As for the type of oil to use, kindly answer the following....
1. Did you get the car Nigerian used or foreign used?
If foreign used, use the recommended 5W30. If not move to question 2 below.

2. Was the car bought as a Nigerian used car?
If yes, you'll need to get the service history from the previous owner (the kind of oil and filter used and how often the oil is changed and at what millage). If the previous owner was using the 5k oil and the engine is covered in sludge, then I'd advice you stick to the 5k oil (unless the experts have a better opinion).
And for the vibration or jerking, at what point do you observe it?
1. During acceleration?
2. During gear change on acceleration?
3. While changing gears from Neutral position to D or R if equipped with auto gear.
4. While idling does the engine stutters?
5. Is there a significant drop of power when engine is loaded (in D, AC on, and all that)?.
All that and more are what the gurus might need to know including a scan code to remotely help you.

I have a feeling the jerking is due to sludge buildup affecting the VVTi system.

I later switched to Mobil synthetic this year and have not serviced my car in 6 months. The car is jerking a bit and i got our company driver to check, he says i may have to change the plugs and service the car... First of all the jerking might be unrelated with the synthetic oil U r using however after 6 months you need to visit a competent tech to help with servicing and probably a general engine tune up checking the plugs, injectors, throttle body, air filter, fuel pressure and complete engine diagnosis etc.
For the synthetic oil issue, generally I advice high mileage cars to switch to thicker oils like 10w40, 15w40 or 20w50 (synthetic preferably) etc.
however, there are exceptions. if from the vehicle history the vehicle has always been serviced with recommended oil I recommend such customers to continue with recommended oil.
in ur case, when you switched to synthetic, did U experience smoke from the exhaust and oil shorting in d engine?

THats the same light that comes on when the engine is due for service. In old nissans anyway. Dont know about the new ones. Best bet is for him to do a service reset because obviously OP didnt do it after the service. And also scan for DTCs

U need a mechanic for that. Brake system service must be carried out by trained personnel. Na ur safety be dt o.... could be the brake pad, could be your brake fluid is low, could be your ABS system is faulty. Reason why U need to visit a technician

Bought a Nissan Primera Wagon 2205 3 weeks ago. I've done oil change but the "car due for service" warning wouldn't go. Please help!

Its not enough to do an oil change. U need to reset the engine oil service on the ECU after servicing. Tho u serviced the car, the ECU does not know.
Kindly check online U might be able to see ways to carry out the reset urself.

I'm so sorry o, it might seem dumb. How do I check for the engine indicator or where do I check?

Try to find a technician dt uses a scanner to help U scan the system for stored faults. If u av someone close to u with an OBDII scanner that could also help.
Scan codes and paste here lets see what the comouter is trying to tell us.

Might try replacing all bushings just for the sake of it

NO. Don't just throw parts. If u replaced all bad bushings with good ones i think U shld focus on other parts. And are U sure the noise is coming from the suspension or probably some other thing?

Oil was leaking from top cylinder before, but v fixed it, it causes short of oil.

So is it now fixed or u still have the problem?

Handling was wonky and had noises on front driver side wheel.

Upon inspection, was advised to change

Shock Absorber
Lower Arm bushing
Steering link
Ball joint.

Which were replaced.

Had wheel alignment done


Still have some noise when I get into potholes on that wheel.

Funniest part is that it seems the wheel alignment made the steering worse

Morning. Sorry for the late reply. I need to ask some questions please.
The replacement parts you got were they new or used?
Also when they suggested you replace those parts did dey completely dismantle the whole suspension parts or just d mechanic just looked and said you should replace this and that?
Reason i ask is this. Suspension noise atimes can be super difficult to diagnose. Some bushings will be bad and by just looking u think dey r good until u remove them then u see dey r completely bad.
Sometyms missing parts can cause this noise. Worked on a honda crv once. We replaced all the old parts bt noise never went away until someone mentioned if the shock pad is there. I said no cuz it didnt come with the shock. So we tot d shock dt was there was oem cuz the ride was a recent model crv.
Well we put the shock pad and d noise went away straight. So my advice
1. Ensure the replacements parts are good.no guessing.
2. Dismantle the whole suspension and check all bushings. REplace bad ones
3. Look out for missing parts, check the steering system, exhaust and wateva is related to the chassis.

Yeah, may have been an issue with fuel. I have no idea. Or the car finally relearned proper idling speed after a few drive cycles. No idea.

I have a spacer on one bank. But the cat code is still coming up, even on that bank.

I doubt its a relearn process. Did U remove the throttle body or something? Cuz if U didnt den dere was no need for relearn

Anyway, two days, the rough idling stopped on its own completely. No issues till now.


On the flip side, after the cat delete, this car now sounds like a sub-machine gun.
Amazing sound. I was planning to do a muffler delete before this but I'm satisfied with how it sounds for now. I'll do a cold startup video later.

The cat delete also brought power gains. There's a noticeable increase in power after taking off the cats, especially in the low-end. Car pulls extremely hard now.

Ok cool. Then maybe probabli d low fuel or bad fuel was d cause.
Obviously cat delete will give a little more power since ur engine can now breathe better. Bt dt muffler is going o hehehehehe... did u use o2 spacers for d post cat?
