80% of the comments here seem to support the beating he received. What is his crime? Is there anywhere in the Nigerian constitution that outlaws cross dressing? Personally, I detest gays and lesbians but beating a boy for dressing like a girl is wrong. Acts like this is what's keeping Africa behind in present day scheme of things. |

saphiere: what has this gender not done to women? Any woman who is against feminism needs her brain checked. What has the female gender not done to men also? Is it slitting of throats while the men are asleep as a result jealousy or is it hanging a bastard pregnancy on their necks. It is a two way thing. Humans are generally crooked by nature, so, the notion of one gender being only at the receiving end is a misconception. |

Is the the smelly hijab or the fact that women are subjugated to the background. I know with time you'll reconvert back to your default religion. |

Righteousness2: These guys are not running away because they feel like Exercising or they wanna go on Picnic or holiday. They are running away because they understand what many of us do not understand.
The World is Preparing to enter into a time JESUS Christ Described as "Great tribulation", such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time.,...................,.,.......... You mean Afghans understand the Bible better than Christians themselves? Pastor, those people are running away not because of any tribulation thing or whatever, they are running away simply because of natural instinct. People are naturally attracted to a place of peace and they tend to run away from places of unrest. The same goes for animals too. |

WaffenSS: They only defeated the British during the war of independence... with the support of France.
They claim victory in the second world war, but technically Russia won that war.
Since then, the US never won anything.
Not Vietnam, not Korea, not the Gulf Wars.
Their special forces, both DEVGRU (Seal Team 6) and 1st SFOD-D (Delta Force) with a mix of Rangers and conventional infantry were routed in somalia by the rag-tag militia of Mohammed Farah Aidid, and they fled in shame.
Now Afghanistan. They were laughing when the Soviets had to leave Afghanistan, now they're the ones who cut a deal to leave.
Afghanistan has never been conquered by any world power. In guerrilla warfare, even the most sophisticated nations find it difficult. The rocky, mountainous terrain in Afghanistan makes it almost impossible to defeat the Taliban. |

blessedemeritus: Hello Nairalanders, Having read many comments, and response to persons who share their story here on Nairaland and received several advice and positive opinions, I now have the courage and confidence to divulge on you for your guidance and recommendations.
Am a Law student in one of the state University, currently in my sophomore year, I'm in state dilemma as to what step to take next in life, because of my present situation in life, I'm the first child in the family of 4 and taking responsibility of my younger ones'. Because of the burden and responsibilities on me, my school fees, my needs and that of my kid ones' considering how things are tough for me, i think it will be difficult for me to continue my studies at this time. I'm considering dropping out of school to huzzle or learn handwork to meet my kid ones' need and make life easy for us, because things are really difficult for us now. But will appreciate your candid advice on what to do, drop out to learn handwork? Which handwork will you suggest for me? YOUR OPINIONS, ADVISE, RECOMMENDATION SUGGESTIONS, will be appreciated. NO INSULT PLEASE.
Current CGPA 4.70 You are law student and you can't spell "hustle". Anyway, with the present situation of the country, I'll suggest you learn repairs of keke napep. I live close to a guy who repairs keke. He makes nearly 10 to 12k daily. |

SeaTrade: Not really. Everyone must not make it through school, especially for someone whose case is like this. There are people in Aba,Onitsha ,lagos ,etc ...who made it from hustles like this. Ukaonu and sons Aba also started from the streets like this. Even Cosmas maduka,Innoson and the likes all went through this route. What I can do is if I meet him again and see he is doing well,I might add up his inventory to show support and stuff. Success doesn't start and end in classrooms, though its important. But one has to look at his background early and make the switch in time rather than doing what one's reality cannot support. That is what I stand for though. Bro I appreciate your kind gesture toward the kid but don't you think encouraging him to go learn a skill would have been a better option? Hawking pure water would expose him to so many dangers. This is just my own thinking, no offense. |

motymop: From abj to Kaduna is just 3 to 4 hours. Take the new offer.
Kaduna is safe and cheap. Dont let people who haven't leave their streets deceive you.
If you want opportunity and career growth, you need to be able to change location all the time. That is how it is.
Your family can be in abj and you can visit them on weekends or you could move with your family if you want.
Your work load will be reduced and you might also be reporting to abj headquarters sometimes.
Take up the new opportunity. Bad advice. Op if you decide to take up the offer, make sure you relocate with your family.Because of the security ish in Kaduna I would have advised you to forget the job. All the same , just follow your heart. |
