The idea of flying cars has been around for decades but could they ever go mainstream? These companies are trying to do the impossible. Already we know that Dubai plans to launch their world’s first Taxi Drone come July this year, and also the Dutch company PAL-V has already started making sales since they launched the PAL-V Liberty. Assuming you could buy any of these cars, which would it be? Judging based on the design and looks alone. Below you’ll find pictures of 2017 flying cars and their manufacturer names. We await your response in the comment section. Terrafugia Transition https://autojosh.com/flying-cars-2017-cars-wish/

ABUJA, NIGERIA (10 FEBRUARY 2017) Component manufacturers from the National Association of Automotive Components and Allied Manufacturers of South Africa (NAACAM) last week reaffirmed their determination to support automotive manufacturing in Africa with initial focus on Nigeria, Kenya, Algeria and Ethiopia. NAACAM envoys who were in Nigerian cities of Abuja and Lagos to discuss industry and trade matters with principal directors at the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) and other stakeholders said component manufacturers in South Africa are eager to come and invest in Nigeria’s nascent automotive industry. Shatterprufe Managing Director and President, NAACAM Dave Coffey who led the four-man delegation said: “We see a journey taking place in the country’s automotive programme and we’ve got a number of component manufacturers working under the banner of African Association of Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM) willing to come to Nigeria to partner and invest.” He described their visit as an extension of the August 2016 Jeff Nemeth-led AAAM appointment with President Muhammadu Buhari and top government functionaries and relevant agencies including representatives of the National Automotive Manufacturers Association (NAMA). Outside South Africa, which has a well-developed world-class automotive industry, Nigeria is recognized as a strategic market over the long term due to its demographics even though certain indices haven’t yet been remedied. Shaterprufe director who feels strongly about these indices said new vehicle volume can only grow if there is an affordable solution and this does not only repose in the manufacturing of reasonably priced vehicles but also in creating access to attractive vehicle finance whilst managing and constraining the importation of secondhand vehicles in a balanced and appropriate manner. “Our ultimate objective is to grow with the Nigerian market and essentially work out the right economies of scale and technology to get the industry where it deserves to be. We are not here just to trade but to explore other suppliers and partner with producers with current equipment.” Coffey said. Also adding that component manufacturing is a fundamental subsidiary of automotive manufacturing, Mr. Coffey said: “As component manufacturers, we don’t have to wait for legislation to register our presence in a country with huge potential as Nigeria, hence the reason why we think the time to enter this market is now and we are here to partner local manufacturers, add value, supply the local aftermarket needs and position ourselves to support the growth of new vehicle production.” He said the biggest multiplier effect of automotive manufacturing comes with component manufacturing, saying “the more you localize the higher the number of jobs created, and the deeper you go downstream, the more jobs you create.” Citing a windscreen manufacturing concern for example, Mr. Coffey conjectured that for every 200, 000 windscreens produced, no fewer than 150 to 200 workers are employed and in the shocks absorber and struts factory, about 250 people are hired when approximately, one million shocks are produced annually. Other NAACAM delegates present at the meetings are Gabriel South Africa Engineering Manager, Roux Coetzee, Caravelle Automotive Carpets General Manager, Kobus Oosthuysen and Cool Refrigeration Parts producer, Michael Frankenfeld. A subsidiary of the PG Group, Shatterprufe is South African based glass and armored-plate manufacturers since 1935, while Caravelle Automotive Carpets is a member of the KAP Automotive (Pty) Ltd. that specializes in the manufacture of interior trims as well as overlay car carpets, using fine gauge nylon tufted and high quality polyester. However, Cape Town based Gabriel Tore Parts and Components manufactures branded shock absorbers, MacPherson Struts, strut cartridges and Gabriel patented gas springs just as Cool Refrigeration Parts is renowned in transport refrigeration. https://autojosh.com/nigerian-automotive-market/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

Many Lagosians are surprised to hear Danfo buses will be phased out. This has made headline in the last few days with photos of the new replacement buses trending online. Many are scared that the eradication will have an adverse effect on their day to day commute.. We will like to here your opinion. Tell us the effect this will have on you as well as the society. Let’s start with these 5 points while you add yours.. High Rate of Unemployment One Danfo bus puts food on several tables.. The driver, conductor, the mech, Agbero, NURTW Executives/Chairman etc.. even the Men In Black sef. Closing that door will render many of these guys jobless. High Rate Of Crime I am sure you know the next best job for these guys… (Hooliganism). However, a gradual change that also provides alternative jobs for the affected may mitigate crime rate. Increase in Transportation Fare Same way Uber is usually more expensive than that 1985 VW Passat “Kabu Kabu“. These new buses will be more expensive except they are heavily subsidised as promised by the Lagos State Government. Reduced Accident Danfo has been maiming and killing Lagosians since… So much recklessness and oversabi. I even entered one with a bad throttle cable recently.. You won’t believe that the conductor went to sit in the boot controlling the throttle with his hand. The driver was even shouting at the conductor “tena si, tena si” (move faster, move faster).. See me jumping down like Vin Diesel. Lagos Roads will Become Dull Whether it is good or bad, these bus drivers can light up your day. 4 conductors can want to drag you into their bus at the same time, some that don’t have change will merge you with another passenger you don’t know from Adam. They will sha create one thing that will make you argue. Sometimes, they crack you up. Add yours in the comment section.. https://autojosh.com/danfo-buses-are-phased-out/

Knowledge they say is light ,but how much knowledge do you have about tyres ?.Here are ten facts you should know. 1. Car tyres are naturally white since they are made from rubber ,they become black after carbon or silica is added . 2. It is said that the word “tyre”(UK) also “tire”(US) got its origin way back in the 15th century .A shortened form of “attire”,since the tyre is seen as a “clothing” of the wheel. 3. Old and worn-out tyres are often used to build roads . Making use of a technique called “Crumbling” ,where the tyres are transformed into various sizes of granules. Experts say it helps make roads last longer. 4. Did you know that your tyres (the considerably suitable ones) can be retreaded ? .Giving your almost smooth tyres a second life and helps save some few bucks .However I am not sure if such services are available here in Naija. 5. Many years ago the first set of tyres were not actually made from rubber .They were made from bands of iron ,which was later changed to steel. 6. Michelin is working on something called the “tweel”, a one-piece airless wheel and tire. The tweel offers the possibility of no flat tires, and replaceable treads. Now thats awesome ! . 7. The recommended(for safety) and legal minimum thread depth in most countries is 1.6mm . 8. Tyres have an expiry date ,six years to be precise. So check those tyres before you buy them ! .Naija people that like buying tokunbo 9. The right tyre pressure , can actually help boost fuel economy by about 10 percent. 10. The world’s largest tyre is in Allen Park Michigan. This monster tyre weighs 12 tonnes and its 80 feet tall . It was built to withstand hurricane-force winds. It once served as a Ferris wheel at the 1964-65 New York’s World Fair. This is one ride we used to admire as kids. We used to say it could fly when it got to a bad spot.. because of its 4 wheel drive. There was no stopping it. The first generation Range Rover is so hard to let go to the extent that the rich are still yearning for it. This has made Land Rover to launch a program called “Range Rover Reborn“. With this program, you can now buy a completely restored version of the SUV at a price starting from $169,500 (N83million). Do you really think it’s worth it? The one featured in our post is a Bahama Gold 1978 “three-door” Range Rover Classic that is fresh from the factory. 5-liter V8 carburetor engine yielding a mere 132 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Tim Hannig who is the director of Land Rover Classic said, “this is to nurture the rich heritage of Land Rover and it’s a bit of clever marketing.” Tell us what you think in the comment section. When most people hear the name “Ferrari” all that comes to their mind is speed, luxury and an expensive car that can drain your account. But there is a whole lot more about Ferrari right from its origin till this point. Here are 11 Ferrari facts you should know . 1. The founder Enzo Ferrari was born in Modena in the year 1898.He established a race team in 1929(Scuderia Ferrari) and he made use of Alfa Romeo cars .He later had issues with Alfa Romeo and went on to start producing his own cars in 1939. 2. Though this is not directly related to them, I just couldn’t let it slip. The footballer Mesut Ozil and Enzo Ferrari have a striking resemblance .Funny enough Enzo died in 1988 and Mesut was also born in 1988 .Just take a look at the image below: 3. Enzo indirectly inspired the Lamborghini . Ferruccio Lamborghini once drove his car to Enzo and complained about a fault ,Enzo called him an idiot.Enzo also added that he(Ferruccio) should concentrate on building tractors(What he was involved in at the time).Ferruccio angrily went on to start the Lamborghini super car business to prove him wrong-The ultimate revenge . 4. In 1963 Ford almost bought Ferrari the same year Lamborghini started his car company .Enzo made a last minute decision to pull out of negotiations as a result of disagreements on the direction of racing. This angered Ford and they were bent on creating a car that would kill the Ferrari brand . The result was the GT40.I guess Enzo inspires people by pissing them off . 5. The first official Ferrari model was the “125s”.Sadly only two were made .To further make matters worse the two cars were not preserved ,they were dismantled and used to build the next model. So heart breaking !!. 6. FIAT owns a very huge stake in the company .In 1969, 50 percent of the company was sold to FIAT .At the time of his death in 1988 he and his son sold even more stakes retaining only 10 percent . 7. The company doesn’t make money from only cars they are hugely involved in merchandising and licensing .And they make a cool $1.5 billion plus a year .The items include wristwatches, clothes, sunglasses etc . 8. Their engines are engineered musically to sound perfect by making use of 3rd and 6th harmonics on the air intake, like a flute or organ. 9. The companies first hybrid super car is the 2013 La Ferrari . 10. An entire museum is dedicated to their cars in Italy ,The “Museo Ferrari”. 11. Labeled the most expensive car crash ever, eight Ferraris were involved in a single accident occurring in Shimonoseki, in Southwestern Japan, on December 6, 2011. Know a fact I haven’t listed ? ,kindly comment below. Don’t forget to like and share.
