hello..pls I need help with my Babyboy 1999..I noticed that if I cold start my car early in the morning,it shakes and vibrates vigorously because the trachometer would be low,but when I rev the engine and warm the car,the shaking stops.This problem happens only in the morning or during cold starts.when I drive the car for long and park...the vibration doesn't happen.i noticed that this issue started when i changed my timing belt months ago.pls guru what could be the issue

sorry about this reply coming late. you said it started when you changed your timing belt. there is a possibility your timing wasn't set properly when it was replaced.
1. check your timing.
2. do a full engine diagnosis when you start the engine while cold.

For about 180mins, I perceived a brakelike burning odour from my 2006 Toyota Sienna vehicle which eventually stopped driving whilst in motion so I parked it up that night without forcing anything and then tried it the next day, put the gear on drive n reverse and it responded respectively as normal so I checked the gearbox oil and realised there was no single oil therein so I bought 4ltrs of one of the gearbox oils available within the village I found myself and then the vehicle started driving normally but after about the next 20mins of driving in motion, the odour intensified and gear drive selection, no longer smooth so I parked only to realize that there has been a leakage beneath the vehicle so called a gearbox specialist who then agreed there was a leakage and said it's from the pump and so dismantled the gear system, replaced the pump and the converter which he said was burnt to brownish color as a result of driving the gear/vehicle without oil. The parts were replaced and fresh gearbox oil refilled so I drove the vehicle only to find out that the gear selection struggles to select, it jerks sharply when selecting as if the engine mantle isn't properly placed so I reported to my gearbox mechanic and he says that the gear fibre has also been affected in the process of this entire experience.

So I need further expert advise, directives, suggestions and or best market price of a 13pin gearbox for 2006 Toyota Sienna, American model

Sir i dont think you have a gear mechanic yet. Kindly get another competent mechanic to help you diagnose that problem.
Also get a competent technician to scan your transmission system for fault codes stored. This might help point you in d right direction.

Did your perform a repair job on your car recently that involved electrical wiring?
Because it looks your your lights have been connected to turn on when ever the engine is running.
Secondly the wiring to your DRL might be faulty i.e short to power. in which once the engine is running there is voltage supply getting to d lights. Check your electricals/wiring for the lights

You most likely have a faulty EVAP system.
Kindly run a scan, and perform component tests on all parts in your EVAP system.

One of the two fans blowing on my radiator stopped working. I got my mechanic to check it and he confirmed the motor is bad. he got a tokunbo fixed on it. It did not work but he looped the connection with the first fan saying that there is no supply from the wire from the original connection. the fan started working but after a while the wire melted and the fan stopped.he put another wire. The fan worked again but after a while it stopped again. i got tired of this and removed the connection back to the normal position although it still did not work but i have being driving it that way since then and the engine heat indicator never go above the half way mark. What advice can i have on this issue. My car is toyota camry pencil.

Boss your fan circuit has a problem. Most likely a short circuit that caused the death of the first fan.
Check all the components involved
Fuses, relays, wiring etc... Your problem lies there

Check the window switches especially from the driver side. That could be where your problem lies.
Also check your fuses in some cars a different fise powers the driver side while the others are powered by a different fuse.

Yes it happen on a high gear, say 3,4 ,5
No vibration; that vibration is when I start engine, I notice by the sit and the arm rest.

Ok... Does your check engine light flash?
1. D vibration could be as a result of engine misfire.
2. Faulty engine seats.
3. Clogged throttle body.

I have a HP beads laptop, and a Dell inspiron. Dell has faulty motherboard, while the HP has got keyboard issues too.

Hi guys. I need your opinion on what laptop to choose from these brands:
1. HP
2. COMPAQ
3. DELL.

All have 2.0Ghtz; 4.0G, and...

What do I need the laptop for?
The purpose is to replaced my existing Dell inspiron 5050, and to have a system just for typing, downloads of PDF for research purposes. Something that's basically fast. I'm not interested in using it for movie downloads, etc.

Both Dell and the HP had no Intel inside, whilst the Compaq has something called ADC our so, and Intel altogether inside.

My concerns?
1. Y are Compaq laptops extremely hot during operation?
Is that because of the ADC something inside, or?

I'm not a laptop geek, so your corrections as regards jargons used would be appreciated too.

Chief... Compaq is simply a rebadged HP.
HP or Dell any of the 2 are great laptops you can use.
They are the most popular i think so U wnt be making a mistake if you chose any one of them....
Ensure U buy one u can expand d ram to 8gig or higher sef.
Then u go need atleast 1 terabyte hard disk o for softwares, documents and all.

The ones initially, observed is a misfire code for all cylinders. P0505 is an Idle Air Control code, your car might have a rough idle or stall, just have it checked,it is located in the throttle body, it might be clogged. The ones you observed after maybe has a result of faulty or clogged MAF sensor deceiving the PCM to run the engine lean, or faulty O2 sensor not feeding back correctly, there by continuously running the engine lean. Alot of variables not surfacing in the fault codes might need to be checked as well.

I just got a 2004 Matrix about a week about. The first scan code i observed was P0505
After my mechanic check the did servicing of the car with Mobil 1 synthetic , More code came out and the car engine performance is not smooth even after servicing the nozzle.
Below are the codes observed initially;
P0505
P0301
P0302
P0303
P0304

This also came out later in pending fault
P0171
P0133
P0451

Please what might be the issue for this numerous codes all at what

In addition to Billiebaba's diagnosis
First things to do
1. Diagnose your O2 sensor and its circuitry.
"P0133 indicates the ECM senses that the O2 Sensor is not changing its voltage output quickly enough to the changing air-fuel ratio. Hence why the P0133 trouble code definition is O2 sensor circuit “slow response” because the circuit is not reacting quickly enough." You can look this up online.
This could be the cause of the lean condition.
If the circuit is good. Change the sensor. Monitor the o2 sensor readings then see how the PCM responds.
2. P0451 TOYOTA - EVAP System Pressure Sensor Range/Performance.
Check your EVAP system. Ensure there are no leaks on the hoses, make sure the solenoids are not stuck closed, open or partially closed/open.
3. Once the above have been done... And the misfires are still present, then we proceed to diagnose the cause of the misfires.

My brother, you're a technician (with a workable knowledge around multiple car systems), so it's very easy for you to keep things in perspective.

If we had qualified mechanics who can at least diagnose a fault without trial and error then every Nigerian can drive a marquee and have peace of mind. If you live in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Kano or Lagos you'll find competent mechanics with at least a C3/C4 clone.

Between Calabar/Uyo there are only three C3/c4 clones (2 in Calabar, 1 kn Uyo... they will charge you an arm and a leg for basic diagnostics and actuations/adaptations (not even programming sef).

This is a problem, you know how difficult and expensive treating a simple misfire on this new Benz engines could be (spark plugs, air hoses, ignition coils, wires, even fuel pump, clogged filters can all cause uncontrollable shaking in your cabin area). An M112's ignition coil is about 4/5k a piece, for the M272 engine we are talking about 7-9k. Fuel pumps (Autokaf and Tibao 19-25k), Fuel filters (24-28k), and once the VDO dies, you'll keep changing the above at least every year if you drive a considerable distance. Most persons use their Mercs for City Driving - mine does well over 800kms on a weekly basis.

All in all, you're right. I shouldn't have generalised that all used Mercs were ticking bombs. That statement was inconsiderate to owners of the 3 pointed star. Weyreypey kindly find a way in your heart to re-induct me into the Benz Hall of Fame

I beg to differ. He didnt say all rubbish. Read the bolded. Many ppl want to buy a Benz enjoy the luxury it offers but want to maintain it like a 1.4l yaris...

Truth is Benz parts dont come cheap. But they last. Talking specifically from point of view of new suspension parts compared to other cars.

Also in support of what you said, the C180 Kompressor offers good power and economy at the same time...

There's nothing fishy about my car. Full disclosure on everything I do, deep down you know this. I won't lie because of a couple quid on a car, I can easily upgrade on. Truth is nobody on a tight budget should have anything to do with a Benz or an Infiniti. (I have progressive experience with both, they are good cars when they work, and money pits when things break), you won't deny this.

If a person looks for recommendation on a potential car and the first yardstick he/she chooses is "cheap parts", followed by "proximity to technicians or ease of repair" and or "low fuel consumption" - I will not recommend a Benz.

However, If he isn't on a budget then we all know the route to take in reference to the phrase "The Benz or Nothing".

I don't hate Mercs, God willing I'll always own one till the day I die, just like my grand dad. Every once in a while, I drive my old boy's 07 S Class and I feel the connection he has with that car (he fixes it himself, that's pure dedication - something I'll never be able to do. He sees nothing wrong with huge repair bills because he handles the labor aspect easily and pays for parts alone, I do!

There are only a handful vehicles in the same price range that can hold their own against an S Class, as for the other classes Mercedes no send at all, weyreypey knows this and if he's in a good mood - he'll confirm. I own an E Class. And I'm advising you to stay clear, follow Heavenl.yBang's advise if you must persist in this quest of yours. A used Benz whether toks or naija used is a ticking bomb.

Though this statement might have been as a result of your personal experience however I disagree.
As a technician, i have seen many many toks and used Benz being used for years without issues. Infact they are very reliable if well maintained.
A badly used benz maybe but to say a benz is a ticking time bomb? Haba manah
