General Motors is in the news again ,this time money is changing hands. It has sold its European operations in a deal worth $2.3 billion. GM has let go off its Opel and Vauxhall brands to French automaker PSA Group. The deal includes the sale of GM Financial’s European division, which PSA and BNP Paribas are acquiring together. This deal now makes PSA the second largest automaker in Europe just behind Volkswagen. They also own Peugeot, Citroen, and DS brands. The deal had to be made because business has not being booming in Europe as expected for GM since 1999.It is believed that PSA would take things to the next level since they have had great success already with their existing brands. What do you think about this development ? By Donald3d https://autojosh.com/gm-sells-opel-2-3-billion/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

https://i63.tinypic.com/15o8174.jpg Volkswagen is having no chill despite the dieselgate saga. They have even waxed stronger in times of trouble. Now, they have revealed this amazing self driving pod. It is called the Volkswagen Sedric and expected to be on the road by 2025. Sedric is an acronym of Self-Driving Car.. The car comes with 5 lidar scanners (which measures distance to various objects), 7 cameras and several sensors to make it a Level 5 fully autonomous vehicle. Level 5 is the highest which means no single human intervention is required while driving. You can summon the car with its special key called the OneButton and you will receive details of the arrival time. Once on board, you can set your itinerary via the voice command system. This is a car of the future that will definitely get to Nigeria sometime in the future. What year do you think the Sedric would be spotted on Nigerian roads? Tell us in the comment section.. https://autojosh.com/volkswagen-sedric/

https://i68.tinypic.com/9awxp2.jpg This seems to be a mundane task for many but I decided to write about it because I’ve seen people get burnt due to little errors. A young man even got 2 of his fingers chopped off. He definitely got it wrong that one time. In order to avoid such disaster, these are the steps to follow when lifting your car with a jack. Find a leveled ground: Before touching your car jack, make sure your car is on a flat ground. Engage the parking brakes: Whether it’s the handbrake, leg brake or electronic brakes, make sure they are engaged to prevent the car from rolling. Reach for the vehicle manual This is one step we usually ignore. Check the curb weight of your vehicle in the owner’s manual and make sure the jack is rated to carry such load. Use chocks/wedges Many of us use big stones picked from the road. It is surely better than nothing. It further prevents your vehicle from rolling. Don’t rely solely on the parking brakes which hold only the rear wheels in most cars. https://i64.tinypic.com/2mgti1.jpg Locate the jack point of your car The jack point is a hole or reinforced beam that has the strength to withstand the weight of your car. This prevents damage to the bottom and sideboards of your car. See images of the jack points in the attached photos.. Time to use the jack Attach the jack to the jack point and lift the car carefully. Always ensure your jack well positioned to prevent it from snapping. Finally, Avoid putting your hands between the tyres and the wheel wells. What mistakes have you made while jacking up your car? Do you have any points to add? Let’s hear from you in the comment section. https://i66.tinypic.com/2mw8hll.jpg https://autojosh.com/jack-up-your-car/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy |

The Volkswagen Passat CC is a coupaloon that Nigerians definitely love. After years of impressive appearance on our roads, it’s time for brand new car buyers to say goodbye to the CC. Volkswagen is killing the name and not the design.. they are replacing the CC with the 2017 Volkswagen Arteon. It’s fascinating style makes it look like a saloon as well as a coupe.. and it expected to be placed above the regular Passat. Also a huge rival to the BMW 4-series Gran Coupe and Audi’s A5 Sportback. Engine: Expect a 1.5-litre 148bhp as well as a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol with 188 hp (standard front-wheel drive) or 276 hp (standard all-wheel drive) mated to an eight-speed automatic. The diesels are all 2.0-litres, with 148bhp/188bhp/236bhp. The Elegance and R-Line trims would be churned out from the firm’s Emden plant in Germany. The headlights will use GPS to predict an impending bend and illuminate it before you turn in. The cruise control will automatically adjust your speed based on traffic sign recognition and many more tech features… More features like fully digital cockpit with TFT screens, a head-up display and an infotainment system with gesture control. It’ll even slow you down and pull into the slow lane autonomously if it detects the driver has fallen ill. Get ready to order yours anytime from July 2017. https://autojosh.com/2017-volkswagen-arteon/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

The 87th Geneva International Motor Show is here already.. and Mercedes is set to wow everyone. They have released teaser photos of a four-door sport car. It’s the AMG GT which will get an astounding 600HP… OMG. This will surely relegate the CLS and the Panamera is in for some trouble. This idea was conceived way back 2012 and the ride is expected to arrive at your garage in 2019. It will be built on a similar platform with with the C, E and classes.. with a 4.0 litre V8 engine. https://autojosh.com/mercedes-amg/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

The demand for saloon cars has increased over the years and this is not unrelated to its compactness and elegance in appearance. Although there is a chasm which differentiates car lovers that are attracted to SUVs from ones that fancy saloon cars, the latter seems to have more fans partly due to it being relatively affordable. Almost all automobile brands have a representative in this category. The Jaguar brand is renowned for the luxurious and classy touch it adds to her products. This is exemplified in the 2017 Jaguar XF Premium that is giving all other brands a run for their money. Basically, Jaguar XF Premium 2017 is a saloon car that is comprehensively impressive. One of the Jaguar XF automobiles, its front view is catchy with bi-function High Intensity Discharge (HID) xenon lights that keep one’s driving path clearly illuminated. It has power folding exterior mirrors and a back that is expertly crafted to allure. The car comes with either 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel powered engine or 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine that is capable of reaching 60mph in 5.1 seconds–the choice is yours. More so, the interior is decorated with power leather seats that position one for a remarkable driver-passenger experience. It contains a good infotainment system that purports as a personal assistant to one on the driver’s seat. It has a power adjustable steering that ensures convenience in cruising and a “start” button to effortlessly begin one’s road experience with the automobile. It is valued at about ₦34million. High patronage of saloon cars in this part of the globe has led to the maximization of technology in manufacturing ones that inject glee in their usage. Being a quite age-old automotive brand, Jaguar delights her teeming adherents with the XF that lives up to the meaning of its name. It is a high-quality saloon car. The attention paid to efficiency and speed make it desirable, as well as gives rise to joy when beheld. https://autojosh.com/review-jaguar-xf-2018-model/

Just 3 months ago, we brought you photos of THIS mini Mclaren. Now it’s time to see the smallest automobile from one of the world’s most luxurious auto brand.. “Rolls Royce”. It is called The All New Rolls Royce SRH. Unlike other car manufacturers, only one of this was built and the owners are considered to be very lucky. The car was built for the St. Richard’s Hospital Pediatric Day Surgery Unit, located in the same town as Rolls-Royce headquarters. Obviously, the car got its name (SRH) from the hospital. The mini RR will be used to transport patients to the operating theatre. The patients are expected to drive down the hallway that even have road signs. Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös said, “We hope that the Rolls-Royce SRH will serve to make the experience for young people during treatment a little less stressful.” The SRH was built by Rolls Royce Bespoke Manufacturing Division that builds specially customized models. This means the small size of the car does not mean compromise.. it was built with careful attention to details. It comes with the two tone paint, RR badge on the wheels, red interior as well as the Spirit of Ecstasy on the hood. It is powered by an electric motor using a 24 volt battery. The accelerator which is located behind the steering wheels propel this cute ride to a top speed of 10mph (16 kilometres per hour) . This is a kind gesture from Rolls Royce. https://autojosh.com/rolls-royce-srh/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

This Jaguar E-Type has been abandoned in a storage facility for over 20 years such that its condition is far from worse. In fact, the word dilapidated still doesn’t describe the Jaguar’s current condition. Yet it’s been put up for auction like that. Lo and Behold, they said the Jaguar E-Type would fetch nothing less than N24milion (£44,000). Two weeks ago, a 1952 Volkswagen Beetle (Ijapa) that was abandoned for over 50 years too was also sold for N33Million in Paris. I probably have to start approaching the mechanic workshops around me to pick up the dilapidated cars in their compound. See photos of the Jaguar E-Type. How much would you pay for it? https://autojosh.com/jaguar-e-type-sold-n27million/

Sell bad/removed parts: You can sell your dead car battery for about N3,000… Your scrap engine can still be sold for N10,000 to N20,000 or even more… and this applies to most other parts in your car. So, always find a way to convert your scrap car parts to money. Pick passengers on your way to work: This is more like starting your own ride sharing program. If you live in Ikotun and work in Victoria Island, you can have constant passengers that will join you everyday at a total cost of N1,000 to and fro. With this, you can make an extra N4,000 (with a car) to N6,000 (with a minivan like Sienna) daily… and that’s additional N80k to N120k monthly. I remember a young banker who used this strategy to build his savings portfolio while his colleagues used to laugh at him. The smart guy just went to start his MicroFinance Bank when a massive downsizing shook the bank he was working. Turn it to a mobile billboard: You can get paid for displaying advert banners on the rear windshield of your car. Some companies have started offering this service in Nigeria.. They pair advertisers with car owners. However, they are yet to penetrate several states due to regulatory approvals. Convert it to a taxi or uber car: You can convert your car to a taxi especially on the Uber and Taxify platform and earn between N150k and N200k monthly. However, Uber cars must be from 2006 model and above. Use it as a mobile store: I am sure you have seen this in places that gets very busy for a temporary period. e.g Churches, Mosques, Schools etc. Some Nigerians make a living driving around town with their stock in their cars. Those in the corporate world surely patronise them a lot. Rent it out for events on weekends: Do you own a cool car that befits a couple on their wedding day? You could be cashing in on Saturdays while resting at home. You probably need to have a driver though. You can also use the car for airport and executive pick ups when you are at work on weekdays. Sell it: Selling your car to earn some money has been a norm. You may be selling to buy another car, clear your container at the port or to raise money to relocate. However, note that you owe the buyer a duty of transparency.. they deserve to know the major issues with the car. Tell us how you’ve been able to make some money with your car. Kindly like and share.. https://autojosh.com/7-ways-to-make-money-with-your-car/

I personally avoid “Okada”(motorcycle or motorbike) as much as I can .But some situations come up where you just can not do without these guys . For some people its an everyday affair and very few people take their safety into consideration. Today I would be giving you some tips on how to ensure your safety when boarding an Okada. 1.Make Sure He Is Not Drunk This is more than important ,it should be your first check.Observe closely , at the first sign of alcohol back off !!,even if he looks completely sober. 2.Consider Mature Men This is debatable, but its safe to say that real men and not boys are more responsible .Usually between the age bracket of 30 and 45,they are always cautious of their speed and most times obey traffic laws compared to the younger ones. After all, they have kids at home and they don’t want to die . 3.Be The Only Passenger If You Can Its safer to be the only passenger. And I know many of the Okada men would not agree, but its safer. 4.Learn To Caution The Rider If he is over-speeding and taking dangerous maneuvers and overtaking both big and small, with reckless abandon ,speak up !. 5.Avoid Okada At Night I know some people would protest at this. But its safer to avoid okada at night .A tricycle would suffice. 6.Avoid Boarding Okada On Major And Express Roads Cars move faster on such roads ,and bikes are more prone to accidents in such scenarios. 7.Pregnant And Nursing Mothers Should Stay Away !! Yeah I said it ,its just too dangerous .In the event of even a slight fall ,the aftermath could be fatal.Don’t also back your babies on an Okada . 8.Be Careful With Dangling Clothes And Accessories Trust me it could be fatal. Picture this :An Okada is moving fast, and passes by a stationary vehicle and your beautiful dress or ear piece or hair is dangling in the air and it gets hooked to the stationary vehicle. I am sure you have a good imagination ,play the scenario slowly in your head . 9.Never Leave Kids Alone At The Back Without An Adult Except the kid is holding the riders waist firmly .But I see a lot Nigerian parents sending Okada men to pick their children from school(sometimes up to 4 of them on one bike !!!).Its very risky.10.I Think Helmets Should Come Back This is really not a tip, more of a suggestion, because the use of helmets in Nigeria has proven almost impossible .Due to hygiene concerns and other reasons it has continually failed .But note that it is still safe to have an helmet on when you are on a bike . What do you think ?,have something to add ?. Disagree with a point ? Lets hear from you. After watching the trend at several police checkpoints, I was able to conclude that the Nigeria policemen prefer to stop SUVs… Well, that after the Okadas sha. I didn’t ponder for too long before 2 reasons came to my mind. I’d like to share them and also get more reasons from you guys in the comment section.. 1. Tinted Windows As we all know, a large chunk of SUVs come with factory tint windows (Privacy Glass). This has made the Men In Black to fall in love with them on Nigerian roads.. Because the drivers may have fake tint permit or may not even have at all. Policemen have been using this tint thing to chop for some time now and I guess it’s not stopping soon. The only way to escape constant harassment is to have a valid tint permit whether you drive an SUV or a mini car. 2. SUVs Are For Big Men/Women There is a popular believe that anyone who drives an SUV is rich. What a myth! Anyways, it seems the uniformed men believe there is a higher chance of something dropping from the owners of SUVs. Sometimes, they even chase after you in those Danfo buses they’ve chartered for the day. So if you are an existing or a potential SUV owner, be ready for a little more taxing depending on the areas you drive to. Let’s know if you have the same thought and additional reasons. https://autojosh.com/2-reasons-nigeria-policemen-like-to-stop-suvs-at-checkpoints/
