Bus stop shelters used to be just that – shelters. However, with time, they are beginning to assume designs that are more creative. Some of them are made to be interactive and some made to be bedroom cosy. Anything to make commuters feel comfortable while waiting for a bus. Interestingly, some of them can be found along some of our roads in Lagos. The photos below show some quite creatively designed bus stop shelters. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/TBS-Bus-Terminal-5.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-7.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-2.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-4.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-5.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-6.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Bus-stop-Shelter-6.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-12.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-8.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-9.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-10.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-11.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-13.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-15.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Bus-stop-Shelter-5.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-16.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-17.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-18.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-25.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Lagos-bus-stop-shelter-8.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Bus-stop-Shelter-7.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-19.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-20.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-21.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-22.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-33.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-31.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-40.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-38.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Creative-Bus-stop-Shelters-42.jpg?x66560 See more photos HERE Source: https://autojosh.com/have-you-seen-more-creative-bus-stop-shelters-than-these-photos/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

It is now compulsory for airlines to indicate the exact number of travel luggage checked in by passengers on their boarding passengers. This is according to a directive by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). This directive is contained in a notice issued to airlines, earlier this week. The notice reads: “The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria hereby notifies all passengers that forthwith, it has become compulsory for airlines to indicate the exact number of travel luggage checked-in by passengers on their boarding passes. Passengers are therefore advised to always crosscheck their boarding passes to ensure that the number of luggage they checked-in is the same as reflected on it”. This new directive is believed to be inspired by a recent incidence where a Nigerian, Zainab Aliyu, on a lesser hajj to Saudi Arabia, was accused by Saudi authorities of entering the country with a piece of luggage containing Tramadol. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/faan-2.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/faan-3-1.jpg?x66560 Source: https://autojosh.com/airlines-must-indicate-the-exact-number-of-travel-luggage-checked-in-by-passengers-faan/

The owner of a supermarket in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state became the hero after a robbery at his supermarket. According to a report by a Facebook user, Ban Ifj OsisiOkhumu, the event occurred yesterday evening. It happened when the owner of a supermarket while sitting in his SUV outside his supermarket, noticed that the supermarket was being robbed. The robbers later escaped the scene in a tricycle popularly referred to as Keke NAPEP. The supermarket owner, on noticing the escape, then engaged the fleeing robbers in hot pursuit in his SUV. When he eventually caught up with the robbers, he rammed his SUV into them. Read the report as told by the Facebook user: "So it happened yesterday evening 25 June 2019, In Uyo. Unknown to them , the owner of the supermarket was inside his black SUV (as seen in the picture damaged ) and observing the robbers rob and leaving . Immediately they left happily, he started his SUV engine and gave them a hot chase. In less than a kilometer from the robbery spot, he forcefully with all powers to the throttle like his foot was glued to it , he slammed from behind and left the side of the keke, straight into the escaping robbers in their brand new getaway Keke. Thereby serious causing the Keke and it's robbers occupants to summersault several times. Unfortunately, the SUV driver lost control due to the speed and force he used to knock off and out completely, the Keke and its armed robbers. The SUV ended up in the fence of the nearby school . Badly destroyed too. As for the robbers, in the confusion they least expected, people rushed to the scene and the SUV ( supermarket owner) raised an alarm which saw two of the robbers being caught on the spot and on the ground . It was like a James Bond movie in life replay! At times , it pays to be daring after weighing the situation on the ground". https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Keke-Marwa-Accident-1.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Keke-Marwa-Accident-2.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Keke-Marwa-Accident-6.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Keke-Marwa-Accident-7.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Keke-Marwa-Accident-3.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Keke-Marwa-Accident-5.jpg?x66560 Source: https://autojosh.com/businessman-rams-his-suv-into-a-tricycle-used-by-escaping-armed-robbers-in-uyo-photos/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Obviously, Kojo Motors and Yutong have a lot of confidence in their buses after subjecting them to extensive rough road tests across Nigeria. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/yutong-t139hdh-front.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/yutong-t139hdh-front-side.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/yutong-t139hdh-rear-side.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/yutong-t139hdh-rear.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/yutong-t139hdh-entrance.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/yutong-t139hdh-dashboard.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/yutong-t139hdh-interior-ambient.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/yutong-t139hdh-interior-ambient-light.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/yutong-t139hdh-interior.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/yutong-t139hdh-storage-compartment.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/kojo-yutong-bus.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/yutong-nigeria.jpg?x66560 Source: https://autojosh.com/kojo-motors-launches-the-first-ever-14-meter-yutong-luxury-bus-with-mercedes-powertrain-photos/

This happened somewhere on the Lagos-Benin Expressway. According to a social media report, a traveller on that famous expressway got fed up with about a two and a half hour long period of been held up in traffic, then orders for a helicopter. In the video shared on Instagram by @Juxycarz, a number of other travellers assembled to capture the bizarre scene with their camera phones. Indeed, when "Money talks, crap happens". Every car tyre comes with a specified speed rating. The speed rating indicated the maximum speed a tyre is legally approved for. Going beyond your tyres speed ratings may end up landing you in trouble that can cost you your life. Speed ratings were established to match the speed capability of tyres with the top speed capability of the vehicles to which they are used. Being aware of your tyres’ speed rating will make you know the maximum speed your tyre is capable of safely maintaining. To find the legally approved speed rating, you’ll have to check the sidewall of the tyre as shown in the image below; https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Speed-Rating-of-a-tyre-new.png?x66560 Additionally, most tyre manufacturers maintain that a tyre that has been cut or punctured no longer retains the tyre manufacturer’s original speed rating, even after being repaired because the tyre manufacturer can’t control the quality of the repair. Hence, it is important to note that speed ratings only apply to tyres that have not been damaged, altered, under-inflated or overloaded. The most common tyre speed rating symbols, maximum speeds and typical applications are shown below: 1. Tyre Rating: L Maximum speed: 75 mph 120 km/h Typical application: Off-Road & Light Truck Tyres 2. Tyre Rating:M Maximum speed: 81 mph 130 km/h Typical application: Temporary Spare Tyres 3. Tyre Rating: N Maximum speed: 87 mph 140km/h 4. Tyre Rating ![]() Maximum speed: 93 mph 150 km/h 5. Tyre Rating:Q Maximum speed: 99 mph 160 km/h 6. Tyre Rating:R Maximum speed: 106 mph 170 km/h Typical application:H.D. Light Truck Tyres 7. Tyre Rating: S Maximum speed: 112 mph 180 km/h Typical application: Family Sedans & Vans 8. Tyre Rating: T Maximum speed: 118 mph 190 km/h Typical application: Family Sedans & Vans 9. Tyre Rating: U Maximum speed: 124 mph 200 km/h 10. Tyre Rating: H Maximum speed:130 mph 210 km/h Typical application:Sport Sedans & Coupes 11. Tyre Rating: V Maximum speed: 149 mph 240 km/h Typical application:Sport Sedans, Coupes & Sports Cars Z-speed rated tyres are capable of speeds in excess of 149 mph; how far above 149 mph was not identified. This ultimately caused the automotive industry to add W and Y speed ratings to identify the tyres that meet the needs of new vehicles that have extremely high top-speed capabilities. 12. Tyre Rating: W Maximum speed: 168 mph 270 km/h Typical application:Exotic Sports Cars 13. Tyre Rating: Y Maximum speed: 186 mph 300 km/h Typical application:Exotic Sports Cars Your engine might be able to do the speed but your tyres can betray you. Many have left the world due to the mistake of stretching the limits of their tyres. Before now, did you know about tyre speed ratings?Do you have an experience you would love to share? https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/luxury-bus.jpg?x66560 One of the most popular buses used for interstate journeys in Nigeria are buses confusedly referred to as “luxury” or “luxurious” buses. Indeed, this bus type is typically designed to be luxurious. They offer some kind of comfort or luxury to passengers. Well, as they age, they lose most of their "luxury". At that stage of dereliction, can we still call them luxury or luxurious buses? Definitely not. The appropriate name for this model of the bus is “Coach Bus”. Coach buses are designed for longer-distance service. This is in contrast to transit buses - or mini-buses. Though they are used for several purposes, in Nigeria, Coach Buses are mostly used for interstate journeys, etc.. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Yutong-Luxury-Bus-6.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Yutong-Luxury-Bus-13.jpg?x66560 Source: https://autojosh.com/why-do-we-call-these-buses-luxurious-buses/

Airbags are safety components in automobiles. Just like seatbelts, they are used to ensure the safety of drivers and their passengers, especially during a collision. They restrain the occupants from hitting their chest against the steering wheels, dashboard and being thrown out of the vehicle during impact. Airbags are gas-inflated cushions built into the steering wheel, dashboard, door, roof, or seat of a car. During collision or impact, airbags are instantly inflated by a crash sensor to trigger a rapid expansion to protect you from the collision. Below are important dates and events in the history of this wonderful invention. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Airbag-1.jpg?x66560 1. In 1968, an American, Allen Breed, invented a “sensor and safety system”. This was considered as the world’s first electromechanical automotive airbag system. Breed held the patent for the only crash sensing technology available at the birth of the airbag industry. 2. In 1951, a German, Walter Linderer and an American, John Hedrik, submitted the application for a rudimental patent for airbag. 3. In 1953, John Hedrik received U.S. Patent for what he called a “safety cushion assembly for automotive vehicles.” 4. Walter Linderer’s airbag was based on a compressed air system, released either by bumper contact or by the driver. He received a German patent for it. Later research during the 1960s proved that compressed air could not blow the bags up fast enough. 5. In 1971, the Ford car company built an experimental airbag fleet. 6. In 1973, General Motors tested airbags on the 1973 model Chevrolet automobile that was only sold for government use. 7. In 1973, Oldsmobile Tornado was the first car with a passenger airbag intended for sale to the public. 8. In 1975 and 1976, General Motors later offered an option to the general public of driver side airbags in full-sized Oldsmobile’s and Buick’s respectively. Cadillacs were available with driver and passenger airbags options during those same years. 9. Early airbags system had design issues resulting in fatalities caused solely by the airbags. 10. Airbags were offered once again as an option on the 1984 Ford Tempo automobile. 11. By 1988, Chrysler became the first company to offer airbag restraint systems as standard equipment. 12. In 1994, TRW began production of the first gas-inflated airbag. They are now mandatory in all cars since 1998. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Airbag-2.jpg?x66560 Source: https://autojosh.com/the-history-of-the-airbag-some-things-to-know-about-the-airbag/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/nail-polish-3.jpg?x66560 A chip or crack on your windscreen can expand if not attended to early enough. Here, I will put us through a tested method that one can use to prevent the expansion of a crack or chip on a windscreen. And guess what, the material for the process is quite common, you might already own one. Nail polish. Yes. The regular nail polish. But the clear type. Not any of the coloured ones. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/nail-polish-1.jpg?x66560 The clear nail polish can be used to keep cracks or chips on windscreens from spreading. When applied, it fills up the nooks and crannies of your small windshield chips and cracks and when it dries, helps to seal and protect it from the cold and elements that cause further cracking! Mind you, before you apply the nail polish to ensure to clean the damaged area of your windscreen with soap and water. This is to ensure that specks of dirt are not trapped in the crack after you have applied the nail polish. Once that is dry, simply apply a thin layer of clear nail polish to the damaged area and let dry. See. It is not so hard. Note, this method is not advised for large cracks windscreen. Instead, consult a professional windscreen repair technician or replaced your windscreens if they are severely damaged. Remember, the nail polish method is best only for tiny chips and cracks on your windscreen. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/nail-polish-2.jpg?x66560 Source: https://autojosh.com/how-to-keep-a-crack-on-a-windscreen-from-spreading/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

The photos below show some broken down trucks and some that were involved in road mishaps. These events occurred within a 72 hour period in Lagos state. And these are just a few of these scenarios that we were privy to. In Lagos, broken down trucks have become ubiquitous sights on roads. They also contribute to the legendary traffic gridlock that Lagos state is notorious for. When trucks break down or have crashed or their containers fall off their carriers at such a high frequency, it ought to be a source of urgent concern to the society. How road-worthy are these trucks? Whose responsibility is it to ensure that containers are well fastened on their carrier trucks? Is this not an indirect indictment on the competence of the VIO in the area of vehicle inspection and certification? Is the VIO up to their responsibilities? Since it appears that the VIO failing in its responsibility, is it not time to privatize the responsibility of routine inspection of Nigeria’s entire trucking fleet? Or who do you think we should hold responsible for this high-frequency truck-related accidents and breakdowns on our roads? https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-4.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-1.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-2.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-3.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-8.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-5.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-6.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-7.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-12.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-9.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-10.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-11.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-13.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-14.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-15.jpg?x66560 https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/broken-down-1ruck-17.jpg?x66560 Source: https://autojosh.com/within-the-last-72-hours-see-trucks-that-have-broken-down-on-lagos-roads-photos-autojosh/

Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the former Governor of River state and Minister of Transportation in the last dispensation, is one man that courts controversies effortlessly. The former Minister is also famous for declaring publicly that he has never accepted a bribe, and that he would not be tempted, much less yield, because he does not like money. In the recently dissolved cabinet of President Mohammadu Buhari, Rotimi Amaechi was one of the most active and outstanding ministers. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/amaechi-1.jpg?x66560 In the last 4 years, he was constantly in the news on account of several railway reconstructions and expansion projects around the country. Rotimi Amaechi, during his stint as the governor of River state and as the Minister of transportation, had been the focus of several controversies. Interestingly, some of the biggest controversies involving him centred on the cost of railway construction projects. Autojosh highlights 2 of the controversial railway projects that Rotimi Amaechi has been embroiled in. The Port Harcourt Monorail Project https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/amaechi-5.jpg?x66560 Rotimi Amaechi conceived the idea of the Port Harcourt Monorail project in 2008 during his first term as governor of River state. The project was intended for mass transportation within the Port Harcourt metropolis. While announcing the monorail project, Amaechi said it would be the first of its kind in West Africa. Two companies bided for the contract: Urbanord, an American company and TSI, a local company owned by a one-time military administrator of Rivers State, Colonel Anthony Ukpo. The foreign firm bided N25 billion to complete the Phase 1 which was a 12-kilometre distance in the design, while TSI quoted N50billion for the same distance. Amaechi opted for the indigenous firm. However, this decision did not get the buy-ins of Amaechi’s cabinet. When it became hard to get the endorsement of his cabinet members, he allegedly dissolved the cabinet to have his way and later reconstituted it after the contract award. This accounting is according to a submission by the Director, Safety and Aviation, Engineer Says Antioch of the State Ministry of Transportation before Justice George Omwreji-led Judicial Commission of Inquiry on the Sale of Assets of the state by former Governor Amaechi. The contract for the construction of the Port Harcourt monorail was designed to cover 12 kilometres at the cost of N50 billion. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/amaechi-6.jpg?x66560 The first phase of the project was to cover Aggrey road through Station road- Azikiwe road-Aba road to Water lines junction. In 2015, at the completion of Ameachi’s second term in office, the project had already been abandoned. Sources said the work already done at the point of abandonment covered only 2.6kilometers. At that point, it had already gulped N33.9billion. Many considered that spending as much as 33.9 billion on a 2.6-kilometre railway project was outrageous. There had also been allegations that the cost of the project, compared with similar projects in other states, was suspicious. Since Amaechi left office, the project has remained abandoned, as the current government, led by Governor Nyesom Wike, has distanced himself from the project. Lagos-Ibadan railway https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Lagos-Ibadan-Railway-Track-2.jpg?x66560 In April 2017, the Federal Government announced that it had begun the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge railway line. The Goodluck Jonathan-led government originally contracted the project for nearly $1.5 billion. However, the Buhari administration – under the supervision of the Rotimi Amaechi-led Ministry of Transportation – rewrote and renegotiated the contract with the Chinese construction firm handling the project, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC). Multiple news reports said while the 156-km Lagos-Ibadan railway line is estimated to cost $2b. The Line will run from Iddo in Lagos to Ibadan in Oyo State, passing through Abeokuta in Ogun State. It will also have an extension to the Apapa Ports Complex. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/amaechi-4.jpg?x66560 However, in May this year, a news report published by a Ghanaian news media revealed the cost of a similar railway construction project in Ghana. In the report, Ghana locked down its own standard gauge deal with another Chinese firm, which would also include the building of two terminals in addition to plans to establish local hubs to build locomotive coaches. The Ghanaian railway line, which will run on a 340km track, will cost Ghana $2.2 billion. The reports suggested that the Lagos-Ibadan railway project may have been significantly inflated considering the cost per distance of the two projects. Since the Lagos-Ibadan railway project is roughly one-third shorter, without any significant differences in gauge-type, power source or terrain, many wondered how Ghana got a better deal with the Chinese. https://e9r8e7v9.stackpathcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Lagos-Ibadan-Railway-Track-26.jpg?x66560 https://autojosh.com/rotimi-ameachi-and-the-2-controversial-rail-projects/ |

You won’t be bothered with flooded roads if it should rain. No pothole on the road will intimidate you, and the danfo drivers will accord you some respects. Other drivers may even feel intimidated by its size and may not get too close to it. A monster truck is a specialized truck with a heavy duty suspension, four-wheel steering, and oversized tyres constructed for competition and entertainment uses. They are originally created by modifying pickup trucks and Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs). This particular monster truck was spotted majestically moving in Lagos state of Nigeria.
