pk2000000:
i would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this, im really grateful, i so much value your comment and all necessary lessons learnt

as quoted by mr gbenga about the replanted cassave, i have resolved to visit the farm next week. i will all need your prayers for safe trip
i will sure come with feedbacks

thanks once again
I wish you success in trying to get your money from Gbenga.

I gave over 2 million naira to Gbenga in 2014 for 50 acres of cassava farm at Ogbomosho.
Up to today, I did not get back even 1 naira from Gbenga.

His story close to Harvest time was that fire burnt the farm and that cows destroyed the farm.

Same story he is telling the OP now.
PoliticsRe: "Ikoyi Whistle-blower Is Mad" - EFCC Says, Takes Him To Psychiatric Hospital by Atlanticfire: 2:34pm On Nov 12, 2017
The guy did not understand that whistle blowing policy is for recovery of money looted by opposition party members, he went to blow whistle on money looted by APC members and he is waiting for compensation.

If he is not careful, they will simply kill him for exposing APC loot.

But I now understand that only a combination of options will be effective around the south here.
I think it might be better to grow rice in the rain forest zone instead of the savanna and derived savanna belt.

This will reduce the worry of the birds as the birds are more endemic in the savanna grassland. Also herdsmen wahala is also less in the rain forest zone.

I can give you up to 20 acres of land free for rice farming in delta state rainforest region.

BusinessRe: FG Takes Ownership Of Funds In Bank Accounts Not Linked To BVNs by Atlanticfire: 8:49am On Oct 22, 2017
Amaaf:
You don't remember the account number again? Even if you are given chance to claim your money, how do you convince Zenith Bank that the money is yours?
With ones passport as an ID he can prove that he is the owner of the account.

So remembering the account number is not the only criteria of proving ownership of an account
BusinessRe: FG Takes Ownership Of Funds In Bank Accounts Not Linked To BVNs by Atlanticfire: 7:53am On Oct 22, 2017
I have been outside Nigeria for over 5 yrs. I had some money in zenith bank before I left.

The account has not been linked to any bvn because I don't even remember the account number.

I have never held any public office.

So going by the reasoning of the government and the reasoning of some people here, the money in my account must be stolen money that should be forfeited to the government just because the account does not have bvn.

This is a case of guilty until proven innocent.
Why does a government think that robbing it's citizens is a good policy

you don't have to register......just type a request letter and take it to the camp secretariat when orientation begins, this way, it would be much easier.
Thanks for this
NYSCHow To Get A Youth Corper by Atlanticfire(op): 5:27pm On Oct 17, 2017
What is the process for requesting for a Youth corper to be posted to your company?

Does the company have to be registered at the State NYSC headquarters or is the application done at the orientation camp
AgricultureRe: Is Ugu Farming This Useless? by Atlanticfire: 4:45pm On Oct 17, 2017
Next time try not to spend more than 10k on a plot of ugu.

You did father Christmas to all the people involved in the setting up of the farm.

AgricultureRe: Rice Farming: My Sweet-bitter Experience. Looking forward & Re-strategizing!! by Atlanticfire: 2:07pm On Oct 16, 2017
This your maths is looking somehow.

you said 700 Naira per kg of rice, That will make 50Kg of rice to be 35,000 naira.
Is rice that expensive or am I missing something?

Anyway, One thing I have learnt in Agriculture is that you should not depend on nature if you want to be a successful farmer.
Plan for irrigation, plan for disease management and plan for Pest management and remember to classify Fulani herdsmen as pests and plan for them.

Just 3 strands of barbed wire perimeter fence would have gone a long way in keeping the herdsmen away from your farm.

Anyway you have learnt some lessons, but you would have saved yourself some heartache if you have decided to understudy some folks already involved in rice farming. At least you will know that birds attack rice when the seed is still fluid.

It is nice to see educated folks like you going into farming. Kudos

On rice farming, I am still a theoritical farmer, so it is quite easy for me to advice grin

Next year I hope to plant 2 hectares of rice at the beggining of the raining season.

Maybe I will learn from your mistakes and plan to avoid them

Doesn't sound humorous to me. It is a clear portrayal of the series of austere conditions Nigerians are daily subjected to in the forms of hunger, deprivation and unprecedented poverty, since Buhari ascended the throne.
Just wait until 2019, you will see thesame people line up to vote for Buhari, just because he is from thesame tribe or religion with them.

I WANTED TO START SHIPPING HIGH GRADE OKRIKA FROM UK TO NIGERIA....
I WANTED TO KNOW IF ITS BANNED. IF NOT, I NEED A GENUINE BUYER...

Importation of used clothing into Nigeria is absolutely prohibited.
Check the import prohition list below.

https://www.customs.gov.ng/ProhibitionList/import_2.php

However, if your father is a "big" man you can import anything into Nigeria and get away with it.

My advice? import things that are not prohibited for your own peace of mind, before customs turn you into ATM.

How much per ton
30,000 Naira per ton looks ok.

You can process the cassava to garri at the farm if you wish.

We have complete cassava processing equipment in the farm,e.g. grinder, dewatering press, manual fryer, bore hole for water e.t.c
If you don't mind sleeping with the workers, you can share accommodation at the farm also or come with a camping tent.

We are selling the cassava for faster turnover and to be able to use the land for the coming dry season farming

If you have a cassava chipping machine, we can mount it in the farm to turn the cassava into cassava chips
