anything more is supplementary. MGHU. |

pressplay411: When you place your life in your own hands, that's when this seems to make sense.
But when you place your life in God's hands, marriage can happen at any good stage and age. Mary, the mother of Jesus got married as a teenager. Some of our parents married at Uni self. Some of my friends started relationship during NYSC and got married.
No one shoe fits all.
Prov.14.12 - There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14 isn't referring to life choices that are not sinful. For instance, choosing a red shirt Vs a blue one. Choosing an SUV Vs a sedan. Proverbs 14 is referring to a way of sin that seems right to us. but destructive. NOT the choice of marital age — which is NEVER wrong. That's to the discretion of each individual. Paul (Apostle) for instance wasn't married. You'll say it was his devotion to God BUT realize that he was already a GROWN UNMARRIED adult before his conversion. |

Magnoliaa: I mean, right?
It's crazy how everyone literally judges others based on financial status. And it's more annoying how the economy has exacerbated it.
Food and money is the start and end of our problems in this country lol.
What will make a promising young man "undateable", but won't make a woman so?
I be student myself, and I'd hate for my whole existence to be reduced to that. Literally a phase of my life. That everyone has gone through. And it pisses me off when I see stooped men (and women) doing so. That's exactly just how people in their service year too are.
Times have change. Sticking to the rigid gender dictates of man must bring money, woman must bring body (or other stuff) is just a recipe for disaster, as far as I'm concerned.
And I say this because some might disagree and say that I'm trying to say money (stability) isn't important for a man to have, when I will be expected to offer domestic services, or that a woman should become masculine and be bringing money, when things easily could have been solved if the two partners are committed to helping each other financially, domestically and in other ways.
If you want to demand that the opposite gender has something they were expected to have, then you must be the complete opposite requirements that your gender is supposed to have as well. No ifs, no but. Welcome to Nigeria! |

WriterNig: He has a point. If you're ever declared wanted by the 🇺🇸 U.S government, the safest place to be is in 🇷🇺 Russia.
You can NEVER be touched. Take Edward Snowden for example. Snowden knowingly breached a non disclosure contract in which he wouldn't have access to the info he had had he not signed one. He knows he won't even be killed in the US. For someone who believes in what he did (and I don't think all his reasons are bad) a few years jail time shouldn't scare him. Many Americans (even military veterans) have done time for similar contraventions. For trump, he knows he's safer in the US. Funny enough even opposition politicians don't run away from US. Never. They're always safe (if they committed no crimes). This can't be said for Russia or China. There mere opposition= elimination scare. |

However, you need to learn that Soyinka has done more for democracy than Peter Obi.
When he was about your age, he was incarcerated by a military regime for almost two years. Just before the restoration of our presidential democracy, another military regime wanted him "dead or alive" during his necessary exile from Nigeria.
The venerable statesman has contributed more to Nigerian progress than most of you would ever do- in words and in deeds ; in theory and in practice.
As the heyday of Obidiotism is gradually coming to an end, I am proud that my convictions about the totalitarian movement were genuine and have been proven even to the least objective Nigerian.
One of my fears was the institutionalization of cancel culture. Another one was the giving of villain tags to Nigerian heroes who are not of the Igbo extraction.
