When it comes to automobile technology, there is no doubt Germany is ranked high amongst every other country in the automobile game. Whenever you hear ‘German Engineering” there is something that comes to your mind. Some of them are durability, longevity, ruggedness, class, luxury and so on.

Nazi Germany is a common English name for Germany between 1933 and 1945. This was when Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party controlled the country through dictatorship. Then, Germany was transformed into a totalitarian state where almost every aspect of life was controlled by the ruling power. The automobile industry was not left out.

There were crazy vehicles built for the military during the era of war in Naza Germany.

Some of the crazy vehicles built in Germany for the military during the Second World War include:

1. Panzer VIII Maus:
Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus was a super heavy German World War 11 tank built in 1944. It weighs 188 tonnes. It was 10.2 meters (33 ft 6 in) long, 3.71 meters (12 ft 2 in) wide, and 3.63 meters (11.9 ft) high.

It was designed by Ferdinand Porsche and he suggested the design to Adolf Hitler in 1942. It is known to be the heaviest fully enclosed armoured fighting vehicle ever built.

Due to the weight, it was too heavy for bridges. It was then designed to traverse rivers underwater at depths of up to 13m. Only two of it was built before the end of World War II. They were then captured by the Soviets.

2. Mercedes G-4 Wagen:
This seven-seat off-road vehicle was produced by Mercedes Benz in 1934. They were mainly used to transport the top men of the Nazi regime during parades and inspections. They were not produced in mass for general use because they were considered to be too expensive.

The top speed was just 67 km/h.

3. BMW Schneekrad:
The BMW Schneekrad was a single track motorcycle built in 1936. It is considered to be one of the world’s first snowmobiles.

4. Sturmtiger:
The Sturmtiger which means “Assault Tiger” in German was a World War II German assault gun built on the Tiger 1 chassis and was armed with a man-size rocket (380mm). The primary function of the Sturmtiger was to provide heavy fire support for infantry units. The few of the Sturmtiger produced fought in the Warsaw Uprising.

5. MinenRaumer:
The MinenRaumer is a strange looking armoured tractor designed by Alkett, Krupp and Mercedes Benz. The first prototype was completed in 1942.

The vehicle was designed to detonate land mines by simply rolling over them. It also cleared path for men and machine to follow.

6. Goliath tracked mine:
The complete German nomenclature is “Leichter Ladungsträger Goliath” which means “Goliath Light Charge Carrier” in English. They were unmanned remote-controlled ground vehicles used during World War II. They were also known as beetle tanks.

The 1ft tall and 4ft long Goliath was used in the destruction of tanks, disrupting dense infantry formations, and the demolition of buildings and bridges.

The Asese auto crash happened two days ago. It was between a Mercedes Benz Marcopolo (Luxurious bus) owned and managed by Young Shall Grow Motors Company, and a stationary Iveco truck parked along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

10 persons out of 42 passengers lost their lives after the crash.

Federal Road Safety Corps have already summoned Young Shall Grow Motors Company and are likely to be prosecuted after a full investigation into the accident has been carried out. You can read about it here.

A Facebook user, Prosper Whitestone, who is one of the survivors of the auto crash, shared his story aftermath the accident. He revealed how he couldn’t save his newly made friends that finally died in the accident scene.

He made it clear that Young Shall Grow Motors Company should be sued for wasting so much blood. He also revealed how the motor company made away with the manifest on discovery of their (survivors) willingness to protest so that the bereaved family should be properly compensated.

It was exactly 4:53 A.M and all I could remember was “our luxurious bus crashed!” Like the clock stopped and everywhere seemed darker than ever. I was seemingly unconscious for a time I couldn’t remember. With eyes halfly opened, I crawled passed the bodies, bodies that were lifeless. How it happened, I don’t know. All I knew was it happened too fast.

I was now out and still struggling to get me up on my feet when I discovered i wasn’t sleeping.”where exactly are we?” A faint voice responded from afar “we are in Asese axis, we are an hour away from Lagos. This is ogun State.”

I heard voices. No, not voices but screamings. Painful screamings coming from the bus that was conveying about 43 people from Enugu to Lagos.

They cried for help. “Hey, there’s someone here, I think she’s still breathing.” We dragged the few we could out to the ground. Then I walked back to the front I had escaped from. See, it was my 2 newly made friends in bus. His both legs were dancing separately apart, maybe 2 feet’s away from his pained body, and the other? His right hands has been cut off, plus the bus was pressing hard on his chest.

He looked at me faintly, raising up his other half alive hand, like he was trying to say “tell my mum I’ll miss her”. I felt for him. Then he finally said “help me, drag me out” I wished I could. And I also wished I could tell them they won’t be alive for too long. I left them disappointed!

For the first time in a long time, I found myself walking away from helping a fellow. I bleeded in my heart for them. Nobody could drag them out and in less than 10 minutes, they left this world.

Where are these medical teams for crying out loud? People are dying, the few saved are Anguishing in deep pain. Nigerian government is a scam!……

Lagos State medical teams came first and then ogun followed. By then, they were not needed again as many that would have survived have died. They died trusting these medical teams will come for them.

Only then did I realize that I was among the few survivor. Apart from some crashes, I am perfectly fine.

Hey, come up here, we need to sue “The young shall grow” for wasting these so much blood. We (privileged survivors) instigated interviews and called forth witnesses to testify. And the company discovered we are willing to make them pay or compensate the bereaved and they came and stole the bus #MANIFEST.

While a lot of people are working so hard to save up and buy this 2016 Mercedes Benz C300, someone is using it to learn how to drive in Abuja. Let’s put it this way: someone is learning how to drive with another man’s dream car.

Majority of people that learn how to drive does not use all these expensive latest cars; they use the one that can easily be fixed in case of any mishap. Seeing someone learning with a car like 2011 Toyota Camry (Spider) is quite understandable but not 2016 Mercedes Benz C300.

Volkswagen Vanagon from the 1980s popularly known as Danfo in Lagos state of Nigeria, lost control and landed itself in a gutter.

This happened along Toll Gate-7up Bus Stop, Lagos-ibadan expressway.

Most of the danfo drivers are known for the way they drive against traffic and climb road medians at will. They are among the greatest violators of traffic rules on Lagos road. They are good at driving without thinking of the safety of their passengers and other road users.

Yesterday at around 4PM on the Third Mainland Bridge, this vehicle filled with packs of flash light caught fire.

The reason why it caught fire is not yet known to us.

The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrived at the scene and quenched the fire. Other relevant agencies were expected to come for the quick evacuation of the vehicle to avoid traffic congestion.

I still wonder how the photographer got to know that the trailer bearing this container will flip. Lucky enough, no car or human being was around the trailer when it flipped.

Lives would have been lost on the spot.

This happened somewhere in Apapa, Lagos.

The photographer deserves some accolades for this perfectly times photos. He captioned it;

going, going, gone �� The “centre of excellence” wont kill us.

We should be very careful when driving around these trucks with containers especially on bad roads.

The brave pilot succeeded in landing the aircraft sideways safely amidst powerful wind blowing directly across the runway.

1. Lamborghini was established in 1963 by an Italian man named Ferruccio Lamborghini.

He was a very wealthy Italian entrepreneur and manufacturing magnate.

He had a very good and mechanical mind that led to the design of the varying range of the luxurious automobile.

2. Volkswagen bought Lamborghini in 1998.

In the early 1970s, Lamborghini experienced a lot of difficulties. This led to the company falling into various hands until Volkswagen came into the picture in 1998.

The company didn’t stabilize until it was bought by Volkswagen. Lamborghini was placed under the Audi division.

3. Lamborghini decided to start building cars after being insulted by Enzo Ferrari.

Lamborghini made up his mind to start building cars after he got insulted by Enzo Ferrari. Ferrari and Lamborghini have been rivals and this goes all the way back to the beginning. When Lamborghini was still making tractors, he spent his money to purchase a Ferrari – Ferrari 250GT. He had a continuous problem with the clutch of the car which was frustrating for him. He decided to go meet Enzo.

Enzo told him the problem was not with the car but the driver. He also told him to focus on his tractors and not cars. Oga Lamborghini took this as a challenge and decided to build his own car with a v12 engine.

4. The Lamborghini logo and several car names were inspired by fighting bull sport.

Ferruccio was very interested in the sports of bull fighting. In 1962, Lamborghini visited the ranch of Don Eduardo Miura who was a breeder of Spanish fighting bulls and was greatly inspired by the bulls there. There and then, he decided that he would name one of his Lamborghinis after “Miura”.

Majority of the Lamborghini car models like Gallardo and Murcielago were named after famous bulls.

5. The Lamborghini Veneno is one of the most expensive and rarest cars in the world.

Lamborghini introduced their Veneno coupe supercar in 2013 at the Geneva Auto show. The first production was limited to just four. Three offered for sale and one placed in a Museum.

Those who bought the three were specially selected and they paid a whooping sum of $4 million. At the end of 2017, just 12 Venenos were on the road worldwide.

6. Lamborghini made a special golf cart for the Vatican.

The cart was made with special bulletproof glass. It was used to transport Pope Johnpaul II around the Vatican City.

It’s now housed inside the Ferruccio Lamborghini family museum in Funo di Argelato, Italy.

7. It takes about 130 people to hand-craft the Murcielago SV. The entire car is made of carbon fibre, except the steel roof and the doors.

8. Lamborghini donated cars to Italian state police for fast transport of donated organs.

9. Lamborghini engines are used for powerboat racing. Some of their engines end up in powerboat.

This happened to an Instagram user with the account name mynnahclarke. She narrated how she and her friend survived the accident without sustaining any injury.

Their car skidded off the Lagos-Ibadan express road where there was diesel spill (diesel tanker spilled). She lost control of the vehicle which caused the car to somersault severally.

Wednesday morning, 20th June 2018, roughly between 9:36 – 9:52am, We skidded off Lagos-Ibadan express road at a curve where a tanker had spilled diesel on the road. This car hit the side of the road, went up in the air and somersaulted over four times.

The Lord indeed sent His Angels to take charge over me, to keep me, in their hands He bare me up, lest I dash my foot against a stone.

You spoke to me and I listened! I called on You in trouble and You answered! How you love me so? You gave me a second chance in life…. I’m testifying of Your goodness. You saved me and my colleague/friend – Sola, we are alive, no broken bones, no injuries, no internal bleeding, hale and hearty, All complete!

A lady on Twitter with the handle @chiefladyhur narrated here ordeal with a taxi driver in Lagos. She told a story of how the taxi driver made her depress the brake of the taxi from the passenger seat so he can step out and fight.

The taxi driver actually bashed the Toyota Camry in front of him but still went on to fight.

The lady’s narration was mostly in Yoruba language. If you don’t understand the language, we are here for you. We will give you the English interpretation after her story.

Okay y’all this was what happened in English.

This lady boarded a cab; the cab then hit a Toyota Camry badly and still challenged the owner.

Next thing the driver said was “my lady please help me press the brake”, saying he was going to beat the owner of the camry; then he got down .

For a moment she discovered so many lives were in her hand . The driver was throwing blows and shouting at the lady that she shouldn’t remove her leg from the brake. Then he continued with the owner of the Camry telling him that his life would be destroyed today.

Everyone was scared. The woman at the lady’s back was shouting God’s name, asking herself who asked her to enter this cab.The lady’s phone then rang, the woman panicking shouted please don’t pick up the call.

The lady started thinking what if Soldier ant should bite her. At last, the Camry guy beat up the cab man so bad He forgot to pick his native cap.

The woman at the lady’s back that was panicking then said referring to the cab man, that with all the energy he has infused in himself, he only has mouth to brag, and since they’ve beaten him now, he’s body is now calm.

Aboyomi Shogunle is the Assistant Commissioner of Police. He said it’s a traffic violation to break into a siren blaring security convoy. According to him, a criminal proceeding may be initiated against you.

He made this known to the public using his official and verified Twitter handle. His handle is @YomiShogunle.

According to International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), the total number of cars produced yearly amounts to Seventy-two million units (72, 000, 000). Mathematically, 197, 260 units of cars are produced daily.

A lot of car sale/purchase transactions go on simultaneously throughout the globe daily. Numerous cars are sold by dealers and then bought by consumers. When it comes to export products by value, car exportation take the number one spot; more than crude oil revenue.

Countries like China, Japan, Germany and USA are leading in the global car production. In as much as all these countries produce cars, there are those that export more than the other.

Global car exports by country were valued at US$740.1 billion for 2017. It was $700.7 billion in the year 2016.

According to continents, the European countries have the highest dollar value of car export in 2017. They cover 54.8% of international car sales.

The second continent after Europe is Asia at 23.6% of international car sales. North America followed Asia at 19.1% international car sales.

The smaller percentage came from Africa (1.2%).
