Politics › Re: Why Today - And President Buhari - Made Me Cry - Chude Jideonwo / REDmedia by Atlanticfire: 6:02pm On Sep 16, 2017 |
three: All through the time my co-founder, Adebola Williams worked hard with the team of Uche Nnaji (OUCH) and Kelechi Amadi-Obi to shoot the photographs that redefined Buhari’s image, all through the period the team was assembled from Tobi to Alex Yangs to Kathleen Ndongmo, I couldn’t move.
We have cried for this nation, because it has failed us too many times. We have worked our fingers to the bones, and our ‘bloods’ have boiled because we believe in its potential. Therefore, our tempers will be short, our forgiveness will be costly, our reactions to real and perceived failures will be swift.
Our hearts our broken, our spirits burdened. We desperately need the promised change, and we need it to start immediately.
Nigeria has suffered enough.
*Jideonwo is managing partner of Red Media Africa, ‘the media group to reach and inspire the largest number of African youth at any time’. One of its companies, StateCraft Inc, was official communication agency to the Buhari Presidential Campaign
http://saharareporters.com/2015/05/30/why-today-%E2%80%93-and-president-buhari-%E2%80%93-made-me-cry-chude-jideonwo You people took a highly tribalistic person, wore him Ibo and Yoruba attires, took pictures of him in Ibo and Yoruba attires and sold him to Nigerians as a detribalised Nigerian saviour. You have a long cry session ahead of you. You started the deceit, live with the consequences |
Agriculture › Re: No Kill My Love For Agriculture by Atlanticfire: 5:30pm On Sep 07, 2017 |
shyenar999: As a Nigerian youth we have always been told to embrace agriculture, that we should appreciate the usefulness of our endowed land which is full of milk and honey by going into farming I have seen many youths try laying their hands on some part of agriculture but some adverts I see on nairaland at times don't seems to encourage (from my view) Now my questions are these What could be the main/major reason why people sell their poultry pen regardless of how small or large it is? Why do people sell their farm land even when they say farming is profitable either you r directly or indirectly practicingit?t
Please help answer those questions concisely just not to discourage but encourage the young agroprenuers. Farming is like any other business. It has potential but also have risks, super risks. Many startups fail, not only farming business. Without adequate planning and without good external support the failure is more rapid hence you see many farmers bailing out after a short stint at farming. The long gestation period between investment and getting returns in farming also does not help matters. What percentage of nigerians can wait for months to get the first proceeds from thir farms and if there is failure along the way, what percentage of Nigerians can mobilise enough fund to continue the farming business? Few. This makes a lot of people to give up after suffering a few hiccups in their farming venture. |

Those who are shortchanged by the lopsided appointments should go to court and stop the appointees from assuming office until the error is corrected.

Politics › Re: Ben Murray Bruce In Trouble On Twitter by Atlanticfire: 5:07pm On Jul 10, 2017 |
Ben is a senator representing his senatorial district in the national assembly. His primary responsibility is to represent his senatorial district. So he can choose to represent his senatorial district and tell people outside of his senatorial district to channel their worries to their own senators.
Buhari on the other hand is a president of the country, so he can not say he will not represent some people because they diod not vote for him.
So nothing wrong in what Ben Bruce said. |

Agriculture › Re: Pls, Can I Cover A Greenhouse With Ordinary Thick Polythene by Atlanticfire: 2:14pm On Jul 09, 2017 |
menwongo: Well I got your point bro. I later find out what we are using in NIFOR is not greenhouse but advance nursery.
For him to say op can use normal plastic for roofing shows he is olodo too! You need to learn the difference between green house and nursing before coming online to blab about green house. And what is advanced nursery? ? Are you naming a nethouse advanced nursery? |
Agriculture › Re: Pls, Can I Cover A Greenhouse With Ordinary Thick Polythene by Atlanticfire: 2:27pm On Jul 08, 2017 |
menwongo: Use net for roofing. Plant needs sun light to make their food. Polythene is use to cover the side of the house and the soil leaving the plants' leafs to have access to sunlight. Polythene only reduces the amount of water infiltration to the soil while increasing the soil temperature at the same time. It reduces emergence of weed.
There is no side effects in using it in green house (when used properly)! This is the type of olodo answer that gets people in trouble. Confidently dishing out false info as if he is a pro on the subject. Op. You can use normal plastic. The UV light from the sun will discolour it in a few weeks making it less transparent, thereby reducing the light available to the crops. After some months it will start breaking apart due to further UV light damage. At this point, it will become almost useless because rain will be leaking through it and it will not keep insects out. |

Agriculture › Re: My Cowpea Farm In Kano by Atlanticfire: 2:44pm On Jul 05, 2017 |
Yildiz: Why please if I may ask? You can not control rainfall, so without irrigation, your crop performance is at the mercy of the elements. With irrigation, you are in control of when the crops are watered and you can farm all year round. Also crop yield better when their water requirements are well managed compared to when they are left at the mercy of the elements |

Politics › Re: Nigerians Will Never Forget These Quotes by Atlanticfire: 2:27pm On Jul 05, 2017 |
Nigerians who fell for those lies need to, as a matter of fact, do some soul searching on themselves.
Whoever fell for those lies is gullable and need to cure himslf or herself from such gullability otherwise they will fall for bigger lies in future.
The signs were all over the place as at that time to debunk those lies, those who fell for it chose to close their eyes to reality. |

You can get 20 hectares but it's very competitive. There is no water nearby Thanks for your response. I can not do any farm in the North without the option of irrigation. I will like to have a farm in the North. Anywhere with water for irrigation will be nice. |

The land looks like it does not have much weeds.
Will it not have been better to just plough it instead of applying herbicides to kill the weeds.
Is there water close by for irrigation and can one get up to 20 hectares to lease there |
