No one knows it all. It wasn't a mere guess... I drive the same car and I spoke from personal experience...besides..I already said he should check the charging system..I never said he should replace it.
From my personal experience...my a/c suddenly started blowing hot...the speedometer stopped working, the abs/brake, battery, oil alert light came up on the dash. After some time, the engine died...I put a new battery and all the lights went off, only to come up again...got another battery, and the same thing happened again, and again..until I had to replace the alternator.
Good enough..someone here too has experienced same...so, we can't both come up with confusing stories.

Yes you are right. No one knows it. Ofcourse i dont. But in Diagnosis d way to get it right is being logical. Now based on your words, all the lights came on.
In the OPs case only the ABS and Brake light came on. Meaning this problem is only isolated to the braking system.
And after scanning you discover its a communication problem.
I'm sorry if i came at you in an unpolite manner. Not my intention. However the reason we diagnose is to get to the root of a problem and not taking mere guesses...

can you possibly give more detail based on your experience how the alternator causes the ABS and and Brake lights to be turned on and also causing the PCM to store the code U0073 - ABS SYSTEM CONTROL MODULE COMMUNICATION OFF.
really want to learn.

Thank you for the detailed response. I use a 2008 camry. I have scanned it and got the following codes U0073 and P0037, i was told I have to change the ABS,

P0037 has to do with oxygen sensor heater circuit. That definitely has nothing to do with the ABS light although it might affect drivability a little in regard to fuel consumption.
U0073 - ABS SYSTEM CONTROL MODULE COMMUNICATION OFF.
Why were you adviced to change the ABS module?
Have they confirmed there is good power and ground supply to the Motor?
Did they properly diagnose and tesg the module to reach this conclusion? If yes how was it tested?
I have a feeling you are only about to throw part at this problem however they might be correct. But pls before going ahead to buy a new ABS module, your technician should do the following
1. Test all electrical circuits connected to that ABS
2. CHECK THE COMMUNICATION WIRE HARNESS. Got a feeling this might be the problem.

If all checks out and it is confirmed rhe moduleis dead, then You can go ahead to replace the module.

Hello bro. Its nice to see you help however i believe it is important we are careful of the kind of information we put out there in the name of helping.
How do you explain charging system fault being the cause of ABS/Brake fault?
Quite a number of things could be wrong here.
@OP pls do provide the information of your car so we can help direct.
Now for diagosis, as suggested kindly scan your ABS module for stored fault
The reason you loose your speedometer is because most likely the wheel speed sensor responsible for feeding the ECU with with the speed from the wheel is faulty. And since there is no signal, you loose your speedometer.
However, it could just be a wiring fault, a faulty fuse, failing ABS module.
So to get rid of guesses pls scan the module.
Write down the codes. You can post here, however its not bad if you yourself look online for relevant information towards a correct diagnosis ...

I'm not concerned with all lights. The security light is the car icon with a key that lights up in your cluster. If you insert the key and turn to ON position the car icon should go off. If it doesn't and stays permanently on then there's a problem with your BCM, and hopefully not the ECM too.

Hence a scan for possible clues of the ECM, BCM and whatever module is responsible for immobilizer duties. Hoping those modules have not been fried sha

Under what loads?
AC on or off?
Whats the state of your cooling system?

However possible causes for higher temp on idle are;
1. Failing water pump, bearing or pulley
2. Collapsing hoses
3. Clogged/dirty condenser transfering heat to the radiator (only when AC is on)
4. Failed head gasket leaking hot combustion gases into the coolant channels

Personally o bros... My advice is the car is very good. Na your maintenance go determine how good it can get for you.
Fuel consumption is like dt of a 2.4 liter engine. So dont expect a corolla economy pls.
R u planning it for a daily driver/traveller?

I drive a 2006 civic and usually the vehicle jerks when changing from gear one to two. Most recently I also had the D light blinking and the vehicle won't move when on D but moves on reverse. I got the car scanned and the error code it pulled was P0776 pressure control solenoid B performance or stuck off. I would like to understand the implication of this code and way out thanks

Basically there is fault with your transmission. So for starters, check the basics.
It might be due to the following:
1. electrical fault. So check the wiring to your gear. Ensure there is no coroded wire or wateva. Check the connectors also. Also check the ground wiring.
2. Hydraulic: when last did you service your gear? If recently what oil did you use? If old, try drain and refill with the appropriate oil for Honda.
3. Do the following test. Rather than drive with D directly. Try driving with 1, 2, 3 etc, depending on what is available on your gear. Do this and revert.

Someone told me they use to break the catalyst inside the exhaust and remove it in pieces.
Am thinking of buying another catalyst here in Anambra but am scared of been dupe with fake catalyst

Also try if you can get O2 spacers. Rather than spend so much buying the exhaust cat, just attach the spacer and enjoy your motor

If U can get one still in good condition, then no problem. Otherwise look tru youtube in how to use O2 spacers

After cleaning the throttle body and coupling,I started the car and the idle was 1500. The method I used
Note: make sure the engine is warm before performing the relean procedure

*insert the key into the ignition & turn the key to ON position then take it back to OFF position
*turn the key back to ON position & turn it back to OFF position again.
*Start the car and make sure all gadget I.e radio, A.C. and other things are switched OFF
*Press your brake and put your handbrake ON
*Shift your gear to drive and let the car stay for about 3-5mins
You will also be seeing the rpm going down gradually till it get to 1000 or below.
*OFF the car after the rpm stops reducing.
*Start the car and you are ready to go

What method did you see online pls share with us or the link

On some vehicles, just driving around helps with the relearn.

Thank you I bought cabu cleaner @ 500 and spray it on the throttle body then I use my finger to clean the inside. It was actually black and after cleaning I relean the car with a method I saw online and the car stopped vibrating in idle and my idle guage is 800

Now thats Beautiful. The fact you did it yourself even gives me more joy

Take better care of your car next time. Mine has never stopped me on the road. Or developed any dumb fault. Only issues I've faced are cat/02 sensor issues, and suspension work. It's also sensitive to bad fuel but that's expected with such a high performance engine.

I have 165k miles on it right now. I fit carry am go Lagos anyday I wake up and feel like.

The sound is like vibration, through the cabin,
Especially when I want to accelerate to move faster,as I move on the sound fade away.
But if I am to move in slow pace , the sound won't be heard.


As to the delay
It happens whenever am moving and press brake to stop slowly, then accelerate to pickup, it delays for about 2 to 3 secs before connecting the right gear to move on.

Feels like low power due to misfire on light throttle.
Kindly find a professional auto tech to help with the diagnosis of this issue.
Check your fuel supply
Ignition system
Air
Vacuum leak among other things

Sometimes, while driving and about to make a stop and move again, it will delay about 2 to 3 secs before picking.

For now it sounds like a loss of power on intial throttling/accereleration.
Check your fuel and ignition system
Clean injectors if clogged
Clean plugs if dirty

Check the heat shields. Its possible there is transfer of heat from the engine compartment into the passenger cabin.

have you tried to check if one or some of the AC vents are open thereby allowing hot hair blow into the cabin?
1. check the vents?
2. check your ac settings? make sure its set to cold and not hot.
3. finally change the other vent settings to recycle and not to allow outside air in.
