Since I have been reading posts on this section I haven't really seen anything relating to any date by two members. I had to wonder if actually there has been any thing like two people who met on nairaland and probably got married instead of the regular bashing of men and women I see.

Have you had a date with a nairaland member before and what was your experience, be it good or bad.

I think it will be nice if we can share these experiences. Please no insults or bashing one another. We can make this thread matured and simple.

This is quite a complicated issue. This young man has a nice paying job in Nigeria and is living just fine and he got married to a lady he knew back then in his old neighborhood.
This lady is from an average background and her family seemed nice but things have recently taken a different twist. The lady has never had the opportunity to travel abroad all her life so about a year after their marriage, she said she wanted to start a boutique business and she will love to get nice stock from Dubai. Being that the guy loves her a lot and wanted the best for her, he decided to give her an opportunity of going to Dubai herself to at least have an experience outside the country and also buy stock she will use to start her business.

To cut the story short, this lady left to Dubai two years ago and has refuse to come back. She has been giving her reasons as she can't stay in Nigeria again and except the husband can relocate to Dubai she is not coming back to Nigeria anytime soon. The guy and his family has met with the ladies family and want them to return the bride price so that it will be clear that the marriage is over but they have refused and still insist that the lady is still married to the guy and all the guy needs to do is move to Dubai which is a better place for both of them to be happy (according to her parents).

Now the guy is angry and has made up his mind to move on and remarry because he cannot leave his good paying job in Nigeria to go and start suffering for no reason in Dubai.

If he goes on to remarry in this sort of situation, can it be possible that the first marriage can become an issue later or is there a possible way to dissolve such marriage even without the presence of the lady?

Worst of all is that she was pregnant before she left and now has a child for him in Dubai which he has not seen physically.
