Hey guys ,today I would be giving a quick review of a made in Africa automobile . Let me say this before I proceed .I am personally not too happy with Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing.Without a doubt they are trying ,but I believe they are not being innovative enough when it comes to their designs and vehicle specifications.Ironically “Inno” is present in Innovative and Innoson . Now lets proceed. Its called “Wallys Iris “,manufactured by Wallyscar .Wallyscar is an automobile company based in Tunisia. -Its a convertible SUV . -Its built with galvanized steel and fibre glass -It has a manual transmission . -It has 3 cylinders in line ,and 12 valves with a cylinder capacity of 1199 cm3 -Its not doing too bad with a 82 hp engine -It weighs almost a tonne ,approximately 940 kg -Its 3.9 m in length ,1.7 m wide , and 1.65 m high -Max speed is 154km/h -It accelerates from 0 -100 km/h in 11.2 seconds -It broke my heart to know it uses only gasoline , was expecting it to be an hybrid . -The makers claim it has a CO2 emission of 120 g / km. -They made much emphasis on a good fuel consumption rate .Urban environment – 5.8 l / km ,extra urban -3.9 l / km,mixed- 4.8 l / km . More images to feed your eyes. I am giving this: 7/10 for design and concept 6/10 for speed And 10/10 for being African What do you think about the Wallys Iris ?.Let me know in the comments below Also don’t forget to share. Nigerians and Benz are like 7 and 8 A survey was done to determine the most googled car brand in each country. As seen in this map, Benz won in Nigeria despite Toyota being the most popular car on ground. Nigerians are really dreaming about Benz. Toyota rules the world and USA search. Russians love Hyundai and Honda has it for Canadians. Most surprisingly, Niger Republic can search for Bugatti!… for real? The research was carried out by a UK auto parts retailer called Quickco. Some of the countries are: -Nigeria: Mercedes Benz -USA: Toyota -Canada: Honda -Russia: Hyundai -Niger: Bugatti -Brazil: Honda -Australia: Toyota -China: Toyota -United Kingdom: BMW -Mexico: Chevrolet Note: Google was used to perform this analysis. However, google is not the most used search engine in some countries like China, Russia and South Korea. Tell us the car you google the most. In case you do not know what “one chance” means ,in summary its when you board a vehicle and end up been robbed or kidnapped by the owner of the vehicle or the occupants. After my dad narrated his ordeal of been robbed and almost thrown over the Third Mainland Bridge, I have always been extra careful, and you should too, except you have taken swimming lessons . Here are some tips to hep you avoid “one chance” vehicles . 1.Be Careful When Offered A Lift Especially for the ladies , be careful when offered lifts ,I personally advice ignoring lifts except you know the occupants of the vehicle very well . 2.Be Careful During Odd hours At certain hours of the day you would be more susceptible to one chance vehicles , especially very early in the morning and very late at night. So be careful. 3.Be Observant Before you board a vehicle observe the vehicle very well and take note for any suspicious activity or intentions, even though most times its not glaring you still have to be extra observant. 4.Is A Policeman Present ? A policeman or soldier present in a bus , gives an extra confidence. But I have heard stories where they have been used as camouflage ,so you still have to be careful. But most times its safe. 5.Trust your guts If you feel uncomfortable ,just trust your instincts and don’t board the vehicle. 6.Avoid All Male Vehicles An all-male vehicle is a no no.Even though it might not be dangerous ,its better safe than sorry. 7.Be Calm I know you might be late for that appointment, but its still best you take your time and choose the right bus.Don’t rush. 8.Make Use Of Bus Stops And Parks Its best to always board vehicles from parks and bus stops ,the buses there are most times registered to an association , so its safer. 9.Always Sit By The Door If you Can When you eventually choose a bus ,try to always sit close to the entrance. As much as possible avoid buses whose owners or conductors insist you go far inside when there is still space close to the entrance. 10.Always Enter Registered Vehicles In most parts of Lagos for example the Yellow buses with Black stripes indicates registered buses and cabs .So always board registered vehicles . I hope you learnt a thing or two. Don’t forget to comment and share . Road crash is the leading cause of sudden death in Nigeria. It is usually too late to salvage and the result is usually devastating. The knowledge of these 3 accident causing factors will help preserve lives as well as prevent the “IF I HAD KNOWN” regret: 1. Human Factors: -Overconfidence: -Speeding: -Lack of concentration: -Tiredness: -Driving under the influence: -Poor vehicle care: -Indiscriminate parking: -Dangerous overtaking: -Okada riders: -Inattentive pedestrians: 2. Mechanical Factors: This is usually due to poor vehicle maintenance. We hardly do proactive maintenance. We simply push the judgement day forward.. -Malfunctioning of the engine. -Poor steering mechanism. -Tyre burst. -Brake failure. -Failed wipers during raining season. -Exhaust smoke leading to temporary road blindness. -Defective lighting system. -Defective horn. -Faulty wheel balancing and alignment. -Absence of rear mirror. -Leaking fuel which may cause fire outbreak. -No reflective triangles. -Loose wheel nuts -Electrical faults. 3. Environmental Factors: -Pot holes. -Sharp bends. -Uneven road surface. -Slippery roads. -Rain. -Harmattan dust. -Sun glare. Let’s hear some more causes from you. e.g, I forgot to add police checkpoints. https://autojosh.com/accidents-on-nigerian-roads/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

Trailer accidents nowadays are increasing.Almost everyday a trailer or truck gets involved in an accident.Sadly, sometimes innocent lives are lost . Most of these accidents could have been averted if the right thing was done .Here are some tips on how to avoid getting involved in trailer or truck accident . 1.Stay Away ! The best way I know to be completely safe is to stay as far away as possible .Don’t drive directly behind them ,or in front of them ,or beside them.Stay away !.And make sure you are extra careful when overtaking .If you have to stay around them at all ,experts suggest you stay at least 4 seconds away before you get a chance to safely overtake . 2.Be Extra Careful In Bad Weather When its raining , or its foggy (eg harmattan dust),always drive carefully and cautiously .There might be a truck in front of you or trying to overtake beside you.So take extra care when the weather is bad and there is low visibility. 3.Avoid Blind Spots Bear in mind always , that if you can’t see the driver then he can’t see you through his mirrors.Always stay in safe regions where he can see you , to prevent mishaps. 4.Be Careful Around Sharp Turnings This is inclusive of round-abouts , trucks and trailers are longer than your car , so they tend to take longer to turn and most likely occupy the whole width of the road.At this point, most times they have even more blind spots , so its safer to just allow them go before you make a turn. 5.Signal Early Enough Always signal early enough and allow enough time ,before you overtake ,so they are ready for your intended actions.Don’t make quick overtakes ! . 6.Be Patient I really shouldn’t add this , because if you are impatient you shouldn’t be driving in the first place .Trailers and trucks are not danfos , so don’t try to engage in a road struggle.Just be patient !!. 7.Pay Attention Always Never loose focus , because a split second of distraction can cost you your life .And always be at alert !.Always be ready and expect the unexpected. A quick, short and true story It was around 2000, we were traveling to Kano in a luxurious bus . There were other little buses and cabs around . The luxurious bus , honked his horn(and its very very loud). A little bus/cab (can’t remember which ), swerved out of fear and shock(of the loud horn) and a lot of people lost their lives in the process . He lost focus and was not paying attention, he was probably lost in thought. Kano boys were not merciful they almost burnt our bus down !. No matter what, always be at alert !. I hope you enjoyed this guys and you have learnt a thing or two . Have anything to add ?,kindly comment .Also do not forget to share . https://autojosh.com/7-ways-avoid-trailer-accidents/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

Have you been thinking it’s only The United Kingdom and a few other countries that drive on the left side? Those few other countries are definitely not less than 65. So, don’t go crossing anyhow when visiting these countries.. Watch out for British Virgin Islands… it will shock you. AFRICA 1. Botswana 2. Kenya 3. Lesotho 4. Malawi 5. Mauritius 6. Mozambique 7. British Virgin Islands: Right hand drive cars always drive on the left side of the road. But in BVI, they drive left hand drive cars on the left side of the road.. How do they even overtake? The reason for this is.. they follow UK rules (driving on the left side) and they drive USA cars (left hand drive). I am sure this will also apply to some other Caribbean countries. 7. No one disputes the fact that Peugeot still has one of the best designs. Just take a look at this Peugeot 508 and tell us what you think. The 508 was launched in 2011 to replace the Peugeot 407, as well as the larger Peugeot 607. This 2017 model has an excellent facelift. The Peugeot 508 is an international award winning spacious and well equipped car.. with the best fuel economy in its class. Features of the Peugeot 508: -Manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. -Optional 4WD. -Colour head-up display. -Reverse camera. -Blind spot detection system -Satellite navigation -7″ touch screen, making the journey even safer. -Ample storage space. -Full LED headlamps using 50% less energy. -Open & Go keyless system. -HYbrid4 (hybrid) and Euro 6 BlueHDi (diesel) engines.. with excellent gas mileage. According to Peugeot Nigeria‘s website, this car has a starting price of N15.3m.. Just wondering if this ride is actually cheaper than the Corolla that now cost between N17.3m and N21.5m. In recent times the cost of transportation has significantly gone up.There are loads of lamentations going on here and there ,but we just can’t do without transportation .Here are seven ways we can spend less on transportation . Buy Your Own Car While this is debatable, depending on the constant route you ply and some other factors. In the long run it kind of pays later .You would be saved from hikes by Danfo drivers. Buy A Bicycle Yeah I said it ,buy a bicycle .For those short and medium range distances .It would not hurt to go on a bicycle.Just make sure you put on protective gear and ride safely . Understand Danfo Timing Depending on the kind of area you are boarding a Danfo from, the time of the day has a role to play in cost of transportation. For example if you stay in Oshodi , and you want to go towards Abule Egba-Sango its cheaper in the morning from around 6am-1pm ,because people hardly go towards that area in the morning , but are moving away towards Oshodi, Ikeja etc.So the transportation cost is cheaper. So understand the timing in that area with respect to the cost . Find Out The Quickest Route Asking around about the quickest route to your location would help save a lot .Also find a straight bus ,and not splitting the journey . For example ,when I want to go to Yaba from Dopemu I used to take , Oshodi to Onipanu to Yaba(#100 + #50 + #50).I later figured out there is a straight bus for just #150. Avoid Okada If You Can You really don’t have to take okada all the time .Alternatively tricycles (Maruwa) are comparatively cheaper and safer when available. Take The Water Ways If you are unlike me and you are not shaken by the sight of large body of water ,then the water ways is a good option when available .Its comparatively cheaper,no traffic and safer if you use a life jacket. Do Some Trekking As a popular slang goes ,Leg it !! .Your legedis benz is there for a reason. For considerably short distances , that wont take more than 20 minutes , it won’t do much harm if you take a walk .It would save you money and doctors say its good for your health. Have a thing or two to add ?,hit me with comments . Written by Donald3d https://autojosh.com/7-ways-to-spend-less-on-transport-in-lagos/

As we all know, President Trump‘s actual Limo is still work-in-progress. Therefore, he has to use Obama’s Limo (The Beast) pending when he gets delivery of his. Not much is actually known about The Beast since it falls under the Secret Service’s classified motor pool, but a few specifications and secrets have leaked out over the last few years. We pieced through what we could to provide you with this breakdown of 9 things worth knowing about Cadillac One, Limo One or… The Beast. 9 Things to Know About the US President’s Limo 1. It isn’t a Cadillac. Unlike any presidential state car before it, The Beast shares little in common with a standard production car. Its chassis, diesel engine and transmission are based on those used in the Chevrolet Kodiak, a rugged commercial vehicle used as everything from a dump truck to a U-Haul truck. Some standard trim pieces, like headlamps from an Escalade and tail lights from the now-discontinued STS keep it looking vaguely Cadillac-like. 2. It has its own airplane. The Secret Service makes use of a C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft to haul The Beast, a second limo and a heavily armored Chevrolet Suburban communications vehicle, any time the President is traveling. The Suburban is nicknamed Roadrunner and it is said to be a rolling communications office directly linked to a military satellite – hence the SATCOM dome festooned to its roof 3. Calling it armored is an understatement. There is probably not a better-armored vehicle with windows on the planet than The Beast. Its armor plating is said to be 8 inches thick and its doors weigh as much as those on a Boeing 757 aircraft. Five-inch thick bulletproof windows contain at least five layers to put a damper on any effort by subversives. And those gigantic, nearly bus-size Goodyear tires are Kevlar-reinforced run-flats capable of keeping The Beast on the road for quite some distance if needed. The interior is sealed off from the outside world to reduce risks of a chemical attack, while a special foam surrounds the fuel tank to insulate it in the event of an impact. 4. It’s exceedingly well-equipped. Pop open The Beast’s trunk and it is said that you’ll find everything from firefighting equipment and oxygen tanks to a cache of the president’s blood type. There are tear gas canisters, shotguns and, supposedly, grenade launchers, integrated into The Beast. The Secret Service has learned a lot since President John F. Kennedy’s open-top Lincoln Continental was fired upon on Elm Street in Dallas. 5. It holds seven passengers. At the very least, The Beast has three passengers aboard – the driver, the president’s lead Secret Service protective agent in the front passenger seat and, of course, the president himself. However, four additional seats in the back are available – three rearward facing spots on a bench and one spot next to the president for a guest. A folding desk separates the president from his guest’s spot. 6. The Beast is not alone. The Secret Service actually has a few Beast-like vehicles. Although it’s not known whether they’re all functionally identical, some look more like a Cadillac DTS than The Beast. The other limousines are used for high-ranking foreign officials and VIP guests when they’re in Washington, D.C. It isn’t known why the Secret Service rotates between presidential vehicles, however. In addition, the President sometimes travels in a heavily-armored Chevrolet Suburban or a modified Prevost bus known as Ground Force One rather than The Beast. 7. It runs on diesel. The Beast is believed to use a Duramax diesel engine closely related to that featured under the hood of Chevrolet and GMC’s full-size heavy duty pickup trucks. Why diesel? Aside from the durability associated with diesel engines, the fuel has a low volatility that reduces the risk of it exploding – and it can be found everywhere in the world, unlike high quality unleaded fuel. 8. Its pilot is a heck of a driver. Even though The Beast has more in common with a school bus than a sports car, its highly-trained drivers can execute tight J-turns and other police-style evasion techniques in the event of a situation gone south. The Secret Service drivers have undergone extensive training on a secluded site (believed to be a military base) with input from GM engineers and test drivers. 9. Its specs will not impress you. Burdened with lugging a rumored 20,000 lbs. worth of Beast around, the diesel engine isn’t a rocket. Hitting 60 mph from a complete stop takes about 15 seconds, which is more than just about any new car we can think of, and the big car’s top speed is said to max out at 60 mph. In addition, all that weight makes it a guzzler, sipping fuel at a rate of 8 mpg. https://autojosh.com/the-beast/

One thing that still baffles me is people who put their cars in park at every red light. It’s either you catch them red handed when inside their car.. or you see the reverse lights of their cars flash for like a second when moving from “park” to “drive“. Some believe it’s the best thing to do.. thinking “park” saves fuel compared to “neutral“. But I beg to disagree. I’d like to know your opinion about this. I’ll also like to take you through the disadvantages I perceive to be associated with this driving habit.. 1) Constantly shifting into park may cause excess wear on the parking pawl of your vehicle.. causing the gear to get stuck. The parking pawl is a metal pin that locks up the transmission in park. 2) The gear lever bushing of your vehicle is also at risk when you shift unnecessarily. 3) If another car hits yours from behind, the parking pawl may get damaged.. and your car will just roll into the opposite traffic. Brakes provide much more stopping potential. 4) Another big danger is, it may not allow you to safely escape in the event of an emergency. I am sure you know the gear gets hooked in park especially on a slope. Sometimes a split second can save you the difference between getting away from a threat and being a victim. 5) Someone even mistakenly put the car in reverse instead of drive.. the rest was history. I am sure you agree with me that this driving habit is not that safe and efficient after all. It even causes a little more delay when the light turns green. Finally, it is understandable that you may be too tired to hold on to the brakes.. or your car may have too much horsepower for the brakes. In this case, shifting to neutral and applying your parking brake may be a better option. Do you do this? Why? Kindly like and share.. https://autojosh.com/cars-in-park/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

Do you still remember the black number plates we used way back? This picture will definitely bring back memories.. as well as show what our car number plate was like, compared to what it is today. This current style was introduced in 1992 and revised in 2011. It looks more like that of USA compared to the previous one that has the shape of what they use in Europe. The unique plate combination is in the format “ABC-123 DE”. The first three letters indicates the Local Government Area where the vehicle was registered. Followed by three digits and two letters. The background consists of an outline of the map of Nigeria. Before 2011, the three letters indicating the Local Government Area were at the end, in this format AB123-CDE. https://autojosh.com/photos-4-car-number-plates-we-have-used-in-nigeria/

For a long time Lagos roads and traffic have been synonymous. In recent times there has been significant decrease in amount of grid-locks in some major roads like Oshodi bus stop, but the traffic situation has not been totally alleviated. So what causes this ?, most of them are unnecessary and could be prevented. 1.Danfo Drivers The ” badoo’s ” and “James Bond’s” of Lagos roads, these guys drive anyhow, overtake anyhow, and even obstruct traffic to pick up passangers .They are one of the major contributors to unnecessary traffic in Lagos. 2. NURTW Levy Collectors Cousins of the Danfo drivers , they piss me off all the time .They would not let the Danfo buses , go without dropping “Wazo” ,causing the Danfo drivers to obstruct traffic. 3.Police The Men In Black as I call them , won’t just let drivers be ,both Danfo and private drivers are targets .Road blocks , bribes ,they don’t just stop. They are always stopping, searching and collecting . 4.Stubborn Drivers Private drivers are not left out of this scuffle ,there are some stubborn drivers .They just can’t wait for their turn ,bypassing traffic lights ,overtaking etc. 5.Arguments This would always come up when there are stubborn drivers.Yesterday a bike and a bus driver blocked the road for almost 15 minutes and it was a T-junction , imagine the grid-lock they caused .All they did was argue and yell threats at each other .Iya e !!! Baba e !! . 6.Buying And Selling Women are one of the major culprits here , hungry kids are mostly the indirect cause. Some men are not left out .Some folks can pause traffic for almost 2 minutes on a major way just to buy Gala. 7.Bad Roads This is so pathetic and there is nothing drivers can do about this .Bad roads would always slow down traffic.I am using this medium to call on the government to fix all the bad roads .Good enough there are improvements .But improvements are not enough ,we need better roads to prevent unnecessary jams and accidents . It is a norm to flaunt our wealth in Nigeria.. especially with the type of vehicles we drive. This is one reason G-Wagons are so popular here. Some insane flaunters won’t settle for the average G-Wagon.. they’ll opt for this N500 million Mercedes Benz G63 AMG Limo. Imagine what the price would be after shipping and import duty. It’s not the standard 5,600 pounds military grade off roader.. this one is a monstrous 6X6 modified version built by a Canadian company called “Inkas“. This Limo is far more than the matte black stretched body.. It is also fully armoured. Hence its price. It comes with a 5.5-liter biturbo V8 engine pumping out 544 horsepower. It also got perimeter security cameras, satellite TV system, refrigerator, a bar, and a speed-vault quick-access pistol holder. In case of emergency, the truck’s indoor exhaust system can recirculate the air inside the vehicle in one minute to create a breathable atmosphere — on demand. With all these features i think only Potus’ Beast can compete. Finally, all these luxury and security features can be controlled from the owner’s corner through an integrated iPad Mini. You want? https://autojosh.com/mercedes-benz-g63-amg-limo/

Now we have semi-autonomous and fully autonomous cars. Some things are gradually phasing out, some might be phased out in the future ,lets find out . 1.Drivers I decided to add this first because we are already seeing it happen before our eyes .Very soon ,if driverless cars are improved on and “perfect” enough,we might not need drivers anymore. 2.Drivers License If cars are fully autonomous , the next logical thing to do or phase out ,might be drivers license. What do you need it for anyway when your are not going to be driving . 3.Buttons and Knobs We are already seeing this happen to our phones and even in some cars .With time we won’t be having knobs and buttons in out cars anymore , all there would be is touch screens . 4.Petrol Yeah , I said it ,petrol is going !!!!.With Toyota and other companies actively testing and implementing the use of hydrogen cells and building electric cars ,the use of petrol and other fuels like diesel would soon be completely phased out. 5.Physical Gauges Tired of seeing the same type of fuel or speed gauge all the time .Don’t worry they would soon be completely replaced with digital displays , even though some cars already have these, with time mechanical gauges would be phased out. 6. Car Keys Everything is going mobile this days , some cars already have this option .But soon it would be in all cars ,unlocking your car from your mobile phone would soon be the order of the day. 7.Sticks and Shafts Tired of pulling up your hand brake , or shifting the gear all the time , don’t worry it would soon be as easy as using a touch screen phone ,Take one long last look at your gears and hand-brakes people ,they would soon be gone !!!!. Have anything to add ?, let me know , don’t forget to share !!!!.
