Monkeyprick: Afternoon my Oga's ,I have been hearing gbi gbi sound underneath my car for a month, so i took it to a mechanic and he said one of my engine seat is bad. He removed it and put bushings ,yet the sound still persist. Fast forward to yesterday, the sound was unbearable, as i opened the door to sit in, i heard something like a crack sound (which i suppose has to be the brake pads).. Please what could likely cause this? Wear out shaft /brake pads or linkage? Also, the car makes so much noise whenever i drive on interlocking stone, could that be a linkage stabilizer? Please help me out Bosses. bros this thing no hard o. what you need to do is get your mechanic check your suspension parts. a faulty engine seat usually causes vibration and stuff. not likely it will cause noise on the road. however your problem most likely lies in faulty bushings, linkages, shock absorber, spring, shock pads, linkage etc an ordinary (careful) visual inspection will really help you get this fixed right. don't throw parts. diagnose it right... |

radautoworks: Esc from the c1702 OH YEAH... thats true. but i felt it wouldnt be wise making a conclusion only based on just one module scan result. don't you think it would be wise to see other codes in other modules to give a better diagnosis process? |
Car Talk › Re: REMOTE FAULT ASSESSMENT AND DIAGNOSIS GUIDE By AutoMoTech by AutoMoTech(op): 3:02pm On Jan 27, 2020 |
radautoworks: Programming issue. Your esc module needs to be coded and g sensor calibrated. It's a software not a parts issue. Also possible bad fuse or wire short EPS or ESC? |

codemaster2much: Hello guru, I use a 2005 Pontiac vibe bought mid last year, I noticed the rpm never rises above 3000, my average speed is 80 to 100kmh. Please is this normal?
God bless this is not normal. a blocked exhaust usually shows this same symptoms. for confirmation test, find a panel beater to help remove the exhaust. for ease, you can consider removing the upstream o2 sensor, then try rev the engine. if it revs without any problem, then you have a blocked exhaust. pls kindly note this is just one of many other causes o. |

Peejaygold09: Good morning. Yes vehicle has been scanned. Car was bought brand new on hire purchase. Car has only was hit from behind and it hot another car about 4 years ago Power steering performs very well. It only becomes stiff when the eps light comes up Thank you thank you for the info provided. pls kindly carry out a scan on all the modules on the vehicle. reason being that, what you are experiencing might not be isolated to the Electronic Steering System (EPS) alone. there is a reason the engine computer shuts down systems and puts the vehicle in limp mode. being a CAN fault, there is a possibility a system is failing causing the above symptoms. we need to know what fault is common to all the modules. this will help in the rest of the diagnosis. so pls kindly scan all the systems and provide error codes. thanks |

Peejaygold09: Good Evening My Husband has been the person working with the mechanic. The current mechanic scanned it but I don't have information on the codes
The steering is not stiff, no noise from the steering The EPS light comes on, temperature gauge, rpm and gear signs go off. The car begins to move very slow.. Also AC goes off. I will show this feedback to him and get back to you. Thank you thank you for providing more info on this. I have a feeling you have an electrical fault which is causing the EPS light come on and the other symptoms you just mentioned. AC going off and vehicle driving slow sounds like what we call LIMP MODE. kindly get a competent tech, scan all the modules on that vehicle. you will find your fault. post codes if you can. |

Xtianvic: Please what do these lights signify? Car: Lexus ES300, if that's relevant the check is the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT aka CEL. your engine computer turns that on when there is a fault detected and an error code is stored on the computer. i will get back to you later on the other light. i currently do not have information on it |

The radiator........... Open your bonnet, start your engine, when engine achieves maximum temperature, check where the kettle is boiling from (keep an eye on your temperature gauge).....
A few things could be wrong, let's hope it's not your head gasket waving bye bye.............. Lets say a prayer for the soul of our dearly departed brother, husband and great friend... Mr. head Gasket |

suzzyrims: Good morning guys.
I use a Toyota Camry 2003, I recently started hearing a sound from the engine side like boiling water. Please I need an advise of what could be going wrong? When you hear dis boiling water noise have you openee the bonnet to check? Off my head you could possibly have an overheating problem.if the noise is from the radiator or expansion tank, then you sure have an overheating issue. If so you will need to get your cooling system checked Possible causes; Head gasket might be blown Radiator cover might have failed You might have a leak somewhere Etc... Kindly inspect and revert |

Peejaygold09: Good Evening. I need your advice. I use a Hyundai accent 2014 model. The EPS light ha refused to go off despite several attempt by different mechanics to work on it. The current mechanics says the error message is now detecting the colon (not sure about the spelling) under the steering. Pls who can I talk to. Pls help! The history of this issue is too long to type. God bless you as you respond. I have been seeing the name of Gazzus and Autotech in threads. I would like to understand something, when you say mechanics have worked on it, what do you mean? Did they carry out a thorough scan on the system? I believe there should be a module responsible for monitoring and controlling d EPS. If not previously done, kindly scan and post codes as a first step to your diagnosis. Also what other symptoms have you observed? Stiff steering? Whining Noise when you turn? Kindly provide these info so we can help better. |

chuks04: Good morning guys. Pls I use Volkswagen Passat 2007 model and recently I started noticing 'immobilizer active' on the dashboard. Whenever this comes on, the car won't start.
I will have to wait for like 10 minutes and sometimes I have to remove battery terminal so it can start.
I have only one key and the chip inside is intact, never fallen from my hand before.
Pls anyone with an advise...will really appreciate. First step i would advice is you scan the vehicle. Especially the immobilizer module to see what error codes are stored there. Eventually you might need to reprogramme the vehicle however thats maybe... There is possibly a communication fault between your key and the immobilizer or the immobilizer and the pcm etc.... |

Please is it a good car? What's the maintenance cost and fuel economy like? there is a reason you got the car. ensure you carry out necessary maintenance measures now like servicing, tune ups and stuff. as regards the maintenance cost and fuel economy, we cant really help as we do not know the current state of the vehicle. however try go online and learn as much as you can about the said vehicle, its common problems. Also find a mechanic/technician that's competent in the servicing and repairs of the vehicle make. |
