abbakacici: So you can see GEJ will win the 11 state in the south-south and south east , plateau and Benue in the north making 13, he can easily get the required 25% vote from Adamawa, Kaduna, Kogi , Plateau, Nassrawa and Taraba making 19 state While APC can easily have the 7 NW, 6 NE, 6 SW and niger and kwara in the north central making 21

Kairoseki77: We shall see.

Considering the level of public hatred shown toward Northerners by PDP members on NL, I can't imagine that their relationships will be improving.
Hatred is equally divided across all ethnic groups in Nigeria. The 2015 elections, will be a great election, about our tomorrow not our yesterday. The PDP will make a great case for our best days are still ahead than APC that wants to roll back time. PDP is not and can never be a regional party.
PoliticsRe: Is PDP Becoming A Regional Party? by atlwireles: 9:50pm On Dec 20, 2013
Kairoseki77: Two problems with your contribution.

1. You didn't list any of APC's info, so you are not making a comparison, you are just stating where PDP is. We are talking of where they are going.

2. The Northern states are CURRENTLY leaving. Which is why the question is "Is PDP becoming a regional party?" The trend is that PDP is losing support in all the areas you named, while APC is gaining it. Your list two months ago would have had five more states. Those states are gone.
Where they are going will not be known till the day after the 2015 election.

Ikengawo: The educated in Nigeria have officially staged a coup over the military class and sokoto oligarchy, and that is the root cause of the political panic of the oligarchic north. The new north is raising. One led be smart, young, educated technocrats that solve problems and stand their own on the global stage.
You said it all right here. The new North not threaten by competition, education and technology.

PoliticsRe: Gani Adams, Itsekiri Leaders Inaugurate OPC In Warri, Delta by atlwireles: 1:58am On Dec 20, 2013
OPC.NAIRALAND:
In the battlefield to own Warri you will not be a match for Yoruba. In a political plot to own Warri you will not be a match for Yoruba. In an economic investment to own Warri, you will still not be a match for Yoruba. If Yoruba wants to own Warri we will come with direct aggression and rouse you up with assault and demolition and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. This OPC move has nothing to do with ownership.

I suggest you read what I wrote above on the reason why OPC came to Warri and don't let this new development ruffle your heart.

There has always been Itsekiri Yoruba relationship, this new angle is dictated by the political forecast facing this nation. How is this move an issue for Ijaw beats my imagination. If OPC sets up in Okun, should the Igalla people see that as an imminent trouble?

If Ijaw's hand is clean, then you have nothing to worry about. Like I said before, OPC wishes for Ijaw what Ijaw wishes for Itsekiri.

My friend, what is your wish for Itsekiri? You dont have to answer, but whatever it is, OPC wishes same towards you. A very balanced equal opportunity.
Youbas have nothing to match for in delta. When will you sadist get it.

alj harem: Ijaw citizen I am quite disappointed. Don't allow Igbo bigotry to infect you as well. We are all brothers and we are all civilized. As you will notice and wirnet said, violence is the very last option for Yorubas. Anything that can be solved diplomatically should be done by so. Never should we act uncivilized like my Igbo brothers such as altwireless was suggesting that is not maturity but childish.

Oh btw the hand of DIPLOMATIC relationship has been extended to ijaws as well. We still love grin every southern group as brothers.

Note: igbos are different in this brotherly relationship
You think everybody is an impostor like you? For the sake of peace stir clear from Delta. When the fire woods you gathering begin to burn, you will not be able to control the fire.

Your son will not want to be around an unhappy mother. You sound hurt and very disappointed in him. You need more time to get over your abandonment issues. Marrying him for your son is nonsense. Get your head straight and make a decision you can live with, for the next 50yrs.

wirinet: Ok, I did not know that the David Ejoor barracks is an amphibious brigade, I only go to warri and my ancestorial if there are occasion or when I need to attend town meetings. I live in Lagos and I am the secretary of our town's development association.

What pissed me off is your boastings and threats, and reminding me of the unnecessary and senseless conflict of 2009 - 2005, whereby both sides recorded huge loses in terms of resources and human resources. I lost a first cousin, my village was razed to the ground - twice, my old mother in excavos was in the bush for 3 days. The Ijaws themselves recorded huge losses. So it is annoying for you to come here boasting of that unfortunate saga.

I see ijaws as our neighbour and brother. If they want us to live brotherly like we had done in the past, we will gladly accord them our hands in friendship, but if they feel because they outnumber us and so no not have the right to live, then we will return aggression for aggression. please note the itsekiri man does not believe in employing violence in resolving disputes but through the legal process. But that is not a sign of weakness.
That is where we both differ, you live in Lagos, Warri nah home base for me. I don't have anywhere to run, when gunshots and fires begin to burn, If OPC is not called to order. Please tell your yoruba friends and brothers to stir clear from Delta. OPC and Delta have nothing in common. I have itsekiri Inlaws, cousins and friends, all they seek is peace. Warri has rebounded big time, since the dark days of the 90s and 2000s. We don't want to backtrack again. OPC should please tell the oil companies that ran to Lagos to relocated back to Warri. That's something they can do for us.

wirinet: Is that so? No ijaw graves were counted as a result of the crisis, abi? You people attacked defenses women and children in villages and towns, unprovoked for up to 5 years, and you are forming bravery here. You should know that the itsekiris were not prepared at all for the conflict. We did not realize the ijaws were that barbaric, killing children, pregnant women and the aged.

It took use a while to realize that the conflict was simply about claiming itsekiri land for your phantom Tori-obe state. but go and ask ijaw survivors when the tried to take over warri. It was a slaughter. It was you people that ran to Abuja and Asaba asking for truce. Also go and ask Ijaw villages how we starved them by cutting off all supply routes.

I hate to see Ijaws and Itsekiri kill each other but my blood boils when Ijaws feel they have monopoly of violence.

This alliance with the Yoruba has always been there, we do not need anybody's permission to align with our Yoruba brothers, just as the ijaws did not need any permission from any other tribe to form an alliance with the igbos. everyone is preparing for a post Nigeria future.
You are the same person that did not know, there was an amphibious barrack (David Ejoor) on NPA expresswayhuh I am not Ijaw, I don't need to be told stories of the Warri crises by you or anybody. If you think, Ijaws are your problem, then you clearly have never lived in Warri and you don't have anything to say. As, I have always maintained the Urhobos own their part of Warri, when you cross that line, we will show you the boundary. When you cross the Ijaw line, they will show you their boundary.Take your alliance to Ode Itsekiri and celebrate there. Warri is a three tribal town. Stop causing confusion, that always destroys your people for no reason. I never understand, why you people always start a fire, that ends up consuming you. You will begin to cry ethnic cleanising

Is Delta State a culture?
Your question makes no sense.
PoliticsRe: Gani Adams, Itsekiri Leaders Inaugurate OPC In Warri, Delta by atlwireles: 6:50pm On Dec 19, 2013
OPC.NAIRALAND:
I read some of what was written here when I came in last night and I retutned this evening to read more. I can't believe what I see in here.

OPC is primarily focused on socio-cultural fraternity amongst Yorubas. OPC locations are worldwide and anywhere you see Afenifere (the socio-political arrowhead) or Agbekoya (the socio-economic), you will also find OPC. Yoruba culture traverses the globe and hence OPC has presentation across the globe.

OPC is reinvesting Yorubas in the ethos and philosophical truths of our ancestors.

OPC is not in Warri to fight or to confront with others or stoke division. OPC is there to safeguard and reassure Yoruba kith and kin that they have nothing to fear for their safety and that of their community. People are handicapped from living fully and culturally when they have to worry about safety and security. Itsekiri does not have to be concerned about this anymore. Ijaw does not have to be concerned about Itsekiri launching an attack anymore either. OPC wishes for Ijaw what Ijaw wishes for Itsekiri.
OPC has no business in Delta state, not yesterday, not tomorrow and forever more. Your Yoruba boundary does not include Delta state. If you think otherwise, Warri people will always make you see reason.

There was tension and drama in Warri, Delta State yesterday as the National Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams, inaugurateda Delta State chapter of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) in Itsekiri community. What would have been a bloody confrontation between angry Itsekiri youths and security operatives was averted by the swift intervention of the leadership of the Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, Itsekiri National Youth Council (INYC) and members of the OPC.Adams, who led 2,000 OPC leaders, including Alhaji Oyinlola Awe, Lateef Oladimejo and Mudashiru Aderibigbe, National Admin Secretary, Financial Secretary and Treasurer; INYC President, David Tonwe and others, were stopped from the venue of the ceremony. The ceremony, scheduled for 11am at the Atuwatse II Model Primary School, Esisi Road in the Oil City, was later moved to a private residence when policemen invaded the scene andbarricaded the entrance to the premises.Mr. Gbubemi Abigor, INYC spokesman, lamented the misinformation spread about the event.“Our idea is to have contact with our brothers from the Southwest (OPC) and ensure that we can relate socially, economically, politically, etc.“Funny enough, this very good and noble intention was marred by negative speculations. We deem it necessary that we should avoid anything that can dent this noble relationship we are trying to create,” Abigor, who spoke on behalf of INYC President, David Tonwe, said.Speaking in the same vein, Otunba Adams, who led a large contingent of about 80 of OPC National Coordinating Council members to Warri, said: “We are not in Itsekiri (Warri) to cause problem and I do not see anything bad in coming to Delta State.”The OPC leader regretted that respected Itsekiri leaders would spread false information about an ordinary meeting between two closely related ethnic groups, who share ancestral linkage. He said the congress was not a fully militant group as it was portrayed, stressing that the group has played its part, like other ethnic bodies, in restoring pride of place to the Yoruba nation. He hailed the Itsekiri Leaders of Thought for ensuring that OPC Delta State (Itsekiri chapter) was inaugurated and the INYC for hosting the OPC National Coordinating Council (NCC) Meeting without the predicted breakdown of law and order.“With what we have done, we have shown a great deal of maturity. We played down the issue of confrontation.“Our members in this community are more than 2,000. If we (had) marched them to the field, there would have been chaos. I have to thank the leadership and organisation skill of the Itsekiri for the level of understanding,” he added.Earlier, Pa Ayomike, who receivedthe OPC and INYC teams in his home, slammed the state government for preventing attendees from enjoying the freedom of association as provided by the constitution, stressing that it has become a recurring incident for the government to violate the constitution. However, he commended OtunbaAdams and the leadership of the Itsekiri National Youth Council, led by Tonwe, for achieving the goal of the day despite the intimidation and harassment by security operatives.Pa Ayomike, a reputable historian, later presented one of his books, titled: ‘Warri: A Focus on The Itsekiri’, to commemorate the historical visit. The inauguration of Comrade Hakeem Agboola as the OPC Delta chapter coordinator was witnessed by Mr. Amorighoye Mene, Mr. Edward Ekpoko, Chief F.A. Rewane, Prof. Tony Afejuku, Mr. David Iwere and Dr. Lucky Akaruesehttp:
