saengine: And may I please please ask, why are all these simulations based on SA attacking Nigeria. Why not Nigeria attacking SA? I think we all know the answer to that grin grin
since you dont know what is called national defense policy, you can google it and educate yourself.

nigerian national defence policy is officially for defense focus, not aggression and attack

check most nigerian weapons, they are mostly defensive. good air defense, good patrol and reconnaisance, good coastal water patrol and protection, etc. get some more education about national policy and strategy, google it.

did south africa attack nigeria in that simulation ? no, your submarine stayed like a drowned fish under water, your warships ran away far from the coastline for fear of nigerian artillery fire-power, your air force had no jet aircraft to fly into nigeria, your army could not dare to land one single soldier on the shore of nigeria....do you call that an attack ?

do you have a dictionary ? check the meaning of attack. south africa in that simulation was actually hiding away from nigerian land, no courage to enter, that is a coward in simple common sense.

andrewza: you need brainess before you can teach any thing

so effectively the SAN wins because you will block access to your own ports for us.

since when did nigeria get V-Lap, base bleed or GPS guided rounds, since when did nigeria get the archer system. Anserw these questions that i asked some time ago.

the mokape out ranges the type 90 and roland so will be perfectly safe.

the helicopters will be able to operate at night and fly low to avoid detection. and the frigats can come far closer than you like, see point on your guns far shorter range.

why do they need to come in that close do you have any idea how powerfully the optics on the frigates and helicopters are

why would full be a problem drakensberg will be just behind them ready to provide all the supplies they need.

your satellites do not have the ability to track targets and provided real time data to the guns. I have expanded there limitations to you before

actually only 2 of the nigerian sats have cameras and SA also has a observation Satellite.
and the data they give is not real time so it is pointless.

you have 2 MPA and that is not enough for a 24/7 surveillance on all of our ships it all so is unable to provide real time data to the guns.

and there is nothing stopping us to fire a G5 from the fwrd hello deck of the drakensberg.

some points you for got or neglected

You have no means of providing real time data to your guns any information will be relayed and not up to date by the time they fire, the valour can hid the IR signature and are a small radar target that will be able to jam the radar and radio of your 2 MPA aircraft.
The radar of the frigate can pick up and track the shells fired by your guns, thus allowing accurate evasion since those shell will travel to slow and from to great a distance to be a threat.
You forgot completely about drakensberg and the G5 that can be fired from it,s fwrd helo deck (weather depending and will need some reinforcement, or how it can refuel and resupply the frigates and sub.
you have not explained how nigeria will pull of the logistical feat of moving at max 590 guns (not 800) all the personal, ammunition, food, extra extra to the coast
you have not explained how 2 MPA aircraft will maintain a 24/7 watch
you have not explained how the guns will get this information has real time data.
you have not explained where nigeria got archer arty systems or high tech rounds
nigerian military forces will now watch all south african air force aircraft, missiles in the air and all south african army soldiers on the ground, as well as all south african navy warships on the oceans from above them in outer space like a television, and far beyond range out of reach of any south african weapon attack

nigeria has technological superiority over south africa and all other african nations from cape town to cairo, in strategic and tactical spying, reconnaissance and 24 hour monitoring/tracking and intelligence information, with 3 modern high power and high image quality space satellites and these new nigerian army domestically manufactured high-tech spy balloons newly launched into outer space to stay at about 300,000km above the earth.

winning a war is not all about manufacturing weapons with ranges extra 10km longer than other countries, war involves both ammunition and information.

http://thenationonlineng.net/new/news/army-devises-new-balloons-to-tackle-insecurity/

also, Nigeria's national coastal defence alignment built by Israel, gave the naval array coastal radars and command-and-control centers.

10 naval radar stations built along the coastline. two command-and-control centres at the Nigerian Navy's Western Command Lagos, and at the Eastern Command in Calabar. A national command-and-control centre is at navy headquarters in Ojo, Lagos.

All centers receive real-time surveillance information of the entire nigerian territorial oceans from lagos to calabar 24 hours daily.

@andrewza you are asking all over again exactly the same questions i spent my time to answer in detail in all my 3 posts on naval blockade...see why @patriot4 complains that you irritate people with either your slow understanding or deliberate twisting of truth like a snake.

sorry if you cannot locate the amswers to your questions in my 3 long posts on naval blockade, give the posts to your son to help you read and intertprete. its almost 6am in my world, i have to go to church soon. i will not repeat those answers again, the public readers can judge all south african posts versus mine.

Fighter Pilot: South Africas new built space station in partnership with Russia.

http://en.rian.ru/science/20130403/180426943.html
it is a tiny half useless project and NOT a space satellite, it is an earth ground located station NOT a space sation you d_umb g_oat. your universities in south africa gave you poor eduaction, people are talking space satellite you are posting telescope on earth. thats how you failed exam in school and say the teacher didnt like you because you compete with him for girlfriend.

read your own source above, i quote

"MOSCOW, April 3 (RIA Novosti) - The space tracking station that is being built in South Africa as part of Russia’s astrophysical project RadioAstron can only be used with the radio telescope, Federal Space Agency Roscosmos said on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day some media reported that next year Russia would be able to receive telemetry from other spacecraft with the help of the South African station.

The agreement that was signed in South Africa provides for cooperation in astrophysical research under the RadioAstron project."

So the ground-based tracking station will work only in the interest of this particular project
."

nigeria remains the champion of african real satellites in space, for ever, amen.

Fighter Pilot: South Africa has been doing all this spy satellite way back in the early 2000s something that Nigeria did not have. Now that they bumped to this new tech, they feel so superior that they even undermine their seniors.

http://m.engineeringnews.co.za/article/sa-039spysatellite039-programme-accidently-exposed-2008-02-07
you are born a fraudster, that weblink source you posted does NOT say any south african spy satellite exists, and it is a blog post talking about an imaginary spy satellite, cant you read english ? it put a question mark in front of the story headline meaning no proof of claim, or your south african unuversities dont teach you meaning of a puntuation question mark ?

also the web story has no date, how did you form alie and say year 2,000s. dont you guys know that you are k.illing this thread by making it lose reliability in the eyes of the reading public ?

south africa has ZERO spy NO satellite anywhere, all you have is a tiny insufficient micro-satellite, if you have anything big, post the weblink source that is reliable, i will even accept wikipedia proof

we have argued this topic in detail when @snyderpg was here few months ago and nigeria was agreed by all as the most powerful satellite nation in all africa from cape town to cairo.

that is why i say i dont see south africa as superior to nigeria i any big way, each country has its own area of better technology.

china you laugh at can wipe out the whole of south africa in 24 hours and your military will not be able to fire one bullet. respect your masters, china is not south africa's equal in everything including money and world influence.

nigeria remains the spy master of africa, and nigerians spy power will soon watch jacob zuma and his 2 of his 4 wives 'play' party in the bedroom one day coming !

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-21954395 Nigeria has 3 active giant high resolution all purpose satellites in orbit

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SumbandilaSat South africa had 1 micro-satellite for earth observation only, e.g weather forecast, and its expiry date is september 17th 2012.

see why it is not good to think only you is advanced and others are not, see nigeria ahead of all africa in space technology !

andrewza: And yet your balloons dont have a 350km range radar nor did any of those other balloons

While yes air force strikes precede a ground attack. The nigerian army is larger than the SA army so we will need to use the air force has a force multiplier.
since when in war history did 8 Gripen jet air force become great force ? you think you are fighting lesotho republic ?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by AugustineAgain:
andrewza: you mean a 105mm gun that will gett seen 250km away an fall prey to the air force first then SA arty long before it can see the target. not mention it can pick up and track all your aircraft to vector in SAAF to take them out to.
you like to think of air to ground attack and forget the heavy threat of ground to air defense. please dump those out-dated balloons in soweto sewage system, they are world war II type tied to earth with ropes by Britain to cut the wings of German Messerschmit and Stuker or Junkas attack aircraft.

i know war history from zeppelin to balloon to swordfish to spitfire to mosquito to komet to mig-15 to mig-17 to mig-31.

there is even NO record that south african military uses any spy balloon. just because one company makes sir ballons in south africa does not mean it belongs to the military, or you want to go steal a private company's tourism businesss balloons ?

south african military has NO spy balloons in its inventory, dont envy nigeria and buy militray hardware you cannot maintain like Grippen jets.

i wont waste my time comparing Dakota and ATR-42. its a dream under influence of alcohol.

south african technology is inferior on strategic and tactical combat information, nigeria leads africa. that your balloon tied to the earth with ropes like a goat will be torn to pieces by the M 56 yugoslav artillery...please remove that post to avoid embarrassment for south africa.

NAVAL BLOCKADE : SOUTH AFRICA VS NIGERIA

@saengine in light font
@agaugust in bold font

I'm only seeing this now. Ok let me make my own assumptions..

i am your teacher, say thank you to me for teaching you how to simulate combat with assumptions first

nigerian builds a shield of empty old fishing trawlers, barges, and ships to block all navy bases and harbours from south african navy exocet anti-ship missiles and as decoy to confuse type 209 submarines torpedoes....You have created a bottleneck. Why would you do something so silly? If your navy ships need to leave their base in a hurry, they will now probably have to leave in single file. Making them nice targets for Exocet. Taking them out one by one. In an emergency you won't have time to completely removed this blockade you set up.

all nigerian navy warships will never move out from that trawler protection shield, that is why i built the defensive line to cover them. the nigerian navy is not a f00l

the nigeria army at night moves 675 towed artillery guns D-30, OTO Melara Mod 56, and Yugoslav M-56-2 to target each south african warships ratio 170:1, that is 170 artillery guns firepower against 1 warship"

South African Navy will not be within 11km of your coast. Hence rendering your OTO Melara Mod 56 guns useless. 675 - 200 = 475 guns left. The South African Navy will not be within 16km of the Nigerian coast, making your D-30 guns useless. 475 - 200 = 275 guns left. Sitting at 19km away from the Nigerian coast, the shells falling from your M56 guns will cause a friendly splash of water, cooling the faces of the hard working South African sailors. The 675 D-30, Melara and M56 are completely useless with SA Frigates at 19km from your coast. So 675 = 0.

sorry your technical data of nigerian artillery ranges are very wrong, 200 units D-30 artillery range is 21km, 77 Bofors Haubit artillery range is 27km. 50 palmaria artillery range is 30km, 48 archer artillery range is 60km so that covers all nigerian continental shelf ocean territory of 22km maximum and far beyond into part of EEZ waters extension.

the farther away south africa's 4 warships stay from the nigerian coast, the more useless the blockade, you cannot use 3 warships to do the same job nigerian navy does with over 300 warships and fast attack boats over a coast of 50,000 sq km it is absolutely impossible, or are the south african warships flying air spirits ? your ships speed is that of an animal horse running on land, and south african ships are 100% visible and exposed on open sea waters with not trees or mountains to cover them, south african warships are at a big dis-advantage and exposed to be seen and be hit by shells

nigerian army at night moves 100 heavy mobile artillery archer, palmaria, and bofors to target each south african warship ratio 25:1. Now that your cheaper artillery is out of range. We take to the air. Each Valour class frigate can carry one Rooivalk helicopter, with a one or two naval modifications. But we only use 3 Rooivalk and one Super Lynx 300. Carrying a maximum load of 16 Mokopa missiles (8 under each wing), our pilots go on the hunt for your artillery at night. To get the maximum range from your artillery, you place them near your coast and not far inland. At 6 km from your coast, we can pick your artillery off one by one. One sortie of 3 Rooivalk will destroy half of your arsenal. At 6km from your coast we are also far enough from any Roland surface to air missiles you might have near by, and also close enough to our frigates in order for them to provide point defence with Umkhonto SAM. Your artillery will be nothing but sitting ducks. Each frigate would carry enough Mokopa missiles to destroy your artillery.

careless mistake, all south african slow speed and low flying helicopters will be shot down by Roland or Type 90 air defences, even jets cannot survice nigerian air defence, now you waste all your helicopters, especially when nigerian radar detects your helicopters in flight, it is time for the nigeria's superior F-7 jets to fly and shoot down all south african helicopters from BVR range 7km air to air engagement.

jets are far superior to helicopters in air to air combat due to 7 times faster F-7 jet speed, 3 times higher altitude, and full load of air to air missies on F-7 while south african slow speed Rooivalk helicopters are busy loaded with 16 anti-tank missiles they will not be allowed to fire when F-7 jet shows up as a full interceptor role jet fighter. valour frigates will not be able to help its helicopters by firing umkhonto missiles against F-7 jets due to the 15km short range of the SAM umkhonto and the great risk of 'friendly fire' hitting its own Rooivalk helicopters by mistake when nigerian F-7 jets are in the same airspace with them, the all the south african Rooivalk helicopters will be shot down by F-7 jets.

you just made a worse mistake by flying out helicopters with zero Gripen jet protection.

in my own simultaion i did not expect south african navy to use ordinary helicopters against a powerful military like nigeria. in any case, the Rooivalk cannot use their mokopa missiles at 6km from nigerian coast and escape Roland SAM 8km range.

also, Rooivalk will not find the artillery and hit target from 6km, they need close range like 3km visual assistance to ensure they hit artillery guns and not something else like army trucks or civilian truck and industrial metals in the open because radar is s.tupid, it just goes after metals and cannot tell difference between carterpillar digger long neck and artillery gun.

nigeria is not Togo republic i keep telling you guys, you had a wrong impression of nigeria on pages 1 to 12 of this thread/topic. please update your knowledge now.

All this time our frigates are not sitting still. They are employing defensive maneuvers to make it difficult for you. The information the ATR-42 maritme patrol aircraft provides your artillery units may be correct when it is received. But your gunners will be firing almost all their shells into the water, because of our evasive maneuvers.

south african warships will need to reduce moving around because fuel will be wasted and you are 5,000km away from home, you move too much you run out of fuel. south african warships are too slow, maximum speed is less than 1km per minute, nigerian artillery shells are too fast at muzzle velocity about 50km per minute.

also no matter how south african warships maneuver the nigerian satellites will lock on them and track them. outer space satellites can see a bicycle at the door of a bungalow house on planet earth and identify it clearly as a bicycle, a ship is bigger than thousands of bicycles.

the 3 nigerian satellites are the very advanced technology types that south africa does NOT have, and nigeria is superior to all african countries in satellite spy and track technology.

with 3 satellites imaging every minute and rolling the images together in a motion picture format it gives a similar effect to real time location of all south african warships and is relayed at the speed of telephone communication to artillery below combined with perfect GPS ocean position tracking and positioning every minute of the slow moving fuel wasting warships

QUOTE :

"The Federal Government has revealed that it will soon start using satellites to monitor the movement of suspected terrorists and their locations in the country.

Nigerian satalites NG- Sat 2 and NG-Sat X are high resolution satellites capable of giving high quality images from space.

The Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr Seidu O. Mohammed said Nigeria will also use communications satellites and global positioning systems GPS to monitor every neighbourhood."

weblink source : http://www.informationng.com/2012/05/nigeria-to-use-satellites-to-monitor-suspected-terrorists.html

Now let me introduce you to the great super-modern ATR-42 Surveyor world class maritime patrol aircraft of nigeria that totally out-classes south african out-dated cucumber shaped year 1950 old Dakota maritime patrol aircraft

"The ATR 42 Surveyor, also known as the ATR 42 MP, is a derivative of proven ATR 42 aircraft developed to conduct maritime patrol missions and coastal surveillance.

It can load the wide spectrum of equipment required to conduct that kind of missions such as radar, FLIR, TV camera, Electronic Support Measures (ESM), Communications and Navigation systems. In addition, bubble panoramic windows have been provided to the Surveyor for optimal visual observation of the environment.

The ATR 42 Surveyor can remain on station for up to 8 hours at 200 nautical miles from its base airfield. To do so, the aircraft cruises at low loiter speed which facilitates target detection and tracking while it can change to higher speed at any time. The Italian Coast Guard uses ATR-42 to protect Italy's Economic Exclusive Zone (EEZ)"

weblink source : http://www.deagel.com/AEWandC-ISR-and-EW-Aircraft/ATR-42-Surveyor_a000090003.aspx

the nigerian surveyor has a target search and tracking radar, and real-time television camera, plus a night vision all weather forward looking infar-red cameras FLIR, its tracking range of 330km is safe enough away from the valour ships umkhonto SAM 15km short range, for the ATR-42 to stay in air for many hours to both monitor valour frigates maneuvers and record/relay in real time all the GPS locations to artillery commanders and also correct/re-direct artillery gun fire for great accuracy.

two nigerian ATR-42 Surveyor aircraft only need to be in air for less than about 45 minutes to complete directing and redirecting fire control of the short and sharp 2 minutes rapid fire artillery bombardment on all 4 south african warships. ATR-42 real time television camera and night vision infra-red both of which CANNOT be jammed by any south african ECM, makes this artillery attack possible at night or day.

nigeria may also use its new army spy balloons at 84km above the earth to do real time radar and camera real time targeting for the nigerian artillery on ground constantly communicating, as a third option of locating and targeting the south african warships.

nigerian military forces will now watch all south african air force aircraft, missiles in the air and all south african army soldiers on the ground, as well as all south african navy warships on the oceans from above them in outer space like a television, and far beyond range out of reach of any south african weapon attack

nigeria has technological superiority over south africa and all other african nations from cape town to cairo, in strategic and tactical spying, reconnaissance and 24 hour monitoring/tracking and intelligence information, with 3 modern high power and high image quality space satellites and these new nigerian army domestically manufactured high-tech spy balloons newly launched into outer space to stay at about 300,000km above the earth.

winning a war is not all about manufacturing weapons with ranges extra 10km longer than other countries, war involves both ammunition and information.

http://thenationonlineng.net/new/news/army-devises-new-balloons-to-tackle-insecurity/

option number 4 :

Nigerian national coastal defence alignment built by Israel gave the naval array coastal radars and command-and-control centers.

10 naval radar stations built along the coastline. two command-and-control centres at the Nigerian Navy's Western Command Lagos, and at the Eastern Command in Calabar. A national command-and-control centre is at navy headquarters in Ojo, Lagos.

All the centers receive real-time surveillance information along the whole of nigerian coastline from lagos to calabar 24 hours daily.

no navy warships in the world can hide and play games around nigerian coastal waters, nigerian military is far too advanced for that kind of tactics.

hundred of artillery firing at the ships is brilliantly intelligent, artillery commanders are very smart, they know your slow speed ship will try to maneuver so the spread the shells like a large fishing net all around the ships, some far behind , some far in front, some to left, some to right. wherever your warships turn to escape there is a rain of artillery shells everywhere around them, no place to hide in open sea, valour frigates will be placed in center of the shelling by artillery shells spread widely over them like a spiders web. you have never seen war of artillery mastery and you dont know battle field tactics.

you were not even expecting attack artillery from nigeria, you were waiting for NNS THUNDER and NNS ARADU which are safe inside niger dock off the sea, now on interland docks you dont know artillery rate of fire, 3 shells to 9 shells per minute, from 200 guns alone over 1,000 artillery shells per minute and 2,000 artillery shells in 2 minutes will rain all over and spread all around 4 south african warships in a surprise attack. in war history, no ships have ever survived that kind of very heavy bombardment in rapid fire mode.

All this time our Super Lynx 300 is passing information about your stationary artillery guns to our Frigates. At a rate of 80 rounds a minute we bombard your position from 20km away. 4 Frigates demolish your positions.

the Super Lynx will face the same shot down by nigerian F-7 jets. its like Cat vs Alsatian Dog combat.

all 4 south africa valour frigates have only a total of 4 main guns with range of only 16km maximum, to use these few you make mistake of coming closer to just 16km away from nigeria coast and expose to more nigerian artillery, the warships enter into a worse danger and will be sunk faster to sea bottom.

no country in all africa can penetrate nigeria's coastal defenses, all the enemy ships will be sunk to sea bottom like the four unlucky south african navy valour frigates end their careers, and may their souls R.I.P , amen.

same way america and israel sign UN treaties and break it in their national interest. grin who wants to be caged by papers ?

nigeria has been test firing domestically built missiles to range 120km in Epe town of lagos state, we posted it here before, now nigeria has launched a spy device into space 84km high.

nigeria is negotiating full nuclear reactor building with Russia, and when the goal of long range missile is now achieved, nigeria can build its own nuclear warhead and put on our missile, we become a major world military power like pakistan and india and also the champions of africa

andrewza: You do not wish to address my points and many others because you don't have the anserw.
i am not a coward if you can read my nature from the way i write. if i refuse to answer any question on nairaland, i am not running away from the question, i am running away from the F00LISHNESS inside it.....

a Bible quote from book of proverbs 26:4

"do not answer a F00L according to his FOOLISHNESS or else you become same like him"

patriot4: Look the cause of the problem is global jihadism, and we are adressing it by killing all the terrorists we meet.
And our intelligence community combined with the help of the locals are actually having a lot of succes in their actions.
the terrorists have been defeated and we are closing this chapter of our history while putting in place proactive measures to ensure the problem never comes back. I know you were hoping for an other outcome, but what can I say: we've got a formidable army!
africa's best army is nigeria's....best infantry corp, best artillery corp.

andrewza: Why you reposting old postes instead of anserwing the points I made.
i have made up my mind not to answer posts that have deliberate bad motive, saying a nigerian weapon is bad because it is nigerian, and a south african weapon is good because it is south african, posts that tell open lies and make deliberate false statements, anything that can k.ill this thread and drive away neutral public readers who just want to learn, asking for proofs and sources when one neutral has been given, demanding for more and more sources, asking for answers already given to be repeated etc

my time is precious, i work 8 hours a day or more, and i have social commitments at weekends. i want to use my time on this nairaland to share my knwoledge with people who have interest in military stuff, not everybody will like to learn from me for sure, but i will help those who need it.

@patriot4

great answers @patriot4, nigerians are very proud of you. i could not contribute yesterday because i got banned for posting too many heavy photos inside one comment and nairaland auto anti-spam admin banned me as agaugust.

artillery guns have always been very accurate in firing from world war II without computers.

mathematical/geometric azimuth or bearings and physics projectiles theory are the secrets of artillery accuracy. these calsulate target distance versus gun muzzule velocity and a few other factors to determine angles of elevation, depression, and rotation of the gun.

azimuth calculations are done manually/analog or by computer. with a manual/analog system the man needs about 6 minutes to do it, a computer will do it in about 1 minute.

all artillery guns do not need computers each, usually it is one computer to 5 guns sharing it, so it is very wrong for the south africans to say nigerian M56 artillery has no computers, have they seen nigerian army using the guns in real war ? 5 guns need only one computer, anything more than that is a personal wish of the gun designer because generally artillery works in groups of their guns called batteries not individually.

once again well done @patriot4, good posts you made yesterday.

you south africans can continue wasting your weekend posting Roland Vs Gripen argument, maybe you have nothing else to do. better leave all the stuff we posted for other people to judge. keep on ranting like ants. me, i go to a party now, funtime pizza party.... grin grin grin grin

andrewza: come on why don't you address the many points made. in both the naval and air force one please do try. o and on the naval one here is one for you. put a G5 on the drakensberg now what you going to do.

i would also like for you to please show proof nigeria has the archer arty system.

show proof nigeria uses GPS guided, base bleed, V-Lap, or any other advanced arty rounds. show how a GPS guided shell works on a moving ship.

Show you source on the SAN aluminum T-craft

and answer the different points made of your doggie roland argument
...a defeated angry south african, so angry in defeat and even asking a nigerian to go find the details of south african navy T-craft vessel and post it for the south africans ? sounds very craaaaaaazy grin grin grin grin

fellow readers/nairalanders

on pages 1 to 12 of this thread south africans were silencing nigerians with Gripen jet photos against Roland air defense. now on page 315 we know they have only 8 Gripen pilots, and that all south african air force cannot hit a Roland, now they get angry....defeat came long, but still came on nairaland.

my mission is accomplished on this thread/topic/forum, i give thanks to God.
