The case of North East and the politics surrounding it is pathetic,money meant for welfare of both soldiers and those in IDP camps are squandered at will,and i ask a simple question,beyond the pretence of love by the presidency for the North East,'how can you believe that a man who killed your father and married your mother,would take good care of you'?
The 'presidents men'(Babachir etc) allegedly steals from the people of North East and the president turns a blind eye but rather shows his much celebrated love for north East by asking the world bank to focus on the North East,i rest my case.

Truly disappointed in you,the massacre going on in the middle belt and some part of the south by the rampaging Fulani herdsmen and yet,the unusual silent from the governing authorities. Just a week ago,the people of Myango in Bassa LGA of Plateau state,woke up to an attack by the marauding fulani herdsmen and 19 people were killed,according to official reports,yet Nigeria and Nigerians did not see such attack on innocent people as a threat to national unity.
Rather it is the harmless protesters in the East that are regarded as a threat to national unity.
A novelist once said,'when they came for civil rights activists ,I didn't talk because I wasn't one,when the came for the Jews, I didn't say anything because I wasn't one,when they came for blacks yet I said nothing,because am not one but when they came for me,there was nobody left to speak on my behalf'.
We must speak up for justice,or forever stay silent.
There are more civil ways of arresting civil up rises all over the world,we all wish and pray for a peaceful Nigeria,where equity and justice is the order of the day.

PRESS RELEASE

The Executive Governor of Plateau State has expressed great dismay and shock at the sudden build up of tension in Jos Metropolis on account of the conduct of some disgruntled elements, who have decided to throw the metropolis into confusion on account of their negative reaction to the agitations of Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) in the South East.

Consequently, the Governor has directed an immediate imposition of curfew from dusk to dawn (6pm – 6am) within the Greater Jos – Bukuru Metropolis, until further notice. The deployment of security personnel to all flash points within the metropolis has also been directed to ensure compliance with the curfew order and to avert any further breach of law and order.

The Governor wishes to assure all citizens that the security and welfare as the primary concern of Government is assured by the Rescue Administration. He is therefore enjoining all citizens to go about their business with the assurance that their safety is guaranteed. He further appealed to all religious and community leaders, neighbourhood vigilantes as well as all law abiding citizens to ensure nobody is allowed to take advantage of this unfortunate situation to engage in criminality.

The Governor wishes to restate that Plateau State remains home to all citizens of Nigeria irrespective of religion, ethnic extraction or political persuasion. He therefore enjoins all peace loving citizens to ensure that nothing is allowed to upset the hard earned peace in the State.

There are many Mansions in Lagos own by Igbo people but they have Hausa men as their gateman. Yet, they allow these their northern brethrens guiding their life to establish small kiosk where they sell biscuit, and all sort of small goods and services like shoe polish and shoe repair.
The Igbos here do not only trust the Hausa man with his life, he also allow him own a shop upon his land for the distribution of good and services.
Pls, stop judging the Igbos and Hausas by the ignorant attitudes of their folks in far East and far North who have never leave their home to know that their is more to life than just hate and antagonism.

The problem with some of you guys is that,you just scratch the issue from the surface,just to appease the proponents of one Nigeria or to be called a civilized gentleman.
How do you explain out the issue of a president,whom historically has shown his unhidden disdain for Igbos,dont forget the 97%-5% hate speech he made,look at his appointments,just take a look at his recent NNPC appointments,where no single Igbo was considered inspite of having two or more oil producing states.
He has continued to show his endemic and devilish agenda against the igbos,what happens to government of inclusion.
Look at the systematic exclusion of the East in the railway projects etc and you clowns sit there and shout one Nigeria.

Nigeria indeed has ethnic groups dispersed across several states, only few states are homogenous.

However I want to correct your assertion that Obi people in Nasarawa are Igbo's. I don't know about how they came about that name, but it is not a hard thing to find names in other areas similar to what you have in other well defined ethnic groups.

Obi people in Nasarawa are not Igbo. The Igbo people there are migrants. Obi people are just like their brothers in Jenkwe, Ayaragu, Awe all belong to the ethnic groups normally shared between Nasarawa and Plateau and a few local ones. If you have your doubts meet with the emir or obi. His palace is not too far from the main bus stop in Obi.

While you have IBO people there selling their items like provisions as they do in other areas, they all return home to the east during Xmas and new year. In fact it would be difficult for you to get some provisions during this period as the Igbo's who normally sell it would have returned to their towns in the east for the yuletide.

Don't define a people's culture by the name of their town.

you are very much on point...am igbo and i ve been to Obi local govt in Nasarawa,they are not Igbos,i believe Obi should mean something else in there language. They are equally nice people!

The Igala communities in Anambra are basically riverine areas and the terrain is similar to the niger-delta creeks,so this makes it difficult to navigate and bring in much needed development and the igbo communities in those areas face similar challenges,but effort are geared towards doing all that is possible to fix it right. Governor Obiano has done much towards opening up the agrarian and riverine communities of Anambra state,in other to be at par with other zones of the state and no one can dispute it.
Igbos and Anambrarians are known to be there brothers keepers and no form of discrimination has been recorded against the Igala people. The Anambra Broadcasting station(ABS) Awka,always present news in English,Igbo and Igala. In an effort to carry every indigene of the state along and give all sense of belonging.
The Atah of Igala can testify to this and the cordiality between the Igbos and Igala speaking people wherever they are.

We seem to be going round in a vicious circle,we fight a terrorist that is directly or indirectly being financed by the government. How else do you explain the fact that as soon as Boko haram is beginning to run out of fund,negotiation is opened up and a few of the chibok girls or 'made to believe' Chibok girls are released and government in-turn gives them millions of dollars(billions of naira) and the recruitment excercise for boko haram picks up,and there expert bombers are equally released to them!
Seriously,we are in for a long thing,Nigeria must restrategise and change our modus operandi,we are equally endangering our neighbours and exposing them to regional terrorism.
No doubt the Nigerian army is doing a great Job and we appreciate it,kudos to them but those in the highest making body of our security must way there decisions and get it right, beyond political gains.
